Game Master:
Now I have to figure out exchange rates *grumble grumble* ;)

Ugh, and having just looked up that rate, I really hate it. It looks like so much! :/ It's not, I know, but still... yeesh.

Re: [OOC] Out of Character
Yeah, $300 a month is equivalent to a 4e Status -2 (Poor) job, so it really isn't a lot.

Re: [OOC] Out of Character
In reply to Game Master (msg # 170):

Actually the GBP is close to the standard Currency... Britain pretty much ran Egypt until 1936 per Cliffhangers. It then became a separate country with a special relationship and a Good sized British Garrison around the canal.  I'll let Peter work out an exchange rate ;-)

I'd expect something like 1 = $5 or so. Pre WW2 they are still the British Empire for real, regardless of how fragile their grip was on it.

...the discovery of King Tutankhamun's tomb a year ago.

Ten years ago. ;) Maybe nine, depending on when you're counting from. The tomb was discovered in November of '22 and it's, oh... early 1932. Before Hitler became Chancellor, anyway (I'm thinking Marchish, but I haven't really made up my mind yet and it doesn't really matter to my way of thinking, at least not ATM).

Also, you called Stewart Preston. ;)

I missed the part where anyone was poking jokes at your profession. Peter thinks you're a priest of some kind, and hasn't made the connection to ~vampires~.

Then again, he hasn't read the book and didn't see the movie Dracula when it came out in 1931. Since it was so popular, though "Bela Lugosi Dracula" is probably what most people will picture!

I've come to suck your blood! (And somewhat off topic, I'd never really seen any parts of this movie before; now I really want to, dammit. That guy what plays Van Helsing's a pretty decent actor.)

Referring to Ma Itso who made the joke about "lots of wooden stakes."

In reply to Ilse Stoica (msg # 189):

If I recall, you commented on Priests saving people with prayers while you used your crossbow.
Ma Itso asked if the crossbow used small wooden stakes.  A question , not a put down ;-)

Re: [OOC] Out of Character
I've lived through a lot of history it seems - have relatives that can recall events from the early 20th Century, and have read books about a lot of the rest. For what's left - Google is my card catalogue.  :)

Re: [OOC] Out of Character
That just makes it more frustrating - I know a lot of cool trivia about the era and egypt and everything, but my character doesn't, so I have no way to bring it up.

Maybe I'll just do so in the ooc, if it's not directly plot related.
