Episode 2 - Chapter 1  Return to the Core

Den nods solemnly. "I suppose you are right, Raana. However, it's easier said than done." He replies, continuing to walk with the others to the briefing with another Jedi Master.

The desire to sit in the archives and not have to suffer this kind of loss again strikes the young padawan. He does his best to stifle these feelings. Is it worth all this pain and grief? How is this helping? he thinks as he absently chews on his thumb.

Episode 2 - Chapter 1  Return to the Core

The Jedi group and their slicer droid companion strolled down the main corridor from one of the numerous docking rings aboard the Naval Orbital platform, as they contemplated the recent tragic events that lead them back to the Galactic Core region. It was a lesson that couldn't be learned in a classroom on the real cost of war for those involved.

They weren't schedule to meet with the Jedi Master until later that evening, which was a surprise to find the Jedi Council member slithering toward them on his snake-like lower body. Master Oppo Rancisis had the lower body of a serpent, and the torso of a humanoid. He had a long, flowing, white beard and hair. His hair obscured most of his face with barely any room for his eyes and mouth. The hair atop his head was tied into a odd sort of bun shaped like a flat Tarnesian onion to keep it from totally obscuring his face.

He raised a long, ocre tinted hand with long, sharp fingernails in a gesture to halt their movements. His other hand was holding a large metallic, gray box with an electronic panel and indicators on it.

"Please hold a moment, padawans." His small eyes flicked over to the dark metallic droid. "Pardon me, that includes you K1T1."

"I apologize for not contacting you sooner, but I sent my Padawan to contact the Jedi Council regarding my findings. Since you have arrived, I was meditating and felt the presence of dark side influence that is, thankfully, sitting mostly dormant. But after more study through the force, I was able to discern that it is not without power. It has some latent energy that isn't being used yet and slowly building in strength, which is of grave concern to me. It could also be affecting your emotions to some very small degree at this point. I have brought with me from Coruscant, this secure container... ".
He displayed the large box as he continued. ." "This contains a, sort of dampening field for Sith objects that have proven effective for many of the artifacts in our possession. I would like to get this object secured as soon as possible. I can follow the dark side aura, but it might be much faster if you escort me to where you have it stored."

Episode 2 - Chapter 1  Return to the Core

The padawan would have walked right into the jedi master had he not said anything. Den looks up from the ground and at the Thisspiasian in front of him. "Oh, pardon us, Master Rancisis." He says with a slight nod of his head. He listens to the jedi master and then nods in response. "We felt it best that K1 handle the object. We could feel the dark side in the relic trying to corrupt us. We kept it locked away in a bay on the ship." Den replies. "I guess we can go back to the ship to show you." He says, turning to point in the direction of the docks.

He continues speaking once they start walking. "I am curious of it. A part of me wishes to research where it came from. Do you think the archives would have this information?"

Master Oppo attempted to curve slightly less from side to side on his long lower body to give room for Den to walk by his side. "Doubtful, we didn't know of this location as a possible site and there was no record of it in the archives. But, perhaps a more detailed description could reveal if it was created elsewhere and taken from another site that was known. I will make a thorough holo-scan of the item and bring it back to the Temple and compare it to other recorded artifacts."

Re: Episode 2 - Chapter 1  Return to the Core

If Raana is surprised to see Master Rancisis slithering towards them, she hides it well. She smiles at the master, bowing a little as he stops. She lets Den answer the Master’s questions. “Handing that thing over will be a relief,” she confesses to Rancisis as they head back to fetch the artifact.

Unlike Den, Raana has given the nature of the artifact little thought since Jini and the others freed her. To her, the thing is evil and has been used to do horrible things and she would be happy if the Jedi Council decided to destroy it. But it isn’t for her to suggest such a thing.

Trying to change the subject, she uses the lull in conversation between Den and Master Rancisis to ask a question. “Master, do you know where we will be sent next? Are we going back to Coruscant?” That would, in her mind, be the most logical course of action. All of them are without a master, and even if the Jedi Order is stretched fighting a war it never wanted, surely they will want the Padawans to continue their training under the tutelage of a Jedi Master.

Re: Episode 2 - Chapter 1  Return to the Core

The Protocol Droid stopped as the Jedi Master indicated that she was a part of the gathered group of Padawans. It had been expected that K1 would have been returned to the Jedi Order to be debriefed and then returned to duty for the next Jedi who required her services. But apparently, this was not to be the case.

Her handling of the artefact had been the logical decision - her mechanical brain was not susceptible to the same ... impulses ... as the organic members of the group. K1 had secured the artefact into a small compartment that had been built into the Droid's lower abdominal cavity, where it had remained until they'd returned back to some semblance of civilization and had found a proper authority figure in which to surrender the artefact to. The Jedi Master who'd approached them and produced the secure container appeared to be just such an authority figure.

"Pardon me, Master Jedi." the feminine tones of her vocoder rose from behind the other Padawans. The tones were a slight contrast to the single red-hued ocular sensor that was placed in the same area where other Protocol Droids had been given a pair of sensors to make them appear more 'organic'. "But are we to surrender the artefact to you, then? I had assumed our directive was to return to Coruscant to place the object in safe-keeping. Has that directive been changed?"

The Jedi Master's eyes were impossible to see from the side as his long, white face hair obscured them. Despite not seeing his eyes, the Togruta could tell he was glancing in her direction. "Yes. We will all head to Coruscant together. You will meet with your assigned Masters soon and another Jedi handler will accompany you until you reach them.  After we arrive at Coruscant, we will find out where they are currently assigned or being sent and arrange from there."

The snake-light Force user turned to face Raana where she could see his eyes, knowing she was currently unattached and was likely curious who would train her. "The Council are discussing who will be your master and we should have an answer by the time we arrive on Coruscant."

The group entered the hangar as K1 approached Master Oppo.

"Yes, I have been directed by Master Mace Windu to take control of the Sith device, using this container it should keep it controlled or at least dampened. I will.."

The Jedi Master stopped and his head swiveled back and forth, pulling a lightsaber from his belt clip. "I sense something is very wrong.."

Re: Episode 2 - Chapter 1  Return to the Core

The group entered the Chandrillan Orbital Platforms auxiliary hangar bay where Captain Tylen's ship was docked close to the left bulkhead, just beyond the wide bay turbo lift used to move up smaller spacecraft or heavy equipment to the hangar from the storage area below. The turbo lift was down, which left a big rectangular pit in the floor. There was only one other ship there, and it was an older class Tri-wing shuttle. It was also a civilian craft and was parked along the right side of the hangar and closer to the main station entrance. The back wall was entirely open to space, obscured partially with a shimmering blue light from the magnetic shields holding the atmosphere in place.

The Jedi contingent moved under the gangway, which was several meters above them. It ran across the hangar, which accessed the control room for the bay. Several clone troopers in full armor were standing guard around the shuttle, and another group of them in front of the freighter that brought them here.
[Private to Raana De'Fenn: ** Raana noticed that there was an officer with both groups of clone troopers, which seemed odd for guard duty in a hangar bay. But the Togruta just figured it to be some kind of training exercise, the clones were fanatic about their preparedness, after all. **]
[Private to Den Jaxon:    ** Den noticed that there weren't any maintenance crews, sentients or droids, working on the ships. Although they could just be on a meal break or something, so he didn't think much about it. **]
[Private to Tarrin Feruwi:  ** Tarrin noticed there were clone troopers here in the hangar around both ships, which seemed strange to him because when they arrived he remembered there was Chandrillan station security guarding this area, not clones or military. Tylen had mentioned before they landed this was an auxiliary hangar bay used for civilian contractors and guests. He also felt some tension in the Force from the clone's as the Jedi entered the hangar and their posture changed subtly to more alert, as both group's carefully shifted to face the incoming crew members. **]

Re: Episode 2 - Chapter 1  Return to the Core

Despite not having participated in the conversation due to his strange, more reserved demeanor, Tarrin had been listening to what the Jedi Master had been saying.  So, when Master Rancisis indicated that something was wrong, the Miraluka extended his senses through the Force to see what he could ascertain.  It was true that his people did not have the gift of sight like other races, but vision through the Force had other benefits.  Not only could he perceive the objects around him like normal vision, but emotional states often times filtered through as well.  Unhooking the lightsaber hilt from his belt, he held it loosely in his right hand as he approached the Jedi Master from the middle of the group.  Though Tarrin did not ignite his lightsaber, he kept his body in a defensive posture, keeping his senses extended to prepare for a conflict that he felt was soon approaching.  [Private to GM: Read - Keeping Up Combat Sense for two upgrades to the first two attacks against him.]  It was better to be ready with a possible defense in this situation--especially since he did not want to risk losing another person again so soon.  He was determined to defend the others with greater vigilance now that Jini was no longer there with them to be dual vanguard with him like they had been.

"Master Rancisis, I believe your feeling is substantiated," the Miraluka began, murmuring softly so that his voice would not carry to the clone troopers nearby.  "When we arrived here, Captain Tylen mentioned that this was an auxiliary hangar for civilian contractors and guests.  This level of military presence is not warranted.  Not to mention, when we arrived here the Chandrillan Station Security was on duty in this place.  Not the Clones or military.  These odd things I could dismiss, but there's one more thing that makes this more concerning."

Pausing for a moment to let the tension he was starting to feel ease out of his body in preparation for what was to come, he continued.  "I can feel their wariness of us.  They are tense and alert as if prepared for some sort of imminent conflict.  And with their posture changes, it is likely that conflict may be with us.  I have not ignited my lightsaber because I do not want it to instigate a physical confrontation, but it would be unwise of us not to be ready for one to occur--though I don't know why we would be their target."

Raana looks at the clones again, and then quickly looks away. "I thought it was strange they'd each have an officer with them. It didn't feel right. You are right, Tarrin, there is something going on here. If we all go in there there will be trouble for sure. Perhaps a little deception is in order to get more intel. I could go to the ship alone and tell them that Master Rancisis asked me to get something from the ship. Something boring, like the communications log or something. Meenwhile, you talk here and look impatient, as if you are waiting for me to return. And you call it in, of course," the Togruta suggests. "We need to know if the pilot is still on board, and if the artifact has been taken, or is in the process of being taken. I don't think we have much time."

Re: Episode 2 - Chapter 1  Return to the Core

K1T1 watched in silence as the Clone troopers went about their duties, most of them guarding the vehicles which had both brought them to the Chandrillan Orbital Platforms, as well as the older shuttle that was parked at one side of the Bay.

She listened to the voices of the young Jedi as they spoke with the Jedi Master, the Master remaining calm while the padawans appeared ... less so. The Clone troopers carried out their duties in a fashion that struck the Protocol Droid as odd; She was programmed to notice the subtle differences and shifts in a person's body language so she could better understand their needs and interpret them to whomever she was tasked to report to. Thankfully, with the single ocular sensor she possessed, it was difficult to tell exactly where she was looking and the Droid used her panoramic vision to watch the Troopers a bit more closely.

They moved with a certain caution, she could see that, but could not reach a satisfactory conclusion about the reason for their change in behaviour. Were they expecting something? Or waiting for something?

The Padawans were also agitated, she realised. She said nothing as they talked, content to just listen and absorb the information while the group worked on ... something. She would afford them their privacy and continued to observe both the group, as well as the larger Hanger Bay they were standing in.

As the group discussed the peculiar circumstances of the auxillary hangar bay, they heard boots moving quickly down the corridor. The sounds were getting very close, and Master Oppo, snatch his lightsaber off his belt, but didn't light it. "The clone troopers seem to be on high alert and expecting some kind of trouble. I'm not sure why they haven't sounded any kind of alarm though. This is very..." The master is cut-off as the boots came to a halt at the door that the Jedi and their droid just came through. They took up firing positions, and lifted their blaster rifles in the direction of the Jedi, or perhaps something on the ship. But the other clone squads also lifted their weapons, training in... on the Jedi!

Re: Episode 2 - Chapter 1  Return to the Core

The Jedi Master moved swiftly into action, his elongated tail-body coiling up like a spring as he lifted a yellowish clawed hand toward something on the ground nearby. Suddenly, a large hypospanner flung through the air like it was launched from a missile tube. It let out a resounding clang as it impacted the door controls to the station corridor where they came in. The panel let off sparks and a snaking wisp of smoke as the heavy, station access door slammed shut. This effectively cut off the clone squad out in the hallway, for a little while at least. He lit up his bright blue lightsaber and turned to face the other threats. He yelled out to the others, "Get to your ship, now!"

OOC:  Oppo sent an object flying into the door controls, striking it squarely and closing the door and burning out the controls to keep it from opening with the control panel.

Re: Episode 2 - Chapter 1  Return to the Core

Both clone squads open up with a barrage of blaster fire in the midst of the Jedi group. Most were concentrated on the Jedi Master, and he deflected most of the fire, but one last second deflection directed downward hitting himself, leaving a nasty, deep burn mark across the more sensitive underside of his ochre shaded body where he used those muscles for moving.

Den was on the left side of the Jedi group and was targeted mostly by the squad of clones in front of the Shrieking Acklay. He managed to avoid and deflect the bolts, sending one up above to the catwalk which hit the joint between a support pole and the crossing rail. The metal splintered and rained down on the group.

OOC: The Jedi Master reduced with reflect down to 4 damaged, but triumph resulted in a crit, agonizing wound. Increases difficulty of brawn and agility checks by 1, until end of encounter. Also 4 advantages on attack against Den, causes next two attacks from party to suffer a setback (1S).

10:06, Today: ChosenOne, for the NPC Clone squad SA, rolled 2 failures, 4 advantages using the Star Wars Edge of the Empire with a dice pool of 2P 1A 2D with rolls of 11(P), 8(P), 7(A), 3(D), 3(D).  blaster attack on Den.

Re: Episode 2 - Chapter 1  Return to the Core

When the barrels of the blaster rifles came up and pointed directly at them, there were too many things Tarrin just did not understand.  What was causing their former allies to treat them with such hostility?  What had gone wrong?  But, such thoughts flew from his head once they all came under fire and Master Rancisis suffered a deep burn mark from the blaster fire.  The groan of pain from the Jedi Master caused his mind to flash back to the sounds of pain that he had heard from Jini over the comlink before she had been overwhelmed by Separatist forces.  That same thing he had said he would never allow to happen again seemed to be coming to pass all over again.

The Miraluka grit his teeth so hard they creaked audibly as he ignited his lightsaber, the brilliant blue blade flashing to light as the sparks from Den's deflection showered overhead, scattering over the drawn hood of Tarrin's vest.  There was something stirring within him, and it was most definitely dark in its origin.  The Padawan could feel nothing but blinding, seething rage.

Moving with the speed and single-mindedness of a person possessed, he surged out ahead of the group, batting away blaster bolts with wild-armed swings, showing far less of the Jedi control that he usually did.  Usually, Jedi took care with where the blaster bolts they deflected ended up.  It was obvious to see that Tarrin was past that point.

As he rounded the turbolift, the Miraluka set upon the troopers guarding the Shrieking Acklay.  As his lightsaber prepared to cut a swath through them, he could see them shy away from him and tense, preparing to receive the ends of their lives.  These troopers had fought alongside Jedi--they knew that they had little chance of survival.  Abruptly, he could see Charlie's face before his eyes, and the rage vanished.  He had fought alongside Clones like these.  How could he snuff out their lives just like that?  Swinging his lightsaber so that the blade slipped away from them, he focused it in spinning around him to give the Clones less of an area to shoot.

"What is the meaning of this, Sergeant?!" he exclaimed to the officer nearby.  "Even if we are not in direct command of your unit, you are shooting at superior officers!  And even if you wish to bring a person into custody, you have to at least give a list of charges first instead of directly opening fire according to Republic doctrine!"

He had to at least give these Clones a chance.  For Charlie.

13:32, Today: Tarrin Feruwi rolled no successes, 4 advantages using the Star Wars Edge of the Empire with a dice pool of 3A 1P 2D 1S with rolls of 6(A), 8(A), 3(A), 6(P), 1(D), 2(D), 2(S).

Two strain to make it to engaged.  Three advantages to gain +1 Ranged Defense.  The last one I'll use to give the next person on our side a Boost since Tarrin has engaged this group and is effectively distracting them.

The clone officer with yellow pin striping, who was standing at the ramp of Tylen's ship, fixed his 'T' shaped visor on the Miraluka. He raised his rifle trying to get a shot as he announced with a voice that Tarrin could sense was strained. "Jedi traitors. You have attempted to assassinate the Chancellor. All Jedi are sentenced to death. Comply."

He tried to line up a shot, but the blind Jedi sensed the attack and put one of the clone troopers between them at the last second. The officer pulled his rifle up to avoid friendly fire.

Den's lightsaber barely managed to ignite in time to deflect the shots away from him. Fear of being killed by men who he once called friends overtakes the young padawan. In his haste, he reaches out to use that fear to influence a trooper to feel as he does. "Please stop! We did nothing wrong!" He cries out.

Flipping a LS point to use a dark side point. Seeing allies attack him put him in a situation where he wants to convince them that they are not a threat.

Imposters. That has to be it, Raana thinks in desperation as the clones open fire. Separatists, posing as clones, trying to retrieve the artifact. It has to be. She runs towards the fake clones guarding the ship with Tarrin and Den, lighting up her lightsaber as she runs.

She is a little confused when the officer shouts something about all Jedi being traitors, mostly because the voice is dead on. These might be some new infiltration droids as they match the voice of the clones perfectly. Thinking about it she hesitates, and cuts her swing short. It’s just too hard to actually attack someone wearing the uniform of a clone who also manages to sound like one, even if the rational part of her brain is screaming at her to cut down what have to be infiltration droids.

OOC: 19:45, Today: Raana De'Fenn rolled 1 failure, 2 advantages using the Star Wars Edge of the Empire with a dice pool of 3A 1P 2D 1S with rolls of 8(A), 8(A), 1(A), 1(P), 4(D), 2(D), 5(S).  Attack on the officer that spoke.

Well bother. I’ll spend the two advantages to give myself a boost on Raana’s next attack.

K1 watched as the scene unfolded, then turned to complete chaos as blaster fire sliced through the Bay. Hearing that the Jedi were responsible for an attack on the Supreme Chancellor, she paused for a moment to regard the Jedi along with the Padawans, while her internal sensors attempted to determine if this was correct. She'd been with the Padawans for their entire previous mission, so the thought that all Jedi were traitors was fundamentally illogical in her mind.

Something has gone wrong, very wrong.

She didn't wait for anyone else to move but began to make her way towards the transport that would take them to Coruscant. She moved as quickly as she possibly could, her metallic footfalls largely lost in the din of weapons fire that cross-crossed the area ...

Re: Episode 2 - Chapter 1  Return to the Core

START OF ROUND 2

The Jedi Master yelled out with authority and resolve, "Last chance to lay down your arms." The clone squad in front of the shuttle continued to fire their DC-15A rifles at Oppo, ignoring his demand. Master Rancisis had to protect the padawans and secure the artifact. He was a little saddened, but grimly resigned to do what was needed.

He deflected the bolts with ease and, at the next volley, he leapt twenty meters in the air over everything, landing in the midst of the clone squad that fired at him, between two of the clone soldiers. He cut the first one in half at the waist and continued his strike through him and slashed the second deeply across the midsection. He sprung off of his coiled tail toward the third, with his lightsaber outstretched, impaled that last trooper in the chest. That left only the grey-striped, armored, junior clone officer alone by the shuttle.

OOC: The advantage will be that his incredibly effective attack inspired the next ally with an extra boost die.

09:33, Today: ChosenOne, for the NPC Master Rancisis, rolled 5 successes, 1 advantage, 1 triumph using the Star Wars Edge of the Empire with a dice pool of 3P 2A D D B with rolls of 3(P), 12(P), 2(P), 8(A), 3(A), 5(D), 1(D), 3(B).  lightsaber attack.

Re: Episode 2 - Chapter 1  Return to the Core

If the clone troopers showed any remorse, it was impossible to tell through their T-shaped black visors. They continued to move and try to get a good shot at the three Jedi padawans who were moving and dodging all over the place, weaving in and about the white armored soldiers. One clone eventually managed to get a shot through to hit the Togruta in the side, while she was busy dodging other bolts.

OOC: Raana hit for 12 damage minus soak, unless she can reflect it. 2 threats are a boost to next person attack the clone squad..

14:25, Today: ChosenOne, for the NPC Clone squad SA, rolled 2 successes, 2 threats using the Star Wars Edge of the Empire with a dice pool of 2P A 3D with rolls of 5(P), 1(P), 7(A), 4(D), 6(D), 8(D).  correction, forgot to add penalty for firing while engaged.

14:18, Today: ChosenOne, for the NPC Clone squad SA, rolled 2 successes, 1 threat using the Star Wars Edge of the Empire with a dice pool of 2P A 2D with rolls of 10(P), 2(P), 3(A), 4(D), 7(D).  firing at Raana.

Rolled randomly to see who would get attacked, since there was no logical preference for them, had to go to a Tie breaker between Tarrin and Raana.

14:15, Today: Secret Roll: ChosenOne, on behalf of Tarrin Feruwi, rolled no successes, 1 dark force point, 4 light force points using the Star Wars Edge of the Empire with a dice pool of 3F with rolls of 5(F), 12(F), 11(F).  tie breaker.

Re: Episode 2 - Chapter 1  Return to the Core

Having used the other clone trooper as cover in order to prevent the officer from firing at him, the few moments as he moved allowed Tarrin's senses to perceive what was going on in the battle around him.  He could see the anguish on Den's face as the cry for mercy went unheeded, and the blaster bolt that grazed through Raana's skin caused gritted teeth.  His friends were in harm's way, and here he was unable to bring himself to strike back against the ones who were harming them.  Ones who had been friends themselves.  But, the Miraluka knew his heart was too soft, unable to banish the vision of Charlie from his mind when he had to turn his weapon against the Clones.  How could he?  The Clones had been the staunchest allies in the worst of places.  But, in his desperation, he found the answer he sought.  There was only one thing that could cloud one's emotions well enough to steel him for what he needed to do.

Anger.

As the Padawan spun around the clone trooper, he walked slowly toward the officer.  Grasping onto the feeling of the pain his allies were in and the pain of the betrayal he felt, he could feel his lips twisting into a snarl.

"Fine," he stated coldly.  "No more mercy."  His lightsaber flashed in a long, swinging arc to bat away a stray blaster bolt that flew in his direction as he kept walking forward.  "No more quarter."  Bringing the brilliant blue blade of light back up before him, he continued.  "Just remember.  You brought this on yourselves."

With that, Tarrin thrust forward with his lightsaber, piercing through the Sergeant's thigh in a quick stab that was meant to give pain and distract the attention downward before flicking upward the score across the side of the helmet's T-shaped visor to cause the Clone to recoil.  Counting on that, the Miraluka's foot lashed outward to strike in the spot of the thigh he had just injured to cause the Sergeant intentional pain.  The Padawan was no longer trying to fight defensively anymore.  He was trying to inflict as much pain as he could.  Burned scores began to cover the officer's armor as Tarrin's lightsaber kept moving like a fluid snake of light.

"You were our friends," he stated amid the flickering light of the sparks caused by the contact of lightsaber to armor.  "We trusted you with our lives.  We will not make that mistake again."

Raising his voice for the others to hear, he shouted.  "Get to the ship!  I'll try to hold them off the best I can until you get there!"

Raising his lightsaber point toward the injured Sergeant, Tarrin leveled his voice to the Clone once again.  "I suggest you leave before whatever shred of mercy I have left for you is gone.  I am telling you this in recognition for what the Clones and the Jedi have shared up to this point."

Truthfully, the Miraluka was trying to keep the darkness at bay before the emotion managed to overtake him.  Taking out his anger on the Sergeant had felt...good.  And he really wasn't sure what to make of that feeling.

15:48, Tue 11 Sept: Tarrin Feruwi rolled 1 success, 4 advantages using the Star Wars Edge of the Empire with a dice pool of 3A 1P 1B 2D with rolls of 7(A), 2(A), 8(A), 5(P), 5(B), 3(D), 8(D).

But, we subtract one Difficulty die...

8(D). 8 on difficulty die is 1 failure and 1 threat.

And add a Challenge Die...

10:14, Today: Tarrin Feruwi rolled no successes using the Star Wars Edge of the Empire with a dice pool of 1C with rolls of 1(C).

So, the final result total is 2 Successes, 5 Advantages.

That is 8 Damage, and 5 Advantages are going toward Critical to become Crit +40.

10:15, Today: Tarrin Feruwi rolled 88 using 1d100+40 with rolls of 48.

Compromised: Increase difficulty of all skill checks by one until the end of the encounter.

I hope you don't mind that I got a little cinematic with it.  I thought it was thematically appropriate.

Re: Episode 2 - Chapter 1  Return to the Core

The junior officer at the shuttle ramp, backed away up the ramp and continued firing at the snake-like Jedi, frantically hoping to get through his spinning blade. Shots were deflected every which direction, but it caused the Force user to back away a few steps. One of the deflected shots hit the ramp control to the shuttle. It shorted and sparked, causing the ramp to open part way and then it fizzled out and stopped, leaving it partially raised.

The clone officer by the boxy freighter, tried to minimized the effects of the strikes from Tarrin, but there were too many and he suffered several wounds. He fired several, shaky shots toward the blind Jedi's legs to give himself room. He took advantage of the momentary reprieve and hopped back past the ramp and around the strut of the Shrieking Acklay to put some obstacles in the Jedi's path.

OOC: okay. the Clone officer by the shuttle passed a boost to next clone officer with advantage, and the Triumph is the stuck ramp giving Oppo an upgraded attack next round.

21:02, Today: ChosenOne, for the NPC Clone Officer SH, rolled 1 failure, 1 advantage, 1 triumph using the Star Wars Edge of the Empire with a dice pool of P P D D D S ((12(P), 8(P), 3(D), 1(D), 1(D), 3(S))).

The clone officer, after the extra boost I forgot to use, ended up failing to hit, but got 3 advantages. So he will get a +1 melee defense for moving behind the strut, and also used manuever to move out of engaged, so he is now at short range.

21:44, Today: ChosenOne, for the NPC clone officer SA, rolled no successes, 2 advantages using the Star Wars Edge of the Empire with a dice pool of B with rolls of 5(B).  added boost from other officer.

21:36, Today: ChosenOne, for the NPC clone office SA, rolled 2 failures, 1 threat using the Star Wars Edge of the Empire with a dice pool of P P C C C S S with rolls of 9(P), 2(P), 6(C), 2(C), 9(C), 4(S), 3(S).  firing at Tarrin.

The rest of the group that hasn't gone in Round 2 can take actions. Den you can leave yours or roll again. You didn't add a boost from a result of the clone squad's threat during their attack. So you will need to add that, either way. Also giving a setback to enemies takes 2 advantages.

Re: Episode 2 - Chapter 1  Return to the Core

With Den now in close range with the troopers, he realizes his mistake. He wasn't a fighter, that's for certain--although, he does have a natural affinity to using the lightsaber. He swings at the clones in front of him, hoping to move them away from the entrance of the ship. He finds that the troopers are far too experienced for the young padawan, and is only an inconvenience. However, he manages to tap into the force involuntarily. His wild swing slices through the cover for the clones and creates some cover for the jedi instead.

Ok. Here's the interesting roll.
07:38, Today: Den Jaxon rolled no successes, 1 advantage, 1 triumph using the Star Wars Edge of the Empire with a dice pool of 1A 2P 2D 1B with rolls of 6(A), 1(P), 12(P), 1(D), 2(D), 2(B).  Lightsaber.
