When a Scene thread is created, a Setting is created and posted here to describe the overall backdrop of the Scene. If New York City, then a list of prominent locations for that Setting might include the Daily Bugle, or Central Park, or any other place that a Scene could be set. The Setting could be larger or smaller depending upon the needs of the narrative. This thread will comprise of known Settings and are free to be used in any player's narrative where appropriate. An example of a Setting is provided below, prominent scene locations are listed, and all scene threads have a reference to their Setting as part of their thread title.

SETTING: ATLAS PLAZA, ATLAS PARK



Atlas Plaza sits at the very center of Atlas Park and is just full of resources for heroes to take advantage of. Heroes of all ranges of experience gather at the plaza, making it a very safe place. Aside from the occasional Hellion trying to steal a purse or jack a tire at the very fringes of the plaza's parking lots, there is little crime to note here.

Prominent Locations: Paragon City Hall, Statue of Atlas, Park Parameter, and the PTA Monorail.

SETTING: THE ZIGGARUT, BRICKSTOWN



*The Ziggarut is a supermax prison facility for super villains surrounded by a moat in the center of Brickstown in Paragon City.
*It’s part of the Zigursky Penitentiary complex, and holds over eighty foes of numerous Paragon City based heroes.
*The prison has numerous sophisticated countermeasures designed to keep the powers of the inmates in check.
*It has a strong security presence (approximately 67 highly-trained agents at all times).
*The Ziggarut is only connected to the mainland by a singular causeway; otherwise it can only be reached by air (usually by a scheduled aircraft flight).

Prominent Locations: Landing Deck, Detainment Center, Elevator Shafts & Sewer Ducts, and The Moat.

SETTING: FORT DARWIN, MERCY ISLAND



This Arachnos installation is where those with promise are tested with a series of tasks to determine whether they have what it takes to survive. Those who do are tracked for possible recruitment into Arachnos’ ranks. Those who don’t are left to fend for themselves, becoming prey to the stronger. Whether barred from entry to any other known country; a recent prison breakout escapee; or a black market enthusiast...the bottom line here is everyone is out for themselves.

SETTING: PORTAL COURT, PEREGRINE ISLAND



Portal Corporation is a private organization that specializes in the exploration of other dimensions. It was initially founded by Dr. Brian Webb, and went through tumultuous legal and physical battles before becoming the company at the forefront of dimensional exploration that it is today. The UN likewise maintains a presence.

Prominent Locations: Portal Plaza, Research & Exploration Labs, and Dimensional Ready Rooms.

SETTING: THE MAGISTERIUM, NOVA PRAETORIA



In the Magisterium, Emperor Cole's Praetors gather for the day-to-day business in Praetoria, capital of the Empire. Surrounding the Magisterium courtyard are the five most influential structures in Praetorian government. Statues of the Praetors stand like sentinels over the Magisterium, but these statues pale in comparison to the glory of Emperor Cole's likeness, which stands before his tower, hand outstretched in greeting to all who visit here.

Prominent Locations: Cole Tower, Ministry of Information & Technology, Praetorian Police Headquarters & Civic Center, and the Cole Transport Authority.

SETTING: PARAGON UNIVERSITY, STEEL CANYON



Paragon University has several campuses sparsely scattered about Paragon City where students from all over the globe come to learn. Having one of the most diverse curriculum available to any known existing college, students of science to mysticism can be seen intermingling herein.

Prominent Locations: Campus Grounds, The Library, Experiment Labs and Campus Supply Annex.

SETTING: HIGH PARK, KINGS ROW



High Park is a welcome respite from the overall grittiness and general clutter that hallmarks Kings Row. The hi-rise office spaces, condos and retail plazas seem almost out of place, having weathered the years far better than the industrial areas, warehouse districts and low-rent apartment complexes which make up most of what is known and called 'The Row'.

SETTING: THE ABYSS TOWERS, BRICKSTOWN



The Abyss Towers, where colossal skyscrapers stand upon a multilevel man-made foundation. Formally existing as a relatively unused geographical location - a chasm, enterprising engineers took to the notion that 'filling the hole' would be profitable and provide stable infrastructure. So upward they built creating the gleaming towers above the gritty underbelly that keeps it all going - a cyberpunk paradise.

Prominent Locations: Abyss Towers, Artificial Turf, and The Underground.
