Dungeon: Redbrand Hideout
Perturbed that magic had no effect, Kaynox shouts "Whilst you're immune to my poetic insults, you're muscles will falter by my blade," and slips around the wrestling Torg and Mosk, pulling her rapier from her waist. She slams the blade into Mosk's thick thigh.

Torg attempted to grapple the large goblinoid, but Mosk's combination of strength and dexterity proved to be more than a match for the big man. Grapple fails

Lindria stabbed Mosk again, this time drawing blood from the beast's thigh, causing a stream to shoot out and splash against Torg's stomach. 9 damage

Mosk faltered at the rapid loss of blood, but wasn't done just yet. He swung the morningstar at Lindria once again, a wild swing that looked as though it would take the head clean off of her shoulders. But, it smashed into the wall instead, and he dropped to one knee as his strength streamed out of body through the gash in his leg. Miss AC 9

Kaynox vaulted over to the fray, performed a cartwheel between Torg's legs that would have failed miserably if his knee hadn't nudged her back upright, and landed on the other side of him. She trust out with the slim blade with all the might and speed that her tiny little body could muster, and it sank deep into his lungs causing a sharp intake of breath.

Mosk looked down at tiny blade with a look of amazement, blinking his eyes as if to try to focus. He dropped his morningstar and raised his hand to brush the eyepatch away from his face, revealing that his second eye was completely functional. He moved his mouth as if to speak but no sounds escaped. He tried to sit up straight, looked Lindria in the eyes and then fell dead against the south wall. 11 damage, 9 overkill

End of Combat: Victory!

Lindria gasps and drops her swords to the ground. While clutching her wounded side with one hand, her other delves into her pack and rifles around a bit before emerging with a small vial clutched in her strained grip. She pops the cork with her thumb before downing the crimson liquid.

Uses healing potion.
15:55, Today: Lindria Lorlach rolled 8 using 2d4+2.  Healing Potion.

The pain mostly subsides after a moment and she glances around the room, a still slightly pained expression on her face. After snatching the jeweled eye patch, she sneers and spits on Mosk. "Vile thing.

"If there's anything else we want, we should grab it quickly and move on. I fear we are far from done here."
Lindria retrieves her swords and moves to exit the room.

Kaynox nods, briefly looking through Mosk's and the goblin's pockets. She was proud of her kills--she was already composing her tale in her mind already.
Remembering she has a heal spell, she asks Lindria if she needs a heal.

Feeling great pain as a result of the bugbear's attack, Lindria drunk the healing potion she'd found in the goblins' hideout. The liquid burned as it went down her throat, and as it landed in her stomach a chill flashed through her body before the sensations were gone. Blood still stained her shirt and armor where the spikes had been driven through and into her skin, but the wound itself had closed. Her ribs felt bruised and breathing brought some pain and discomfort, but a bit of sleep would likely take care of most of that. Restored 8 hp

Kaynox checked Mosk's pockets and then the goblin, finding little. PM:

Now that combat is over, Lindria is able to assess the situation and what she heard before you entered the room, concluding that the goblin was most likely a slave to the more powerful bugbears.

Torg stoops and without much strain hauls the corps of the nearest bugbear up over his left shoulder and starts to make his way out the door and down the hall to the one eyed beast.

Torg speaks up loud enough for his companions to hear; "There are captives that are meant to feed the eyed one, Skeletons guard them, and the bugbear with the covered eye holds the key. Have we as yet searched the bodies, or has the eyed one possibly just ate the key?

"Ooh," Kaynox squeals excitedly. "I have a key." She fumbles through her pockets, pulling out a grimey key. "This one tells of tales too yucky for us to hear." She waves the key around Torg's knees.

"So, do we take out the room of Redbrand mercenaries or find the captives first?" Lindria rolls her shoulders, trying to work the tension of the previous fight and injury out of her muscles. "I would think that with the food supply Torg has provided the one-eyed creature, the captives aren't in immediate danger..."

Kaynox moved in the direction the creature had indicated, crossing the bridge and moving to the northwest. Seeing nothing but walls and flirt, dirt and cobwebs, she moved stealthily to the north where she saw another room that had no door but was too far away to see into previously. She detected no one inside the room, so she stepped around the corner to have a better look inside.

This area is the north end of the large natural cavern, but it has been finished with dressed stone block walls and a flagstone floor. Several barrels are stored against the walls here, along with a number of empty crates, straw for packing, hammers, pry bars, and nails.

The storage room did not appear to have any doors inside it.

Torg moved to stand near the room that Kay had just found, confused as to how they were supposed to proceed.

Meanwhile Kaynox decided to move inside for a closer look. The little nook in the north east corner stood out to her so she started there. As she got up close to the wall she could see a nearly invisible break in the stone, outlining a doorway. Having discovered that, she looked for the means to open it and found another smaller outline. She pressed her hand against it, and the secret door slid open. The door revealed a short hallway, with one door directly across from here and one at the southern end.

Seeing what Kaynox had just done, Torg took a closer look at the wall nearest to him and discovered a similar mechanism. Using the same technique he saw from Kaynox, his door also swung open, revealing a stairway leading down.
