The next couple of weeks pass in a blur as the new team gets situated in their new facility. Their base of operations spares no expense giving them state of the art labs, equipment and training areas to work on becoming a cohesive team but it is rough going. While everyone is strong individually learning how to complement and rely on one another is slow going and it seems that the alarms go off all too soon before they are ready.

At mission control Unity, acting as a liason for RevoCorp, appears on their feed.

Unity was one of the unofficial extra members of the Freedom Five with the power to turn metal and electronics into robots she can control, typically themed around other super heroes she is friends with. While she was known for being bright and cheerful and a blast of youthful energy while she was part of that team, now she looks exhausted and frantic.

"Hello? Is this thing on? Is this the rescue squad? Operations something something? Alright doesn't matter. The point is we've got trouble and its your time to shine.

I'm helping with reconstruction efforts and...well...look!"

The camera spins away from her face wildly to show the streets of Megalopolis where swarms of spider-like robots are swarming out from the sewers. Nearby there are some robots that look suspiciously like gray metallic versions of the Freedom Five trying to battle with them but the robotic heroes are being overwhelmed faster then they can be repaired.

The camera whips around to show Unity's face. Sweat is dripping from her brow and she is constantly shifting her focus between the camera and the battle happening around her.

"I've got this area covered...I think. I hope. But there are more! Argent Adept is supposed to be around here as well but I can't get hold of him. Please, we need all the help we can get!"

Without waiting for a reply the camera shuts off. The mission control computer automatically pings with red to show Unity's position downtown. As the group watches more and more red dots appear soon covering downtown with notations indicating these are calls of distress as civilians try to alert the police about the robotic swarm. Soon it seems like the entire downtown area is being covered with robot attacks!

Warp is at work in his lab when the call comes in. Emily's holographic icon image blinks into existence, no cane needed as she was omnipresent within his workshop. Unity's message is displayed.

Warp stops what he is doing, and reaches into a warp portal that appears by his side. Withdrawing his hat and cane from within its odd depths. "Please see if you can track down the others. I will have to go get them if they are not already on the way or at the scene."

"Of course." Emily's emotionless tone replied from the strange glowing symbol hanging in the air. Warp gets on his coat, which was just laying quite normally on a nearby table, and steps into a larger portal-vanishing from his lab.

OOC-Anyone needing Warp to get them somewhere ASAP can contact him via any normal technology. He will be contacting them to see if they need a ride.

Speeding to the scene of the attacks the group sees the robots in all their horrible glory. They are about the size of mailboxes with hard blue steel carapaces, a big central gleaming red eye and diamond tipped claws at the end of their eight legs.

Individually they look to be tough but in the massive numbers they are swarming over it looks to be an almost impossible feat to stop them all. The group watches as some of them use their gleaming red eyes to emit lasers that cut right through steel and concrete!

As the group approaches to engage the nearest swarm reacts, breaking off into groups of three spiders each to attack the heroes! The spiders are not just coming out of the sewers though as they are crawling up the sides of buildings, jumping across rooftops by using some kind of sticky metallic webbing and in a matter of seconds the heroes are surrounded by dozens of them!

Combat Tracker

"That's a lot. What, like two dozen?"

Stepping back against a wall to limit her exposure, she called out to the water rushing in the sewers below, causing a rush of water to seemingly erupt out of it that threatened to unsteady the spiders' legs and fry internal components.

"But not enough."

Her bravado aside, willing that much water to move appeared to cause serious strain to both body and mind, as she gritted her teeth and tried not to look at the cracking skin on her hands and fingertips.

06:30, Today: Undertow rolled 1,5,5 using d6,d10,d12 with rolls of 1,5,5.  Attack vs. 2 Spiders.
Taking 5 damage.

Warp steps out of the portal last, as any others who chose to come with him exit first. Even as he does so, his cane makes a noise as the spiders begin to head for the heroes. "Alert. incoming threats. Analyzing danger levels. Sending info to HUD."

One spider leaps directly for Warps head, even as he brings the goggle he normally wears around the brim of his hat over his eyes.  The HUD digital display inside the goggles warn him just in time before the metal beast makes contact. He focus, and opens a portal in front of the creature-causing it to fall through space. The portal reopens 900 feet in the air, and then another portal opens under it after it builds terminal velocity. Then its sent to street level, where it smashes into many pieces due to the speed of impact.

Warp then is alerted to the other 2 robotic threats, and barley manages to step into another portal even as they attack.

"All right, here goes nothing," Javvy breathes to himself as he embraces the Light. He erupts in a brilliant flare of golden-white light as he exits the portal. He does not have much time to survey the scene as the spiders leap upon the group.

"Let's see how tough these things are," he mutters as he flies up into the air. He flips around in a loop de loop and aims himself at the spiders attacking him. He then zooms by each of them, allowing a blazing shockwave to ripple towards them...

Dead Eye stepped out of the Portal that Waro created and surveyed that scene. Calling upon the spirit of Captain Harp,  an unfortunate hero who died fighting during the OblivAeon war, he persuaded him to tactic reach one of the creatures in front of him. That left the other two untouched, but could only do so much.

Captain Harp, infused with what does psychic power that Dead Eye had provided, directed his attention to the first robot in front of him.  Strummed his imaginary harp he blasted the robot with telepathic power.

Rune Knight steps out of the portal and then takes to the air, floating into the sky through no visible mechanism. The spiders charge at the group but he keeps his cool and analyzes the metallic bodies of his foes. He focused in on their claws and his gauntlets glowed. After a moment his Rune Blade took on the same sheen as their diamond claws.

Freya could have flown here by herself, but there is some tactical advantage in showing up with the group, so through the portal it is.  Taking in the battlefield, she says, "Huh, what'd ya know.  Looks like fighting all the training bots in the simulator is going to come in handy."  She leaps into battle, meeting the spider-bots charge.

OOC: Use 'Your fight is with me!' on one of the spider-bots attacking her.

Damage 4, and it attacks me next turn, if able.

Undertow blasts away two robots coming after her, pressure washing them up into the air and blasting them apart.

Warp smashes a robot into pieces on the street.

Starblaze tries a sonic boom to smash the robots apart but while they are rocked and knocked over by the blast they quickly right themselves, reorienting themselves to try and continue their attack on him.

Deadeye uses his ghostly aid to destroy a spider.

Rune Knight prepares a weapon for battle.

Freya leaps into the middle of a group of robots and punches one across the street but it gets its feet under it and lands, charging right back into battle.

Rune Knight faces off against a trio as well. While one fires webbing at him to hold him into place the others turn their high intensity lasers on him which prove to be very effective at cutting through metal.

Against Deadeye the two remaining robots work together in perfect coordination, one stabs at him forcing him to dodge right into the path of a laser beam from the other.

Freya ends up drawing the attention of the three bots near her and they swarm her to attack. She is caught in sticky webbing while the other two attack her.

#10 boosts = +1 #11 hinders = -2 #12 attacks: 6+1-1 = 6 damage

Starblaze twists and twirls in the air staying out of reach of the webbing but the three team up to fire their lasers at him in the air and he is hit with several shots.

Even as Undertow is focusing on destroying to robots she feels a piercing pain in her side as another robot has chraged in behind her, attacking her with its diamond tipped claws and breaking her concentration. She falls to the ground as the spider gets on top and starts stabbing down at her from above, causing her to quickly roll back and forth to avoid getting skewered again.
Undertow takes 5 damage and falls to Yellow status

Finally Warp finds himself attacked in midair as one spider bot creates a tightrope of sticky webbing across two buildings giving the other spider a platform from which to jump and land on top of him as he tries to teleport to safety.

Combat Tracker

Even as the Robot lands on Warps head, trying to crush his skull, Warp does some inhumanly fast calculations. Seeing the limbs and deducing the strength of the spider like limbs, he hooks the device with his cane.

Falling off the building he transported to, he spins the droid around using his downward momentum. Unhooking the limb at the prime moment, the robot goes spinning off. Bouncing off each wall of the two buildings standing next to each other like a pinball.

At its final damaging bounce, it smashes into its fellow bot. Warp manages to hook onto a fire escape with his cane and swing himself onto his feet. However, he twists his arm a bit.

"You should have used the portals..." The cane says to him. He grumbles but says nothing in return.

As displacement attack allows me to move my target, I wish to use that target as a weapon into robot #19. Both would take damage of 7, which both fail. However, as I am taking a minor twist, I would take my min die as damage to accomplish this.

"Argh," grunts Starblaze as the robots attack him. Obviously, they are a tough enough to survive some photonic parlor tricks. He streaks back up into the air to put some distance between himself and his attackers, and points his hand towards one of them. A beam of white light flashes into existence between Starblaze and the spider-bot. The light instantly slags the spider bot, leaving behind a steaming, sizzling puddle of metal...

Also, I just realized I wrote Exploit Vulnerability instead of Danger Zone for my last attack. My bad, I forgot to change the name after I decided to pick Danger Zone instead of Exploit Vulnerability. I've updated my description with the right name. Sorry! x_x
