Update

As our starting funds are denominated in dollars and the books largely denominate costs in pounds sterling which very proudly makes no sense, I have created the following reference chart using Math(TM). Or, as the Core would no doubt call it, Maths(TM). I found it quite useful when buying a load of guns and horses and other such silliness.

Pennies   Shillings   Pounds   Dollars
    1         -          -       0.02
   12         1          -       0.25
  240        20          1       5

Hi all, I am the latest of the crew.

So I figure if the GM gives us an amount and the costs, that's what I am using.

Update

Because I'm American, and all the people I was expecting to game with were likewise Americans, we were converting to a monetary system that we understand. Heck, it took them several hundred years, but the British finally converted to a decimal system.

So, the Funds are in dollars, and we have expanded and coherent equipment lists that I had expected to get added to the board. It's just taking way longer than I was expecting... to convert the tables to something useful in RPoL.

But, for the time being, if you have the books, just convert dollars to pounds/shillings and buy equipment from the book.

Otherwise, you can just select equipment you'd think is reasonable for your character.

So have we discussed where we are all starting? Are we in London or can we be any where in the world or what?

If Brie is Irish, then she should be a redhead. Lots of portraits for them.

In the Victorian period, there were a lot of Irish immigrants in the more industrial parts of Scotland such as Glasgow, so you could be both if you liked.
