On Leave from the Society (Stepping away & Real Time issues)
  Lady and Gentlemen Adventurers:

There are times that test the souls of men and women, and the Explorer's Society is no different.

Should circumstances arise that cannot be foreseen or avoided, please leave a note here that you will need to 'step away' from the Society for a period of time (We'd prefer as specific a date as possible, but I realise that circumstances may not permit such)  When you return, please leave a message either here, or in the Parlour as to your return.

(Simply put, if you have real time issues that you can't work around, leave us a note that you can't post any longer, and when you might be back. We understand that sometimes, life just 'happens'...but if you can keep up apprised of things, we'll be more than happy to fit you back into the story as best we can. The time you are away will be considered 'off-screen' and if there are things that you wish your character to undertake while you are away, we'll consider any time in between as used toward whatever project/training/development that you are working towards. No project will be considered to be completed until you return and make a post to that effect. (And it will be up to me - The Headmaster - as to how much time has been placed on anything, and the decision will be final.)

On Leave from the Society (Stepping away & Real Time issues)
Not that I had any intention of being away from the Society, but my wife did something bad to her ankle over the weekend, and I'm the caregiver while she recovers.

That being said, I won't be posting as frequently for the next day or two - depending on how serious her injury is, but I promise I will get to each and every message in my inbox. Hopefully, it won't turn out to be hospitalisation worthy.

Carry on, and I'll keep in touch.

"Life is what happens when you are in the midst of other plans." - John Lennon.

UPDATE: Although her ankle seems to be getting a bit better, her doctor has mentioned that she needs to go to the Hospital and have some blood tests taken. It is precautionary, but there is a concern that she may have a blood clot that may be moving. (I'm not convinced, but better to be safe than sorry)

Crossing my fingers, toes, and anything else I can get away with...

Good luck, good sir.  Having sprained my ankle badly last year, RICE came in handy!

   Good news, everyone...

My wife just recently returned from her trip to the Hospital (gorram waiting lines, being treated like a piece of meat, etc...) and it appears that there is no evidence of any clotting in her ankle. There is *something* there, but there was nothing to indicate that anything dire was in the cards. I (along with her) are both relieved at the news. She's walking a little better and is planning to head to work tomorrow with an interesting tale to tell. (She had last week off for a vacation and to recover from a cold, but the ankle started to act up just as this past weekend began.)

Trust me, there is much rejoicing...

Sorry about the recent lack of postings- fortunately I'm not really big in the current scene. Insomnia the last few days has really struck my creativity down, but I should be posting up this evening.

No worries on this end, I wanted to see most of you posting while I put characters on proper sheets and filed them away for later.  Now that most of this is complete, I can move things along.

Hope you can catch up on your sleep in the meantime.

Pardon the lack of posting, had a game this evening and have been working to catch up on a Domain - level game on Facebook (Been mostly working on the leader of the Domain in D&D 3.5, and getting the Nation set up militarily.  Should be able to post something after brunch on Sunday - will likely be recovering from late-night AFL Footy (which is usually on until 04:30 local time)

I will be traveling most of next week and may be spotty about posting. I'll do my best to keep up, but will be returning to life after the work week.

Gone for a day or two - health and financial issues are making life difficult. Root canal tomorrow may knock me out for the day. Not sure.

I'm back from travels... And managed to pick up one of the worst sinus infections of my life in an airport. Airports are filthy, awful places and right now I can barely assemble enough thoughts to finish this foinglkanng

Re: On Leave from the Society (Stepping away & Real Time issues)
My condolences on the sinus infection - those are *never* fun to deal with (well, not the "F" word I'm thinking of, but this is a Mature Rated game, so I won't go there)

If you need a few more days, be my guest - the players are almost all in their places, so I'll be moving things along soon.

Take care, drink lots of fluids, and get well soon.

Seems we'll have a slowing down of postings for the next week (or at least until the weekend) with everyone going off on vacation. Not to worry, gives me some time to work out some stuff and make ready when Y'all come back later. (A GM can never do *enough* plotting, IMHO)  Enjoy, everyone ... we'll see what happens when you come back.

Sounds like a 'bad cop - bon cop' actioner ... light-hearted popcorn fare, to be sure. :)
