"No," said Dorothy, firmly.  "We don't do it to be awesome for fans.  We do it to help people.  That means that the important part is helping them, saving them.  The fighting part might be fun, sometimes, but it's not why we do this.  We do this to help people and save lives."

"Then-then you got to do the important part, right?" Tug asked.

"Yes, we did," said Goodwitch.  "We were lucky this time.  None of the innocent bystanders that you endangered were badly hurt."

"No, you already admitted that it was you," said Goodwitch.  "Actions have consequences; we have to deal with all of those consequences."

"Is that actually true?" said Goodwitch.  "We stopped anyone from dying.  That doesn't mean no one was hurt.  It doesn't mean that people weren't forced out into the street, and can't even go back into the place that they live until the authorities determine that it's safe.  I mean, I don't know what's going to happen to them.  But they're scared, and some of them are hurt, and some of them don't know where they're sleeping tonight.  Some of them lost possessions, or had them damaged by smoke or water.  All this fighting has consequences, especially if it's giant monsters fighting in a city!"

Goodwitch hesitated, then knelt and hugged her.

"...it's all right," she said.  "You didn't know.  I understand that.  You're not from this world, and humans don't work the way that you do, right?  You see the big, cool, impressive stuff, but you never wind up seeing the aftermath.  And that's not your fault.  You made a mistake, but everybody does that.  And we learn, and we do better.  And that's all right."

There was more advice that she could give, but right now, Tug needed some reassurance.  And some forgiveness.

"I understand," said Goodwitch.  "Well, look.  Next time, why don't you just wait for a crisis to show up, and then watch us live?  That way, you're getting the real picture."

Dorothy sighed.

"Sorry, everyone," she said.  "I was hoping that I could get her to go away faster than that."

She did pick up the paper, though,  Keeping promises wasvery important, when dealing with supernatural entities especially!

It appeared to be Tug's e-mail address, it was a string of letters at some similar looking gibberish.

She copied that down into her phone.

"Uh, so does anyone know where we are relative to the base?" she asked.

"Well, then," said Dorothy.  She took a few moments to scry for the destination, and then opened a portal back to the tower.  Back to home.
