Holiday Season Alert!

It's that time of year again, so everyone hang on tight, it's gonna get bumpy...

Posting will likely get slower--but at least we can blame it on Family ^_^--so I hope y'all can hang on through this most miserable season, and see it through until after the New Year ^_^

No Drop Outs!!

I expect to be home over the holidays, though I will have various local parties etc. to attend, as well as working as a volunteer for the For New Salem Christmas in the Mountains -- the local reconstructed 1790s --1800s settlement whee I work in the gift shop.

Yeah. Holidaze. November was rough for me. Completely incapable of putting up any meaningful post... or even reading most of them.

Don't know what the problem was. It's like half of my brain took a sabbatical. I think it's back now.

Grimsby remarks, "I do not quite follow what an aboriginal carving has to do with it, but I agree that he may not be a man of high rank among our foes, if that is what they are."

Curse you, Grimsby!  The one time I don't double-check the origin of my vernacular quips, and you catch me out for using a non-Victorian expression!

Gasp! What's that? In the sky? Look!

Hi, everyone. After taking a very long (much longer than expected) hiatus from RPol, I'm returning. I'm very surprised to see any game I was in still running, but so excited to see Steamroller kept my character around. He's already caught me up on events, and I'm looking forward to rejoining you on crazy airship adventures!

Quick question before I post: How heavily armed did people come to this? Felicity has a long arm, but would not have brought it if the group was trying to travel light or wasn't concerned about violence. But having it will make providing cover a great deal easier, just in case.

I don't remember if everyone brought their luggage, though I have the impression that they weren't planning on returning to Sidonia. So, Felicity would have only been able to leave it in the hotel room, and it was clear how secure the room was.

In reply to GM SteamRoller (msg # 266):

I believe we did bring everything.

After we "rescued" Dr. Solar, we made the decision to go looking for Herr Schilling's "Airship" with the intention of...."borrowing" it....in order to quickly get far away from Shilling.  And we figured, after the way Shilling had lied to, and rough-handled, Dr. Solar, letting us "borrow" his airship for a little while was the least Shilling could do ^_^

Remember--Solar was concerned for his team of horses, and we had the idea to leave them with the guy who Dr. Solar was forced--by Schilling--to test his device upon.

After we used Solar's device on Shilling and his companions, we loaded all Dr. Solar's stuff on his wagon, then went to the hotel to get our stuff, as well as make arrangements to get our rented horses back to their home, then we went out to the airship.  We'd correctly assumed that Shilling had hidden it in a place that could be reached by wagon--because he was expecting to come back with Dr. Solar and all his gear.

Re: Holidays

I was reading a life of the Victorian writer George A. Sala which said that when he was in Spain in 1875 covering the struggle between King Alfonso XII's supporters and the Carlists, his train was held up by Carlists who demanded to know which side he was on. He announced in fervent tones "I am a subject of neither Alfonso not Carlos, but Victoria Regina, Defender of the Faith" and reverently removed his hat. The Carlists let him go.

Re: Holidays

I think how much you like Little Women may depend on how well you know the original story. My brother saw it with his wife --she knew the story well, and enjoyed it, but he was less familiar and said for the first hour there were so many flashbacks he could not tell who the characters were or what was happening.
