Or facts. Like the button says, "My mind is made up. Don't confuse me with facts."

:)

How do you lot like my knew icon thingie? I think I'll change it as appropriate for the adventure. Assuming there's something appropriate. And more importantly, assuming I remember to do so.

Re: [OOC] Out of Character
Since it's come up, the distance between your ship and the pirates is somewhere in the 150 - 200 yards range. Close enough that shooting them is possible, but highly unlikely. They're in a faster ship that's catching up to yours. However, they're not actually turning yet, so that cannon Artemis mentioned isn't really an immediate threat at the moment.

I'm assuming Patience has hidden somewhere?  You mentioned there was a penalty and I'm not sure how much of a penalty it was, so I'm waiting to narrate results..

Re: [OOC] Out of Character
Ah. Right. A few things:

1- If you have a die roll to make, please post it somewhere. I prefer the IC thread, but OOC is fine, so long as I know it's been made. I have a bad habit of not looking at the dice roller until I need to use it and/or look a past roll up. So if I forget to respond to someone *coughPatiencecough* that might have something to do with it. It could just as easily be that I totally forgot the roll, however. Being old is so fun. :)

2- We've reached 100 posts! Everyone wins 1 Point for their character. I'm going to be creating a thread to keep track of awards I have given, but I ask that you please track how you're spending individual points on your own character sheets.

However (see? It's not just for when you're about to die ;), if I give an award for time (ie "Happy June, have points" or "Yeah! I graduated! Have points") or if I give points for number of posts (for example, because we've reached 100 posts) you are not required to spend them on anything particular.

That is to say, you really want to learn (uhm) starship piloting or whatever, but you've never so much as seen a starship. This is a good way to learn that skill! Don't learn that skill, though. The point is, unlike normal awards, you don't have to actually have used the skill / Attribute / Advantage / whatever in question in order to put these special points toward them. (Alternatively, you can do so if you like.)

Re: [OOC] Out of Character
Well, damn. No kidding. And it's not just two, either. There were, like, ten crewmen on that boat.

... Well, still. It's in too many notes to fix now. So Eduardo is just a fantastically talented guy, I guess. :)

Re: [OOC] Out of Character
But that's right before the scene where Indiana holds his breath for several days, isn't it?  Not sure I'd count on it for "realism."  Probably those kinds of ships only ever have one person on them, and they added a so-called `crew' to make the, "I can't find Jones" moment more dramatic.

Yeah.  I'm pretty sure if a movie has one unrealistic thing in it, you can use that to argue that every other thing in the movie must therefor also the the opposite of plausible, because that's how logic works.

Check message #48, old man. grin

Peter Stewart:
He went to secure himself belowdecks.

But - well, I'm really not sure.  I'd read the post from Eduardo saying, "Si, si, rifles for pirates" as meaning that, indeed, there were at least a few spare rifles someone could borrow for the scene.  Or he might have just been agreeing with Artemis that it was OK to get the ones people brought themselves out now.  It's hard to tell.  I guess it was the OOC note about it being `important' that made me read it the first way, since I'm not sure why the second would have been important.

'Course, knowing me and our GM, he probably meant it a whole third way, which I'm missing because sometimes it's hard to understand him when he mumbles.

(Trying to remember if I said anything silly like, "You won't regret letting me into your game" this time.  I don't think I did.)

Patience my Dear, let be very careful about using this term..." ... old man. grin"  especially as I expect there are several more experienced people playing in this game.

So I did , Msg 48 in OOC ... and?
Experienced is a relative thing ...  if you are 20; 30 seems really experienced.
If you are 50, it doesn't at all ... ;)

If I remember correctly, Patience is actually a 69 year old woman from Croatia, but I may be wrong. ;)

Anyway, sorry .. this is one of those slow posting periods I warned about. I probably wont have a chance to post tomorrow, but I'll try (I have a few hours between classes and lesson planning).

Oh, also: Edoardo may not have been clear, or that may have been my fault: he does keep a few rifles on board for use against pirates should it be necessary. Peter can use one of those should he so desire.

I was clearly being far too optimistic. The school I'm teaching at is about two kilometres away and, aside from being beat, my ankle is all kinds of sore. I also haven't eaten yet, which I'm pretty sure they tell you not to do as a teacher. I also skipped my meds. And...

... Anyway, long story short, I wont be posting today, and almost definitely not tomorrow.

Total aside, Mexican hippie-kids are really focused on being hippies. I had one in my class today, and she was all "there's no perfect place in the world because of war. We should only have peace. Go live in the forest without guns." It was a bit surreal to hear that from a nine year old. ;)

Take the time you need, boss.

When you get around to it, what are the stats for the rifle Peter's been given?

Yeah, Nine is a bit young for the make love not war routine ... War is a crappy solution, but one too many are willing to use to get their way, meaning we all have to be ready to play.

Which part of Mexico? Oaxaca?  Not so many forests up here by Arizona.

Ma Itso, I'm in Puerto Vallarta right now. And yeah, that's why it was so weird. But she was wearing this headband thing and everything... It was weird.

Peter, I'll get that to you ASAP.
