Occam's Razor, Oz's Folly (Scene 2, Act 1)

It's a brief walk to the home and, true to his word, the nurse's let the arriving group know that Kevin has called ahead to give them permission to visit Belinda. A middle aged woman offers to take the group up, and while she initially appears stern her countenance softens when she sees the package the group has brought.

The place is clean and well kept, though the smell of antiseptic and the elderly can hardly be considered pleasant. Belinda's room is up a flight of stairs and the nurse assigned to take you up pauses quite a ways away from an open door. Her voice is hushed, as if worried someone will hear.

"You're welcome to go in after I announce you, but I would ask you not make too much noise. It makes it hard for her to keep track of where everything is if she's focused on too many people. If she starts to get upset we will have to ask you to leave, but she's had a very lucid day today", at this an encouraging smile makes an appearance, "She's a sweetheart, I'm so glad that you decided to come, she's been talking about Robert and his friends for months"

Clearly she doesn't know who any of you actually are, but she doesn't wait for input before going up to one of the open doors and knocking lightly. The group hears her tell someone that four guests have come with tea and sweets to visit and a happy crow chimes out.

Belinda's room is various shades of a hideous pea green. What sounds like a crime drama playing from iPod speakers is quickly switched off by the occupant of the room. She jingles as she turns back to the group with a wide and friendly grin. If anyone cares to count, Belinda easily has twelve silver rings in each ear, if not more. Several rings adorn her fingers and bangles run up pale arms. Several inches of grey roots peak out, but the majority of her hair has been dyed black and held back in a loose bun.
Pale eyes dart back and forth, taking in nothing before them.

"Now, Gwen back there seemed to think it was my son Robert who had come, but none of you sound like my Robert, so who am I so lucky to meet today?"

OOC: I assumed from everyone talking that only four of you have gone to the Home and that Selene stayed behind to talk to Kevin. Please ping me somewhere if I'm wrong and I'll adjust.

Occam's Razor, Oz's Folly (Scene 2, Act 1)

"Our dear friend Sally was worried sick about you, said she hadn't heard from you in far too long.  We were in the neighborhood, and told them we'd swing by and see how things were going."

The normally cold and detached Nexus had vanished somewhere, over the course of the trip to the nursing home.  While not quiet as bubbly as Selene, the face she presented now was effervescent and cheerful.  What was disturbing was not the sudden switch, but how natural it felt on her.

"I'm Rachael, Rachael Indira."

She smiled warmly, extending a hand in greeting.

OOC: Activating Mage Sight before I shake her hand, Life and Spirit.

Occam's Razor, Oz's Folly (Scene 2, Act 1)

"So lovely to meet you, a friend of Sally's is a friend of mine. Who are the others here? Gwen said there are four of you..."

The hand extended went unseen, but a frown flickered across the old woman's face for a moment,
"I... I don't think that's right. That was your name though, once"

Blindly grasping until a hand reached a chair in the room, Belinda motioned towards what looked to be a very squishy sofa as she sat down.

"Did our Sal send you here to check up on me, or because she wanted a reading done?"

OOC: Belinda is alive and not possessed, though your Mage Sight tells you there is a Mystery about her.

Occam's Razor, Oz's Folly (Scene 2, Act 1)

"I recently had my name changed to Pepper Scotts, but folks who know me well call me Clasm." The American witch smiled a bit as she made her way toward the sofa to have a seat, making a mental note of the woman's physical blindness. Blind prophets were a classic archetype among the Sleepers, so it made sense that Oz's Order would be interested in someone who fit that particular mold. Clasm was tempted to use her Mage Sight and give the woman proper Scrutiny, but she knew better than to try to Focus and have a conversation at the same time. "You're right to think Sal sent us to check on you. She didn't mention you did readings, though."

It was a detail that explained why the first place Oz went with her suspicions were the Seers. Clasm's former Order was obsessed with foretellings of all sorts, regardless of the degree of Supernal functionality. Clasm didn't need to know the specifics of Belinda's abilities to know the Seers would want her.

Occam's Razor, Oz's Folly (Scene 2, Act 1)

"Hopefully not iconoClasm, mm?", for a moment the women looked too pleased with herself for the Scrabble winning word, but then sobered.
"Perhaps she didn't know you needed it, but you do. She's never been good at knowing when Fate had plans, she's too much of a meddler for it."

A weathered hand reached out towards the couch and Belinda's head moved as if scanning the room. She was likely listening for the others, "Take your time deciding, but I'll need to touch you to See. I'm not as young as I used to be and Gwen will kick up a fuss after. She's a dear but she's as bad as my Kevin when it comes to this. I might have more than one in me, I'll certainly try for you sweethearts"

"We've already shaken hands once, why not a second time?"

Nexus said, extending her hand again towards the woman and clasping her fingers.

Occam's Razor, Oz's Folly (Scene 2, Act 1)

Clasm fought back a grin at Belinda figuring out the nature of her nickname. Iconoclasms might seem bad to Sleeper society, but considering that the Seers were the only religious Order among Mages that wasn't innately Left Handed, the witch didn't see ill in it. The mention of working Fate magic, on the other hand, got a more serious interest from the Acanthus. And, of course, Selene's absence didn't stop someone from jumping on the invitation. "Because those of us who specialize in Fate aren't looking properly yet; hang on."

With that said, Clasm closed her eyes, took a breath, and opened her Sight to the Truth.

OOC: Now I'm spending a point of Mana to activate Active Mage Sight with Fate, Prime, and Time.
