Re: The Canteen (OOC)

*looks at the Shadow Name Merit properly*

Oh, hey, it's like Occultation and High Speech wrapped into one, at least as far as it'd matter to Clasm. I'm going to have to revisit my Merit selection.

As for Arcana, Clasm currently stands at Fate 3 / Space 2 / Time 1, although I wouldn't object to swapping out Space for something that fills a niche, if need be. It doesn't surprise me that Fate's popular, though, due to Conditional Duration.

Re: The Canteen (OOC)

I'm reviewing sheets today and tomorrow, as well as looking through any legacies that were given to me. You'll hear from me if there are issues.

Re: The Canteen (OOC)

Mind 3, Space 2, and either Life or Prime 1 for me. I don't really mind people doubling up on Arcana.

Selene, if you want to bounce ideas off me so that our warlocks don't feel too samey, I'm game for it.

Re: The Canteen (OOC)

I'm currently planning to go Death 3, Fate 2, and Matter 1 with an eye on becoming a Stone Scribe when I get a couple points of XP and find a willing mentor.

It seems like we're going to have a lot of Shadow Name users, which makes me wonder if it might not be worthwhile to look into trying to theme our cabal a bit somewhere down the line.  We have two goddesses, an embodiment of disorder/destruction, a scaled symbol of temptation/danger, and a Gravemarker/memorial/monument.  Sounds like the beginnings of a myth to me.

Spirit 3, Space 2, Life 1 here.

Would be 100% on board with a cabal down the line.

Re: The Canteen (OOC)

Might want to see how the Cabal plays and interacts before giving it a theme, I think, but definitely something to consider.

Also, snakes and serpents have a broader range of symbolism than danger and temptation. Deception, guardians, power, treachery, the list goes on.

*tosses Clasm an apple*

Serpents have a complex mythology associated with them. I figured it was a distinct profile that still left me a lot of room to apply in play.

Re: The Canteen (OOC)

Mmm basic symbols are wonderfully diverse at times, though you may need to narrow it down to a particular association if you want to benefit from Shadow Name.

So membership in the Guardians of the Veil isn't widely known in general? Are PC Guardians assumed to be Nameless if they aren't open about their membership?

Pretend to be Nameless? Who would do something like that?
In all seriousness, it'd probably be easier to infiltrate another Order, or simply not be on the radar.

Where'd you get that idea from? Guardians are public about being Guardians, nobody wants to be thought of as an Apostate and it's difficult to pretend to be a member of another Order.

The "London Orders and Concilium" thread only has two handfuls of guardians that are publicly Guardians, and only two are named. Just trying to figure out if NPCs are gonna get weird if Someone introduces me without specifying that I'm part of an Order.

Re: The Canteen (OOC)

Guardians are open about being Guardians if asked or if needed, they just don't want to be 'in the phone book' so to speak. Sly and Phi are only publicly known because they're Emissaries.
Someone won't have issues and neither will the PC Guardians.
I've sent some of you story PM's and I'll get the rest out tomorrow. Workday was longer than I'd have liked it to be.

Re: The Canteen (OOC)

@Serpent: Ah, I get you.

I think what Speaker means by that is that since London is a big city, not all Pentacle mages actually know each other, or even know of each other. So most of the city's Guardians don't seek to be publicly known outside their order and cabal.

Re: The Canteen (OOC)

Where is everyone getting their Legacy ideas from?  I can only spot one in the book.

Edit:  Ah, I got it.  Sadly there is almost nothing for Spirit.

@Serpent.  We seem to have just a bit of crossover, we should probably talk.

I don't think Clasm would find it healthy to be part of any Legacy tied to her backstory.

Looks nervously at giant collection of 1e Legacy books.

There are a lot of them out there, they just need converting into 2e. So you're either going to have to talk to the ST about converting one, or come up with a homebrewed one on your own using the mechanics in the 2e core.

It's not something you can really skip out on - it's sort of an expectation, both mechanically and in-setting, that you either join an existing Legacy at Gnosis 2 or develop your own unique one at Gnosis 3.

Here's a list of 1e Legacies and what books they are found in:http://wodcodex.com/wiki/Legacies_(1st_Edition). If anyone is interested in one and doesn't have the book I can probably link you to a pdf.

EDIT: RPOL hates every link I try to post, apparently. You'll have to copy/paste it or add the extra ")" to the end because it won't recognize it as part of a link... and I can't even get the hyperlink BBcode to work...

Re: The Canteen (OOC)

If anyone has a particular legacy they would like updated to 2E feel free to PM me about it.  I've helped our ST with a few updates already and am glad to make sure everyone has one that will fit their character.

Re: The Canteen (OOC)

There's a small list of updated Legacies from my NPC's on the Wiki. I'll be adding any updated Legacies you guys give me/ we work out there as well.

@NexusDoesn't have to be a long reply, but something along the lines of going and looking at what was intended for Nexus would be cool so I can give you the needed info for the first scene.

Cool.  Still getting a feel for this character.

I love the rules for Spirits in this edition, so it's really satisfying to actually get to play with it a little.
