Re: OOC Discussion (2017)
Rule of Thumb:  If you are introducing yourself as a cover instead of your real identity, roll Bluff (I'll add disguise and circumstance bonuses) and sense motive with your post.  That way I can check to see if they believe your cover and if they don't, I can tell you right away if they give a tell that they caught you in a lie.  I'll also use the sense motive roll as a baseline if there happens to be anything else in conversation that should strike you as fishy.

Re: OOC Discussion (2017)
We are getting close to a point where time will fast forward to the stop in Cherage for the night.  Consider if there is anything you'd like to do before the train arrives.  If the entire party wants to collaborate, you'll have to figure out how link up with one another, given that you are traveling in different cars.  I encourage you to swap notes and discuss everything thus far in the "Thinking Man's Tavern" Thread, but of course, indicate where on the train the scene is taking place, but ensure that we work out how all the characters get there before we jump right into that discussion.  Keep in mind not to meta-game, since I've ceased to use private lines and messages (for the most part).

I'm not in the Thinking Man's Tavern as far as I know. I don't know how to get there, or what it is meant to represent. Could you perhaps explain it?

Re: OOC Discussion (2017)

The Thinking Man's Tavern thread is the IC, out of timeline, thread for discussion amongst the party beyond the typical once per day post.  Normally, when in Flint, the Thread is located at the Thinking Man's Tavern in Bosum Strand, Unless otherwise indicated in bold or in it the header at the top of one's post.  For example, since you are all on the train, you'd need to indicate what car and cabin the conversation is in.  Since you guys are traveling in different classes, you'd need link up as a group.  Since not everyone is in the RHC, those who aren't constables need to work with me to ensure you don't get left out.  Dig deep for a character motive, and I'll drop bread crumbs as appropriate.  The party might not full gel until after Cherage.  That is ok.

For those in second class, there are several ways to get into first class besides forking over money.  I'm sure you can get creative and think of something I haven't as well.

For small updates, the party has limited once per day "message" spell capabilities as well.  Part of the puzzle is passing information and staying in contact with one another right now, as you are piecing this together separately, but none of you have the full picture (even if you did meet up, but maybe you've started to pick up on some leads or at least things you are curious about).

If you are getting a little frustrated about where some of these conversations with NPC are going, I'd like to encourage you to be patient.

If you get lost, I encourage you to spend some time reflecting on earlier posts in the IC threads, or parusing the journal in the wiki.

I don't really understand the geography / politics yet. Are we going to get our weapons back if we go into Cherage? What's the gossip on the train about how Cherage is violence wise

Re: OOC Discussion (2017)
The train returns all weapons once out of Danor.  Cherage is the capital city of Danor, and is under curfew outside of the rail enclave.  Your next evening stop will be Orithea, which is the only city in the Malice Lands.  You will cross into the Malice Lands a few hours after departing Cherage.

Re: OOC Discussion (2017)
Thanks. That's what I thought but I also thought I should check!

So are there no weapons in Orithea too? That sounds a little surprising if it's in a place as unpleasantly named as the Malice Lands.

My understanding is we get the weapons back when we cross into the Malice Lands.

Re: OOC Discussion (2017)
Hey guys, I just started a work assignment me has me working long hours doing academic work, and it's looking like I may need to put the game on hiatus for about 3-4 months.  I'm sorry to drop this all of a sudden, cause I thought I'd be able to manage my time, but it's looking to be more work than I anticipated for this class I'm in.  At best I could post on the weekends to keep things moving, but I suspect most of you want more interaction than that.  Thoughts?

Re: OOC Discussion (2017)
Once or twice a week is fine for me. My experience is that it's very hard to come back from a hiatus, but also that the games i'm still playing after several years all only post a couple of times a week

I hope the wrok assignment is fun!

I am also happy to post only a couple times a week.  But understand if that is too much to do.

Re: OOC Discussion (2017)
Ok, if people want to keep things alive, I can commit to posting at least twice between Friday-Sunday.  Maybe 3 times if I'm feeling up to it.  You guys are welcome to IC chat in the thinking man's tavern throughout the week, and take your time really embellishing your posts after Sunday but before Friday.

For those who don't know, I'm an Army Strategist, and I'm going through my 4 month qualification course, which is like grad school on steroids, and has a statistically significant wash out rate.  Basically I do nothing but read, write, eat and sleep during the work week.

That is one of the coolest courses ever. It sounds awesome (even if hard). Best of luck with it!

A gentle reminder to people. If we keep posting the GM will keep the game alive. If we don't the GM won't.

Let's keep it alive

I ended up going ahead and acting, since Griff hasn't replied. Awaiting next GM post.

Re: OOC Discussion (2017)
As much as I'd like too, I just moved to a new town and started a new job.  I'm not sure if I can be diligent enough to post regularly.  I'm looking to restart this chapter IRL at a new LGS.

Sorry guys.  I hope this has at least whet your appetite for this campaign.  its a real winner if you can find a regular group to run through it.
