Marcus:
"Seattle is in some ways a write off due to Fomor activity it's somewhere they can test without losing much in the event of failure."

Hey. What is Pamela's position in the White Court? Is she super high up there in charge of things, or is she working her way up the ranks? Because that distinction could color Luke's world significantly.

If she's already a heavy hitter herself, she might be positioned in Seattle specifically to make sure no one else gets it. A solid White Court foothold. If she's a minor player intent on becoming major, they might have placed her here as Marcus said, a disposable attempt at taking the city.

I thought I saw some reference to her being in charge of the whole White Court in one of the threads, but I can't remember where right now. Looking to get a handle on the current setup.

My thoughts for Pamela is that she is at or near the top of the White Court *in Seattle* and trying to use her position there to take over House Malvora, then the White Court as a whole. That is not necessarily a short term plan.

Now, she could have arranged to be assigned here in a city the White Court sees as disposable, as a step higher up in the food chain, with plans to build alliances to boost her even higher, while at the same time being underestimated/written off by her peers and superiors around the country. That sort of perception play is very White Court.

Hey folks;

I got called in to work a day early.

For the near future, I'm working 4 x 10-hour night shifts.  Only downside is that I'm going with rush-hour traffic to get there so a normally 10-minute drive takes me over an hour to get there.  Blech.  I'll be pretty much offline from 10pm to 11am GMT (6pm-7am EST, 3pm-4am PST) Sundays through Wednesdays.   Eventually, it'll move over to Mondays through Thursdays, but this is where it's at now.

Until I get used to these hours again, I probably won't post much after work.  It'll all be before work, like now...

It's so... weird... to have a job with almost no responsibility.  It's like a vacation!

That travel time sounds blechlicious, but it sounds like the job itself isn't so stressful, so that part's good. But wow, that is some long shift times. 12 hours away from home every day? @_@

Been a while since I hit shifts like that and the only time it was in rush hour period there was a gym on site so I went in early. Basically meant the day in work but I loathe traffic. Good luck with 'em Control.

I am stationed in Puerto Rico. On a good day... my commute TO work is about 15-20mins. The commute home is an hour plus. There has been two instances of my commute home taking three hours, and once I just turned around and slept at work.

I used to do an hour one way.  Winter was tough.

Now it is down to 20 minutes.

Best laid plans
Movers arrived yesterday.

So, I've been busy unpacking. I've got the initial scene written up, but I've also been casting about for a good initial conflict.  Came up with one today...

So, I'll beg your patience for just a little bit longer.   I'm almost there.

I'd just like to walk through my space without tripping over a box of stuff to be unpacked.

I have my stuff.

While the past two weeks have been a great reminder that it's just stuff, and I certainly don't need any of it...  I like my stuff.   I've managed to make a 2-bedroom apartment and photo-studio-space fit into a two-room walk-up.

And, of course, I have my books.

So, 01.01 is open and ready...

The Moonrise Cafe is intended to be an out-of-time scene to allow people to start up a conversation without the need for the GM to be present.  So, I'm going to find an excuse to get Agnes out of there (actually, if any of you want to help me out, feel free!) and let it be a general social thing, that'd be awesome.

While we're at it... Could y'all take a look at your character sheets in the Latest & Greatest thread and make sure they're up to date.  You've got full edit capability for your post.

I often forget to look at your specific rpol character sheet.  I tend to refer to this thread for reference, a lot!

"And It's Brood" is an extra stunt, which I believe lowers Luke's refresh down to 2.

Actually, I'd misplaced your "Vampiric Heritage" Stunt under chosen instead of Mantles.  So, ",... And It's Brood" counts as your one free stunt.  No Refresh impact!

This means you can, if you want, take up to two more stunts... for a refresh each.

What did I miss?

Why are we removing Agnes from the thread?

Oooooo....we are starting!

I think we're removing her to make the scene easier on the GM, so we can just chat with each other forever. Right, boss?

Did we decide Jermaine is Mona's brother, or just a close friend? If her brother, is that also a bunch of her family present, or is Abigail just presuming they're his family?

Re: Best laid plans
We're removing Agnes to make the thread a casual chat thread instead of an organized instructional session....   I'd rather you guys have some avenue of IC discussion that doesn't necessarily hinge on my involvement.  While I don't expect to go dark as often as before, I can't guarantee it.

I saw no complaints about Jermaine being Mona's brother.  So, might as well stick with it!
It's entirely up to you if the whole family is present or how much of the family is there, and why...    We're picking the opening scene up at near midnight during the reception, so it's quite possible that much of the family have gone home now...

On a side note...  I'm about to go through much of this in a couple of weeks, as my little sister is getting married!

Also...

As a standard operating procedure, I'd like you folks to be proactive about bringing up your own Aspects.

It isn't quite enough to play the character in-line with the Aspect. It has to carry some weight.

If one has the Aspect THE COLD EQUATIONS (one of my favorites for  the cruel, calculating rationalist), it isn't enough for them to be logical and dispassionate through a scene.  Their adherence to the THE COLD EQUATIONS has to carry significance and drama!.

If you've let your RP be guided by your Aspects and it's made a difference, then please speak up!   I don't plan on being stingy with fate-points!  I just don't want to be a complete push-over, either.

I expect we may discuss this grey-area a lot.

Re: Best laid plans
Hey boss, are we doing a full RP scene until you push a button and make the universe go Ding, or are we just placing ourselves? If the first thing, I'll be responding to Gordon. If the second thing, I believe we're just waiting for the Marshal and Willa, right?

EDIT: Also, I set my Fate Points properly in my Biography line. Thought I spent Refresh on a stunt, but I did not.

I don't anticipate any physical conflict during the wedding reception scene (wanna give Abigail that, at least).   However we will very shortly introduce a character or two who will catalyze things.

Apparently the dice roller does not like people trying to use Intellect based off those rolls so far.

Sorry, had some surgery last week... and I'm apparently. VERY sensative to anasthesia. My body REALLY loves any excuse to sleep (amusing since habitualy stay up late out of stubbornness most every night). Anyways. Mind no longer a sponge, clarity has returned. I walked four blocks today though, soooo exhausting after being comatose/sedentary for a week. Will endeavor to catch up quickly in the morning.

Hey boss, quick question regarding Lydia. Is she the same Lydia from Grave Peril, or just an homage character?
