Rynoth:
Since I don't have the Edge book, obligation is 5/10 points for 5/10 XP and/or 1000/2500 cr?

Correct.

Re: Chargen Discussion
Our resident Jawa has graciously given sold me a completely disfunctional character sheet, likely stolen scavenged from the vast desert that is Tatooine.  I have added it to your character sheet already and made it user editable.

I think I've got everything in place (even if that place is resource-poor). Just need to figure out which obligation type to use since it could fall under a couple of those.

Re: Chargen Discussion
I am working on it, should be done today, most of the work is just transfering the numbers and stuff to the sheet on RPOL.

Sound good.  I've got some more basics to put up but it will be tomorrow before I can get that done unfortunately.  If all goes according to plan, I'd like to get this canoe underway under-weigh on Monday.

Re: Chargen Discussion
Any other ship suggestions?  Any preferred ship out of the YT-1300, E-9, or Wayfarer?

Those are all in the EotE book, I guess? Can't offer any meaningful comment without seeing them.

Is a YV-929 available or is that just to big?

Re: Chargen Discussion
Pardon the stat blocks here...just typing it up quick from work.  YV-929 is a bit of a reach at the moment with its cost...and 6 weapons. :)

YT-1300 (ie, the Falcon)
Sil Speed Handling Crew Encum Pass HP Weapons
4    3      -1      2   165     6  6     2

e-9
Sil Speed Handling Crew Encum Pass HP Weapons
4    3      -1      4   60      6  4     2

Wayfarer
Sil Speed Handling Crew Encum Pass HP Weapons
5    3      -2      10  850    5   5     1

Re: Chargen Discussion
Hmm. The E-9 is flat-out worse than the YT the way those numbers read - does it have something else going for it?

The Wayfarer looks nice but not if we need 10 people to crew it and only have four.

The Loronar is the best ship suited for long range exploration and similar missions.

In reply to Binko (msg # 31):

I like the YT personally.  It seems more flexible - But I wont complain about any of them.

Re: Chargen Discussion
Crew size isn't a hard requirement to fly the ship, it's more of a, "how many people can take actions in combat aboard this ship," deal.  The YT-1300 lists a crew of 2 but can be flown with one pilot.  The wayfarer only needs one pilot but has stations for 10.  Capital ships are another story.  One pilot can't fly a star destroyer.

In hindsight, this was a poor statement as it's wrong in a number of ways.  However, suffice it to say, you don't need 10 people to fly the wayfarer...not when the core book offers it as a starting ship while stating a suggested group size is something like 2-4 people.  :)

Re: Chargen Discussion
Looks like the character sheets are finished up!

Since there's no consensus on a ship, I rolled a d3 and got a 3.  You'll be flying a Wayfarer unless someone wants to make an impassioned plea for another vessel to your crewmates.

Re: Chargen Discussion
Since I don't remember offhand, isn't there a silhouette limit for atmospheric operations? If the Wayfarer is too big for that then we might need to downsize - hard to do the Indiana Jones stuff if you can't get down to the planetary surface.

Re: Chargen Discussion
I don't recall there being any limits like that.  I'd bet they just leave it up to GM fiat like many other things.  We've seen hovering Star Destroyers in nu-canon so I'm going to say that the ship functions just fine in an atmosphere.
