Ah no problem. Thought there were two slots. I'll shift my move to after the clones.

Re: The Cantina - Part Deux (OOC)

Ok. So I moved my action and rerolled.

07:38, Today: Den Jaxon rolled no successes, 1 advantage, 1 triumph using the Star Wars Edge of the Empire with a dice pool of 1A 2P 2D 1B with rolls of 6(A), 1(P), 12(P), 1(D), 2(D), 2(B).  Lightsaber.

So I miss, but get a triumph. What benefit can we get from this? I can edit my post once we come up with something good.

My idea is that I slashed some of the obstacles that creates cover for us as we make our way to the ship.

Re: The Cantina - Part Deux (OOC)

Triumphs can do all the effects Advantages can do (+1 Melee or Ranged Defense, activate abilities, etc.), but can also Upgrade the difficulty of the targeted enemy's next check, upgrade the next check of you or anyone else on the team, or do something vital like hit the controls to the blast doors to seal them shut.

Re: The Cantina - Part Deux (OOC)

With Jedi you can do even more, using a bit of the Force to knock people off balance, do a flip over someone to a spot, etc.. Nothing to the level of using the full Force power, but kind of like cantrip style affect (if you are familiar with D&D, 0 level spells which is like creating a few swirling balls of light that doesn't do anything but distract or confuse, or change someones skin color temporarily, things like that).

Since you were talking about clearing a path, a little Force nudge to make them shuffle clear of the center as you attack would work fine and clear your way to get into the ship.

Re: The Cantina - Part Deux (OOC)

And I think the advantage can be a boost to the next ally. The troopers weren't expecting a padawan to be able to clear the way such as he did.

Re: The Cantina - Part Deux (OOC)

That works, Den. Please modify your post accordingly and others can go..

I guess that is just Raana left. So I believe the player said he would be gone this weekend, but not sure if he's available to post today, so we'll probably have to wait until Monday or later to continue.

Re: The Cantina - Part Deux (OOC)

Sorry for the delay. Reading through the post I'm not quite clear what's left to fight around the shuttle. Am I right in assuming that there is only one officer standing there?

Re: The Cantina - Part Deux (OOC)

There were two groups of people we were fighting.  Officer at our ship with troopers there, and a Junior Officer with troopers in front of another shuttle (which is where I think our Master is).  I stabbed up the  Officer at our ship in order to break up the defense there to allow us to escape more easily.

So the troopers (minions) next to our ship are still unhurt and ready for hot lightsaber action?

I believe so!  I'll probably be Dark Side raging on this Officer a little more, so feel free to have my back!  ^_~

Re: The Cantina - Part Deux (OOC)

One thing I'm going to need clarification on is what happened last round.  Is it the Officer that I'm fighting that went from 2 failures and 1 threat to 2 failures and 3 Advantages from the forgotten Boost (which I don't understand as that would require two Boost dice to give the 4 Advantage deficit). Or was that the one fighting the Jedi Master?

I don't quite understand if I'm fighting the one that has +1 Melee Defense right now?  It would help if you gave us a bit of clarification on which is where that you're rolling for.

Re: The Cantina - Part Deux (OOC)

I see what your talking about now, that was an error. It should have been 2 failures 1 advantage.. not 3. I ended up adding the advantages instead of subtracting from the threat. So he doesn't actually have +1 defense for cover. We can just leave the narrative, but you can just move around the strut without hindrance. He will instead give a boost back to their next ally.

Re: The Cantina - Part Deux (OOC)

Raana is attacking the clone troopers and managed a hit by a narrow margin:

19:12, Today: Raana De'Fenn rolled 1 success, 2 advantages using the Star Wars Edge of the Empire with a dice pool of 3A 1P 1B 2D with rolls of 5(A), 5(A), 6(A), 2(P), 5(B), 4(D), 7(D).  Attacking clone troopers, boost for aiming.

That is 7 damage, breach 1, which should finish one off. A single advantage will activate a critical hit, killing another.

I would very much like to use the last advantage to notice something about the fight, and have a specific thing in mind. So far, Raana is convinced those are not clones but impostors. Nothing else can make sense for her. I wonder if for one advantage I can narrate her taking the head off one of them clean, only to see the helmet roll off the head as it lands on the floor, reviling a clone's head.

Let me know if that works, and if the 7-damage blow kills one and wounds another, as I suspect, and I'll get an IC post up.

Again, apologies for the delay, I was away all weekend and had a bunch of stuff I had to catch up on.

Re: The Cantina - Part Deux (OOC)

That would work fine, a crit kill allows for beheading on minions, or just cracking the helmet open with a blow that reveals half the face. Either would work in that context. The latter could be used to more effect. The clone reveals his last words as he dies are just a mantra, "must kill Jedi.." over and over, as if he is repeating programming and not using his own free will.

Re: The Cantina - Part Deux (OOC)

Sorry, didn't answer the first part.. I thought I wrote it earlier, but I got a cross post and must not have gone back and sent it. They have Soak 4 and max wounds of 5, but you ignore soak with lightsabers (with breach 1 = 10 soak bypass)

Re: The Cantina - Part Deux (OOC)

Alright that brings us to Round 3.   I can have the Master go again. He does have a cool talent, Unity Assault.  If a missed attack generates Triumph or 3 advantages, he can spend a Force power targeting allies as a maneuver. So he can basically use protect on one or more of the Jedi. But that's only on a miss..

So, Oppo's not in much danger at the moment. You might want to have someone go in your group before the clones officers attack. I leave that up to you to decide.

I'll try to go in order to finish off the Officer that I'm fighting?  Or at least attempt to finish him off.

Sounds good to me. Raana might be able to take another hit, assuming our GM doesn't roll too good.

Re: The Cantina - Part Deux (OOC)

Yes, I meant to announce it earlier. Please welcome  Keilbrun "Kyle" Osh's player. He does a very good job of role-playing and writing narrative, and using dice results creatively. We had several great candidates, so picking one wasn't easy, but that's a good problem to have. I wish I could add most of them, but I don't want to go more than 5, and I don't have enough free time to run a second one.

Re: The Cantina - Part Deux (OOC)

There is still one injured clone trooper at the Shrieking Acklay (I updated the Scene Information thread to show the status of all known enemies, and pasted the initial description of the scene for easier reference).

I am working on the jr. clone officer at the shuttle's turn currently. He will attack Jedi Master Oppo Rancisis, if my main computer would stop crashing.  :<

Who wants to take the 3rd PLAYER initiative slot after that?
