The Databank
System: Uviuy Exen
Main Planet: Thira (4th planet from system star, and the only habitable celestial body)
Moons: 1 (Gallifrey) Rocky moon, unihabitable.
Type: Terrestrial
Length of Day: 28 hours
Length of Year: 285 days
The planet Thira, as it's called by most of the natives, is an iron planet in a densely populated solar system with nineteen other planets.
Terrain: Ocean
Ocean planets are dominated by huge bodies of water or other liquid. The oceans are very deep because the geologic activity has created great mountainous regions (islands are often the peaks of small mountains that emanate from the ocean's floor). These planets may be searing to frigid, although frigid oceans will often be covered by huge glacial sheets of ice.
Temperature: Temperate
The temperature of the planet is average, around 4 to 17 Celsius year round on average. Seasons vary a few percentage points from this during winter and summer.
Gravity: Standard
Standard gravity is that which is most common on Imperial worlds, and therefore most comfortable for most species. Standard gravity includes several gradients of true gravitational pull, but is placed within this convenient grouping.
Atmosphere: Type I (Breathable)
A type I atmosphere has a proper mixture of oxygen, nitrogen and other gases so that humans and comparable species can breathe it unassisted. These atmospheres may have contaminants that over the long term have a detrimental effect.
Planets with a type I atmosphere will have life or at least had life recently.
Hydrosphere: Moderate
The planet is 35 percent covered by land.
The planet has large oceans and a well developed river network, with large hills and steep mountains. The plant-like organisms on this planet are bushes, with a few flowers and smaller shrubs mixed in. Trees are non-existent and fungi are so rare they might as well be. However, the bushes can grow in odd shapes and reach unexpected heights. Some can be confused for trees from afar, while others look like a group of flowers from up close. The few flower species that do exist emit incredible scents, while the shrubs tend to be hidden in plain sight, as they often look like a bush.
Surprisingly, the underwater world of this planet has an abudance of primitive hard corals, but soft corals are extremely rare and only found in very specific regions. The hard corals are mostly nothing more than a shell with a flower-like organism growing out of it, which filters nutrients out of the ocean. But these hard corals already make for a gorgeous underwater world, despite them being all fairly similar to each other.
Starport: Stellar Class (6 spaceports are listed on this planet)
This type of spaceport can dock and service almost any class of ship. There are several spaceports on six cities on the planet, and they all can handle minor repairs and modifications. Only three of them can handle major repairs or installations. There is a Republic Customs office on site for each of them.
Population: 33 million
Main Cities: (in order by highest to lowest population), Akayna*#, Ebralt*, Kaedi*, Fimuru*, Yelan*, Alyki*, Dega, Tetis, Neinu.
* indicates the city has a starport.
# indicates the capital.
Function: Natural Resources
This planet utilizes naturally occurring resources such as wood (for logging), animal skins, and glaciers ("harvested" for fresh water). The volcanic activity creates many varied metal ores that are brought up from the mantel, which are the chief export of this planet.
Government: Monarchy
A type of government where absolute authority is granted to one individual, often called a king or queen. The leadership position is normally granted by heredity. Planets may have patriarchal (only male rulers) or matriarchal (only female rulers) societies.
Tech Level: Space
This is the stage of most planets within galactic civilization, and is characterized by hyperspace travel, droids, blasters, and highly efficient industry. Planets at this level are often integrated into the galactic economy, and produce many goods for export, but also import many goods.
