Founding Oz - Wyld Free-hold?
I believe Lurline was also meant to be responsible for creating Ozma, but as with anything with that many works in it canonicity + ret cons = ?

If we're establishing something about the nature of Autumn + Spring and their connection to Oz perhaps it is the case that it was a Spring court originally but when the court's power reduced along with Autumns with Summer and Winter being the major forces then it might be the balance of power within Oz rule adjusted slightly. Wild Fae increased, Autumn made its presence known and it's now more of a shared holding with a Spring ruler at the top?

Makes sense.

She is referred to as Princess.  Leaders of  city/states with no authority above them would be called kings/queens.

Founding Oz - Wyld Free-hold?
Control:
I'm thinking that a Twigjack is a primal fae embodiment of the everliving forest.   Some are good and cute and nice;  others not so much, just like all other species and individuals...  However, when they manifest in an urban setting, their presence will not-so-slowly transform the area into a veritable woodlands.  They are rare, difficult to contain.  Me, I rather envision a variation on Baby Groot.

As an aside.... Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 is pretty awesome!

Seems a fair working theory...  Perhaps Marcus might get more insight, if the game goes that way!

My replacement got approval yesterday.   Likely moving at the end of the month.  I need to find out if I'm going to lose the damage deposit for not giving them 30 days notice...

Re: Founding Oz - Wyld Free-hold?
I once had an absolute dream landlord rental company.

I was moving from the US to Canada right as 9/11 hit.   As a result of increased border security and the immediate aftershock of those events, I was denied re-entry to the US.  The only things I had to do, really, was pack up the last of my clothes, drive a bunch of furniture to the salvation army, pack up my cat and fly her to my new home...  Well, that all got all shot to hell.

I had friends empty the place out and take whatever they wanted.  I flew one of them to BC for the weekend to bring my cat to me.  And the rental place, despite not cleaning the apartment at all, gave the deposit back in its' entirety!  Five years of being a good tenant helped, apparently.

Here.  I don't know.   I might give notice for mid-month, instead.  There's enough oil & gas coming back that they won't have any difficulty renting the place out.

Re: Founding Oz - Wyld Free-hold?
Never had that, always been pulling teeth getting landlords to turn over the deposit (3 years being the worse). That said my favourite one was a former landlord who took slightly below two years, however the two of us saw each other face to face after I left since a close friend moved into where I had been not long after. He was never happy to see me around when he checked in on the place, likely because I opened up with the greeting "Where's my money?" without fail.

Re: Founding Oz - Wyld Free-hold?
Well, well...  After having some issues (three eviction notices over the past four years--all of them wrongful due to clerical errors on their part) I took to taking the rent check in every month in person...  Developed a bit of a rapport with the girls at the office.  I guess it paid off.   The company policy is to give 30-days notice by the calendar month.   When I explained that I'd rather not pay a full month for an apartment I'm not actually living in... she agreed to back-date the 30-days notice.   More flies with honey than vinegar, I guess.

I confirmed that the movers are on-board for the end of the month.  And then I got a call from the HR at the new site about early processing of my new license.

So far, things seem to be going smoothly...

Only thing I gotta work on is cleaning out and selling the truck.  In two weeks.  Though I appear to have a contingency...  A coworker who is willing to sell the truck on my behalf if I can't unload it before I go.  With luck, its sale will cover the cost of the move.

Not Quite Healing...  But...
In reading through some of the DFRPG stuff, I came across the singular fact that Black Court Vampires use and shape ectoplasm to give themselves the flesh mask.

It seems reasonable to me that a caster with a desire to do some field-level magical triage might choose to use ectoplasm to form some sort of tourniquet, or perhaps even something that could substitute for some sort of bodily function.

I imagine that it would be really difficult for someone to create a temporary "ectoplasmic liver" without understanding precisely how a regular liver functions--in minute detail.  But it would be possible.   A work-around to address that particular issue might be to contract with a spirit of the Nevernever to take on that responsibility....

What to do now?

Okay, so...  I'm expecting the 27th to be my last day at work here.  I start work at the new place on the 4th.  In between, I have to move.

What do you guys want to do in the mean time?

I can set up a IC thread for us to socialize in-character, if you like, but I won't be getting into anything until after I move.  And there will be periods of no-contact as I disconnect internet service, etc...  Would that work for y'all?

What to do now?
I think once Markus gets some sort of trouble we can start messing around to get a feel for our characters.  We can fill in some of this stuff on the fly.

Yup.  There's no obligation to fill it all out.

However, I do want the High-Concept, Trouble and at least one Aspect defined by the time we start.  Marcus has offered some in his thread...

This list just helps me keep track of what's what and what's available.  No need for me to remind you that you can add another Aspect if you've already got them all!

What to do now?

Well, my apartment is about half packed-up.  I've packed up the game books, so it's a good thing this is a PDF...

My replacement has taken over--and I'm spending time teaching her whatever I can...  but she's ensuring I have a lot of time to come and go and take care of my stuff.   It's nice to be released from most of my responsibilities.  It feels odd to not have the final say on everything anymore.  Kinda nice.  I'm already sleeping better than I used to.

So...  Since we're done or close to done with characters, I've created an in-character thread to keep us busy before we get into the real story.  I don't want you all losing interest, after all!

00.01: Good Times at the Moonrise Cafe is an in-character thread.  It formally takes places after The Stories We Share and before the first story of this game.

Let's say this is a few months after the Twigjack Incident.  Your characters have had an excuse to know each other.  There's some levels of trust there.

You have free reign here to make things up.  If you have any problem with something someone has introduced, bring it up in the OOC thread.

Private threads?
Hm.  Something I'd seen in another game...

The GM had set-up a thread for each player, limited to just that player, for the player to keep notes related to the game, unposted text, drafts of to-be-posted text, etc.  I use something similar for GM-only stuff...

Do you guys see any value in having a private thread for your own use?

Meh.... I have a couple people in my campaigns who just set up in the Private Messages to the GM for 'Notes.' How much they use it fluctuates.

Private threads?
Also curious...

With my move impending (my last day at work is a week away), I've packed up almost everything...  The Computer is a lifeline of activity right now.

I created the IC thread "Good Times at the Moonrise Cafe" to keep people active and involved
but, admitted, Marcus and The Marshall haven't logged in since before that.   I'm still hoping someone other than Gordon might push the shared story forward, too.

I've had this experience before... Lots of discussion about character development, but when it comes time to do some story-development or story roleplaying...  it gets quiet and slow.

I also worry that the discussion regarding Rituals has alienated Agnes' player.  Last I heard, she was considering changing her Aspects around, but I haven't seen anything on that front.

Of course, it may just be preparations for going camping on Memorial Day (Or is that just a Canadian tradition?)   I might just be worrying for nothing.
