(OOC) How the Group knows each other!
Okay so from what I'm gathering right now Maenwyn has been on the road the longest. (unless I missed something I swear one of you said you wanted to have just left your home.)

So would we say thus far it has been one person sweeping up more folks or the tavern gets attacked by goblins sort of deal (i.e. just kinda happened all at once)?

(OOC) How the Group knows each other!
Ironson was the son of a family of Merchant Dwarfs. Their caravan was attacked by a Warband of Orcs near a Dwarven Citadel.  Ironson nearly died before the Dwarven Defenders showed up and routed the Orc Warband.

Ironson was brought in by the Defenders and was eventually adopted by one of his distant relatives in the Citadel.

Ironson grew up angry and wanted to take the fight to those that threatened the Citadel where he grew up. He also wanted to get stronger to be more able to defend his home.

Perhaps the Citadel where Ironson grew up was where Maenwyn went to study Clockwork.
Perhaps forming a friendship with Ironson

In reply to Maenwyn Duvainiel (msg # 4):

Zilyana has an understanding of those possessed by tinkering (although she herself has never felt that urge). I think she would love to understand the workings of such things from a non-gnome perspective.

Well that's two, how did the rest of us meet and when did Maenwyn and Ironson join?

Perhaps I'm some sort of bodyguard to Oriana? Being a gunsmith it could pull me into clockworks, figuring out how it works. Or perhaps I'm a bounty hunter for hire, perhaps hired by the clerics of Shelyn?

I'm thinking I'm more along the lines of Van Helsing or Alucard lol

Or perhaps I'm someones 'adopted' brother. Or raised by one of their clerics or whatnot.

Re: (OOC) How the Group knows each other!
I presume you’re not talking original (from the  Dracula novel) Van Helsing because he was a bit of a goof. Unless of course there were vampires involved.

But Oriana Wouldn’t agree to a bodyguard. She’ll happily work with a group, but it just hurts her pride to think that she actually would need a bodyguard.

How about if Culverin was attached to Maenwyn or Zilyana as a Bodyguard?

I didn't say you would be a bodyguard. Cul would be your bodyguard lol

My idea:
Cullen was taken in by the temple of Shelyn as a young child. The only thing left to him was his gun. Perhaps he was raised by Zilyana's parents become her adoptive brother. As they wanted him to become a follower, something inside of him refused and he became a gunslinger working for them. Orianna could be working as a cook for the Shelyn where she met the dhamphir and the gnome. No one would know he was not normal but the gnome had a feeling about it. They get sent to a town that has missing children to find out what happens, but they run into the elf and dwarf who were also assigned to the task.....

Thumbs up?

Sounds good.

Zilyana's family is the worse and they would have wanted them both to be part of their criminal syndicate--everything else sounds great.

Re: (OOC) How the Group knows each other!
To flesh things out a bit.  I think Voren's cousin who raised him was Grimly, first cousin to his mother, and his wife Ingred.  Both are clock makers who trained Maenwyn in her craft.  She was their apprentice and lived with the family when Voren was growing up.  If that works for you.

I think I'm going to change one her languages to dwarf to represent her time spent in the citadel.

Re: (OOC) How the Group knows each other!
That is good with me. It does suggest that there is some friction between Ironson and his adoptive parents. Because he chose to learn Craft:Armor rather that Craft:Mechanics

Re: (OOC) How the Group knows each other!
I don't want to cause friction.  It could be that both were metal workers, and one dealt with mechanical elements while the other dealt with armor.

Fiction in that Ironson isn't following the family tradition of making clocks.

They still regard each other as family and Ironson loves them as if they are actually his mom and dad.

Re: (OOC) How the Group knows each other!
Hi everybody.

Winterdale is Historian that often left his library to research what going on in the real world.  So it would be very easy for most of you to know him in some ways.
Even if it was just in passing.

So I let you each decide how much you know about him.  Or if you do know him.
Only thing I like is just quick post here to say if he know you or not.
That way I can post to reflect your wishes.

Thanks.

Perhaps Winer was a professor what Zilyana sought after for his knowledge of history. I like that possibility. Mind you Zil has no history proficiency but that isn't reflective of Winter.

;)
