Upon arriving on the scene, Frostfire has already decimated the Crey Security Detail sent to deal with him, and is currently making his way towards the rear of the Palatial Lobby to a set of elevator tubes which reach into the ceiling and beyond.

While not the strongest mutant in existence, he's the strongest Outcast making him the defacto leader with a skewed concept of what is right - War is Peace, Abuse is Empathy and Mutants are Superior. Attempts to reason with him may be...challenging.

Windwalker turns to Crimson Fury and says.
This lot looks like they have some major computer research abilities.  I wonder if they would help me develop my hologram cat from the Zig and download it into my chip.

A little smile comes to the old monks lips.  Reminding his friend that the old man had a wicked sense of humor and a very dry one as well.

I will deal with the wounded.  Apart from that do they really need our help?  They are a powerful tech company after all.  Maybe you should ask them first?

Windwalker sets about healing and pulling the Crey Security Detail from the scene.  Effectively keeping them alive healing them so they will be ok but in a way that make them relaxed and peaceful so they don't want to fight any more.  Removing them from the area.
To the highest person he heals he says.  Pull your team out of here.  They are only going to get killed.  He points to Frostfire and CF.  Your sitting in the middle of two mega stars about to explode at each other.  It is not going to be pretty and most thing around here are going to get fried, frozen or both.

He doesn't avoid the effects, but due to his effect die matching Roulette's, her effect die steps back one step to D8, which is persistent throughout the scene.

"What the?!..." Frostfire growls as he is struck by Roulette's Hex. He turns glowering, "What're you doin', Roulette...you're genetically on MY side."

Tenzing, since there's nothing opposing you...you can get the Crey Security Detail out of harm's way. Consider them removed from scene for your action.

"Please.  This is exactly what the Hellions would have had me do:  what they trained me to do.
But there HAS to be a better way, than hurting folk,
" again, gesturing out into the streets where the riot had left damage and carnage, "and alienating us further".
And in truth, standing here right now, Roulette realised just how badly Frostfire wanted to do this ... to 'stick it to the man', and fight fist and claw for what he had to ... because it was exactly what she wanted to do, too.   In her heart, Jenn wanted to join him:  at add her Powers and presence to Frostfire, and take from this place what would suit them.

CF followed Roulette after she took off at high speeds. It was Clear Strix dealt with the mob outside, meaning Fury did not have to worry about trying to look like he was oppressing people's right to protest. Granted, it was not so great for Strix, but he seemed to be able to handle the situation without anyone getting hurt.

Still feeling 'lucky' after being boosted by the team's probability manipulator, he wove several plasma drone orbs around himself. Just in case Frostfire did something extra stupid. With any luck...not just Roulette's luck...he would not even need to use them. Still, he scanned the area for excess hostile emotions just in case. Of course the Crey security system may not like him doing this...

He flew down to where Windwalker was, remembering the monk's issues with big tech. As usual, the older man was handling himself way better than Fury would have in his situation. Still, he was sensing the need to make sure his partner knew he had backup. "Tell me where you need me, WW." He said.

CF creates a crimson sphere surrounding him as he gleans for possible hostiles in the localized area. Strangely enough, there's only one...just Frostfire.

Frostfire is a 2D10, I'll throw in 'Walking, Talking Contradiction' as a D8 because even though Roulette says all the right things, he takes it entirely the wrong way. He's not here to parlay so I'll throw in his Menace Spec at a D8 as he struggles to reassert his intentions.

Wow, he almost seriously considered Roulette's plea. Pity he's such a sadist...it wasn't an exceptional success, and his effect die, once again, steps down Roulette's effect die to D8. Frostfire now has D8 Emotional Stress.

Frostfire pauses, and for the briefiest of moments, he seems be experiencing some kind or sort of internal conflict. He looks back at the elevators, then turns slowly back to Roulette...the look of uncertainty is gone - replaced with an expression of grim resolve.

"OH you're good, you must be one of their LOYAL puppies...just because you're not wearing a collar, doesn't mean I don't see the LEASH. Think I don't see what's happening? I got eyes and ears all over this damn city...it starts with COMPLIANCE! Just like that halfwit traitor from Kings Row - she literally paved the way! Now they're putting mutants on some kind of registry!...like we're a buncha goddamn SEX OFFENDERS!

I'M not the one making it WORSE, because it already IS worse! You don't see Outcasts trying to collar the rest of humanity for being genetically INFERIOR!...and I'll be DAMNED if wear a collar for a crime I DIDN'T commit! Being born SUPERIOR isn't a crime - it's EVOLUTION!...and you'd be SORELY mistaken if you think I'm ALONE regarding this. I am Frostfire - LEADER of the Outcasts...even the MIGHTIEST lie beneath me! KEYSTONE!!!"

I spend a D10 from the Doom Pool, and...

Suddenly, CF detects another hostile...coming straight up through the floor!

A large swath of the ground floor lobby practically explodes as a gargantuan brute of an Outcast called 'Keystone' emerges.

While certainly a powerful mutant, Keystone could probably challenge Frostfire's leadership...if he wasn't so dense. He serves as Frostfire's 'second-in-command', 'bodyguard', but he mostly uses Keystone to break stuff.

Keystone does an area effect, physical stress inducing attack with lots of collateral damage, but since Tenzing opted to get the unconcious personel to safety, it's only CF and Roulette that gets effected, 2d6, +1 Effect die. Keystone is D10, he's using his strength and the all-out maneuver doubles it, so 2D10 (from Haymaker sfx), because of the destruction he causes upon entry, flying bits of flooring and chunks of foundation add another D8 strength stunt (from collateral damage sfx), the Doom Pool also gains a D8 for the mess he makes. Doom pool is now 2D8, 1D6. Finally, I add his Combat Expert because he's good a smashing stuff, D8. I'll also add Palatial Front Lobby at a D8 because that's what he's smashing through.

Roulette has D8 Physical stress as she's fortunately only grazed by a huge slab of flooring that flies past her.

Roulette was combat experienced enough to be only startled, but not completely surprised, by the arrival of the mutant stone-monstrosity upon the scene.
The flying slab caught her in the shoulder as it passes, but she managed ... by sheer luck, it would appear ... to have avoided the worst it might have inflicted upon her.

Before she could react, though, Crimson Fury as on the scene ... and on the monstrosity ... with liquid fury.

Meanwhile, Roulette wasn't going to let FrostFire off the hook.      Either the Outcast leader intended to fight alongside his minion, or he intended to use this as a distraction while he went about this self-imposed mission.
Either way, Roulette intended to prevent him.

Black Disks swirled into being about her fists, and she spun them off into FrostFire, intending to overwhelm the rebel-mutant with as much Bad Luck as possible ... in the hope that 'something nasty' would happen to him to remove him from this proverbial equation.

As the fight is getting heated Windwalker walks from dealing with the Crey Security Detail into the building.  He has a small item in his hand.  It seems Crey Security Detail lent the monk some of their tech including an ID badge.  The Monk had removed them to allow himself to deal with their wounds.  He had decides they would get in the way of the hospital tech machines.  So Windwalker had kept them for now.
He seems to be messing around with it.  Picking his target carefully and hiding his action with light given off by the attack Windwalker plugs the device into the nearest security port.

He touches a few buttons and then studies the results.

Windwalker tries to disable first the cameras and recording devices in the building then any other security device the place has.  The camaras and recording devices being his main priority.  He using the light given off by CF defense to cover himself (not sure if that give me an extra dice to roll? As additional disks strike Frostfire, he simply scoffs and heads towards the elevator. "All you do is throw those disks, but nothing ever happens. That's why I never recruited you as a member of the Outcasts, Roulette - you gotta be useful..." His smug sneer turns into an expression of shock as he steps into the opening elevator doors, "The HELL?!?..."

...into an empty shaft.

If the plummet to the bottom basement parking garage ten floors below wasn't bad enough, by a stroke of sheer misfortune, the elevator plummets down through the clear elevator shaft...it's electromagnetic controls gone tragically awry as it rockets it's way to the bottom like an industrial pile driver...

...an echoing boom confirms the elevator reached it's destination.

Keystone, on the other hand, gets a face full of high energy lumination...and crumples to the ground clutching at his eyes in sheer agony as wisps of smoke can be seen seeping through his fingers...

"AAAGGGHHH!!!" is all Keystone can muster as he screams over and over...

In looking at the dice rolls that both Roulette and CF managed to attain, plus the sheer lack of potential resistance Frostfire or Keystone could mount as a defense...they're ability to remain in the scene is marginal at best. FF really doesn't have anything to resist Roulette, and he was already afflicted with her hex abilities previously...so it's only going to get worse. Keystone, on the other hand, while durable, doesn't have eyes of stone nor brains of gravel (despite what is commonly believed). Both Frostfire and Keystone are taken out of the scene - both have received significant physical trauma. Frostfire will literally be hanging on death's door. Keystone is blinded, and will most likely remain so until some miracle of modern medicine can restore his eyesight.

"Hopkins, I want remote surveillance...now." orders the Countess as she taps a static filled screen in annoyance.

As PPD sirens can be heard approaching, CF picks up more hostiles...a lot more hostiles.

A cadre of Crey Security Power Suits land inside the lobby...each one easily on par the best that PPD has to offer. "Halt!" drones a Paragon Protector as it floats down like a marionette on invisible strings, "You are on Crey Industries Private Property - Submit or be fired upon!"

As PPD officers arrive on the scene, the 'Protector' radically changes its tune, "Please refrain from causing further property damage. Countess Crey will be more than happy to schedule a meeting so that you may air your grievances. There is no further need for violence - I am a Paragon Protector, I am here to help."

It almost sounds genuine...except it sounds like a canned response.

Consider this the start of a transition scene...

Scene: Crey Towers, Ground Floor

Elsewhere in the city...

Daniel had sifted through the minds of the construction workers that night from out of sight. He wanted all the information he could get on the bigot from earlier that day. What his co-workers thought of him, their memories of him. His address. When he had enough he took to the skies heading straight to his apartment. He watched from the roof top across the street. Relaxed, sitting back as if he was at home binge watching some TV series. Scanning through his mind all the surface thoughts at first. Picking the ones that were relevant and then after he had those he would plunge deeper based on those thoughts. He saw and felt the man's hatred. Standard bigot, just as he thought. The type of person who takes any events from their lives that they have no control over and just finds a target for their pain and suffering. Which in turn becomes hate and then rage. This is why he couldn't go all out when fighting against those other mutants. He knew full well what they faced, the hardships, the hate, the discrimination, and so much fear all for being different. He had gone through the same thing while growing up. He was just able to be a lot more subtle about his power, and there was no mistake, he didn't call it a gift. Power, he called it by what he saw it for.

He watched as the man tried to prepare his dinner. He was having a hell of a time though. Even from this far away Daniel had little trouble moving the utensils around. Turning the flame on the stove up or even knocking over lids and measuring cups the man had put down. Watching the guy get more and more angry was the fun part. He waited for the man to finish cooking his meal and sat down before he placed images of cockroaches passing his field of vision and then just disappearing. Shadows seemed to be moving here and there. The man had called out a few times thinking someone else was in his home. As Daniel continued to skim through the memories of this man he caught a few of the internet. A forum group and something called the Watchmen. Now this was interesting what's more so is the people and places that lead this man to the group. Now he had a few more pieces of a puzzle he didn't even know he was putting together. He stood with a smile on his face and a few nods of his head. He would definitely gather some more info and then chase down the rest of these targets, but first, Daniel wanted to put a tic in this man's head. He wormed his way into the mans deep center of his brain. Place the right triggers in his head and from this point forward the man would have small random hallucinations. Nothing drastic or dangerous. Just enough to make him question his sanity sooner or later. Then maybe in a few weeks Daniel might remove them, or he might just leave them. As a final farewell this night he uses his psychokinesis to fling a bag of trash through the man's open window and took off, like a rocket, to go gather the information he would need to investigate the rest of his targets.

In reply to Mender Phantasm (msg # 13):

"Tell the lady holding your leash Crey better not be involved with the bad stuff going on today. Or she is gonna get another visit from us." Fury growled at the Paragon Protector. While he wanted someone else to beat down, technically he knew Crey was the victim in this siutation...as ridiculous as that sounded. He had to hold his temper and keep from bashing the Crey Puppet in the face.

He sent down an energy construct hand to get FrostFire and bring him up to WW so he can save the moron's life. He was fairly certain someone as tough as Keystone would suffer no permanent damage, but WW could look him over as well. "Got some more patients for you, Wind Walker."

He glanced over at Roulette. "I'm glad you are 100% again. Any news about GG?" He asked her.

OOC-Can I spend xp now because its a transition scene?

Oh, Roulette and CF also get a PP for the opps they rolled. Just for reference, Doom Pool is now D6 and D8.

As PPD and EMT's arrive, Crey Security begrudgingly permits their arrival...it's clear there's no real love in between Crey Security and the PPD. Crey Security is reknowned for being little more than an organization of corporate thugs with legal permits - they give mercs a bad name because of their loyalty to 'the brand'. PPD regards them as little more than a goon squad with corporate security licensing.

Crey Security doesn't impede the PPD, they don't help either...

I may regent asking but how successful is Windwalkers hack into the system?
Would he be able to have a second go to get some info / more info.  Using the current confusion and dislike of to armed groups.  PPD and Crey Security.
You never really posted what happened.

Tenzing was successful in hacking the security systems, but once he attempted to delve deeper...that's when everything went on lock-down, the cadre of Crey Security showing up...along with the anomaly that calls itself a 'Paragon Protector'.

Outside the Outcast rampage in Steel Canyon, what also makes headlines the next day is City/Corporate agreement between Crey Industries and the Zigursky Penitentiary System for the usage of one of Crey's testing facilities to handle the overflow that the sudden influx of Outcasts members create, as repairs on Zigursky Penitentiary are still within initial stages since the Zigursky incident approximately a month ago.

It's called a containment facility, others call it an interment camp...among other things like 'Auschwitz'. Senator Goddard calls it 'a good start'...

Mark could tell the new 'containment' facility was going to be a problem. Granted just burning it the hell down would be his call, but he doubted that would fly with the higher ups. So, he had a  better idea. He needed to find a journalist willing to get a huge scoop, and would have the guts to publish. Then he could burn the entire prison down...politically.

Windwalker goes back to his gym to practice and study.  He does some research into Crey Industries, Countess Crey and the Paragon Protector.
He also lets the other know that they should all drop by when they can.  He has some interesting information he wishes to talk about.

OOC:-
How likely is it for Windwalker to have walked off with the items he pick up from the crey guards?
I think their maybe be a roll needed.

Also a note to the other players.  Windwalker is not a mutant and has no mutant powers.
