Revised battle grid is up, now that the fight is over.  It's bigger than the last one, but with high-res hexes that are in the correct ratio.  Everything looks really small when you open the slide, but just use the zoom tool to close in on the action and you should have no trouble selecting your guy.  Also, we're all hexagonal now, thanks to Matt!  Enemies will probably still be square, but that makes them easy to tell apart.

Give it a look - it's big enough that we shouldn't ever have to worry about running out of room.  And remember - zoom tool is your friend.

P.S. It's so much fun to watch the guy who uses too few apostrophes arguing with the guy who uses way too many apostrophes over apostrophes.

I wasn't going to say anything but then he put an apostrophe-free contraction into his bio. I'm an editor. It is figuratively killing me.

So, I've pre-emptively rolled a medicine check on this chick, to see if she needs healing before we start questioning her.  I have no interest in having her pass out from the strain of having to talk to us.  What would that need to be to know exactly what her state is?  Also, is there anyone else with medicine that could help with this check for rolling advantage purposes?

I've got cure wounds available so that we can boost her up if we need to do so.

Let Sarah know what you rolled and she can tell you what you know.  Depending on your result and the difficulty of diagnosis, some of your info may or may not be accurate.

Cool; medicine check results noted.

I have also used my DM powers to add an apostrophe to Tobias' flavor text.

Also, after the next long rest I'm thinking about dropping Healing Word and Command from my prepared spells and replacing them with Guiding Bolt and Detect Evil/Good. They both just seem way more relevant in a town with undead and a powerful vampyre fucking with people.  Any thoughts from people that have played clerics before?

That seems like a good idea.  Command isn't likely to work on things immune to charm, which most undead are.  If you've got Cure Wounds, you're probably ok without Healing Word.  Besides, I plan to take that spell when I get my first bard level.  Detect Evil/Good can alert us to nearby undead (or fiends or celestials), but Alaric's pendant kind of does that anyway, so maybe a different spell instead.  You can change out your prepared spells anytime you take a long rest, though, so if you don't like your load-out, just change it up.

Just some ideas for moving forward.

So forgive for not listing them as I don't a PHB in front of me but we should really make sure that we have spells that create daylight/sunlight or bestow it onto items.  I have a feeling that it might be a handy thing to be able to have at some point.  Obviously this will have to be once we get to a higher level.

As far as holy water goes, both Tobias and Joaquin are able to create holy water using 1 hour of time and 25gp.  I plan on making what basically equates to Holy Water Balloons for myself.  I recommend that you all carry something similar if possible.  Sarah, can you specify how much water we can make holy at one go?

The PHB says "a flask," which deals 2d6 radiant if lobbed water balloon style at a creature. Or you can splash it on a creature 5 feet away without having to throw it. But only an undead/fiend creature.  It's not as though your friends would take radiant damage if you broke a flask of holy water over their heads.  (Unless your friends are secretly ALL VAMPIRES TOO.)

25gp per flask is over budget ATM. Cool concept though!

FYI - silvering weapons costs 100 gp per. That's probably a better use of immediate funds than consumables. FYI if shit hits the fan I have a flask of holy water.

Agreed on both points.  I was imagining that the 25gp would go quite a bit farther than just a single flask.  Silvering is absolutely number one priority.  That and some stakes.  Also maybe some steaks.

I'm in favor of both types of stake/steaks. Heartily so.

Also, don't give The Witcher credit for Aeryis content. I believe the Fire Lord and the church of Dawn to be references to Finwe and Auriel/Selena, respectively :)

Maybe care is the wrong word. Assuming that gods have restrictions on the extent to which they can interact with the mortal world, and churches have limited resources, those two churches are the most likely organizations to be expected to deal with something like Strahd.

Characters from our previous campaign that Aaron ran.  At the end of it, everyone, with the exception of my character, chose to ascend and become gods.  The Magees played super-lame elves who were insipidly in love with each other.  Chris was a nature warlock who didn't bathe.  Keef was. . . Keef.

Selena, N/G, Goddess of Love and Light*

Auriel, N/G, God of Hope and Light*

Boreas, C/G, God of Nature and Natural Scents

Keef, C/N, Child Godling of the Arcane, Doorways, Lions, and Toads

*Auriel and Selena are a two-faced deity and share a single divinity.
