Hey everyone,

I am W1-qit, your local droid modder. I'll be specialising in mechanics and computers, and minors in piloting and gunnery to assist where possible.

I'm still searching for a victim friend to get me off my abandoned space station and into the salvage company. If anyone feels inclined to help me with that story, please send me a PM.

Welcome Zados and Nir.

Zados: I have the skill, but I am definitely not specced for it, so be my guest.

From what I gather, we now have a rather well rounded group with 2 mechanics, Nir has medicine, Zados being the charmer and the pilot, Dargo with survival, deception and lore, and my self also going for gunnery and computers. Does that sound about right?

There's also a more face-oriented character and potentially a heavy lifter building characters now. I like to get 6-7 to start in case of attrition, and I can adjust encounters as needed if everyone sticks with it :)

Actually looking at in now, the only way to pick up the pilot specialization at creation would be to start with my brawn at 1 which isn't an idea that I'm wild about. I still have 2 ranks pilot (space), as long as someone can handle Astrogation we should be all set to fly around

Both Nir and I have Astrogation as career skills, and I have 1 rank at it and am planning to continue upgrading it at a reasonable pace. So I'll never be good at it, but not terrible either.

I'm also good at short range combat (stuck with holdout blasters for the moment it looks like). Hopefully we shouldn't need to shoot *too* much stuff though

Totally not a problem - I think I was halfway there, even. Just can't imagine what goes into heavy lifting besides brawn and backpacks.

Do we have any Outlaw Techs?

Is there any chance of us starting with a second hand / otherwise run-down Alidade Class Long-Range Survey Ship? (Savage Spirits 58) It's not the fastest hunk of junk in the galaxy, but it'll fit everyone as crew (pilot, copilot, 2 engineers, 4 sensor operators) with room for passengers, reasonable cargo space, consumables for years, and extreme sensor range. Just a thought.

Otherwise voting Wayfarer #1, YT-1300 #2, then Firespray #3.

Stats are pretty decent. Silhouette 5, and a little pricey when compared to the other options for starting ships, so I don't expect a yes to the request, but it would be nice.

I myself am rather taken with the Loronar Scout Vessel (Enter the Unknown 61), that said, the Survey ship or the Wayfarer are also fine.

@Gan'ah: In that case I am actually thinking of going Mechanic, but it does mean that I won't have gunnery.

For the start, it'll be the choice of the three from EotE. The ship will be a company ship that y'all are in full control of, so long as you're in good standing with NRWS.

With that said, if there is a ship out there you all like and agree on, I'm happy to facilitate the upgrade. It won't be a matter of 'save every single credit', but probably a mix of some cash for the frame from the NRWS salvage lot, some salvaging useable components to fill it out, and then some elbow grease to bring it all together and get it in working condition.

I'll say pre-start, when crafting items/ attachments/ mods, if the difficulty is 2 or less you succeed at the roll. I will give you a few tools on the ship for y'all to use, and I imagine you'll add to those as time goes on, to facilitate the unique crafting rules.

Double posting, no matter how gauche that may be :D

We are now up to 8 players with character seeds. I am going to close recruiting here; any other interested parties can apply for a waiting list to be backfilled as needed.

I see this going one of two ways - either a) we have a couple folks fade away (not a judgement, just an observation of RPOL games) or b) we split into two away teams when exploring locations. Each split should have 3-5 players and should still be able to handle a variety of challenges.

Let's shoot to have characters done by EOD Monday. If they're done by tomorrow we can jump into the beginnings of adventure, if not it can hold for Monday.

Looking forward to it!

Hello all! I'm Kesto! Your friendly neighbourhood slicer. Specialized in computers and astrogations but have some stealth and mechanics. Being, duros, I can also capably pilot a ship though i probably won't specialize in it.



I'd like to share a website with you since we are considering ships.

Well, like I said, I'd be fine with the wayfarer or any of the nonstandard models if the GM decides to allow them. Also, do we want to get how the group as a whole feels towards the Empire and the Rebellion now, or at least decide how we usually interact with Imperial authorities if/when we run into them?

My character sheet is as good as done. I switched to mechanic, so I lost gunnery. I like the idea of having two away teams, makes for easy consolidation in the case of fallout, but with four technicians in the party it can get crowded ;).

W1-qit is ambivalent in the Empire vs Rebellion part, but since we work for a company I would guess we at the minimum grudgingly accept the Empire's rule and keep our head down.

I didn't want you to change your character for me, W1. I could've chosen a different specialization myself. You were here first, after all. As for my opinions on the Empire, I'm not exactly the most law abiding citizen, so I like the idea of keeping our heads down.

Zag your resident muscle. Anyone want a disgruntled Wookie bodyguard? I hate to feed the trope but whom ever is flying the tin can may find my stellar mapping useful....although I will have absolutely no navigation skills I can aid you in getting the "group" headed where we are going. I work cheap and stop incoming fire better than any armor EotE offers.

If there are no takers I will simply be Marauding for the betterment of the group and Company store.

You have yourself a deal Zados Bec, Zagrrargrarg vows fealty to your Smuggling ship and whatever mad cap space-faring endeavors the Falleen sees fit, just as long as there is extra rations involved and mild sweet tasting intoxicants.

I most likely will take obligation toward credits for survival gear, unless you feel your Body Guard needs particular skills we are lacking. This is a pretty large group, so I might just focus on being the straight up thug with some survival skills. Most bases seem covered.

Zag is an older jaded Wookie, who cares little for his kinds codes of honor and battle oaths, and even less for Imperial v Rebel politic. He cares about his crew and company first and foremost. Second, enjoys a vice or two and a lot of steaming plates of exotic foods.

Zados feel free to throw out ways of meeting. You could have won my freedom in a chance cube game, slowly growing from mutual distrust to something like a partnership. Let me know if there is a skill you need other than rending of limbs and cargo loading.

Any other PC's want to make connections? I am up to meet all of you, even W1-qit or as he warmly known as "The Jabbering Widget".

Character Creation and RTJ:
Characters will be working for Nabadrie Rim Worlds Salvage company. Even for Age of Rebellion characters, we're using the Obligation mechanic - you can tie it directly to NRWS if you'd like, or have it be separate. Starting value will be 5 and you can take an additional 5 for more money or XP as normal.

Technical support issue: Does anyone or can any one provide me with help linking an Oggdudes char sheet to rpol? Thank you if not I will be up an running with PP's text sheet as of tonight.

Do we have a mechanic? I thought we could use two, since I can only brawl up to 2 for beginning game unless GM allows unusually gruesome rending of limbs at starting level ;),.

As of now I can rip/slice arms off and change the oil on our bird, that is the extent. Oh and get drunk.

Pretty sure we have at least two with mechanic skill, yourself included. One droid technician/modder. After zero response on whether we have any outlaw techs, I decided to steer towards that, too. (eventually) Still starting with some focus on medicine.

All the RPOL sheets I've seen are custom - using pipe characters and table formatting for most of the stuff. I have heard good things about Oggdude's char builder but never played with it myself.

Lol thanks for catching that! De facto pilot is what I meant! Also, Dargo, GM said that up to 3 ppl can assist, so after borrowing the 4 int you'd still get 2 boost dice I think

Afraid not - I'm not quite that generous. The hold currently has racks, modular shelving units, and the starting of your workshop.

Yeah, that is the point. I get stand up relieve myself, go back to sleep or fix a drink in the sink or fix the broken shower? I don't see the issue Lamak? You can think of a handful of things which might behave that way, but you will need a bit more info to narrow it down. You think detailed sensor scans will give you what you need.

You certainly can. With the two threat on control fixing, I'm going to say the ship's handling is reduced by 1 for the remainder of the scene, after which it will be re-calibrated.

If you want to do a cold start of the sublights and dump power in, it will be 2 system strain but you can start moving immediately. If you want to do a steady pre-start and power up it will be another 5 minutes. There has been no further activity you have noticed since it blasted out the power surge.

Well, turns out we didn't need that boost die anyway so we're good. That's correct. I'll take us towards the planet, we can scan for the wreckage and sensor probes from orbit while the hyperdrive comes back online.

I was thinking we'd split into to two teams, one to secure the main wreckage and salvage anything we can, the other to stay with the ship and fly around collecting the sensor probes

I have been making quick posts to keep things moving. Here's the repairs as they stand:

Backup power - 5 minutes (Kesto)
Life support - 5 minutes (Ganíah, 5s)
Lighting - 15 minutes (Dargo, 3s) saved 6 minutes, 9m
Subspace engines - 20 minutes (Kesto, 2s) saved 5 minutes, 15m
Hyperdrive - 1 hour (they are tricky!), 1d 1c
Sensors/controls - 20 minutes, 1d 1c
Main power - 15 minutes (Zag, 2s 1a) saved 3 minutes, 12m

Essentially it has been 20 minutes since the pulse.

As to group composition, I would recommend holding off until you are at and scanning the planet. What you find and what you expect may not match :D

My mistake - sensors/controls were already repaired by W1. With the hyperdrive repairs complete, you are in good enough shape until you can hit a proper repair yard.

For the most part I've been pretty lost as to what I can contribute where, thus far - I understood before joining that things would likely lean more towards technical knowledge than more visceral skills, made a character I'd like to play anyway, and didn't expect to play a deciding role.

If we're looking to involve more crew in things, perhaps asking for assistance or looking to delegate unskilled tasks would be a start? Voting between planet/device is a tad beyond Nir's ken, and the practical/meta-knowledge implications kinda escape me, too. :)

YEah, it can be tough. I generally find games do best with a really clear start then once people get in a rhythm with each other let it flow a little more

Fixed enough to trust your lives to it. When you get back to port you'll probably want to redo some of the repairs in a more permanent fashion.

Not when you learn it. It's unique. But it's more story based than roll based so it makes it open a quite fun. You can play around with it more than d20 system i feel. I've run a game for 2 years on this system and it's still going strong.

What I mean is the system isn't great for a play by post format. It works great face to face, I've run several year long campagins in it. Online you need a really permissive GM to help speed up the rolls otherwise you spend forever asking 'what difficulty? can I get a boost?' ect.

My suspicion was people wanted to play regardless of game story, until the game actually happened and it wasn't that interesting. I've tried running a few different adventures but none of them go very far; I think I'm probably also part of the problem, but have only been part of one long-running PbP game so I'm not really sure which parts made it successful to adapt them myself.

I actually had to drop out of the game I was a player in because life got busy and PbP isn't a priority for me anymore. We didn't get far enough to have really anything to take over, but if someone wants to I'll gladly send you what I had.
