My suggestion is to not wait for him to lead.   Who knows what's going on?  better to push forward with something.

Rpol has been a real wanker lately, being down and/or page time outs when trying to post.

Guys, my apologies.

I'm pretty sure I logged in on my phone last week and thus cleared my flags...  I was shocked that I'd let so much time pass.  Will try to get into a routine again.

Went in for emergency surgery on Saturday and just got home. I'll probably be quiet a few more days as I recover.

Hurricane IRMA is headed by way, should hit PUERTO RICO on Wednesday. Last Summer a MUCH smaller tropical storm knocked out power island wide for two weeks... The local power company is forewarning the same or worse is more than likely. I'll post as able, but if I go radio silent... that'll be why.

Will be moving us forward tonight/tomorrow.  Right now I have an overdue date with my bed.

Now that I've finished editing for a new project, I'm going to ramp speed up a little bit.

Thank-you for your patience.

I'm back, and healthy. Not a fan of surgery, but at least there were no complications.

Okay... Established scenes are winding down for everyone.

What do you want to do next?

It's late in the evening, so the next scene(s) will probably be the next day.  This also means we can do a prose-dump of information if you've spent time doing any kind of research/contact or working on personal projects.

My list so far is;

Make sure present fae leave the event safely at the end of the day - barring anything odd easily done

Try to find what the keys go to - given the lack of a fob this will be initially done by waiting till the wee small hours and checking it on any Lexus remaining. After that it's turning over to the Marshal as the actual investigator here

Obtain clear floatation device (plastic, glass, whatever) and appropriate some necessary items from the golf club )customer's keys etc.) to float in the water hazard - likely easy enough to do, if all else fails bribe one of the smaller Wyld Fae in the area. Might merit a scene the following day.

Resume standard issue work with a sideline in looking into whatever happened on the golf course - probably take most of the following day up with reasonable reason to drop in on most other PCs.

No stress.

I have become a lot more mercenary over the years.  A post like that prevents me from just dropping you.

And if I do, there's probably nothing personal about it.  I just abhor a cast-list with inactive players.  Getting back in the game is usually pretty easy.

Just keep mus in the loop, like you've done.

Mona's next step is to get Luke, Marshal, His Majesty, and Willa informed about the super cryptic message from the unspecified voice in a random goth kid's head. Because while it really doesn't sound as totally on the level to her as it does to me, not warning them of potential danger would make her the jerk here.

After that, maximum googs. Gotta figure out who this guy is who needs help, and Gordon is not allowed near the search engine. (Nothing personal. Just...y'know, hexing makes it tougher.)

Gordon will look for information in the more traditional manner....for a wizard anyway.  Auguries, summoning 'contacts', asking around, etc...

Also, prep for Lydia's 'condition'.  Making sure he has everything he needs to help her and what things he can teach her to help herself.

Then the usual maintain stuff that wizards have to do.

I have survived the plague.   But crap did it knock me on my ass.  I've never had a flu-bug for so long.

I'm working on the next scenes...  Will post it out early Sunday or Monday.

I think perhaps we've done enough scene-setting and character establishment.  Time for some action...

Mona, Gordon:
Ask questions, and I'll answer...

Google gives the following:

Dr. Sebastian Strauss, Ph.D Candidate in Cultural Anthropology in Seattle University.  Already possesses a masters in psychology (UC Berkeley), PhD in Sociology (U.Wash).   His MA thesis was on the adaptive effects of Huntington's Disease in various mice trials.

Almost immediately after his MA thesis defense, he relocated to Seattle and began to work on a sociology project dealing with the Tsinq't people at the south end of Dabob Bay, inside  Potlatch State Park.  His Doctoral Dissertation was on the relations of displaced Haida (the T'sing't) with the Duwamish.   Both thesis and dissertation are publicly available for download via their respective university networks.

His current PH.D project is not available online, but he is continuing to work with the Tsing't.  His Dissertation advisor is the head of the Sociology department at Seattle U. Dr Erica Chapman.

Strauss was recently active in a number of medical forums, asking about a condition called "icthyosis" and "idiopathic ventricular fibrosis syndrome".

Icthyosis is a documented condition, but IVFS appears to have only ever manifested among the Tsing't.   There have been five reported cases of IVFS in the past forty years.

Two hearts were recovered from Tsing't cadavers.  One in 1986, the other in 1989.  The disease causes a new split in the heart muscle after birth. There are only a handful of reports--most of it excited speculation--about the possible therapies that could be derived from harnessing the condition to treat heart disease.  Unfortunately, the legal situation involving questionable ethics around the use of the cadavers versus traditional rites of the people caused a great social furor.

The Tsing't went to court against the CDC and as part of the settlement, the Hoodsport Hospital was created.  Most Tsing't register for all their medical needs there, and their records are exceedingly difficult to access.

Where else would you like to go with this?

Ok...so people with scaly skin and a split heart.  May not be completely human.  Just saying.

Because of the medical connection, Gordon will reach out through the medical community for more info on both Dr. Strauss and diopathic ventricular fibrosis syndrome.
