OOC: Getting Started
Welcome to the game!  I figure at least we can sort out messages here and have some kind of record rather than just rMail.

Just to make sure we're on the same page I am planning to 'quick sim' my way through Book 1 with these characters (I have made them all as opening Level 1). I will detail day-by-day notes and relationships and events in the thread you open and that will help set the stage for us going into Book 2.

Is that what you had planned as well?

Oh, how do you want to handle posting?  Do you want separate accounts for all of the PCs, or just one generic PC account?

I just skimmed over your summary, but it looks good so far.  Let me know if you want to RP anything in book 1.  I've given it a quick read-through, and now I'm starting on Book 2.

I would prefer separate just for the ability to have different portraits and character sheets. I will post entirely in a single post, selecting to e character who is the central figure in said post as the poster but in general it should be 'one and done' so you don't have to worry about jumping on my toes.

I am hoping to finish Book 1 soon. Having my captain trapped by two pirates was tough, I didn't realize that he would be stripped of his weapons first!

As an alternative to book 2, if you find it isn't 100% to your liking there is an alternative adventure module that would fit in for the 3-6 range. You join another pirate crew (but no chores and rum rations) and do a "hunt for the Black Pearl" kind of adventure that ends with you getting an upgraded ship with organic coral armor. Downside is no real ship-to-ship stuff until higher levels but I can dig up the name of it if you are interested. I flipped through it at a high level but I didn't get close to reading it in depth.
