Amelia Farrington is the daughter and heir of an English aristocrat, the late Robert Farrington, Baron Mawsby. She was born to a life of privilege, but her family estates were hit hard by the Depression, and she is now working for the British Meteorological Office as a weather researcher to help make ends meet.

Amelia is a pretty and intelligent young woman of 21 with a zest for life and an adventurous streak. Her current assignment is to perform weather forecasts and measurements for the Winter Olympics at Lake Placid.
