Epilogue...
As the heroes depart, the Warden reluctantly takes on the role of filling in with PR detail. Not the most appealing position he finds himself put in, considering the condition the Zig is in. He regales upon the efficiency of the Penitentiary Guard and Personnel in the profoundly brief amount of time they had to contain and take appropriate measures regarding what he calls 'the incident'. He likewise informs of the overall condition of Zigursky Penitentiary, mandating that current surviving inmates be relocated to satellite PPD stations for holding until more relevant means and measures can be enabled for their continued incarceration (UV, WW and CF are all asked to assist in this endeavor...leaving their desire to pursue escapees a much delayed venture). He also specifically expresses his appreciation for four heroes, three of which were essential for ending the crisis - Crimson Fury, UV and Windwalker...one of which, unfortunately, didn't survive - Aegis-Magus (whose body was found in the ground floor's processing sector). The body of another hero is found, Sister Moon, who seemingly perished from what appeared to be self-inflicted injuries...
As time rolls on, further updates come in regarding the relative number of injuries...and casualties - approximately half of Penitentiary Personnel perished, half of those that survived exprienced severe injury. Of the inmates, two-thirds perished, the rest recieved injuries of some kind...or are simply unaccounted for. It seems The Furies were not the only ones that managed to find a way out during the crisis. Zigursky Penitentiary will need shutdown for repairs - a power plant needs replaced, multiple levels of electrical wiring and electronic systems need replaced, several Zigursky heavies also need to be replaced, interior damage is extensive and many security systems need replaced...which says nothing of needed personnel positions. It is speculated that an entirely new penitentiary might be cheaper...it's only because the Veil remained relatively unaffected that relocation is not fully considered. The Cerebreaum is not mentioned or covered, consistently referred to as 'a cataclysmic systems failure which allowed for a metahuman prison riot' and nothing more. Crey Industries is accused of being chiefly responsible for the failure of the Penitentiary's core power plant though no legal charges are pursued...

Elsewhere...
Husk lies strapped on a table, a sole light illuminating his impromptu condition as a man in a well-dressed suit and white hair approaches.
"To say that I'm
upset that you took out my associate which I took
great pains inserting within Zigursky Penitentiary's infrastructure...would be
underselling myself. However, to eliminate the entire cadre that I sent to pick you up...," says the man before taking a deep breath, "...has
truly tried my patience."
Husk merely grins...intimidation seldom worked on the symbiote that writhed inside him.
"I'm going to give you the opportunity to redeem yourself..." says the man in the suit dryly, "...where did you discard Johansen's remains?"
"We don't keep track of our
prey once we're finished with them..." replies Husk with his own sense of malice, snarling and straining at the restraints.
"...and I don't think I made
myself clear, let me put it to you this way - you can tell me where you left Johansen's body...or you can remain here while I find out exactly what it is that you
can't recover from..." sneers the man as a series of tools and implements are brought to the fore while a man dressed in a doctor's smock comes forth igniting an industrial blowtorch.
The symbiote within Husk writhes in panic...

As clean up begins at Zigursky Penitentiary, a non-descript custodial agent rummages through a waste receptacle pulling a Zigursky Guard uniform from the bin.
"Director..." reports the custodial agent into a concealed mic, "...I found Johansen's uniform."
"...and the quantum containment device?" replies a voice.
The custodial agent rumages through the pockets of the torn and bloody uniform, pulling out a relatively minute though bulky hand-held device and replies with a mixed look of repulsion...and fear, "It's
here, Director."
"
Good, I expect delivery within the hour..." replies the voice before being interrupted.
"Director, are...you
certain? The Zig...in just
a couple of hours..." stammers the custodian.
"I didn't say '
a couple of hours', I said '
in an hour'...now you've got
thirty minutes, and if you want any further part in this organization -
never second guess me again, understood?" replies the voice tersely.
"Yes Director, in route." replies the custodian as he pocket the device as a strange spark oscillates within.
Cue music, roll credits - this concludes 'Shrodinger's Penitentiary'. Okay, looks like we got plethora of sub-plots and side missions to pursue...but for the most part, that was the adventure. Rest assured, we can keep going if you'd like - it is City of Heroes after all. For the most part, what did you think? Feel free to critique and comment in the Matrix Room - I never thought I'd get to the end of this adventure. Yeesh!
