Nice job bringing Mosk & Co. down while taking minimal damage. They can almost one-shot any one of you without having to crit to do it, and if they do crit they can easily one-shot you.

Kay, that short hallway inside the secret door has a wall sconce that provides light in the area. You don't see anything at all in there besides the two different doors.

Lindria Lorlach:
"So, do we take out the room of Redbrand mercenaries or find the captives first?" Lindria rolls her shoulders, trying to work the tension of the previous fight and injury out of her muscles. "I would think that with the food supply Torg has provided the one-eyed creature, the captives aren't in immediate danger..."

Restating Lindria's previous post as it may have been missed since I posted shortly after it.

There are some things that happen at timed intervals around here, so I need to know for sure what we're planning to do so that I can direct the dungeon components accordingly. You're free to go whichever way you choose, I just need to know what the plans are.

This is the current list of things we know:
  1. We've got a room full of Redbrands on the west side, above where you fought the bugbears.
  2. We've got the rooms you're currently in right now that just presented three new directions to go (stairs and 2 doors).
  3. We've also got two other passageways that haven't been looked into yet.

A side quest I forgot to mention during Saturday night's session when you rescued the prisoners

Side Quest: Mirna's Heirloom. Though her family has
nothing to offer as a reward, Mirna tells the characters
that she might know where a valuable heirloom is hidden.
When she was a young girl, she and her family fled from
the town of Thundertree after undead overran the place.
Her family had an herb and alchemy shop, inside which a
case containing an emerald necklace was hidden beneath
a section of storage shelves. She never dared to return
and retrieve it. The shop was in the southeast part of
Thundertree.

More information from the book Torg found that was written in Dwarven:

Among the books is a tome written in Dwarvish. The
journal of an adventurer named Urmon, it describes the
history of the Lost Mine of Phandelver and the Forge of
Spells.

More than five hundred years ago, clans of dwarves and
gnomes made an agreement known as the Phandelver's
Pact, by which they would share a rich mine in a wondrous
cavern known as Wave Echo Cave. In addition to its
mineral wealth, the mine contained great magical power.
Human spellcasters allied themselves with the dwarves
and gnomes to channel and bind that energy into a great
forge (called the Forge of Spells), where magic items could
be crafted. Times were good, and the nearby human town
of Phandalin (pronounced fan-duh-lin) prospered as well.
But then disaster struck when ores swept through the
North and laid waste to all in their path.

A powerful force of orcs reinforced by evil mercenary
wizards attacked Wave Echo Cave to seize its riches and
magic treasures. Human wizards fought alongside their
dwarf and gnome allies to defend the Forge of Spells, and
the ensuing spell battle destroyed much of the cavern.
Few survived the cave-ins and tremors, and the location of
Wave Echo Cave was lost.

Urmon records that a magic
mace named Lightbritiger was commissioned by priests
of Lathander, the god of dawn, from the rnages working
with the gnomes and dwarves of the Phandelver's Pact.
The mace was lost when Wave Echo Cave and its mine
vanished from history.

Yep. I posted that the first night after everyone else had gone to bed. I wanted to make sure it was recorded there in case I forgot about it the following day.

My trip to Pampa this week got cancelled, we're going to push the software upgrade to May 20 instead, and they're not planning on have me travel for it after all.

So, I'm going to work on getting character sheets and such updated here, in Google Docs, and the paper copies as well. Once I've got everything updated, we'll get things moving again on here.

I feel silly. I've been waiting for Psynister to post the recap in the actual dungeon info. I found in in the recap section. Silly me. I vote we have a short rest, I'll use Song of Rest, and then we can resume looking for the amulet before following the druid to cragmaw castle.

How would you like to handle the rest of Thundertree village? Do you want to get the necklace and them move on to Cragmaw, or do you want to fully explore Thundertree first?

There are a few encounters, so some XP to gain, but otherwise very little to find here. Do we want to go for max-XP, or do we want to push on with the plot and proceed to Cragmaw?

Reaching Cragmaw Castle will take most of a day. You can either travel there and then venture in during the dark of night, or you can get close to it, camp, and then head in either early morning or mid-day.

Will it be enough xp to level us before we go to Cragmaw? If not, I vote we go close to Cragmaw, camp out, and then check it out in the morning.

Re: OOC: Out of Character
You're currently just under 4,000 XP away from leveling again. The total XP from fully exploring Thundertree is 350. So it won't level you up at all, but it will get you closer. That's about 5 or 6 encounters-worth. The Dragon was the only substantial source of XP there.

If you do the bare minimum at Cragmaw, you'll get 3x that amount there. If you do everything there is to do at Cragmaw, then you're looking at closer to 10x the amount.

Re: OOC: Out of Character
Sorry I've been so MIA with Jason getting things going again. I was just called into the YW pres, right in time for a big fundraiser event tomorrow night, so I've been busy this week!

Lindria won't mind clearing out some of the less savory denizens of Thundertree, but she wouldn't want to spend a ton of time on it, now that we finally have our guide to Cragmaw. Perhaps the druid can guide us toward some of the more unsavory inhabitants on the morning of our departure? Since the plan is to camp at the end of our traveling, spending an hour or so "clearing things up" might be a good compromise.

Re: OOC: Out of Character
The new in-character thread is up for the Dungeon: Wave Echo Cave.

I don't have character sheets updated on here, but I'll get there and let everyone know when it's done.

I'll update the character sheets in Google Docs first since they're a little simpler and more necessary in case we need to print off new ones.

Re: OOC: Out of Character
I think I have everything caught up on the character sheets, rewards, etc.

So we should be able to get back to playing here whenever people are ready. Jenny's about to be gone for a week for Girl's Camp, and then gone for another week to be with her mom to help with things while her step-father recovers from his stroke. With that, things might be a little bit slow until mid-June.
