Unless you're mind reading Nexus I'm not sure what you're responding to.  Brown italics are the thought format.

Ooh, my mistake!  Editing.

People hadn't been following what I'm biased to as standard formatting yet so I thought you weren't either.

Re: The Canteen (OOC)

I have a question about Spirits.  If there was one residing inside of a object, like a smart phone, would you be able to see it if you possessed Spirit Eyes?

Speaking of, Nexus has Spirit Eyes, so if you've got a Familiar with you out in the open I'd love to hear a physical description.  I can do the same for you as well.

Re: The Canteen (OOC)

Nexus, I believe you would, but only with Active Mage Sight up - Spirit Eyes only lets you actively see spirits with Active Mage Sight. Passive Sight just gives you a feeling when a spirit is nearby, you'd have to turn on Active sight to actually see it.

That being said, Bast does have her familiar Mau riding on her shoulder; if she was to turn on her sight, it'd look something like this - http://virtualegypt.weebly.com...077581/994259659.jpg except as an actual cat with gold markings and collar.

Re: The Canteen (OOC)

Awesome, thanks for the info.

Spark-Of-The-Invisible-Wave looks like a disturbingly large (think medium dog sized), ten legged spider made of crackling electricity that flits about.  It's usually tethered to Nexus' Samsung phone.

Re: The Canteen (OOC)

I'm sorry, I've started calling your terrifying electricity spider 'Sparky' in my head for short.
This will not end up in the game, I just have a terrible tendency to shorten impressive names.

I'm holding off on pushing forward until this evening (so about eight hours after this post) in the hopes that Serpent comes back on and makes an entrance. If he doesn't then he can catch up later.

Re: The Canteen (OOC)

Ooh, people have cool pets.  I think the idea of a giant spider being in your cell-phone has a touch of nightmare fuel to it (makes me think Azlu and their lovely habits), but still a very neat visual.

Out of curiosity, does anyone have any active magical effects on that might ping people's peripheral senses?  I guess the bell would, but I'm just curious if anybody else is making Stele's skin crawl just by walking in.

Re: The Canteen (OOC)

I was trying to decide on that one.

Nexus has taken to bribing a spirit of boredom into following her around on a number of occasions, veiling her from mortal sight by extending its Influence over her.  It essentially acts an a Somebody Else's Problem chip from Hitchhiker's Guide, makes people lose any interest in her on sight.

I don't think she would have done so for this scene though.

In previous editions of the game it paid to have your Mage Armor up each and every game.  I don't know if that is the case in this version.

Re: The Canteen (OOC)

That's a neat way to get social invisibility.  Sort of an application of the 1 dot 'strengthen/weaken' effect on your own personal aura of interest?

Generally I think 2E tried to move away from having mage armor up all the time since you can't actually have Mage armor active for more than a scene per activation now.  You could easily cast some other form of defensive spell to replace it, but I tend to fall into the 'if they can't sense I'm a mage I'm better off' camp.  Don't want to tip off any Seers you pass on the street.

Re: The Canteen (OOC)

Looking at the rules, looks like Nexus would have a faint Space 2 effect up.

Unless that's socially taboo right now.

Re: The Canteen (OOC)

Yea, with Mage Armor not being a spell and able to be activated reflexively without a roll, there's no need for the old 1e "cast it every morning with a day-long duration" ritual anymore, since you can just activate it for the scene the moment you sense trouble.

It is still detectable through Mage Sight, though, and I'd imagine in a situation like this it'd be seen as weird to have Armor up. Though any other spells I'm sure are fair game, it's not weird for a Mage to have a spell or two hanging on their person. Though what Stele said is definitely true as well.

Bast has no active spells up at the moment, she just has her Familiar with her, which would only ping your senses if you have Spirit 2.

Re: The Canteen (OOC)

Any spirits that came through would have pinged the doorbell. It rings for every 'thing' that enters or leaves.
It's fine to come in with spells already active (sort of generally expected for anyone with a Familiar) but actively casting inside of Hayfich is discouraged.

Faint Space and Spirit effects active on Nexus then.

Re: The Canteen (OOC)

So, in order to shake the tree a bit...

A sort of mixed game I'm in is recruiting to fill out the ranks. It's sort of mixed because there's one coterie, one cabal, etc. in a city where the local supernatural groups have... vanished. The ST is short on Mages in particular, so if anyone's willing to brave an Adult game to get some more Mage on...

Nailed it.

Edit: I forgot to record each die, but the success was second to the left if that matters. Does Clasm know anything remarkable about Calaban?

19:31, Today: Clasm rolled 1 success using 4d10 with the World of Darkness nWoD system with a target of 8, rerolling 10s.  Int + Politics + Specialty.

Well done.

Eve's been stretched pretty thin as of late, so I doubt they are poking around in this game.
