The Destroyer Arastozka-Cargo Hold

Mag-Tay is currently at a weapons bench maintaining her weapons when the east side door opens and in walks the eldar Nobeard and his uncle the squat Advar Durgrimst the ships lead mechanic.

Advar Durgrimst: "Now listen laddie, I don't no how you convinced that Corvus fella to lug this here tau battle suit back to te ship form your last mission. But I did manage to fix it up a bit. First, te thruster's be totaled and I don't have te parts to repair em, but I did manage to add an ejection seat that will auto launch ye if te suit takes too much damage. Second, I replaced those tau guns with a pair of our own, they are a pair of PT-44 turrets, they be strong but heavy, so I had to reinforce te legs. Third, this suit ain't as sturdy as an atlas (he points to the large battle-mech on the other side of the room) but it be smaller and a bit more agile, still wish I could get those thruster's working though. Te good news is I was also able to add 2 AA Dirge-Hammer missiles due to te lack of room. Last, if ye be wanted something with more range I could swap out the twin PT-44's for an RX-88 rotor gun. It has the same hitting power but this suit will have to two hand it."

Advar turns and calls out Mag-Tay

"Oi las! I know you be new to this ship so if ye need anything dis here is where I be." (He points over to the corner of the hold where a make shift bed sits next to a TV an open windowed fridge filled with booze.)

Arastozka-Command deck

Drake Fury stands at attention gazing down at his crew. Your tech specialists Sara Hurtz(Human) states that all repairs are finished and back in order. Your comms officer Tella Irvus(Salarian) informs you that the council wishes to speak with you personally about you next assignment and also, there is a pizza delivery boy outside the dock hatch, apparently Mr. Dallas made an order.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Arastozka-Corvus' Room

You are sitting on your couch drinking from The Intoxicator and watching reruns of Adventure Time on Netflix when you suddenly sense that your pizza has arrived.

"Finn, we can't kill them they're babies dude!"

"No, Jake, suffer not the ork to live, they must be purged, this is the way of a real hero bro!"

As Corvus took another swig of sweet sweet battery acid, one of the many highly useful and practical wards he placed around the ship went off, there was pizza here, delicious and hot. But the door was way over there, and that was a damned far walk. Utilizing the sum totality of his psionic might Corvus felt out for minds near the main airlock, and finding a few. A psionic shout with the sound amplified heavily was the quickest way.

"WHOSEVER BRINGS FORTH MY DELICIOUS PIZZA, SHALL RECEIVE THE GREATEST TREASURE OF ALL! BRING THE PIZZA UNTO THE CHAMBERS OF DALLAUS, THE GREAT AND POWERFUL WITH HASTE!"

With that small matter settled, Corvus returned to his sorcerous "research", knowing full well that his actions could rip a hole in space and time, and that was acceptable.

"Good work, Hurtz. We need to start warming up." He started heading for communications. "Get the comms ready, Irvus. I'm going to reply. And make sure the delivery boy goes through the usual scans, both when he arrives and when he leaves. We don't want him coming or going with anything unregistered that could get traced back to us."

Fury was feeling rather calm, almost relaxed. So far, nothing unusual - "WHOSEVER BRINGS FORTH MY DELICIOUS PIZZA, SHALL RECEIVE THE GREATEST TREASURE OF ALL! BRING THE PIZZA UNTO THE CHAMBERS OF DALLAUS, THE GREAT AND POWERFUL WITH HASTE!"

...nothing unusual was happening. Other than this Council business.

As Drake makes his way to the comm room he passes the main hatch. The routine scan ends and the hatch open revealing a Krogan in a bright uniform.

"Drop Pod Delivery. Be it your house, your job, or the battlefield, we will get it to you hot or we will die trying. (He looks at you for a second) Uh, the guy on the intercom said to bring it to his chambers so where do I go or are you the one paying?"

Drake growled. "Corvus had better pay for his own damn pizza."

"Just follow the signs to the secondary cargo bay, and for God's sake don't actually go into his room. Stay at the door, no matter what bullshit he might tell you to encourage you to do otherwise." Fury got an evil grin, and he looked to the krogan. "Also, tell him if he doesn't pay you properly, Fury is taking it out of his vacation funds."

He had a meeting to attend, and he hoped this would be the end of any further distractions. Whatever the hell the Council wanted, it usually meant they wanted something that required his unique...touch.

"I can Jake, if the taint of chaos has taken it. Any people there could be be lumping tainted bro."

Damned warpphobic cartoons, they act is if nothing good came from the warp, like, err.., well there are definitely things. Then a knock and unfamiliar voice declaring pizza had arrived.

"PIZZA TIME! PIZZA TIME!"

Corvus leapt from his couch, armored boots clanging on the steel floor of his chambers as he reached the standard door, slapping the button while looking down. After staring at a Krogan chest for a moment before looking up.

"I wasn't aware Fury had a scalie on board. I will take that tasty pineapple, mushroom, and anchovy pizza, and you will take the greatest treasure of all, my friendship."

Corvus grabs the pizza with his right hand and wraps his left arm around the Krogan, while gesturing with his right hand.

"Yes indeed, a great treasure, you get preferential treatment on being left behind for a heroic sacrifice, you may have 1 drink per week from the intoxicator, and one truly beautiful weapon from my vast armory, as long as it's not one of the ones I like!"

Corvus took a moment, his brain running over what happens. If there is no vacation funds, then that means no extra ultracoke, and no extra ultracoke, that means I only have like 80 kilos, that'll only last a week. No bueno.

"Alright, since he's being stingy, and it's clear you don't like that amazing payment, I'll give you monies."

Corvus removes his arm from the Krogan and begins patting where his pockets would be if he wore pants, but you know, power armor has no pockets.

"Ahh, it would appear I left my wallet in my other greaves. Why don't you step inside and pour a drink while I fetch it. Any bottle except the green one, I mean you can, but you won't like it."

Mag-Tay had finally finished her equipment maintenance, when Corvus' broadcast had gone out, rattling her brain a bit just from the volume. "You'd think I'd be used to that shit by now..." As she said this to no one in particular, she lightly held her head with her top most arms and supported herself on the workbench with the lower set. She then started out the air lock stoping only to tell a crew member that she was going for a quick jog around the Citadel Presidium Ring, admirably so she could pretend she was not in space for a little bit. Even as she walked out the air lock she focused all four of her eyes on the ground until she made it somewhere she couldn't see outside.

The Presidium

As Mag-Tay takes a stroll her path brings her across a large gathering. In the middle of the gathering, standing on a podium, an irate turian preaches to a crowd.

"Loyalists of the Citadel, the enemy is at our door! Our beautiful citadel has been corrupted! The foul agents of the Hegemony and Tau hide among us! The spread lies and brainwash our young! Their armies are at our borders! Even now they try to influence our leaders to join them!

He looks directly at you and points

"Behold one of those fallen four arm freaks stands before us! What say you freak! Are you here to take our food! Our People!

The crowd turns to star at you, some confused, many hostile, all expecting some reproach from you.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The Destroyer Arastozka-Cargo Hold

Advar Durgrimst: "Ay Lad, I agree with ye about Corvus, I have an idea, can you by chance make some rune seals around te ship that can contain that fool's outburst, at least so that it can't be heard outside te ship?"

OOC: It is in your power to do this.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The Destroyer Arastozka- Corvus Room, 1 hour ago

The Krogan briefly looks in you room and notices the many bottle of Ryncol

"You know what, I've had a very bad day so i'll take you up on your offer."

And thus the Krogan enter your room and the door slowly closes behind him.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The Destroyer Arastozka- Comms Room

The meeting took an hour, it was apparently a combined meeting featuring four other specters, and obviously the council got to you last.

Asari Councilor, Deuclea T'lotora: Commander Fury, congratulations on the last mission, we apologize for this but we have a high priority mission for you.

Krogan Councilor, Urdnot Bakara: Let's just get the point. You are to head to planet Shepard. It is currently being invaded by orks. Based on experience you are the only Specter that has confronted them before. That why we chose you for the job.

Salarian Councilor, Nosan Jiheo: Your mission is to recover a volus scientist Bofnan Can who is trapped behind enemy lines. Reports claim he still lives. Urdnot Wrex will brief you more when you arrive. Any Questions?

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The Destroyer Arastozka- Corvus Room, NOW

The Krogan, Weyrloc Marv: "Dude!.....You....are likeee thee bestust ever! This id some strong booowze.......and I don't even know what dis white powder stuff iz. But itz awesome! You know what.......Ill take thats offer of friudship! And from nowsh on, if yoooou want a pizzzaa, just let ol Weyrloc Marv know, and iz get it to you. Itz just a shame that I can't just teloport the pizzaz to you cause thazzz would be awesome too. "

It was what Marv said that made you look to the corner of your room were all your junk lies. Among the junk is a large car sized ornate box that you manage to sneak on the ship. It is a small covenant warp engine that you stole and originally planed to hook to the Arastozka but then realized that you have no clue how to do that.

"Yes, it would be good if you could teleport..."

Corvus looked at the junk pile in the corner, where all the trophies that weren't particularly cool to have on display were. Amongst the various weapons of people slain in melee combat, lay the box. Now the box was something the lizard jerks of the covenant said he couldn't have with their plasma rifles, which meant of course now he had to have it. After figuring out it was a warp drive, the realization of not being able to hook it up without the dwarf's help or approval relegated it to the pile. He walked over to it, by the sorceror trophy case, where a golden skull with jeweled eyes sat.

"C'mon Corvus, give me as a tip. I'll go on the Citadel, and then they'll have to bring you on, eventually."

"Not now skull, brilliance has struck me. I will revolutionize the delivery industry, and that would be something legends would have spoke of, and they didn't, which means I'll beat fate! Everything's coming up Corvus today!"

With a quick throw of choppas and chainswords Corvus grabbed the box and dragged it to the center of the room.

"Well, Weyrloc m'boy, today is your lucky day. This box is a cove... a Corvus drive, a powerful engine that uses many sciences to fold space or something, creating an effect not unlike teleportation. We just need to get it on your ship, and get it installed, and boom, pizza anywhere, any time. Also, we need to do it without anyone seeing it, especially the cyborg or anyone that considers themselves a dwarf."

Corvus went back to the junk pile, pulling out a tapestry depicting the great conquest... you know what, you don't even care what it depicts, all you need to know is in many eyes, it is very priceless, and not a moving blanket, but in Corvus's eyes, it is most definitely a moving blanket. Deftly throwing it over the box it's disguise was ready.

"Grab that side, and then we sneak it out to your ship, and then we make standard delivery obsolete!"

"You hear that! It demands me to repeat myself! It thinks that I am some lowly servant that it can command! It thinks that we are inferior!"

The turian jumps off the podium and walks up to you. He is followed by one other turian and two humans. The other turian grabs a large branch off the ground while the two humans reach for something under their coats.

"You have insulted me and these fine people of the citadel! I demand you get on your knees and apologize!"

OOC: Your servitors have a taser setting but its point blank only. Also note these guys are mooks so if you choose violence I give you full permission TO DEAL WITH THEM AS YOU WISH. As for the SOMETHINGS under the humans' coats you can decide what those are.

Salarian Councilor, Nosan Jiheo: "We have sent a dossier to your ship when the meeting started all information is available there. Good luck, commander Fury."

The meeting ends and you walk out to the main hall. A turian salutes you caring a tablet. Sargent Caslius Sabelus.

"Sir I have the dossier right here. We're to head to Shepard, land at space port Normandy, and then meet with UCSC Supreme Commander Urdnot Wrex or at least one of his men. I'll say though that place was hit pretty hard by the Orks, they control about a third of the surface."

He hands you the dossier

"I would also like to report we have just finished training the new rooks for the ground team, we've actually exceeded or squad numbers expectation and have a compliment of 20 able men and women ready for duty. We also gained a new engineer. Quarian, female, by the name of Jeeho'Raezh vas Lozzor. She'll be working under Durgrimst. However, she is also a trained pilot for both ground and air vehicles. She'll definitely be useful."

As you two proceed down the hall you come across Advar and Nobeard. Nobeard looks like he is in the process of using his powers to mark runes in the wall.

Advar:"Yup lad, this be the best spot if we be putting four runes around te ship at equal spacing. After this we just have to put one near the forward cannons and will be set."

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The Destroyer Arastozka- Corvus' Room

Even though the warp engine ways 3 tons, you and Marv are capable of lifting it. You have a few options, you can either carry it out the forward airlock or you can carry it to the main cargo hold and get it off the ship via the vehicle ramp. Either way, you realize that someone is going to notice you two caring a large 10x8x4 foot object. Of course you could also try teleport......ting, forget I said that!

"Good work, Caslius." Fury allowed a half smile to cross his face. He took a mental note that the turian had clearly read the classified information himself, but resolved to make nothing else of it other than a report for his Captain's Log later.

"Twenty untested soldiers and a rookie hotshot is more than enough." Fury thought about his odds, not liking them but not letting that show. "Everyone will have plenty of targets to kill, so that's good news. They won't be rookies when we bring them back."

He noted the eccentric Eldar putting his runes on the walls. Fury hated 'sorcery': biotics were trustworthy and reliable; you knew exactly what you were getting when you asked for them. 'Sorcery' on the other hand, operated like something out of a storybook, and would succeed or fail for reasons that could not be traced in advance.

Still, so far he had been informed that it was helping by biotic sources, and he was willing to go with it, even tolerating that drunken peacock Corvus...

"Caslius, who has disembarked from the ship in the time I was in the meeting?" He had that sinking feeling in his gut again, probably stress-induced indigestion just from thinking about Corvus again.

Three only a coward would attack, let alone gang up on someone they think is defenseless. Four kindly go fuck yourself, as no self respecting turian would do what you are asking and nor shall I. Five." She directs her servitors in front of her, in plain view for them to see sparks flying with tasers fully charged. "Try it at your own risk." Now, an unwise sorcerer would merely rip open a hole in reality push the warp drive through, and call it a day, much in the same way he had put it on the ship. Of course that would raise some problems, mostly because it would also be very noticeable outside of a firefight, and he cared that both sides survived the outcome, as opposed to just one side. Since opening the door in his own cargo hold would likely mess up his stuff, that was right out, and the vehicle bay meant both the elf and the dwarf would be guaranteed to notice, and ask why I ahven't put it on the ship. No, the only choice is the front airlock, and doing our best to hide it from Fury.

"Alright, we take this back to your ship, the way you came in. If anyone asks, this is a cask of the finest ryncol 20 credits can buy. Now away!"

And off they ran, pushing through the ship and ignoring minor crewmen, as they are clearly not important enough to have names or shirts that don't mark them for a terrible death.

You look back noticing that now most of the gathering is now leaving and you spot a group of C-Sec offices breaking up the demonstration. No one is following you. " Look helmsman, if this top secret operation was at your pay grade, you would have bloody well been told about it, by me. But since it's not, you saw nothing, NOTHING! Especially if Fury asks."

Resuming the walk with one step before some ridiculous Scottish claptrap erupted behind him.

" For the love of Slannesh's inappropriate touching tentacles, I swear if it's not one thing it's another. What are you doing, not putting together that sweat ass crisis suit I suplexed, and being here, which is not the vehicle bay? And for your information, we are taking this WINK ryncol WINK, over to the pizza barge, to pay for pizza."

And with that there was one more step before Fury so rudely interrupted the walk from getting any further.

"Hey, don't talk to my friend... krogan that way. I don't talk to your friends like that, mostly because you don't have those, but I probably wouldn't if you did. I mean I talk that way to your superiors, and of course everyone we need to deal with, but that's part of my charm. And for your information, I am trying to get him off the ship, with the WINK ryncol WINK, but everyone questions me like I'm a dangerous lunatic."

With a surge of psychic power Corvus ripped open a gate linking Marv's ship and the Arastozka, before hurling the engine directly through it, hoping the lessened distance made it so no daemon incursion happened on either side, or at the very least fun daemons, like nurglings, not scary ones like greater ones ripping through the walls.

" I didn't want to do that, but no, everyone questions Corvus, and now I've done something dangerous and unpredictable, like always instead of being semi-responsible. Hopefully this whole thing pays off in dividends, which means you won't have a grip on the vacation funds."

Nobeards' runes are destroyed and will have to be restored. In victory Corvus takes a swig of his Intoxicator and is shocked to find it taste like water. He tries switching the substance and the same thing happens. It occurs to him that the higher powers decided to reward his actions by making all booze become water in his mouth and that this will last for a few days to a week. But other than that all is well.

He gritted his teeth through the headache, and continued to everyone. "We have a mission. Lots of orks, backline rescue op, low profile if possible. Any questions? Because we leave in the hour."

"No, impossible. This can't be. It has to work. Why have you forsaken me in my seconds of need Dark Lady!?"

Corvus drops to his knees pouring water out of the Intoxicator, while pounding the deck with his other fist.

"It's all mixers, no booze. I'm dangerously close to being sober! Who knows what will happen if I'm confronted with a clear mind and all the terrible things I've done, a depression spiral, suicide..."

Corvus's head perks up for second, as his mind cleared just enough to remember he had a full bar in his quarters.

"Surely that's safe! We may yet make it out of this with my lack of sobriety!"

Corvus ignores everyone else, as he's terribly self-centered and ran back to his quarters, upending the bottle of ryncol, on the plan of go big, or go sober.

Fury had to take a few moments both to process Corvus's insane aversion to alcohol, interpreting his actions as meaning "no, I don't have any questions" and he took a second moment to translate what Nobeard was saying. He had no idea what arcane dialect the Eldar was using if the micro-translators had to struggle so much with it.

"We can get sedatives, although why you think the hostage will fight that much is up for grabs. We would also have to give them to the hostage through a means that wouldn't rupture his suit. Hypodermic needle risks a small chance of killing the volus." It didn't even occur to Fury that Mag-Tay might be aiming for personal use.

"Good work, and keep doing what you have to do to keep us alive. I have a special order to make before we launch. This will be the sole reason for a delay, barring something else stupid." He was wondering both a) what he was going to use to suppress Corvus's more insane psychic powers, and b) how he was going to get Corvus to cooperate with this, given the Astartes's penchant for selective intelligence.

The Destroyer Arastozka- Corvus's room

You chug the ryncol and find that it too taste like water. It is at this moment, due to your astartes hyper-metabolism that you are now completely sober. It dawns on you that this is going to be a real bad week. At least you got your drugs.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
To Nobeard:

You manage to reconstruct your runes before take off.

To Mag-Tay:

You get your hands on some sedatives.

To Fury:

Checking on specter requisitions you find that their are a few ways to suppress psychic powers.

1. You can requisition a anti-psychic collar usually used for human size psychers. You can get your hands on one meant for a Krogan, but you will have to convince Corvus to remove his helmet. The collar comes with a device to alter it on and off which has a range of 300 yards.

2. You can requisition a drug WEX-1257 that is used in the psycher sanctioned schools to temporary suppress psychic powers. It's effects is about 4 grams equals 6 hours of inactivity for a standard humanoid. 60 grams for a Krogan.

Note: The reason you are looking up the effects to Krogans is because their are no know test on Astartes.

After you make a decision on this subject, a few hours later you order crew to stations and the Arastozka takes off to its destination, the military world of the renowned hero, Shepard.

OOC: I will post a continuation to your destination soon, but if any of you wish to post a short story of what your doing during this trip please do. I don't care what it is as long as it fits the story, hell your characters can just be talking to each other.

Drake looked at both options on the table. The drugs would likely be an easier sell, but were temporary and untested on the robust physiology of the Astartes, especially one as chemically hardened as Corvus's. Convincing Corvus to remove his helmet was not going to be the hard part, as far as Drake was concerned, but rather how to convince him that it was something he would want to wear.

Refuge in audacity might be the only approach to get the collar on. Forcing the issue would result in a potentially lethal encounter, one that would just bring up the "why don't we just space him" question again.

He knocked on Corvus's door, collar in hand. He had an idea, one that was really stupid, but it was the best option he had for dealing with the unstable psychic Astartes.

The situation is dire. Soberity sneaking in like a thief in the night. Without alcohol, then there is but one solution, doing all the drugs currently available. Opening his drug closest, Corvus looked over the many pills, crystals, liquids, and powders before grabbing a kilo of ultra coke and his Astartestm combat knife. Slashing it open and then very carefully arranging it into neat lines with the blade on an ornate golden platter, then diving helmet first into it, his modified coke vacuum doing all the snorting for him. Then a knock on his door.

"WHOTHEHELLISITI'MFIGHITNGSOBERITYHERE!"

"Maybe it's someone to take me to the Citadel!"

"MAYBEIT'SASPACEMONSTERTOADDYOUTOHISTROPHYCOLLECTIONYOUGOLDENDINGUS!"

Corvus moved over to the door and hit the open button 75 times in quick succession while waiting for it to open, one of the advantadges of ultra coke, you get real twitchy.

"AHHFURY,DIDYOUBRINGALLTHEDRUGSTOALLEVIATEMYSUFFERING.WHATISTHAT?ISTHATACOLLAR?ITDOESN'TMATCHYOUROUTFITANDITWON'TBRINGOUTTHEREDINYOUREYES.GIVEITTHEDWELF,THEYLIKEJEWELERY."

"It's not for me." Drake took a moment to try and take in...well, Corvus. There was a reason he had an outstanding rule on the ship that going into Corvus's room was business only. "Out of curiosity, what was in the box you were giving to the Krogan? Because whatever it was, it is certainly his now."

He was well aware of Corvus's selective intelligence, and he found it annoying that Corvus somehow considered him authority. Perhaps that was for the best: Corvus, if he actually applied himself, would likely be in command of the Arastozka and Fury would be his second, not the way it was now. Fury, on thinking back, was grateful Corvus never was willing to apply himself to earn Council trust, because some of the other Specters had reputations and demeanor comparable to an ancient Terran emperor named Caligula.

Corvus tapped his armored beak, debating whether to snort another kilo, or use some of his many other drugs.

"How rude, you are my "BOSS" and I haven't even invited you in for a drink. Would you care to come in for a glass of water on the rocks, since my many bottles of high quality alcohol all now seem to be high quality h2o."

Corvus walked over to his bar and picked up a goblet of fine Q'sal crystal and dropping in one ice cube, before he looked over to the tv and seeing the grinning daemon which informed him he had no connection.

" Pick which bottle you'd like your water from, since they all seem to contain it now. Also, when you call the El..dwarf in here to get his new jewelry, ask him what he did to my powers. This could have earned us both a substantial bonus if it was something the Citadel's eggheads could figure out how to use."

He actually did enter Corvus's room, but wasn't feeling up to a drink. "Anyhow, I'll get to the point. Corvus inspects that collar. Its durable enough that even your enhance strength can't break it. You put it on and the collar latches, it can't be removed without an electronic release command which you surmise that Fury has. Within 10 seconds you lose your connection to the warp. You grab the Intoxicatior which still produces booze on command even without a warp link, and take a swig. You are delighted to find that the alcohol going down your gullet is indeed alcohol, and the world is right again well except that you don't have warpflix anymore.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The Arastozka Mass jumps to the Krogan DMZ, and from there travels to the neighboring Wathars system. The FTL flight takes 20 hours and 32 minutes. When the ship arrive and approaches planet Shepard, Fury notices various explosions erupting from one side of the planet. On closer exception the explosions are coming from massive AA guns that are firing erratically into space which it turn contains a large amount of debris in the thermosphere consisting of destroyed ships.

The Arastozka is hailed by an escort vessel "the Brukore" which ask for identification. After that the Brukore escorts you to Normandy base located in Prutacka city. Upon landing you noticed that the city is built like a fortress with surrounding walls and that the east side of the city is under siege. Your helmsmen informs you that this is literary the border line between the two forces.

OOC: At this time I would like all of you to tell me your weapon load outs. Fury and Mag-Tay choose your omni-tool powers. Drake returned to his quarters, in preparation for the upcoming fight. He moved the usual reserve of omni-gel in front of him, activated his tool, and transformed the inert material into something more useful.

First, a Pheaston...he had considered the N7 Typhoon, having strong nostalgia for the weapon and a sense of loyalty to human made products, but the turian machine gun was a better assault weapon. If he were defending a static position, he would have recommended the Typhoon, but his mission demanded mobility.

M-11 Suppressor...he favored the N7 Eagle normally, but his mission demanded silence as well, with the Pheaston actually being the weapon he was taking for his escape.

For both weapons, he loaded up on Shredder rounds. His omni-tool's workload dropped by 20%, and then he added the Omni-Fist on top of that, which he felt should crush any ork in hand-to-hand flat, dropping it another 20%. The Tactical Cloak was worth a look for scouting; he would need to see what Mag-Tay was bringing along. The Tactical Scan might be essential for finding the scientist in the first place, if he had been told that the scientist had an electrical device that was unique to him.

Finally, the Flamer upgrade. Six seconds of fire before needing a bit of a recharge, but that would be enough to burn these creatures to ashes. And six seconds could be eternity on the receiving end. He just hoped he didn't feel the need to use it in the building the scientist was in, unless it was to cover an escape.

That left his device at 30%. Good enough. He just hoped those rookies Citadel had sent in had some understanding of what they were doing.

That gave him a reminder. He needed to meet the new people in person. Speak to this hotshot quarian pilot, Jeeho, and see who else was special or thought they were.

He got up, turned the lights out in his quarters, and walked to the cargo hold. It would be a bit of a trip anyways.

On the one hand, the lack of voices in his head from terrifying warp monsters has possessed Corvus with a lot of clarity, but also a lot of boredom since he's done far less random things that the voices have told him. Now, going through his weapons locker, carefully selecting his gear for slaying the ork hordes. Flamers, heavy bolters, power swords, these would all be good choices, but super boring. Force guitar, mastercraftedrelicpower stick, kundarian ping-pong rifle, all too exotic, perhaps too much of a challenge to use. Best to go with basics then. His armored hand picked up his bolt pistol, a trusty and useful side arm, a bit more kick then most sidearms, but not so much for an Astartes. Then the standard issue bolt gun, mildly customized aesthetically, the iron sight shaped into a middle finger, the entire gun painted glaringly purple. 6 magazines for each should be sufficient, any more would be too much weight, and less would likely lead to an out of ammo situation, as orks are known for literally shooting anything. Next the chainsword, the standard tool of an Astartes at war, looking over the blade and looking at another of his minor mods, the simple text along the blade "If you can read this, you're fucking dead.", and the purple teeth. With that, the Intoxicator, and his combat knife, melee needs should be taken care of. The last thing a simple brown duffle bag, loaded with grenades, frags, kraks, plasma, incendiary, spike, psyko, confetti, jarate, any kind you might need, but absolutely no organization for it.

With all his gear readied, the Intoxicator in bottle form in a pouch on his waist, chainsword maglocked to his left hip, bolt pistol to the right thigh, and the comabt knife and bolter on his back below his armor's generator, the mags all mag locked inside his massive pauldrons. And with that, he waltzed down to the cargo bay, ready to start the slaughter. He took a spot on the wall next to Fury, and took a drink from the Intoxicator.

" So, what's the passcode for my leash? Go go, Chaos Sorceror? By the power of Chaos, I have the power? It's PSYKING time? C'mon, I might need that, you know, active warzone and all."

Three gulps of whisky, first to forget space, second for courage in the field of battle, and third for if she doesn't return. With her little preload out ritual done she gets to work.

Mag-Tay looked through the available weapons, the Chakram launcher was tempting but lacked real versatility. The Phaeston however was a different story, after all only a fool would say that turian's didn't know their weapons.

The clutch pick shotgun would have to stay here with the launcher, in favor of the Venom. Never know when you need a grenade luncher after all, especially with the number of Orcs we're expecting.

Her silent partners A pair of shock knives and corresponding shock blades, found their usual sheaths awaiting them. The blades across the back in an X, and the knives were tucked away in the pauldrons. In each armpit lay a pistol, four Paladins, much like the shock blades more for a personal presence than anything. Leaving the hips for the shot gun and assault rifle.

With the weapons set it was time to upload the missions omni powers. The Tactical Cloak (20%) was rarely ever a poor choice for her line of work, Carnage (30%) however was more of an insurance policy that she hoped she wouldn't need. She pondered for a moment if she should save room for both the Recone Mine (30%) and the grenade but settled for just the mine. To round out her arsenal Incendiary rounds(20%), as by this point she realized she had little for armored foes.

And now with an hour or two before landing, she finishes off her whisky.

Advar activates his omni-tool, and locker 54 opens revealing two widows and two black widows.

At this time Caslius enters followed by 19 others. 12 of them are veterans that have fought under Fury and survived. Six of them, Benard Ruther (Human Male), Margeret Stouse (Human Female), Aizo Toshi (Human Male), Richard Kurth (Human Male), Labia Epocus (Turian Female), and Agrius Varnus (Turian Male), were your typical front line soldiers. Just tell them where to go and what to shoot and they were happy.

Two of them, a large man named Mfundo Dabuka (human) and a small woman, Susan Brice(human), were heavy weapon specialist. Mfundo always carried a Typhoon and a cobra missile launcher while Susan is a pyromaniac who favors the Firestorm. She also always takes the omni-flamer as well as Incendiary rounds for her Hurricane SMG.

Markus Cross (Human), is a demolitions specialist, and Tulllus Paetion (turian male) as well as Vorsin Vaeks (salarian male) are proficient snipers. All three are infiltrators.

The last, Zarina Leoz (Asari), serves as Caslius' second. She is a former Asari commando.

Which leaves the other seven. Fury checks their dossiers. The first six are all human.

Joseph Dredd, former c-sec security, fired for exceptional use of violence.

John Rehart, former c-sec security, quit.

Jenny Perkins, former ganger.

Kale Seets, former ganger.

Tim Thompson, former UCSC soldier, retired.

Rodriguez ElCazorro, former adventure?

The last to show up was a Krogan (Male), Drartak Rug, former blood pack.

All are present and awaiting the briefing.

Drake let no expression show as he began. "Most of you present have already had their trial by fire under my command and lived. The rest of you are not rookies, and have seen battle in other fronts. That's good, because I am regularly deployed to some of the most dangerous zones in the galaxy. My tours have made me the man I am today."

He brought up his omni-tool and showed a basic hologram of an ork. "We are fighting orks on planet Shepherd. They are rather akin to pre-turian krogan in temperament and tactics: favoring horde strategies and brutal frontal assaults, along with high collateral shock-and-awe strategies designed to inflict damage largely for its own sake. They are brutal to their prisoners, when they bother taking them, and don't seem to understand the concept of a noncombatant. Everyone in this unit will be armed: the rules and customs of war do not apply in our operation, of which I am certain Vorsin will be glad to hear."

He brought up images of their weapons, both the choppy and the shoota. "In hand to hand, they are tough as rocks and hit like them too. Their projectile weapons are a high powered solid shell weapon that is powered by some kind of psychic bullshit they have, so we can't even salvage and use the damn things unless orcs are around. Even then, they jam a lot when we try to use them, so don't bother. They are war trophies only, and tools of desperation at best."

He brought up further images of the Big Choppy and Big Shoota, as well as their Rokkit Launcher and Burna. "Their weaponry is primitive in appearance, but don't be fooled: I've seen these things do a lot more damage than comparable weapons should. Their blades are sharp enough to damage Alliance armor, and combined with their prodigious strength are unpleasant to be hit with."

He switched to a hologram of a grot. "They have a smaller, more numerous cousin around them they call grots. These nasty little bastards are more numerous, and are the unit most likely to be encountered off the front lines in support roles the warriors can't be bothered with. Unlike their larger kin, these things are actually good shots, but much weaker in hand to hand. Cowards, one and all, but dangerous and rather resourceful. Kill them fast if possible; they might break and run."

He then switched to a squig. "These are their attack dogs and livestock, their all purpose animal of choice. When they aren't eating them, they are cutting them loose to sniff out enemies and chaos battlefield chaos. Often they are rigged with proximity explosives to rather unpleasant effect, like a living tracking landmine."

He changed to a side by side image of both a Killa Kan and a Deff Dred. "We will be likely seeing all three, and perhaps some extra surprises, like their warmachines, as well as repurposed vehicles. We will not be near the front lines of engagement if I have a say on this, so we should not be engaging their mobile armor. Our job is to rescue a volus scientist from them. Why they took him alive is beyond me, but they did, and last heard he is somehow still alive, with his suit intact. They have holed up in a hospital, and we will receive more on the ground information when we arrive on site."

He casually brought up images of their war bikes and deffcoptas as he continued speaking. "The usual will apply: avoid direct engagement save under necessity, keep your exit open, don't leave our own behind. The difference is their armor is normally inferior...save one circumstance."

He showed a hologram of a Warboss in Mega Armor. "They outfit the biggest of their kind in these warsuits, turning them into techno-organic monstrosities. These things can destroy buildings, are effectively similar to the Ymir, and should be battled similarly. Only they are a bit faster on the front side, so be advised. Kill their support, on and off their armor, and hit their vast blind spots with ordinance. Or just blow their eyes out with sniper fire."

He showed picts of himself and Corvus trashing orks with the weapons he waas about to describe. "That's what you are fighting. Bring high punch assault weapons for the job, and weapons that can shred metal and armor. They rarely use advanced tech unless it is stolen, so for the most part, leave that behind along with MOST of the anti-shield tech. If they bring a shield somehow, just switch to a full auto weapon and saturate it with bullets."

He deactivated his omni-tool, and returned his hands behind his back. He let his eyes flash red for a moment. "You are the finest the galaxy could offer, and I expect you to deliver when we land. The specifics of the planet itself are well known, so study well to avoid any surprises like heightened gravity, terrifying flesh-rending storms, or toxic atmospheres. Any questions, beyond 'where the hell are they so we can kill them already?'"

Corvus looked over the new recruits, analyzing their chances of different deaths, realizing most would die to bullet to neck, or the constant cause of being much to close to a Chaos Sorcerer who thinks the only setting is full power. One or two may be dragged off by a the bondage elves to be tortured then offered to the Dark Prince so she won't eat them. But a few they might make it, the Krogan, Dredd, ElCazorro, the Asari, they struck him as survivors. While he was doing all his mental math, Fury was droning on about actual tactical information, Corvus was noting the important parts that weren't mentioned. After the last bit of information, it was time for the Corvus show, a spectacular combination of useful information and sweet magic special effects.

"Alright kids. While the boss man has told you the basics, it's time for my unique insights I've picked up in my travels. And of course, all vacation stories require slides!"

Corvus raised his arms, focusing the images in his mind.

"Behold the power I bring!"

And nothing.

"ABRACAFUCKINGWORK!"

Nope.

"HOCUSGODSDAMNIT!"

Still nothing chief.

"PRESTOISWEARTHISNEVERHAPPENS!"

And then Corvus remembers the collar, choking his powers off.

"Err, right, forgot that we aren't allowed to summon unlimited cosmic power on the ship. Pretend that there are living images of big green monsters here, ok? So important ork facts that haven't been covered yet. First things first, orks while some will get as big as our scaly friends the Krogan, do not get those neat redundant organs, so standard kill methods apply. And while all evidence is to the contrary, they do use their brains, so headshots do work."

"Fun ork fact #2, the biggest ones are in charge. Also they love fighting, all they live for. So, should you find yourself outnumbered, challenge the biggest one to a one on one. I mean, you'll probably still die, but if you win you might prove to them that you should be in charge."

"Important and useful fact C, A lone ork is superstitious and cowardly, a mob of orks is fearless beyond all reason, willing to charge directly into a volcano even if a smarter creature would know not to. I suspect it's a continuation of their racial psychic ability, it could also just be a pack mentality from their overwhelming stupidity. Also, the stupider looking the weapon they bring, the deadlier that weapon probably is. Oh, remember the one with the vacuum gun that shot the little ones, until it messed up and launched himself directly into a brick wall. Good times."

And with that, Corvus returned to his wall, and looked at his wrist, as if there was a watch there.

" If anyone else has any insights, Advar some additional tech notes, Nobeard any prophetic visons you've had, Spider-man... wait, we are short a few arms here. It would figure one of the better stealth operatives would go missing. Anyway we should make planetfall soon, anyone who suddenly developed an allergy to untimely and painful death can go ahead and get off the ship now."

Mag-Tay quietly hangs from the ceiling, letting her dull buzz give her that cozy piece of mind as Fury and subsequently Corvus spoke about the enemy they'd be killing today. Fury was straight forward and informative as always, and Corvus also as always made her wonder...If one, she should take him seriously and two how much of that was remotely accurate. "Never can tell with him sometimes." Now that the briefing was effectively concluded, she made her way to her quarters for final preparations.

Bloody, Bloody, Bloody, Nobeard's vision blurs, you see a farm of fungus and enemies as green as orks but not orks. Their visage to faded to make out. There is an explosion of metal, plasma, confetti, and waffles? Your mind jumps forward, to a jungle world, a civil war, and a blade of blood. A relic of legend that spells doom for all. Your mind jumps again, to a world of ice. Underground a secret so ancient none alive have confronted it before, and a figure, standing 10ft tall and wearing ancient rune encrusted armor. The figure turns, and its crimson eyes stare straight into yours. BEGONE!

Nobeard comes to, back in the cargo the briefing finished. Only Corvus notices Nobeard's state but says nothing. The intercom chimes and you hear the voice of helmsman Mikhailov.

"Sir, we have landed, opening the cargo door now."

The doors open, lowering a ramp down to the surface of the landing pad. Everyone departs, at the bottom of the ramp stand a krogan. He greets fury.

"Specter Fury I presume. I am Major Veklan Garv, please follow me."

He leads you into Normandy military base. Inside the sound of artillery dampens but the vibrations let you know just how close the battle is. You make it to the command room, and Garv stops.

"Specter Fury, you can bring one other in with you. The rest will have to wait here."

OOC: Really just need Fury to post, but if any of the rest of you want to post on the situation, feel free.

Major Garv stares at Corvus for a few seconds.

"........Ok?........um, follow me."

The command room is large with many tables each containing some electrical device and an attendant managing them. The back of the room is a giant window canvas which gives you full view of the eastern side of the city. At the center is a table that is a giant map grid depicting the surrounding area. A sea of red icons on the eastern side of the map indicates the enemy. Behind the table stands a man (human) in full combat armor. The insignia on his shoulder ranks him as a brigadier-general. He looks at fury.

"Sorry Specter, Urdnot Wrex will be with us soon, just be patient."

10 minutes later. A roar on the side of the room gets your attention. Wrex come barging through a side door, yelling into his comms.

"To hell with your honor Nakmor! If you don't fall back to the gate I will let your entire clan know that it was your idiocy that got most of their warriors killed and we can see where your honor goes from there! Do I make myself clear!...........You're damn right I am."

He hangs up and turns toward you both. He notices Corvus first but seems to not care about the hat.

"A Legionnaire here? I thought all of you were knee deep in ork sh%t on the other side of the planet."

Major Garv holds up a hand.

"Sir, he's with Specter Fury."

"Really, the Legion actively working with the citadel, times must be hard? Anyway back to subject."

He turns to Fury

"Specter, Your mission is recover a scientist by the name of Bofnan Can and get him off the planet by any means. The Citadel probably kept it classified but i'll tell you strait. He's our lead scientist on how the hell the Warp works, so yeah he's kind of important. He was last seen at Vadar hospital located here."

He brings up a map of the location

"Its located 153 miles east of here. Major Garv will supply you with ground vehicles for your mission and an air assertion is out of the question. Those Ork AA guns down anything flying 30 miles in. Any questions?"

Nobeard and Mag-Tay are joined by Tulllus as well as Vorsin for some sniping duty. The rest of your forces make their way to the mess hall. It doesn't take long to find the ramparts and get to business. Noticing you don't have an actual sniper rifle, Tulllus offers the use of his. Nobeard takes the first shot and while aiming you spot plenty of targets, but its what is out of range that grabs your attention. At the very back you spot massive artillery cannons, to big and far away for your rifle to do anything. Your precognitive senses kick in making you realize that those guns are aimed directly at the the command room.

He paused at Mag-Tay's transmission, using playback software to make sure he understood. He now had a different question for Wrex. "This building, can it take a sustained bombardment? Because I've got word it's going to."

At this point, Nobeard arrived and delivered his verbal message. "Thank you for that. Wrex, Nobeard. Nobeard, Wrex. He's my precog specialist, and a good field pilot. Now, clarify and be calm - will they simply hit us, or destroy this building?"

Fury suspected the latter, given the urgency, but he wanted to be sure.

In response to Fury's question one of the tenants hits a switch and armored shutters close over the windows. Wrex responds to Fury's question.

"If their artillery can breach here than they can breach anywhere so you might want to brace for impact."

One of the tenants calls out.

"Sir our guns have the enemy artillery targeted and are opening fire."

You hear the sound of multiple artillery cannons firing.

"Sir the enemy artillery has fired! Incoming 5 shells!"

You hear the whistling of approaching warheads and brace, 5 repeated thumps are heard around you but no sound of an explosion. After a few seconds Wrex comments.

"Damage Report?"

Tenant: "Sir they impacted but did not detonate. Wait something is wrong? A shell landed right on top of us but....... Oh shit! Everyone get o..."

The sealing explodes and a giant drill slams down on the poor SOB, crushing him. the drill continues until it is fully submerged in the floor. Above is a massive ram-shackled vehicle with a large hatch. The hatch opens and Orks poor out into the command room. How many total is not clear. A massive Ork decked out from head to toe in heavy armor also appears out of the hatch and the first thing he notices is Corvus. With a great bellow of WAAAAAAHHHHHHHGGGGG!!!! he charges wielding a Big Choppa.

OOC: The Nob is a THREAT and there are about ten boys between him and you guys. So getting a good shot off on him wont happen until he gets in the thick of it with Corvus.

Mag-Tay, on the roof. Two incoming shells impact around you in explosions of dust rather than fire. The other three land somewhere in the distance. When the dust clears you see a large ugly machine on top of the command center with a massive drill drilling into it. Vorsin points out to another roof 30 yards across from you.

"There's another one."

On the neighboring roof below you is indeed another machine and it too is trying to drill inside. One of the side hatches of the machine opens up and Orks start poring out. Cleary impatient to descend the now forming hole. They do not notice you. You can hear similar commotion on top of the command center but you don't have a good view from your position. Tulllus and Vorsin ready their rifles. Tulllus asks.

"So should we take the shots or meet up with the others?"

Drake's reaction to the chaos around him was outward irritation and inward excitement. He drew his Pheaston and turned the cloak online. It wouldn't eliminate him as a target or stop him from being hit with accidental fire, but it would reduce his profile and make him both less desirable and less likely to be hit.

He swept his assault rifle in a broad arc, aiming to cut the orcs between Corvus and this large orc down. He hoped the support personnel around them had the sense to get their heads down during a firefight, because if they didn't he probably just blew their heads off if they were anywhere near the orcs. He moved into a position with a wall to his back, and started to circle the large orc with eyes for Corvus, resolving to move in on the orc's back to help Corvus bring it down.

Bored, so bored, blah blah blah, point out I'm awesome, blah blah, save scientist researching the Warp, blah blah... wait a sec, I'm the number one Warp specialist in the entire Alliance. They can't learn things, then I'm less useful, and more likely to wind up having to go back to the Warp and my vacation would be over! Oh look, here comes Nobeard to talk about nonsense in his ridiculous accent. No one's going to believe him, I mean, he doesn't even sound French. Was he saying something important? Wasn't paying attention. Wait, artillery? Finally something to do!

Corvus unslings his bolter as his train of thought is interrupted by the ceiling exploding and a green wave coming in, with a big one also recognizing Corvus as the hugest in the room, mostly due to being wider the Wrex. He released a burst of fire at the Nob, maybe clipping a boy or two by accident, not caring one way or the other weather they die. And then, with the fluent Orkish he learned on Promethea by eating an Ork or ten, he issued his challenge while drawing his chainsword and revving it.

"Oi, you weedy git, you couldn't krump a grot, much less a spiky boy!"

Now, the trick is weather or not Fury remembered the usual rule of Corvus challenging things to duels. Which is he's just getting them to look the wrong way so it's eaier to make them catch a bullet with their skull.

On the Roof

Tulllus and Vorsin fire, taking out two orks via head shots which get their attention and a lot of loud return fire. Luckily this means the orks don't notice you as you sneak up on the machine and place the charges. After about two charges placed, a massive ork Nob comes out of the machine and looks directly at you. Instead of a right eye he has crude red optic that gives you the impression he can see you. The fact that he aims a large seven barreled gun directly at you lets you know exactly that he can see your "cloaked" ass. You start to dive behind some heavy industry air conditioning units when he opens fire. Even though his aim is bad, the amount of rounds that come out of this monster cause a couple of hits to land. Depleting your already reduced shields but luckily your armor withstands the rest. You notice Tulllus and Vorsin are pined behind the roofs edge and can only manage a few shots in between burst of fire. The orks are also starting to climb the wall while the Nob continues firing on your position. Your cover is sturdy so he can't get a direct hit on you yet.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The Command Room

The room explodes in a chorus of gunfire and screams as your team and solders on guard duty unload into the mass of green.

Corvus manages to down two orks with precision head shots before the Nob reaches him. The Nob swings his big choppa at Corvus' head but you manage to block it with your chainsword. The grinding teeth cause sparks to fly as you deflect his blow and counter with an attack to his chest. The strike doesn't penetrate his armor but it does enrage the Nob. The Nob then tackles Corvus into a wall.

After downing a couple of orks himself. Fury notices that the Nob is now away from the rest of the Orks. Fury fires into his side. Sadly the nobs armor withstands the shots and most rounds bounce. The rounds that hit his helmet do cause the Nob to stumble giving Corvus the chance to break free from the Nobs grapple.

Nobeard fires the Gar and blows the head off one ork, you fire again and knock another ork on his back. The third ork gets right on top of you. You fire, but the shot is off and you blow off the orks hand holding a slugga. The ork swings its choppa and knocks the Gar out of your hands and then makes another swing toward your head. With your quick reflexes you grab your axe and deflect the blow. You noticed the ork you shot earlier get back up and he too is charging you. You are now stuck in melee.

Drake noted that Corvus had gone into combat with his usual enthusiasm, and decided to forego his Plan A of flanking the Nob. After all, the Nob might be distracted looking for the one that knocked his helmet down over his eyes, a critical and fatal distraction when fighting a blood-happy Astartes in hand-to-hand.

Instead, he opted to leap to Nobeard's position, using his bionically empowered legs to fuel his attack against the Ork trying to charge in on the Eldar gunner, the one that was getting up. Fury's plan was simple: to use his Omni-Fist and hit the Ork in the face - from behind.

If the ork is summarily dispatched, he will simply continue to the other one and relieve his gunner of any hand-to-hand pressure with a swift punch also aimed at the back of the ork's face or if, the ork whirls to deal with Fury, aimed at destroying his choppa at the handle.

Mag-Tay first has her turrets force a few of the smaller orcs back to towards the vehicle, then detonates the charges and deactivates her cloaking. Once the charges go off regardless of the result she then directs the turrets to provide covering fire for the snipers. She then switches her regular ammo in favor of the incendiary for the shotgun placed in her upper arms. In her lower arms was a mine that she planed to slap on or the lug if he got close enough. In the mean time she would go back and forth between shotgun fire and launched grenades, leaning a bit more on the grenades as she was hoping to clear the smaller orcs first and get the snipers help with the Nob.

Corvus drops his bolter letting the strap keep it by his side while keeping the chain sword in hand. Wit his free hand he pushes the Nob back, giving him enough room to pull one of his other stabbing utensils. With a quick grab he draws the Intoxicator, sloshing a generous amount of pure alcohol on the draw before channeling a small spark of psychic juice into it, about all that can be mustered while psychically locked, forming the crystalline long sword.

"Oi, yer smell like a knoife ear and ya foight like one ya mangy git!"

Orkish taunts, while not linguistically beautiful, almost always make fun of the Eldar, which give them a certain charm. Corvus charged in, swinging the Intoxicator at the big chopper, figuring if he can remove the ork's weapon the fight drops to a much easier difficulty while keeping the chain sword ready for a follow up from the other side or to block, using the chain on chain action to ignite his small amount of alcohol, betting a suit of Astartes power armor is better at taking small amounts of fire than ramshackle orcish armor.

Fury:

Your blow caves in the orks head and it fall dead before hitting the ground. However a stray bullet hits your side, depleting your shields and dropping your cloak. Noticing you, two orks charge, luckily neither think of firing their guns. One swings its axe at your head which you dodge and counter with a blow to its stomach. The ork is knocked back but otherwise takes the hit like a champ. The other ork swings its chainsword at your waist. You block it with your omni-fist and spark are sent flying as its teeth grind against its ME field. The 1st ork recovers and now you have two ugly SOB's to deal with.

Nobeard:

Your attack takes the ork's arm clean off but before you follow up the ork headbutts you. The ork continues the headbutting onslaught until you get fed and decide to hold your axe blade first in front of its incoming face. One resounding thunk later and your axe is now stuck in the ork's skull. It is quite dead.

Corvus:

The Nob blocks the Intoxictor, a big choppa is a sturdy weapon and capable of withstanding the blow from a powersword so it doesn't break. However your following attack with the chainsword strikes his alcohol laden chest and as expected the Nob lights up like a match. The Nob attacks wildly and you easily dodge while countering with precision blows with the Intoxicator. Even though the Nob's armor is strong, your sword is able to cut deep enough to take effect and after six blows the Nob stumbles like a drunken hobo that is also on fire. (Your next attack will finish it. Deal with him as you wish.)

Mag-Tay:

The gun-servitors down a couple orks, but orks being orks they continue their advance. Then you detonate the charges. The explosion kills many a ork and then the large drill machine falls forward, crashing threw the already damaged roof which collapses the whole thing. You managed to jump on to the side wall like a spider while all the orks fall into the building below.

Tulllus remarks; "Well that's one way to take care of a problem."

"Bring it, then!" They had a range advantage with their weapons, the weakness of the omni-fist being made clear. Drake slammed his real fist into the right eye of the orc with the chainsword, aiming to daze it and then nail the same orc in the face with quick omni-fist chin-tip, hopefully taking its head off.

The axe-orc would be sidestepped, with the plan being to put chain-orc (or his body) between the two of them to buy a split-second or two for Fury to get a bead on his foe and kill him too...or at least to stagger them both and make fighting them easier. He just needed to buy time for his shields to replenish, and kill them under a stealth field.

Either they would try to pressure him and make a mistake he could exploit, or they would be cautious and die because of it. He just needed to keep them coming at him in a line, or from the same direction.

Nobeard pulls the ax out of the ork's skull with a grunt.
After a quick scan to note if there are any orks in his immediate vicinity.
He puts his ax on his side and them performs a diving roll, picking up his gar as he passes by. He come out of the roll on his feet and then get's to work shooting more orks. Aiming mainly for center of mass But he would also take an opportunity to blow off limbs.

As according to the ill-thought out plan, the orc bursts into flame like an angry literary agent, or a match if you're boring. Now was the time, a classic technique of Astartes warfare was to be used, the Carpe Iecur. Stashing the Intoxicator, he rams his fist into the weakened armor, into the orcs guts and gripping his liver, or the closest organ because Corvus is quite drunk and not terribly picky. Then with a deft swing of the chainsword into the orcs neck, he sends it spiraling into the air.

"IT LOOKS LIKE YOU'RE OUT OF YOUR HEAD MATE!"

Normally, in these instances the Dark Prince's blessings (drugs) would shut down the screaming blood fury that the Khorne bestows within all the Astartes, but due to psychic inhibitor, it seems to be coming in hard. A bellow of pure rage, and Corvus hurls himself at the axe-wielder fighting Fury bringing the chainsword down in a massive overhand chop, and firmly placing a wall of adamantium and ceramite between the rest of the wave and the less enhanced beings.

In a flash of ceramic and alcohol the axe ork facing fury disappears leaving Mr. Chainsword ork a bit confused. Seeing an opening, Fury slams the ork with an omni-fist empowered uppercut that causes the ork's jaw to explode. Surprisingly the ork tackles Fury to the ground bringing his chainsword down at Fury's face who in turn blocks with his fist. You two spend a couple of seconds wrestling and enjoying the pungent smell and decor of the orks now jaw-less face. Suddenly a biotic hammer flashes above Fury's head, pulping the ork's cranium into fine jelly and its body slides off of you. Wrex stands above Fury, helping you back on to your feet. When you look around you see the battle is over. Corvus is standing above the corpse of the axe ork and a few others. Nobeard is finishing off the last one with a shotgun to the face.

Wrex: "Arthur, Garv, you still alive?"

"Sir." The human general stands wielding a pair of magnums. Major Garv pushing himself out from under a pile of dead orks.

Wrex: "Good. Arthur, take the survivors and go to the secondary command center. Garv, take the specter and his comrades to the garage and supply him with some vehicles for his mission."

Wrex address Fury: "Good luck on your mission son, I'm going to the front lines, been cooked up in here to long anyway."

With that team A heads to the garage.

OOC: I will allow you guys to tell a bit of the story in the next post if you wish. Your free to add any events that happen between the control room and garage that pertain to the story. You will not get access to free goodies though.

Vorsin reponds to Mag's question: "Schematic show that it is the mess hall."

You try to peer down in the hole but can't spot much threw the debris cloud. You do hear the following though.

"DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY! TRESS PASSING! BREAKING AND ENTERING! POSSESSION OF ILLEGAL FIREARMS! ATTEMPTED MURDER! ASSAULTING A JUDGE! AND RUINING MY MEAL! THE SENTENCE IS DEATH!"

With that you hear the firing of a large caliber firearm followed a second later by the sound of multiple discharges.

Drake arced an eyebrow at Wrex. "You sure about this? I lead my guys into battle personally as well, and I certainly respect the quad you must possess to do this, but I don't have a planet that will miss my leadership if I die."

He had no objection about the millennia-old veteran coming with, per se, and figured Wrex was the type to come along whether anyone wanted it or not. Mostly?

He just didn't want to deal with the bad PR in the event that the "Krogan Hero of the Reaper War" died on his watch. Might distract some of the troops.

LOOK AT THEM! WORTHLESS! NOTHING BUT WHEAT FOR THE SCYTHE! HOW CAN YOU EVEN HOPE TO BE PERFECT IF THEY ONLY SEND WORTHLESS GRUNTS AGAINST YOU! THERE IS NO IMPROVEMENT TO BE HAD HERE!

As the last ork is laid to rest with a chainsword blow, Corvus starts coming off the battle lust. Perfection, in combat? I don't care about that, why would I even have such loud and shouty thoughts about that, unless...

Corvus looks over the carnage, a fair amount of dead greenskins, and few assorted UCSC grunts that may or may not have committed the sin of being in the way of a hundred year old superhuman.

Gonna blame those on the orks. Fury might get mad about that friendly fire thing again. How can it be bad, it has friendly in the name.

He pulls the Intoxicator back out and begins drinking from it, a potent drink from some of the farthest systems, a drink created to make you forget all your problems within one drink, and he was currently at 4. Hoping the booze would help drown out what the Dark Lady is pushing him towards, because if he can't be the galaxy's best sorcerer, he'll be the galaxy's best swordsman.

"Allright Fury, Nobeard, you heard the big lizard guy whose name I forgot. He's going to the frontline, and we're going to the motorpool to get a Land Raider, or a really bitching sports car. Those are both likely options that your military would have right?"

Corvus bends down and picks up the nob's head, and tosses it in the grenade bag. He already had a plan or two for it, and he was really only looking forward to doing one. and with that, he hefts the bag and marches out of the room, looking for something fun to drive.

"Next time, literally give them hell, Corvus." He smiled. "Just don't expect to get drunk until after the mission, unless that's a thing again."

Fury knew that whatever vehicle Corvus was taking, he was going to take. It was often the only way to get those in the know to share a vehicle with the Astartes, and those not in the know heard stories, and needed to see a commander taking a risk he expected them to take. Honestly, though, at this point other drivers were too sedate.

With that you three head threw the hole, meet with Caslius and the others and head toward the garage.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Major Garv lead's Fury's group down a hall that contains a handful of ork and citadel corpses, when you suddenly hear a voice coming from a bathroom 20 yards from your position.

"Yu Umies be week and squishee, whatz uz got dat can hurt me!?"

You hear another voice.

"I'M HOLDING LIGHTING!"

With a flash and electrified ork flies out of the bathroom and slams into the wall burnt to a crisp. Two figures step out of the bathroom. Both wearing citadel N7 combat armor but one of them has a bandanna mask over his helm. The normal looking one speaks first.

"That was not a standard overload?"

"Oh John, ye of little faith, that was a custom omni-ability I call lightning bolt, it uses 95% of my tools power."

"Rodriguez, your an idiot."

"And your a horrible friend, John."

They turn to your presence and fall in line. A few minutes later you meet up with Mag-Tay and the others at the garage. As you go in you see Advar guiding Jeeho who is currently piloting Nobeard's mech up a ramp on the back of a transport vehicle known as a bulldog. It basically a massive pickup truck but with enough transport room to house your entire fire team if need be. Sadly it has no main armament. She mag-locks the feet to the bed of the bulldog and hops out.

Major Garv: "I see you've already requisitioned that, I can give you one other transport. Either a Tomkah or a Mako. The Tomkah's sturdier but the Mako's faster. Both have the same firepower and shielding. I can also pitch in a Warthog for free, its armed with the M-41 Vulcan MG."

"Well, Fury, if I'm being honest, the Tomkah seems the more logical choice, being bigger it can fit our more... sizable fighters. But then again, I have always wanted to drive a Warthog. See, Astartes vehicles are either tracked, fliers, or a terrifying daemons sealed into machinery that mortal minds weren't meant to see, and the Warthog is the pinnacle of regular human engineering. It can drive up walls and over dragon's teeth with no problems, and it can go really fast, which is important."

Corvus bounces over to the Warthog like a giddy schoolgirl, running his hand along the front bumper before pressing down and putting a dent in it.

"That'll buff out. Probably."

Now, a slightly saner indvidual might realize that the compartment meant for the driver was about as big as his foot and abort, but minor things like size were a mere afterthought to a veteran Astartes. With a deft shove, he got his legs into the floorboards, but was met with a slight problem, the steering wheel was preventing him from sitting down. Not a problem, a quick tug and throw, and one less steering wheel and Corvus was uncomfortably seated.

"Right, now where are the control levers, got a throttle here, brakes down here, a hand brake... ohhhh....

With another terrible crunch, Corvus extricated himself from the now disabled Warthog. But, if it wasn't going to go anywhere...

A swift grab, and now the machine gun was in his right hand, and the ammo box in his left.

"Since this shoddy human engineering can't stand up to my mighty Astartes body, I'll take this heavy stubber, which I'm sure you'll tell me isn't a stubber. So, I take it me and the ellllldwarf, and probably the heavies will take the flatbed for a frontal assault, while you take the rest of the squad with stealth capabilities in the armored transport for extraction. I still recommend the bigger one, but you know, you do you."

Corvus flung open the door of the Bulldog, noting the lack of driver or passenger accessible mounted weapons, but noting the now free roaming mounted weapon in his hand. Some glass shattering, and a minor unapproved modification later, and the front compartment was now set for war.

"Alright boys, who's calling stubber/navigator/ and drink holder?"

Corvus sits behind the console of the Bulldog, ready to drive off, when, disaster! The keys are missing, and everything is labeled in eladrin, the worst of all languages. Now there is a sidequest to retrieve the keys from the filthy space elves from their dark homeworld of Altiaoc.

Dredd takes the gunner seat and after a minute of you being stuck in your own little world he reaches over and pushes the ignition switch. The engines roar to life and you break out of your reverie. Noticing that nothing is labeled in eladrin you sigh in relief.

Nobeard gets in his battlesuit. The mag-locks are strong enough to keep the suit standing even while in motion so you can use it as a makeshift turret for the bulldog. Fury and Mag-Tay take the Tomkah and the unit is split into two fire teams.

Before leaving Advar calls out too Fury. "I'll be keeping Jeeho with me. Will be taking that warthog Corvus broke back to the ship to give it a overhaul, might as well not waste it."

With that you leave the city to the south than after ten minutes head east. You stop at a military checkpoint with a raised bridge that presides over a canyon. While the bridge lowers the officer in charge informs Fury that scouts have seen no enemy forces for the next 30 miles other than the army hitting the city. Also that the hospital is located in a town called Rockcreat.

Before the bridge fully downs, Corvus guns the bulldog and jumps the canyon speeding off to his destination. Luckily the bridge finishes only a few seconds later and the Tomkah follows in pursuit.

For about an hour and 30 minutes you follow a winding road through a forest. You come out of it going down a hill. To your left is still a thick forest. To your right is an open field with many crops and a large barn. In the distance you can make out the town. Suddenly, a red object comes rushing out of a corn field. Corvus, notices it is a squig and before Nobeard or Dredd can shoot it, speeds up so that he can score 10 points. It was at this moment, that he realized, he f%$ked up, for the squig was covered in C4 and chewing on sticks of dynamite. It squelched under the right front tire and explodes. The bulldog does a full 360 spin, luckily not flipping over, and comes to an abrupt stop. The right front side of the bulldog is totaled. A few seconds later Fury and the Tomkah exit the forest and slams on the breaks to avoid hitting the bulldog. Luckily everyone died in a giant fireball, the likes of which could be seen from space. Wait that's not right! Retcon that last sentence, you are all fine.

Corvus attempted to make the Bulldog go again, hitting the gas and watching as it proceeded to go nowhere.

"Well, Mister Dredd, it appears that this car has a terminal case of broken as hell. Time to get on the mic and inform the other passengers.

Attention passengers, this is your captain speaking. We'll be leaving the Bulldog and proceeding onto the Tomkah phase of our trip. Please exit the Bulldog in an orderly fashion, and proceed to the Tomkah. Remember, Astartes Tours are not responsible for lost items, so make sure you have all your belongings before exiting the vehicle. For those slower witted amongst you, truck's broke, get your shit and get in the other one."

Corvus grabbed the machine out of its windshield mount and stepped out of the Bulldog, switching his helmet to infrared mode. While other people might think this a poor choice it does exceedingly well at detecting running dog creatures loaded with lit explosives. With his off hand he activated his comm's to respond to Fury.

"Right front is gone, and simply gunning it won't make it move. While I'd love to take the time to repair it, I feel more explosive speed bumps may come out of the fields while we do. Mr. Nobeard, scan and eliminate anything you target in that field, I'll provide overwatch while the troops switch vehicles, then we'll both mag lock onto the top and play point defense turrets."

And with that Corvus looked out onto the cornfield and braced his machine gun, anything coming out was about to get an absolute saturation of bullets.

Alright, it is fighty fighty blood time. If only I had some kind of ridiculously huge gun, perhaps one meant not to be man portable... oh wait... I do!

With a pull of the trigger and a maniacal laugh Corvus swept his improvised SAW across the line of grots in front of him, firing approximately ten rounds before hearing the most disconcerting noise a man carrying a several hundred round belt can when firing full auto, a click and no more bangs.

"Well shite, shoddy Citadel tech."

Hey, I bet if you used Warptime, you could unjam it.

"You're right about that golden skull... wait.. if I can hear you... it means it's time to light up the midafternoon."

A sweep of his left hand outward and a wall of flame erupted from the ground, to his left, a sweep of the right achieves a similiar result, both hands still coated in warp fire merely a bit of showmanship for the real spell. Corvus's flaming hands clapped together before releasing a flaming beam straight ahead. Time for another good orkish taunt, switching the vox unit on for maximum noise.

Corvus's fire wall engulfs the gretchin horde with much screaming and badly smelling burnt flesh. Larger figures pour threw the fires as well. Some of them burn to death but others shrug it off and continue to charge even while a flame.

Those that exit the bulldog take a defensive formation around the tomkah and unload into the horde. Combined with Nobeard's heavy firepower you all make short work of the orks that make it threw. Their is sporadic gun fire coming from deeper within the the field but most miss and those that don't have yet to drop anyone shields.

Those outside start moving with the tomkah that Fury is starting to move around the fallen bulldog when suddenly with a loud BOOM! the barn on the other side of the field explodes. A shell flies past Corvus's head and slams into the Bulldog knocking it into the treeline behind you. Luckily there was no one in the bulldog and even better it is no longer in the way of the tomkah.

What fired the shot is now leaving the wreck of the barn in pursuit of you all. At first, it appears to be a ramshackle ork tank but anyone who takes a second glance and knows their UCSC vehicles can tell that it is a scorpion battle tank with a lot of orky bits strapped, welded, glued and ducked tape to it. On top of the turret is a large satellite dish which randomly fires out electrical bolts that at the moment are doing nothing but adding more fires to the fields. This is most likely the source of your malfunctioning scanners.

Mfundo Dabuka, who is currently in control of the tomkah's twin mass accelerator cannons, fires at the tank. Both shots hit but don't do more than knock off some of the orky bits.

"Damn it, i'm just tickling it!"

The ork scorpion fires back but the shot flies over the tomkah and lands somewhere in the forest behind you. It's moving closer for a better shot and is currently about 400-500 yards away.

Corvus delighted in the burning grot flesh and the screams of suffering, the very music of the princess of pain. Each ear shattering scream another rise in his crescendo of pure violence and carnage. Then he heard a more rumbly sound, something less tortured, and out came the tank.

"Awww, nutbunnies."

Mag-Tay takes advantage of the fact that nothing has reacted to her invisibility and begins moving to support Corvus' advance from a distance, but closer to him than the rest of the squad. She drew her Assault rifle and a single pair of pistols and directed her servitors to cover Corvus at a much closer range, having the added benefit of not exposing her position. Once she was ready she began opening fire on the orks and moving about the field to keep her position hidden.

Now normally a being even as strong as an Astartes would not be able to tear the hatch of a tank such as a scorpion, and all that propaganda about Spartans punching threw and flipping tanks is just that, Propaganda. That being said, the hatch on this scorpion is a piece of badly welded scrap metal with a large skull nailed to it. So Corvus tears it off rather easily, what greets him is the business end of a large barrel gun.

BANG!

The shot does not penetrate Corvus's armor but does knock him on his ass. The ork then comes out of the tank waist high to take another shot, but his gun hand explodes from a barrage of fire laid into the tank. Under this fire the dish on top of the tank crumbles into scrap. Everyone's sensors are now working properly again. The ork survives and with enraged WAAAAHHHGGG!! he slams his mangled hand down on something inside the tank. That's when Corvus notices the jet engines slapped to the back of the tank. They roar to life and the scorpion performs a wheelstand (or in this case treadstand) as it drag races strait toward the tomkah.

As the scorpion reaches the edge of the fields it hits the mines laid out by Mag-Tay. Now normally, land mines would not be able to send a 66 ton vehicle threw the air. But since the mines hit those very large, unstable engines, the resulting explosion causes the scorpion to perform a somersault over the tomkah. Corvus falls and face plants on the tomkah's roof as the scorpion lands turret first into the treeline beyond.

Golden Skull to Corvus: "I hope you remembered to turn on your helm's recorder. Because this will get us a ton of subscriptions on the WarpTubes!"

With the tank destroyed the rest on the orks flee if not mostly cut down by firepower released by your forces. You make sure none flee in the direction of the town and even if they did they would not make it their before you.

OOC: If you all wish to make comments or give out orders now before I continue the story please do. I also want to apologize for taking so long to post. I had/have a ton of issues to deal with this month.

While to everyone else the madness happened in a instant, perhaps about 15-20 seconds to make it look relatively epic, Warptime is a hell of a drug, making the moment last an eternity. The spiraling madness gave Corvus time to think about a great many things. Why 42? What is the meaning of the word supercalifragilicous? Did I turn off the oven when I left the space hulk before my vacation? Does a fly know it flies, or does it just assume everyone else is stupid for not doing it? A slam brought him back to reality as the warptime ran out and gravity did its thing and made marine meet apc with a loud clang, then the skull began to talk unbidden, a sure sign of madness or a daemon trying to get him to open THAT BOX again.

"You're right skull, that could get me perhaps even tens of views, I could make credits so I could fund my vacation with FREELANCE paramilitary work!"

Reviewing the footage, there was the badass action movie scene with the chain gun, then the super cool magic, but after the tank erupted onto the scene, things got a bit wonky. You see, even the impeccably designed Astartes tech has a fatal flaw, warptime is using the warp to speed things up, and to look upon it is madness. While actually fighting Corvus couldn't have seen the video, but the recording captured something very different. As soon as the warptime turned on, the video switched to a pair of Nurglings performing very graphic and pornographic acts to each other.

"MY EYES! WHY!? WHY WOULD YOU DO THIS!? DELETE, DELETE ALL VIDEO FROM HELMET CAM!"

The tank is salvaged of some munitions but most of the stuff found on the tank is to orkified for use. The half destroyed bulldog is also striped of supplies and transferred to the tomkah. Everyone gears up and you make your way to the target location. Your pace is slowed a little due to Nobeard having to jog his meck outside. When your team arrives with in eyesight of the town, Mag-Tay, Cross, Paetion, and Vaeks exit the vehicle and proceed threw the forest on the outside of town for reconnaissance. They come across a crude guard tower maned by six grotz cowering in fear and a drunk ork eating the seventh. A few well placed shots take them out quickly. Positioned on the tower, Mag-Tay takes a layout of the terrain and forwards the info to Fury's omni-tool.

Near the center of the town is the target hospital. Among the destroyed civilian vehicles are three ork trucks near the entrance with a half dozen orks milling about. Past the hospital near the other end of the town is a tram station which leads underground. Among the rest of the town you make out 30+ orks and probably double that number in grotz wandering around mostly destroying things. You then notice three human sized figures coming out of a grocery store and avoiding the orks. These figures hide behind a large dumpster until an ork patrol passes and then sprint to a manhole in the center of the 4th road and disappear down it.

End of the report of the town of Rockcreat.

You pull up the map of the sewers. Your first impression is of an angular spider web. The outer sewers that are accessible on the edges of the town are too small for Nobeard's 12ft by 6ft mech to fit even crouching. There is one main sewer line that travels down the center that is a 20ft diameter cylinder and a very large circular area that it crosses. The main sewer connects with the tram station on the other side of town and your omni-tool reads that the blast doors connecting the two are locked down. The large circular area has a diameter of about 100ft and is located underneath a park which Mag-Tay has sight to. In the center of the park is a partially collapsed building that houses a maintenance elevator that is large enough for the mech. Surprisingly the orks don't seem interested in this building. Both choices sadly offer no real cover on approach since both are located in relatively open areas.

Hammer Unit makes it to the park with little effort. The only residents seem to be a dozen gretchin milling about a dumpster. You prepare to take out the poor wretches when suddenly a loud roar of engines come from the east. Two ork trucks each with a content of boyz hootting and hollering plow into the park running over the majority of the grotz with only two lucky enough to get out of the way. As the trucks are about to pass a large oak one slams into the other forcing it to crash into the massive tree. However the one doing the ramming locks tires with the other and in turn flips itself, throwing its passengers about and landing ten yards further. The five orks form the flipped truck recover and confront the five orks from the crashed tree. Their mutual drivers knock heads and begin arguing and then begin throwing punches. The others gather and watch. One of the onlookers starts moving about the others, he takes off his helmet and makes a gesture with it. The others in turn start pulling out what looks like teeth and throws them into the helmet. Some even yank off their own teeth and do the same. All are completely focused on the fight and oblivious to their surroundings. The two surviving grots have climbed the tree and are also watching the fight, chuckling at the combatants. However this group is only about 30ft away from your target with the only cover to the building being the trees and high bushes of the park.

I've done this enough times by now, I think I know what needs to be done.

And then the red light, the universal symbol of stop, a known fact across multiple galaxies.

SEE! The go sign, as everyone knows red means go fast! And you know what this fight needs, a satchel charge, probably the third largest bomb I have!

Corvus rooted in the grenade bag before pulling out another, much smaller bag and a remote. With a deft hurl it was airborne and on it's way into the the Orkish fight club. Then with a click on the remote, sweet explosive goodness. Then came the accusing stares.

"Oh come on, if you didn't want me to kill everything in a timely manner, why would you give me the intergalactic sign of go fast?"

To guarantee distance and accuracy, and also because its Corvus, a touch of warp is added to the toss. Thus a satchel charge with a bit of pinkish purple sparkles flies threw the air and bings the ork taking bets in the back of the head, causing said ork to face plant while the satchel bounces next to the two brawlers. All the orks stop to stare at the device in confusion as Corvus hits the trigger.

The explosion sends the orks, grots, the tree and trucks flying and then everything starts to slow and even stops with the targets frozen in air and mid death. After staring at this even for a few seconds the explosion reverses and everything caught in its blast is pulled violently to the center with a sickly POP! What is left is a mound of ork and grot flesh, truck parts, and pieces of tree fused together. The flesh mound moans in pain with nine mouths as thirteen eyes stare with blank confusion.

Luckily, if anyone in hammer and anvil are disgusted by this event there stoic enough yo keep it in check.

Drartak Rug turns to Corvus. "What kind of bomb was that? And do you have more?"

Fury, Mag-Tay, and most of hammer unit check out the maintenance building while two stand guard at the entrance. To the left most of the building is caved in, to the right is a large incline that luckily leads to the elevator. Mag-Tay makes her way down and uses her omni-tool on the access panel to open it, which results in an ACCESS DENIED warning. A Vit Screen appears above the access panel and a scarred krogan's face appears.

"If you think you ugly green bastard are getting down here you can think again. Just try to open that door and we'll blow this whole building sky high!"

You undo your cloaking to talk but the Krogan beats you too it.

"A Fallen? First the orks and now the Hegemony is here? Who are you and what cha want?"

Outside the mound of flesh stops moaning and then suddenly expands like a balloon until it pops sending blood and chunks of flesh everywhere. Cross and Paetion who were at the entrance get covered in remains with much cursing. Surprising no one seems to notice the entity that is at the center of the once mound of flesh. Well everyone except Nobeard and Corvus.

Nobeard sees what look like a living shadow in the shape and size of a bird. You have seen various shadow beings in your visions before but never in person.

Corvus sees it for what it truly is. Prismatic wings fold around a scaly body on top of a trio of crystal legs and claws. It turns its head revealing a glass beak and nine jade eyes. The minor deamon then calls out.

"HOOT! HOOT! I'M AN OWL!" Corvus hears.

Nobeard hears what sounds like a thousand whispers at once and can't understand it.

The spectral bird begins to take off heading east.

Corvus merely watched the Chaos Spawn he created. I mean sure using a little push is probably acceptable, and this was a possible, but not desired outcome. Sure, there was an irritable krogan behind him yammering on about green things and refusing to open doors, but that was someone else's problem. Corvus set the grenade bag down and was digging in, looking for that grenade one of those holier than thou inquistors had when they came after him last. The spawn popping and the tiny bird daemon was not anticipated, but it let him know what he was dealing with. He pulled a melta charge and detonator out and handed them to Nobeard.

"What that is, is a Corvus problem. If this lizard doesn't open the door, put that on it and stand back. I have to go handle that, otherwise the difficulty of this mission could CHANGE, and I HOPE it doesn't CHANGE!"

Corvus took off the east, drawing the Intoxicator and readying himself for a much nastier battle, because of that thing got to call in some horrors, this world was going to be screwed, because a two way dance between a limitless and nearly limitless army is good for no one. He hoped shouting some of the daemon's favorite words might draw its attention. Once he was out of ear shot of the rest of the squad, he got down to calling it out.

Caslius: "Listen when Corvus goes on one of his MAD HATTER trips, it does more harm than good to try and stop him. Luckily, he'll serve as a distraction."

This is going swimmingly, summoned a demon, its running loose, and now orks are in the way.

While Corvus thought about how his day was slowly getting worse, the tell tale full auto fire of turrets rang out, signalling that of the entire crew of people the one he wanted least to be involved was now also involved. This was going to be an overwhelming power situation, but now it was time for a more diplomatic solution.

"Oi, you gits. Dat ork is pullin' a legga! Not proppa orky, he's a bugeye! Let's krump 'im, then we'll get the gud foight on!"

I honestly hope this works and I don't have to fight a dozen orks, well probably less from turret fire. Hitting the com switch before putting the Intoxicator to full power and taking a big hit from it of pure alcohol, Corvus now needed to solve problem two.

"Nobeard, you need to regroup with Fury. I normally appreciate the big guns when outnumbered, but this is a problem your unique attributes might make worse. I know you can see IT, and that is definitely bad, for you."

With that Corvus kept his charge going, ready to crash into the orks and cast his ultimate spell if they didn't listen to his orkish logik, or charge with them if they did to tear that damned bird right out of the the ork it was possessing if they did.

The orks pay no heed to Corvus' words thus the mighty Bacchanalian Transfer is cast. With a mighty belch the blast of alcoholic warp gas hits the orks and they begin to stumble over each other in a drunken stupor. Corvus is also drunk, but then Corvus is always drunk. A second later the orks are gunned down by mass fire. Corvus notices that anvil squad was far enough not to be affected by the power and smart enough to stay well away from the gas. Corvus aims his bolter and fires at the deamon ork. It takes a few more rounds than normal but the ork is torn apart by the high explosive rounds and the Deamon flees the ork body.

"NOT FAIR! NOT FAIR!"

Corvus raises his sword to SMITE the deamon from existence when one of the drunken orks, apparently surviving the bullet storm, tackles Corvus into a nearby car. Cursing, Corvus rams his sword threw the back of the orks neck killing it but when he looks up the deamon is gone. Cursing again Corvus goes full sprint to find the creature, not caring if the rest of anvil squad keeps up. He uses his psychic senses to look for the damn bird and hears the sound of ork gunfire coming from the direction that Corvus senses the deamon bird. A few moments later Corvus finds the source, an underground subway. When he reaches the top of the stairs the gunfire stops. Heading down, when Corvus reaches the underground station he sees corpses of orks laid all over. Then he hears the sound of servos to his right. Out from the shadows walks a massive figure, wearing the crude knockoff of tactical dreadnought armor. Its armored arms fused with its weapons, the left arm ends with a large twin barreled gun and its right arm a massive chainsaw not unlike an eviscerator, a Mega Nob. Its head is exposed but is covered in all to familiar crystal and nine Jade eyes.

"Hoot, Hoot, I found a better one."

The Deamon Nob raises its twin shoota and fires as Corvus takes cover behind a column. Nobeard and the rest of anvil squad would be reaching the entrance of the subway just in time to hear the shooting.

OOC: Cover down hear includes columns holding up the station, the reception desk to the left of the stairs, the stairs themselves at the moment due to the Nob being on the right.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hammer Squad

The old krogan leads the squad down the elevator, half way down he begins to speak.

"The names Wreclock Torvar and I know of the volus ya want. Doctor Can right? Seeing he was the only volus in this town I doubt it was anyone else. Well bad news is that you won't be finding him at the hospital. Some big time ork with more metal parts than what is natural took him to the plantation."

The elevator reaches the bottom and you get a view of the survivors. Most were children and most of those were krogan, there were some human and turian kids too. Their were two turian adults and one salarian. The gray hooded cotes they wore let you know that these were the ones you saw before. The remaining adults were all krogan. Besides Torvar there are four males and one female looking over the youngest. The four males appear to be the only ones with weapons. Torvar speaks again.

"Look if ya want to make it to the plantation, your best bet is the tram station. Bad news, the orks have been using it to transfer supplies so its guarded. Now the tram station is connected to us here and the orks don't even know it, mainly do to the blast doors blending into the wall on the trams side. However, I'm not going to open those doors without a plan. So if you got a plan lets hear it."

As he finishes talking one of the adult turians runs up with a worried look.

Turian: "Sir! Somethings wrong, one of the orks is attacking the others."

Torvar: "So? Those green bastards always fight."

TurianL "I know, but this time the big armored one just started freaking out and attacking the others."

Torvar: Show us.

It takes a few moments to reach the blast doors. On the way you hear the sounds of gun fire until it suddenly stops. When you reach the doors the turian activates a camera pic screen showing the tram station. You see Corvus at the bottom of the stairs surrounded by ork bodies. Corvus turns his head and from the side of the screen appears a massive armored ork. The ork says something to Corvus and then begins shooting as Corvus ducks behind a column. Torvar turns to Fury.

"Friend of yours?"

--------------------------------------------------------------------

Mag-tay notices ladders leading to sealed hatches near the ceiling and asks one of the krogan guards about it.

"Those will get cha in the vents. Their sealed but anyone with an high grade omni-tool can get them open. Which is lucky the orks don't got any seeing as those little bastards like to crawl threw there."

He uses his omni-tool to bring up a map of the vents which show that they connect from this part of the sewer to the tram station and their are six routes you can take. Two leading to the main area Corvus is currently in. One leading to the men's restroom and one to the women's in the station. And two leading to a cafeteria in the station.

"Negative." Fury was debating how much information to share with this Torvar. "Until I receive notice to the contrary, consider it as hostile as the rest."

"Unless you were talking about the Astartes. He's not hostile." He wasn't going to say Corvus was a 'friend' by most definitions of the word. He was, however, the closest thing. "Doctor Can is my objective, and my objective is at the plantation according to you. To make a plan of attack that will get you to open the door, I need intel on my target. What can you tell me about these orks, and can we cut their communications before we strike? If we can, the solution is simple: kill them all, and quickly."

He glanced at Corvus's situation. The Astartes had gotten out of worse. He wasn't worried yet.

Nobeard frowns at the unusual, heavily armored Nob. Noting the weird warp energy bonded to the ork.

He draws a series of runes to enhance his bullets with the ability to dissipate warp energy into the physical world. Grounding it out and calcify it into harmlessness.

Once the runic array is drawn and powered. Nobreard will take careful aim at the Nob's head the open up with Full auto with both PT44 cannons

As the ork laid down suppressive fire on the column he hid behind, Corvus did what he always did, made fun of the problem.

" Aww, what's the matter bird brain? Compensating for something? A tiny cloaca perhaps. Is that a thing birds worry about? I wouldn't know, since my bones aren't hollow and brittle."

Smart plan, make fun of the demon possessing the huge ork. Oh, I know, how about you call Khorne next and tell him skulls suck!

Quiet skull, I need it off balance. I didn't see this eventuality, I mean, yes, I figured on a big ork or ten, and a daemon or two, but not a giant daemon ork.

Looking at his option, Corvus had maybe two psykout grenades in his bag, figuring a weirdboy might be trying to butt heads with him when it would be inconvenient to fry him with overwhelming power. The sword would do the trick, but he'd need to get close to a massive ork with a massive chainsaw. He could use a molten beam or two, or the little bit of high explosives he had left to drop the station on him, but of course since the support squad decided to follow they could get caught in the destruction, and Fury has docked his pay for killing the lesser soldiers "accidentally". As if on cue, Nobeard's shots rang out, making sure this plan wasn't going to work. But it did give him an idea.

He reached into the explosives bag, fishing out one of his psykout grenades, and his last satchel charge. A bit of duct tape, and the two were fused into the psykout charge. Corvus pulled the pin, threw the satchel, turned around as cool guys never look at explosions, and pressed the detonator, hoping the combined power of chain gun, anti-psyker weaponry, and more explosives than should really be necessary would do the job.

NoBeard unloads into the ork which grabs it's attention. The ork returns fire and clash of two armored behemoths weathering a storm of hot lead begins. The rest of the squad fall back up the stairs knowing that they can't survive such firepower. Except for Drartak Rug, who adds his own shots to the fight. Seconds later the psykout bomb hits the ork and lands right on the top side of his gun arm which the daemon-ork focuses on realizing...

"OH YOU SON OF A..." BOOM!

The explosion is strong enough to knock NoBeard and Corvus a couple steps back and Rug on his butt. When the smoke clears there is a mound of what was the ceiling laying where the ork was. Luckily only about 10 ft of roof caved in and the rest of tram station is intact. The squad enters the tram and begins spreading out across the room when the mound bursts apart revealing a ruined but still living ork. Its chain arm, right torso side and legs are still heavily armored but its left arm is gone as well as its ruined flesh is exposed on that side. It then rears back and......

WWWRRRRRRAAAAAAAAAAGGGGGHHHHbnvmnvkjggasklbdklaslsdnakml!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Not letting it finish, everyone unloads into it. NoBeard having the best angle to its squishy side does the most damage. The daemon-ork screeches in pain and three tentacles sprout out of its exposed side shooting out and grappling NoBeard's right gun arm. With immense strength the creatures pulls NoBeard to it and delivers a blow which carves right threw the mech's left arm severing it at the elbow. The daemon-ork then attempts another attack but before he can deliver both Corvus and Rug tackle the ork off of Nobeard. Corvus manages to get a blow in with the Intoxicator which gets another scream of rage out of the Daemon but it is not deep enough to finish it. The Daemon-ork then knocks Corvus and Rug back and counters with two mighty chops of its great chainsaw. The first Corvus manages to jump back and interpose the Intoxicator but the clash sends Corvus crashing into the back wall only stumbling him a bit. Rug is not so lucky as he dodges he takes a glancing blow from what is a tank killing weapon. The chain blade easily pops his shields and causes a vicious, blood-splattering rend across his chest. Rug lands on his back with a gasp desperately trying to hold in his innards. The creature walks forward to finish off Rug and the rest of the squad attempt to down it with mass fire. Sadly almost everyone is positioned facing the creatures armored side, except for Corvus who is directly behind it.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Torvar to Fury:

"Look, I can tell you that the Big Ork in there is the leader of the forces in this town and that if you can take him out...."

He turns to the screen and notices the explosion that drops the ceiling on the ork.

"Oh Wow, Ha ha, step one done I guess. As for communication all I know is that they built some kind of device behind the hospital. You won't be able to see from here but its in the middle of the parking lot on the other side. I can't promise that's a communication device but......."

He stops as you all turn to the screen again at the sound of a roar and watch the events play out. As Rug hits the ground Torvar reacts.

"Shit! I'll be damned if I witness another of my brothers dying in our town!"
He holds up his omni-tool and starts imputing a code. A second set of gate doors close behind you, leaving your forces as well as Torvar and his few armed men separated from the rest of the sewers and the civilians within. He then looks at Fury.

"Give the ready, and this door opens, then will kill that bastard."

OOC: If Fury gives the go, the gate will open with you team facing the orks exposed tentacle side. Note that you will be going from out of combat into combat so you may take actions after the gate opens.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Mag-Tay makes her way threw the vents like a xenomorph when she come across a lone grot that doesn't even have the time to be surprised before she slits its throat. When she makes it to the restroom she finds nothing inside and leaves her turrets. As she makes her way to the cafeteria the hole place shakes and she peers down one shaft to see the vents collapsed, luckily not in the direction she's going.

At the cafeteria, Mag-Tay can't make out the whole room so she undoes the vent and drops down. The first thing she notices is an ork sitting at a table eating and a grot pointing outside yelping frantically. Neither notice Mag-Tay do to her cloaking field. The ork gets fed up with the grot and takes a bite out of its face then proceeds to the door which leads to the main tram room. It peers threw the door and with a horrid grin unslings a rokkit launcher from its back and contrary to belief takes careful aim with the weapon. It is unknown who he is aiming at but it can't be good.

Once she is certain that the daemon-ork is distracted she draws her machine gun and  throws the rokkit launcher in his general direction and shoots it, hopefully blowing it up in his face.

Right, that's about enough of this. Tried to go do this as a Corvus special objective, but no, everyone follows the massive armored man who projects an aura of crazy. Really makes you question the sanity of this crew.

Corvus pushed himself of the wall and swapped the Intoxicator to his left hand.

" Usually when I put enough explosives to kill an armored vehicle into something they have the decency to die!"

And with that Corvus charged in, grabbing for the right arm with his own, trying to keep it from cutting Rug in half, while driving his sword into the creature's unarmored left side, hoping to find an internal organ and fill it with enough drugs to kill a zoo full of rhinos.

The rokkit lands at the creatures feet as Mag-Tay shoots it causing an explosion that seems to only enrage it. The creature charges forward and smashes into the cafeteria knocking Mag-Tay off her feet and into a nearby table. Corvus still grappling the creature succeeds in piercing its side and pours all the drugs and alcohol he can into it. A few seconds later the creature spasms and vomits up various chemicals and liquids before falling face first on the ground, dead.

The squad makes rounds checking to make sure no enemies are left. All seems clear. Caslius kneels over Rug, omni-tool in hand.

"Sir this is bad. The omni-jell has stopped the bleeding but half his organs are shredded. If he wasn't a krogan he would already be dead."

Torvar responds

"We could take him to the hospital, they have auto-surgery tables and one of my crew is a nurse so she knows how to use them. That is of course if the orks haven't destroyed them yet."

Mag-Tay checks the trams map and finds the path connecting to the hospital so she scouts on ahead. At the end of the corridor there are elevators and a stairway leading up to the hospital. She makes her way up the stairs and find herself in the hospital. There is a grot in front of her that she dispatches and then she tosses the corpse back down the stairs. She then finds the hall leading to "Emergency" and follows it crawling across the ceiling. The path has some side rooms which she checks and finds no enemies. When she makes it to the emergency she see five large orks(Nobz) in heavy armor and caring large mult-barreled shootas(Snazzguns) and a hole lot of grots starting to dismantle the equipment. They appear to be led by the ork with a device on its back and caring what looks like a retrofitted legion plasma gun.

The rest of the squad is still back at the elevators waiting for Mag-Tay's signal. (Unless of course someone decides not to follow protocol and does there own thing anyway.) Also both the elevators and stairway are to small for Nobeards battle-suit to fit even with the missing arm.

OOC: The only person who had faced Snazzguns before is Corvus. This is the first encounter this squad has had with Flashgitz.

"I'll have to do this in a bit more... mundane fashion then you're used to, but rest assured, they will get a death richly lusted after by their kind."

Now, Corvus from experience fighting Orks knows 2 very important things. If challenged to hit the broad side of a barn, a squad of Orks will hit literally everything but the barn, and anything resembling a hit was a lucky ricochet or shrapnel from another hit. His other important Ork fact is that their weapons are never quite what they seem, so parts from Legion or Citadel tech could be incorporated for looks, or to cause a massively unintended effect, like adding a pilot light from a flamer to a machine gun to make it shoot flaming bullets, since Ork technology doesn't really work so much as do what they believe it does. Up the stairs he climbed, as sneakily as a 7 foot tall murder machine clad in another foot of heavy armor can, and quickly into the closest side room to the emergency room he could.

++On my very obvious signal, wipe out the green skin with the shiny gun, then worry about the ones with the bullet hoses. Hopefully ripping the big ones apart will scare the children.++

Corvus pulled his bolt pistol with his right, and using just a little bit of warp dust, powered his arm up with a bit of biomancy before charging through the wall into the ER, using his element of surprise to try and grab the nearest ork with his Iron Arm to use as a orkish shield while hurling bolt pistol rounds at the one with the plasma gun, the weapon he knew his armor couldn't stop, unless it was actually some sort of nonsense ork machine, like a confetti launcher.

Anvil squad makes it to Mag-Tay and on cue Corvus kool-aid man's threw the wall straight into the nearest Nob catching it in a vice grip in the throat and forcing it to drop its weapon. It attempts to break the grip and though quite strong it fails to break Corvus's psychically empowered hold. Then Corvus fires his bolt pistol at the plasma gun ork at the same time the rest of anvil squad fires from the opposing side. What would have been a deadly crossfire has been cut short when all the rounds explode against a barrier generated by the device on the back of the now confirmed Mek with the plasma gun.

The three Nobz unload onto anvil squad while the Mek focuses on Corvus. He fires full auto and hail of green plasma streak towards Corvus. Corvus manages to position the Nob in his possession into a make shift shield as he counter fires with his pistol. The Nob is obliterated into slag just as one of Corvus's shots bypasses the barrier and hits the plasma gun causing it to erupt in flames. The mek looks at his gun, which is still on fire and burning his arm, and with a spit of disdain he tosses his gun a side and draws a power stabba. With a roar of WAAAAAAAAAGGGGHHHH!!!!! he charges Corvus.

The shootout with the three other nobz isn't looking good for Anvil squad. Many have lost shields but have at least gotten out of site before the Nobs could finish the job. However Anvil has a problem for each second those snazz-guns fire means less and less cover to stand behind. One of the Nobz falls back into a side room and then a few seconds later the wall down the hall to the right of Anvil explodes as rounds go threw it. Its obvious the Nob is making a path so that it can get a clear shot on Anvil. At this time Hammer squad makes it to the scene.

As for the grots, they have panicked and are fleeing in all directions, many getting cut down by the crossfire.

OOC: About half the squad has lost shields and are taking cover until they recharge. Fury and Mag-Tay are still cloaked as well as the other scouts.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Nobeard doubles back and makes his way to the hospital and finds himself near the parking lot. He see a group of about 10 orks and some grots milling about a large pile of scrap metal with two large electrified antenna sticking out of it. The orks notice the gunfire coming from within the hospital and are apparently arguing about what to do. They have not noticed you yet.

The Mek charges with a downward blow that Corvus parries and follows up with a warp empowered haymaker that knocks the Mek's jaw off. However such a minor wound doesn't stop the ork as he forces Corvus back threw the hole he made with madding barrage of attacks. The fight is even with both fighters incapable of getting a serious hit in however the backlash from clashing power blades combined with the structural damage of this room causes the floor below to collapse and both fighters fall into a waiting room below. The Mek recovers faster and manages to stab Corvus in the chest plate but before the blade can get past armor Corvus grabs the Mek's wrist holding the power stabba while at the same time stabbing the Mek in the side with his Intoxicator. The Mek responds with grabbing Corvus' sword arm in kind and now both warriors are enjoying a game of Who Can Gut Who First.

............................................................................................

At the same time, one of the Nobs aims their Snazz gun at the oncoming Hammer squad and is about to unload when he is suddenly struck in the back of the head with a bolt pistol followed by a corpse that knocks him to the ground. Not one to miss an opportunity, Fury and Hammer squad gun down the poor snob before he could react. The Nob on the other side breaks threw the wall and is about to line up a shot on Anvil but instead gets shot in the side in turn by Magtay's drones. Enraged it turns its attention to the drones and manages to down one before getting shot in the face my MagTay which lights its head on fire. The Nob tries to put the fire out but gets gun down in the process.

However, not everything goes your way as Ruther losses his left arm and Epocus losses her right leg from the return fire from the last Nob. This Nob realizing that his mates are dead, his boss is gone and he has been shot a few dozen times decides it's in his best interest to leave and retreats by jumping threw a nearby window leading outside.

For Fury, MagTay and the squad, this fight is over. Casualties:

Ruther: Serious injury- loss of left arm below shoulder, in shock.

Epocus: Serious injury- loss of left leg below knee, incapacitated in pain.

MagTay's drone: Destroyed- is salvageable, will need shop.

Rug: Serious injury from last battle- with other Krogan waiting behind.

............................................................................................

Outside Nobeard catches the Orks flatfooted and guns them down in kind. Just as the last ork drops the sound of glass shatters and a large Nob jumps from the upper floor of the hospital down to the parking lot. Nobeard aims his gun at the Nob and fires. Beep Beep Beep the gun overheats. The Nob notices Nobeard and raises his Snazzgun. Nobeard noticing the guns size doesn't want to test his mech's armor and takes cover behind the only vehicle large enough, a buss. The buss gets torn to shreds but last long enough for Nobeard's gun to cool but just as he is about to return fire something else catches his attention. The sound of an overly loud helicopter comes from behind the large scrap metal antenna and a Deffkopta armed with Rokkit-Launchas rises from behind it. Nobeard now has two problems.

You know, you've been laboring at this a long time. I could help you know. Say the word.

Not now Skull, I've been wrestling this ork for what seems like forever. Problem is he's a strong as I am, and we're both trying our hardest to not get stabbed more. Sure I could sheathe and unsheathe the Intoxicator to use it like a stabbing knife, but that'll probably piss him off more.

So, what's your play? Drop the Iron Arm, take a stab to the chest and blow his brain out with your boltgun? Stare lovingly into his eyes, caress his face, start a loving relationship, have a house, 5 kids, a few fleshhounds, maybe a squig...

Nope, figured this out. It's going to be explosive and painful, but so worth it in the overkill category.

And with the Corvus had his grand and terribly stupid play. Using the Intoxicator to pour pure ryncol out of the blade and into the orcs innards, hopefully filling him just enough to cause the chain reaction he wanted, and maybe getting him drunk enough to weaken up a bit. For the time they'd been wrestling he was sure the ork was rambling on about krumping and waaghing, but he'd honestly tuned it out. Now was the time for glorious action.

"Hey squig breath. Burn."

And with that Corvus released the Iron Arm, going straight into his Molten Beam, firing it up into the ork's face from the arm he was resisting with, and directly into the ork's ryncol filled side with his sword hand. It might hurt to get stabbed in the chest by an ork, but hell, that's what redundant organs are for.

Mag-Tay proceeds outside, and gains a front row seat to a Deffkopta getting blown out the sky. The explosion nearly knocks Mag-Tay off the wall. The Deffkopta's pilot however, is still alive and in a last bit of spite steers the now crashing burning wreck straight into Nobeard. Fortunately, he misses, Unfortunately, he hits the bus. The resulting explosion is strong enough to throw Nobeard's mech to the ground and into the sits of the Flash Git who doesn't waist the opportunity and unloads. Shots rake across the mech doing decent damage and demolishing the mech's head costing Nobeard his 360% camera, the mech still has its frontal cameras. Mag-Tay recovers from the explosion and finds herself above the Flash Git gunning for Nobeard.

---------------------------------

Corvus lets go of the Power Stabba and the Mek pushes it deeper. It misses Corvus' heart but pierces one of his lungs. The Mek smiles is satisfaction then his cheeks puff out as he pukes out Ryncol in surprise, then Corvus blasts his face. The reaction is instant and if Corvus was a normal human he wouldn't of noticed the split second of the Mek swelling like a balloon before exploding. The explosion erupts to the upper floors and causes Fury and the rest of the squad to take cover. After the smoke clears Corvus appears in front of the squad, armor blackened, covered in ork guts, and a Power Stabba sticking from out of his chest.

After confirming all hostiles dead, The Krogan doctor makes her way into the badly damaged clinic. She makes her way to the back and uses her omni-tool to open a secret room leading to another emergency room. She turns...

"Lucky for you, we Krogans make are buildings as redundant as us. Bring the injured and strip them."

The other two krogan caring Rug bring him into the emergency room and after removing his, Epocus and Ruther's gear, they are placed within emergency care tanks. The krogan doctor begins procedures.

"I'll stabilize them. However, even with this equipment, Rug wont be ready for combat for 3 days, the others, 3 weeks. I can patch them up enough for retrieval but the rest of your mission wont evolve them."

Pretty sure, unless I lost one on Promethea. Hell of a time Promethea.

Can't remember, I got pretty shit faced too.

You don't have internal organs Skull. The fact you can psychically communicate with me is in and of itself confusing.

To the untrained eye, Corvus was in shock after violently exploding an Ork Mek, but as he had a brief argument with his familiar, it occurred to him he had a medical bay in front of him.

Bet you fifty thrones I still have two hearts.

You're on, mostly because I have no money and I technically belong to you, so any money I have is your money...

Damn you're right. Still betting though.

And with that Corvus strode forward, power stabber still sticking out of his chest.

Left Arm 6% Completely destroyed below shoulder joint.

The suit is in need of extensive repairs.

"The blade pierced your ribs and your central lung (she brings up an image) knowing you legion types you'll heal within 5 hours."

As for Corvus' bolt pistol it is resting at Fury's feet.

Caslius reports to Fury.

"Leoz has just informed me that the village is clear of orks. Their are still some remnant gretchen but the ork threat has been terminated. New Orders?"

Mission recap: As for your target Dr. Bofnan Can, he is located in a heavily fortified ork facility about 2 miles east. There are two ways to get there. By the eastern road that leads out of town or by the underground tram station that carries supplies from the town to said facility.

Drake didn't like his options. "The surface is a warzone. We might get through, but everyone up there will be ready for a fight, will definitely call more, and we might not be capable of delivering right now."

Checking through non-alliance signals Mag-Tay gets assaulted by flurry of noises. After 10 minutes of gunshots, explosions, Waaauugh!, And various ork insults, Mag-Tay comes across something unique. An exhausted non-orkish voice.

"Oh is that all? Means I can't take as strong a hit, but I can lose a lung or three. I think. Hell, I'm a drunken marine, not a doctor."

And with that, Corvus stowed the Intoxicator, and pulled the power stabber out of his chest, still holding on to it since he was out of mag-locks. Anyone more sober than him probably would have gone into shock, but that's why drugs are good kids. He swiftly retrieved his bolt pistol, reloaded it and the bolt gun, and stowed both on his armor.

So, current status, you got a new pointy thing that's probably just going to be a chunk of metal when you swing it, but hey, at least it's big. You've got no bombs left, one less lung for now, a hole in your armor, and throwing all this psychic juice is probably making one of the bosses pay attention. You want to see if you can summon a Bloodthirster to make this even more interesting? I can help.

Quiet Skull. This is already hard enough, it doesn't need to be made harder with your prattling.

Through Skull's constant chatter, Corvus picked up the orcish drivel, target is definitely on the other side of the tram, zomborkz are apparently a thing, and need a gorkamancer to control them, the mancer part getting his attention.

"Fury, I propose we hop on the pain train, even knowing there will be an ambush, because they don't know that we know that they're deploying there. Unless they do know that we know, and knowing that we know, they know to bring more forces, but they'd have to know that we'd know that and just travel the last bit on foot, unless they knew we knew that, but they're orks. They're lucky they know the pointy bit goes in the other guy. That, and I have a relative certainty I can deal with the zomborkz, or at the very least make them a mutual obstacle."

If they did, I think they would have used them."

++Hammer copies. We are going low. Find that ambush team, and if they are coming hot, let us know.++ He nodded to Nobeard. "Welcome to Hammer unit, on the ground. You will replace Epocus. So far, it's been a good day."

The squads makes it back in time to notice the roaring noise coming from down the tunnels. The tunnel extends into the Darkness! for about a quarter mile then veers to the right. Everyone (hopefully) takes an ambush position behind the various cover. The noise gets louder as the tram flies around the corner. The tram looks like something straight out of mad max, covered in armored plates and ork iconography with exhausts sticking out of the side bellowing flames. The tram moves faster than any tram should and just as you think it's about to crash into the tram station it comes to a screeching halt and the doors slide open.

What comes out are 17 ork who are all eerily silent. Their faces stare blankly with dead eyes and metal plates with a small antenna sticking out of their heads. Their arms are amputated and replaced with various weapons and unexplained gadgets, you recognize these as the Zomborks. The last to walk out of the tram was a hunchback ork with unusually scrawny limbs holding a staff. From the hunchback's back sprout three bigger antenna.

One of the zomborks starts to topple over when suddenly a spark of electricity springing from the hunchback's antenna strikes its own, causing it to spring back to life like Frankenstein's monster. One electric bolt arks between a couple zomborks and then back towards the hunchback but bounces off revealing the personal shield barrier he possesses. You can surmise that this is the Gorkamancer, or was it Morkamancer. The G-Mancer takes a step forward.

"Grug! Where are ya you daft git..."

Then he notices Grug's corps

"Oh Zog."

Ambush time: Please state how you positioned yourself before the orks arrive and then how you go about your ambush after the "Oh Zog". You may make up terrain if you wish just remember the limits which you can find in Da Rules.

Hey, did you know Orks think everything is magic? It's true, and they're technically right, because of the Waagh field! It's why Tzeentch has a plan to gather all the Orks in the galaxy together and convince them that metal is actually candy, because the results will be amazing.

Of course Skull was right, this GorkaMorkaBorkaCorkaMancer seemed to have as much magic in him as Fury, which is to say none but a lot of metal. What originally looked to be an epic battle for psychic dominance now looked to be a regular shooty shooty bang bang, stabby stabby blood time battle, which was already disappointing Corvus, which since no one could see his face, they could definitely tell on the comms.

++"Shoot the orkish servitors in the face, I'll kill this disappointing wizard. I swear, you want Gandalf and they give you the autistic kid that plays Mario.""++

With a small grunt Corvus pushed over the vending machine he was hiding behind and unloaded with his boltgun on the Gorkamancer, still leery to use his psychic power on the supposed mage if there wasn't going to be much of a payout. Whether the shield went down or not was of little concern to Corvus, only that the Gorkamancer wasn't paying attention to the stealth operatives, because of the 50mm grenades hitting him, as your average personal force field wasn't designed to stop stabbing.

Mag-Tay makes here way into the tram, the first thing she notices is a Grot taking pot shots out the window, who she dispatches with a shot to the back of the head. Then she notices the control monitor which still looks like Citadel tech, however a ton of orky leavers, gadgets, and what not's have been riveted, duck taped, and glued to it. Most notably a fist size RED BUTTON.

Corvus makes the leap and the Morkamancer turns just in time to be football tackled by a half ton of ceramite. Both crash threw the door of the tram and nearly into Mag-Tay. The Gorkamancer curses:

"Get off me you Zoggin Beakkie!"

His eyes glow with electricity as he releases a blast that Unlimited Power's Corvus back out the door. An ark of electricity veers off and hits Mag-Tay, stumbling her and dropping her cloak. Corvus land on his back, electrified and a little singed but otherwise okay. Turns out the ork was a psyker after all. The ork stands, notices Mag-Tay and with another curse start to charge another shot. However Mag-Tay recovers faster. (What do you do?)

Meanwhile Brice takes Fury's order of "Burn" to heart and whips out her firestorm, lighting up the remaining Zomborks, giggling like little school girl. This is cut short when a metal spike flies out of the fire and strikes her shoulder, pinning her to the wall behind the squad. The resulting sound of "MOTHER BITCH!!!" lets Fury know she's still alive. Dabuka attempts to pull her down.

From the fires walks out the cause of Brices misfortune. More heavily armored then the others this Zombork appears to be the Nob of the group. Armed with what looks like an archaic crossbow for a left arm and rotating Drill for a right. It goes straight for Fury and causes his squad to duck for cover as debris flies everywhere from his drill striking the ground where Fury was at. Fury avoided the blow but now has a Nob Zombork in his face.

No Beard is just about to shoot the Nob-bork when from the corner of his eye he notices one more zombork coming out of the fire with a pair of chain blade arms and Springs For Legs? He fires at the zombork but it does a Go-Go-Gadget and jumps over the shot, launching it self straight at No Beard. No Beard avoids its assault but now has his own tussle to deal with.

Fury wasted no time. He promptly struck the Nob twice. The first was a backfist aimed at breaking or weakening the Nob's drill arm, and the second was an uppercut aimed at hopefully taking off the monster's head, or at least messing it up enough that it wouldn't be able to single anyone out as a target.

Nobeard faints with his axe. The zombork responds by swinging its chain-arms at it. Then the gar is unloaded which blows the zomborks legs away and proceeds to blast away chunks as it falls to the ground. The zombork tries to move but is to badly damaged it just flails in place and Nobeard finishes it off with an axe blow to the cranium.

Fury smacks the Nobbork's drill arm to the side and delivers a powerful uppercut to its open gob smashing threw it and out the back of it's neck. The mechanical part in its head light up like a torch and its arm's fall to its side lifeless. Fury's arm is now stuck in the burning head of the Nobbork.

Mag-Tay fires her assault rifle. The Gorkamancer responds by erecting a shield and grins as the rounds bounce away. The Morkamancer stops grinning as a lighting bolt flies up his butt, propelling him forward. Mag-Tay dodges the ork as it slams into the terminal and the BIG RED BUTTON!

The tram's jet engines ignite and Mag-Tay is thrown against the opposite side of tram barely missing being thrown out the door as the tram speeds back to it's original destination.

"You Zoggin Giiiiiittt!!!" The Gorkamancer screams as he flies past Mag-Tay out of the tram and into the flames. Electrified, cooked in flames, and flung face first into the ground the ork has not had a good day. "By Mork, can it get any worse." When the Morkamancer looks up from his personal face crater what stands before him is a pair of ceramite legs. "Oh."

Corvus: You may deal with him as you wish.

Mag-Tay sticks to the wall for dear life as the high speed tram come to an abrupt stop. Even with her natural spider like abilities she is not strong enough to stop herself from being thrown forward. Mag-Tay does a barrel roll across the tram and slams into the other side, breaking her lower left arm.(Stable fracture/ Sorry don't know Eliksni physiology so you can decide how it is if you want.)

Mag-Tay stays crouched and looks out of the window. This tram station is a bit bigger than the other. She sees an ork with both arms being bionic giving orders to some creatures. These creatures are not grots but what appears to be mutated citadel species. You see a green skinned human with an oversized ork right arm. A green skinned turian who is hunched over and has arms that reach the ground like a gorilla and a green skinned bloated asari. There are more that you can't make out due to how dark the station is but you guess there probably green as well. They are all doing menial work directed by the bionic Ork. The ork turns in the direction of the tram.

"Snirbok! You back! Were you at you zombork lovin git! Snirbok!?"

What do you all do? Also battle report: Mag-Tay separated, broken lower left arm. Brice wounded, rebar spike imbedded in shoulder.

And with that Corvus grabbed the Ork by the head and squeezed, the super human strength of a full Astartes crushing the ork's head like an over ripe melon, green fungus blood spurting into the air.

"JUST FUCKING ONCE I WANT A PROPER WIZARD BATTLE! SPELLS AND CRAP! TAPPING FOR MANA, EXPALLIARAMUS, I CAST FUCKING LIGHTNING BOLT! REAL UNLIMITED ULTIMATE POWER!"

And then Corvus came to a stark realization.

"Where's the fucking train?"

Fury smashed the blazing orc skull on his arm against the wall. "Get off me!"

He glanced to Corvus, but focused his attention on Brice as he slapped the last traces of fire out on himself. "We're going to get that out, and medgel it."

"I need medgel on standby in case they go into shock." When the nearest person with medgel was ready, Fury nodded to them, and then spoke to Brice. "This is going to hurt a lot, Brice, but I need you to not black out on me. You are going to live, but you aren't going to like it for a few seconds, and you might vomit. No shame in it."

He grabbed the rebar solidly on both ends, breaking off one side of it. He took a breath. "Get ready."

He pulled Brice loose as the medigel was applied, Brice was not pleased with the outcome, but they were going to live, and they could move.

++Stay on recon. Be an eye for us, and let us know if they have any surprises waiting for us, or coming our way. Stay alive.++

He analyzed the pictures coming through his feed, and really felt an urge to start chewing on a cigar. "What the fuck...?"

"Hey, Corvus. Never mind that wizard bullshit right now, I need your brain for something else. You've fought the greenskins longer than any of us. These guys normally mutate other races and put bionics in them, like the goddamn Necromorphs or the Flood? Because as far as I know, orks don't do that."

Mag-Tay injects the medi-gel and her arm goes numb as it fills and replaces damage as well as resetting the broken bone like an internal cast. The bone is still technically broken so overuse of that arm is ill advised. As Mag-Tay reports to Fury the cyber-armed ork gets impatient and stomps into the tram. The only thing he come across is the body of the dead grot. At the same time another ork comes into view followed by more citadel-ork mutants. This ork has one robotic eye that looks like an old camera lens and its right hand has been replaced by a metal stump attached to a chain which in turn is attached to a cyborg squig. Two more squigs follow suit to form a circle around camera eye.

Camera eye: "Oi Gutrentch! is Snirbok back!"

Gutrentch: "Nah! Da only one here is dis stupid git...and hez dead!"

Gutrentch tosses the corps of the grot towards Camera Eye who's cyber squig immediately leaps and snatches it. The two other squigs follow suit and begin tearing into the corps until the cyber squig stops, sniffs the corpse, then the air and turns in Mag-Tays direction growling. The other two follow suit and leap toward the top of of the tram crashing into the spikes. One attempts to climb over while the other attempts to bite threw. Camera eye looks at the commotion and with his good hand adjusts his mechanical eye. He smiles.

"Gutrentch........wez got kompany."

Mag-Tay hears a loud bang as bullet holes start appearing out of the top of the tram. She also notices that camera eye is gathering the mutants to surround the tram. The mutants themselves look oblivious to their surrounding at first but when ordered immediately go into battle mode.

Battle report: Mag-Tay is now engaged with 2 orks, 3 squigs, and can see 11 ork-mutants of various race. There may be more in the shadows. The rest of the squad can hear the commotion over the comm.

That was a mystery for another time, and he'd have to figure out the actual detection method as soon as he could. He caught Mag-Tay's intentions quickly. He'd have likely done something similar in that situation.

He raised his voice, and made his command clear. "Everyone, off the tracks! Now! Incoming tram and hostiles!"

He'd carry Brice, if he had to. No man or equipment left behind.

Mag-Tay strikes the BIG RED BUTTON, it sputters and sparks but then, NOTHING! The mutants start jumping on the tram like an old horror movie. Gutrentch flicks his right cyber-arm, unleashing a pair of blades Predator style and makes a swing at Mag-Tay's head. She avoids the blow and his strike cuts the council in half. Gutrentch turns to fire his slugga when another sputtering sound occurs, then a roar as the tram takes off. Hurling Gutrentch against the broken council and Mag-Tay nearly out the door again.

Mag-Tay getting a view outside sees Camara-Eye dangling from his chain squig who is gripping the tram with much ferocity. She also notices as the tram is not on the tracks but actually flying threw the air and comes to the realization that the tram will be colliding with an oncoming wall at the turn junction. Her choices are to brace for impact or jump out of the tram. (which do you choose.)

Mag-Tay jumps out seconds before the tram collides with the wall at the turn. She recovers just in time to dodge a mouth of razor teeth coming at her face. Camera-eye managed to escape the crash and is now using his chained cyber squig like a flail. He throws another attack which she also dodges and counters with a pistol shot that takes out the camera eye but the ork is still pressing the attack.(We shall now call him Squig Master.)

Mag-Tay takes a brief look around and see the other ork Gutwrentch crawling out of the burning tram as well as the surviving mutants. From the station that the tram just came from she hears the sounds of an oncoming hoard of mutants. She will be surrounded soon but she does notice a door on the opposite side of the tunnel, possible a maintenance area.

From squad Fury's side, the group witnesses the tram coming around the corner and slamming into the wall coming to an abrupt stop and partially exploding. Figures, still on fire, climb out of the tram and start making their way back down the tunnel, out of line of site in the direction of Mag-Tay's location. The tram is about a quarter mile away, meaning that the squad would take about 60 seconds (6 turns) to reach. Fury, Corvus (Not empowered) and NoBeard would take 20 seconds.

"Secure that tram. Shoot anything coming out of it!" Fury moved as quickly as his bionic legs would allow him to hit the burning monsters from the sides. He figured they must be relying on some alternative sense - when he had been set on a full body burn in the past, he couldn't see a blasted thing.

He fired short bursts from his M-11, aiming to take a few of them down quietly before they had a chance to realize what was going on.

"I've never personally seen an Ork decide to staple ork stuff to other creatures, but they are very much Orky see, Orky do. I remember back on Promethea one saw me spray a Nob with the Intoxicator, and decided to make a beer cannon. Best loot I ever took, if I could only get the rat bastard to work. Could have found any number of nasty gribblies out in the void, Tzeentch's minions are pretty much nightmares of mutation that could have caught their eye, and there's always the old myths of Fabius Bile. And I've heard some rumors in the bars of a cult that's mixing themselves with a variety of XNA, but I haven't beat any to death yet..."

And a staggering crash interrupted Corvus's diatribe, which would have probably turned shockingly racist shortly. He looked down the tunnel and did some quick drunken math in his head. The odds of his plan being safe, or even sane were low, but hell, you only live once, or as many times as the Chaos Gods feel like bringing you back.

"Alright, when everything flashes and time seems to stand still, run to combat. This may have longer reaching consequences..."

And with that Corvus warptimed himself, using his increased speed to throw alcohol in the form of an ancient sigil before putting his pistol into the booze sigil and firing, lighting everything ablaze as he channeled his power into it. Rituals are meant to be done with time and reverence, so the approach of doing it at 10x speed so he can make everyone run fast probably was a bad idea, but hell, Corvus was very rarely known for his restraint in most things. He also hated being called a sorcerer, he preferred, free lance practitioner of reality breaking.

You are sooo fucked. Maybe if I was there..

Last time I took you on a mission, you possessed Johnson and I had to put him down. You are in time out until you learn to behave. How are the walls of my cargo container looking? Still barren and steel?

Fuck you.

After his brief lambasting of Skull, the sigil activated, making a bubble of warptime around Corvus everyone in it moving as if they were a superhuman monster.

"Keep up or you'll be crawling while we sprint."

Corvus started jogging, cognizant of his slower allies not being able to keep up with his superior mahreen legs. Fury firing out of the warptime bubble might be bad, or he might be firing rail gun shots, physics with reality breaking madness is a fickle thing, up to an arbiter beyond even the mighty Corvus Dallaus, perhaps even beyond the mighty gods of Chaos.

Mag-Tay makes her way past Squig Master and through the heavy metal door, slams it shut and locks it. A second later something explodes followed by the sound of rumbling. A second after that something hits the door and it buckles leaving an imprint of an ork face in it. But Krogan doors, like every thing else krogan made, are built strong and stays intact. Mag-tay turns to find herself in a corridor with a door to the right (Maintenance) and a door at the opposite end (Generator Room).

Fury fires off a few shots before he is enveloped in Corvus's field. As the squad makes their way down the tunnel, it is obvious that even though everything inside Corvus's bubble appears to be moving normally, everything outside is moving at a snails pace. Fury, Corvus, and NoBeard are at point and are the first to past the burning tram and are about to ambush the enemy trying to get at Mag-Tay. This is when the tram explodes. The explosion is slow enough to be avoided but still large enough it causes that squad to take cover. Then come a thunderous cracking as the roof of the tunnel caves in and dust fills the entire area.

"Com....er come .. command.. F.ry what .s your st..us ove." Fury makes out Caslius's voice as he comes to and is about to respond when suddenly a row of sharp bionic teeth fly toward his face. He dodges under the attack and looks up to come face to face with the Squig Master and his bionic squig flail.

Corvus ignores all the tragedies of the lesser mortal world around him and notices the bionic armed ork trying to open a door. Still empowered by warp time and getting a helpful push by a generous explosion Corvus rockits into the poor sob slamming his face into the door. From his right come's and energy blast which Corvus reacts with a shield to block it but ending his warp speed buff. The attacker is an obese green Asari floating toward the party being flanked by a small horde of more of those mutants.

No beard easily avoids the falling debris and takes out a few mutants in turn. When the dust settles he has clear view of the engagement between Fury and Squig Master as well as the incoming horde. However, just as he is about to engage he hears a snarling sound from behind and barely avoids the two squigs lunging at his ass. (figuratively or literally you decide.)

Status: Cave in, the rest of the squad is missing leaving Covus, Fury and NoBeard to deal with Squig master, his squigs, Fatsari, and a horde of 30+ mutants.

Fury didn't have time to respond to Caslius, as he had a more immediate problem. He fired the M-11 point blank into the Squig Master's eyes. If he blew the Ork's face off, all the better, but he was expecting to blind them at the least.

Once blinded or disoriented, he would charge up the fists and going in for a chin punch, hopefully decapitating the Ork. But he knew he couldn't give the opponent a chance to spin that flail - he had to unbalance them and quickly.
