The World after The End
So what kind of hellhole do you guys want to play in?
A Mad Max style wasteland? A whole world of deadland with compounds and settlements and mysteries dotted in between or "A last of us" ruins of the old world type of dealie?

Brainstorm below and we'll hash something out.

I like the idea of "the last of us".  Depending on what everyone else chooses to play.  Maybe we aren't actually "the last" people around but we sure as hell don't see much of anything but trouble coming out of the wastes. If no body plays a character with a base maybe we are wanderers looking for people. What do you guys think.

The World after The End
I like the idea of a scenario that happens very shortly after the apocalyptic event, mostly because I'm getting a very strong vibe of a character who fulfilled a more combative role in some sort of (para?) military force, but someone shot out her eye, so she went medic because her depth perception is garbage.

I'm flexible though.

I think that detail is left up to the MC.  The base of the game is that no one knows exactly how or why things ended, and so usually takes place some extended time after the fall.  That being said I'm not against it, but I think it would make the world more resource rich in general.  You might like playing the quarantine if you want something like that.  Just a suggestion.

The World after The End
I'm always looking at things from multiple angles so I'm sure it's still easy to give me some sort of background of conflict, and being put into a different role than I started with in order to salvage the best of a really sketchy sitch.

Of the other options MC presented though:

1) Mad Max style wasteland amuses me because I saw some youtuber play the video game, and I kept thinking back to Red Faction Guerilla. Also a roving band of murder-hobos in the (er... relatively) near future has an interesting appeal to me. Since I'm a healer and it seems reasonable that I might find clients randomly stranded out in the middle of nowhere. (for the record, I plan on going the +Weird route on that)

2) "A whole world of deadland with compounds and settlements and mysteries dotted in between" also has the roving band feel, but could facilitate more of a "Here is your home, they have told you to go here and do this" plus there's a lot of different directions you can go with not trying to emulate a specific feel. Also this one has the appeal that if we start in any sort of compound, it has to have some level of combative organization, yeah?

3) I have no idea about The Last of Us specifically, but I'm up for ruin exploration.

I can get aboard all those ideas too.  I think we need to decide if any of us are going to play a character with an establishment.  If so that will tie us all into a place by necessity.  I love mad max, but I feel like we need to have a driver to make that feel complete, and I've never been big on that role.

As for the deadlands, that's more how I feel like the 'default' world usually is.  I think its a good all around option for any group.

So I know that the GM is new (and may not be able to make it an adult game), but given the language in the books should we consider making this game mature?

Game should be at least mature, I agree.

Huh, I thought I had, Thanks for pointing that out though.
Yeah it's not gonna be PG but we're gonna fade to black for sex and anything to gratuitous, that alright with everyone?

Updated the game map, It's pretty shitty but it's a good point of reference.
Just pretend it was drawn by a half braindead wastelander.
