It doesn't look like wolves were involved in the fellow's death, as there are no paw prints and the claw marks don't look to have come from the blunt claws of a wolf. What could have caused them? Jagged fingernails seems most likely.
In addition to the two puncture marks on the jugular, there are numerous other human bite marks all over the body.

A true vampyre, like Strahd, views the taking of blood as a sort of mix between a seduction and the eating of a fine meal: something to be savored, and not rushed. It would be terribly uncouth to do so.
Spawn have no such table manners. Ruled by their base instincts, they gobble their food. . in this case, quite literally.

I thought we took the talkative one to Lucian, and then after interrogating him, burnt him.

Having read back through the archives, I see that while Oz suggested taking the trapped spawn back to Lucian along with the reliquary, nobody else liked the idea and it was abandoned, thus the torturing/questioning session did in fact occur back at the workshop. I didn't realize we'd traveled back there to do that part, but we certainly seem to have. A pity.
My statement about voting to have them hauled to the chapel remains accurate, however. So Alaric can take his guilt trip and slap someone else with it.

Oz wanted to bring them with us, but we never agreed on a plan. In fact, most of that discussion was in the OOC thread, so in character we didn't even really discuss it much (which is pretty weird).
In any case, we basically just ended up moving on without resolving it.

I'm all for plans, but it takes about a week to get everyone's input on something. We have so very many tantalizing main quest and side quest lines to follow -- the ins and outs of operating a winch isn't one of them :P

I don't know what's plot-relevant and what's not, so I can't drive any scene-skipping. I've assumed instances where we sit around and debate are intentional pacing exercises. If we're overthinking things or bogging things down, I'm happy to be told that so we can move on to other interesting points of the story.
We also don't have consensus as to what to do or where to go, which stymie's our efforts a bit.

If someone can't be bothered to post, then we shouldn't be bothered to wait on that person's opinion. In theory, the 48 hour and then you take the Hold action we are supposed to be doing during combat could apply to RP and story scenes as well (though I'd be fine with cutting it to 24 hours for speeding things up purposes, personally).
I'm also all for an OoC poll on doodle or something that we run when a contentious choice has to be made. Run the poll, tally the votes and do whatever the poll says (or split the party) and let Sarah narrate a paragraph of "debate" and then we move on.
I think both of those would speed things up considerably.

I'm cool with that. The games I run have a rule where if any player has failed to post for 3 days, they go on "autofollow", which means the DM plays the character until they return. That character fades to the background, does little, and doesn't really participate in combat, but they contribute as needed, as determined by the DM, who has access to everyone's motivations and backgrounds and whatnot.
If a situation truly needs everyone's input, I used to mark it with a [Crossroads] tag. Nothing would happen until everyone had chimed in for those situations. But the 3-day rule still applied so it wasn't an infinite hurdle.

GM, 400 posts Goddess of Destruction Love Me & Despair Thu 2 Nov 2017 at 20:41 | Re: MiscChris is kind to try and blame people arguing endlessly for the recent tepid response to this campaign, but the fault is mine as well, I will admit. Aaron posted in his online campaign at a very steady clip, with posts coming fast and frequently. I unfortunately am only good for one or two posts minimum each day, most of this due to the fact that the source material comes from a book which I must consult and which, of course, is not accessible at work.
I've also been nice and have attempted to wait until I was dead sure that a consensus was reached before moving things along. Probably a bad move on my part. From henceforth when I find myself with time to make a post, I'll proceed based on what's been discussed thus far. If it's a big decision, I'll indicate somehow that I would like everyone's opinion and we'll go from there. For instance, I've indicated that you were able to successfully dispose of the vampyre spawn in the boxes, because that was not terribly important all things concerned. Your next decision--how to go about searching for the AWOL spawn and what to do about the Vallaki leadership is a bit of a larger decision, so I"ll give you a day or so to ruminate on that. If somebody proposed "Hey, let's go storm Ravenloft right fucking now," then I'd likely want to get a consensus.
Sound good?

Also, while I'm having lots of fun running the Oz & Joaquin Show, it would be kinda super if the rest of my wayward party would mind chiming in every so often.

player, 207 posts Silver for monsters Steel for men Tue 21 Nov 2017 at 18:17 | Re: MiscPart of the issue is that neither Alaric nor Viktoriya really care about Vallaki at the moment. For now, they are each content (for different reasons) to follow the group. So unless we explicitly make an opinion known, you can just assume we're following majority decision.
Alaric kind of wants to meet this Lady Wachter, but in general is more focused on getting Ireena to the Abbey. If Ireena wants to confront Izek, then he'll be there for that.

There's a lot of content to explore. The problem is that all of those glorious hooks have landed on different party members. We all want to do something different, and because it's a binary, time-sensitive choice, we've ended up stalled.
Oz would love to topple Vargas's power here, but he'd also be willing to chat with Lady Wachter, ferret out werewolves, hunt down the wayward spawn, or head to the abbey. And obviously I'd love to look into this ancient dragon thing that was mentioned a few times, or perhaps Vargas Jr.'s necromantic tendencies. So many great things, and so little time.
Do others have more clear priorities?
