1. Upload your character's portrait, keeping in mind the file size limitations and available default pictures on this site. If you want to submit an original image for your character portrait (as opposed to using a default one already on this site) it has to go through an approval process with the admins as laid out in the help section. Let me know if you want to go that route, and I'll assist you in finding the guidance if you need it. 2. Fill in your character description for your character profiles. This should be a description of the character's physical outward appearance and nothing more. As the game progresses, if the character's appearance changes, update the description of what he looks like. 3. Fill in your character Bio (keeping in mind what you want to share with the other players) and your online character sheets. 4. Begin interacting in-character at the Thinking Man's Tavern. This is a low threat opportunity to get used to how pbp role playing works, and a chance to test out the dice rolling tool by interacting with the environment. It's also a good time for the character's to reflect and chat amongst themselves about the story thus far. I'll still be available to play NPCs and the environment during this transition phase. 5. Start the game wiki. If anyone is motivated enough to volunteer, it would be a big help if someone could repackage all of the campaign journal information into our game's wiki. This can be a collaborative effort since anyone can edit it, and could be a great way to keep track of the NPCs and plot. The wiki for our game is located here: http://wiki.rpol.net/69817 Let me know if you are having any technical challenges by communicating with me and each other OOC here. General action is in black. "Conversation is in dark blue." Thoughts are in blue italics.
Action consequences are in bold red. Private messages prefaced with 'PM' or written in purple. Thoughts?

Greetings most honored and respected constables, [Language unknown: Ut itec, Ieusal, Heressvir, ilss Evecomaveday Pl is ngpoai i sta k om ekmancth beckpe'thss sta.] In order to maintain the thematic flair of the accents we will post a few words of greeting or common parlance in the clear to help let your character identify the language spoken. The software is pretty sophisticated and seemed to recognize and not scramble character names. Primordial (Risurian): English Danorian: French Drakrian: Russian Crisillyrian: Italian Berian: Spanish Common: Latin Voice your ascent or dissent and we can discuss. That said the time warp narrative is almost always faster and likely just about as effective given any amount of communication in advance. Worst case you can usually edit up the important glitches with a few PMs that need not be overly worried about the rush as retroactive details like that are highly unlikely to alter the general narrative.

So, the ship. What ship do we take? There are 5 listed in the players guide for the RHC requisition. We were told two were too conspicuous. I think the GM needs us to have a chartered crew instead of commercial passage so we can have it move ahead and pick us up at the end. (at least that's what it sounded like Delft wanted to happen). Pros and cons to taking a RHC ship that is "less conspicuous"? GM can we hire a non-RHC ship? Pros and cons? Could we even afford it? Fire as she Bears had rules for additional ship building and stock prices. Can anyone provide some insight on costs? GM? Griff would certainly use his old captain friend to work the wharfs looking for a vessel that would slip in under the cover and provide us quick extraction. He would make whatever checks are necessary. As a modus operandi, Griff treats all people he meets as potential assets. He is evaluating them from the start. Schmoozing them up to try and befriend them in the best possible way. (Diplomacy check to influence their attitude). He is actually a pleasant person and enjoys making conversation. He is also always trying to see what people might be hiding (Sense Motive check). He will use bluff (Bluff Check) to keep from giving away secrets but usually is not in the business of straight out subversion and misinformation. The best lie is a partial truth. He uses his extensive knowledge of the local area and nobility (Know Local & Know Nobility) to influence his decisions and help gain him access to where he wants to be. With that in mind feel free to take liberties.

You can charter a civilian 10 gun mercinary ship for 2,000 GP for the just the ship, but you have to pay standard pay for the captain, officers, and crew. And you can't give commands or perform the roles of the crew. Additionally, you could buy a one way steerage passenger ticket for 50 GP a head and take your chances doing the same for the return trip. If Griff can roll a DC 25, he can convince his friend to loan him a schooner without a crew. A DC 30, a 10 gun ship. DC 20, your friend will rent you a ship at half market prices. If you check the logs from the Macbannin Murder case, the captain of the Silvo is a smuggler who owes the RHC his loyalty as part of a plea bargain. He is obligated to take you in the Silvo for free, but you can't be sure that you can trust him and his crew. Then there are the remaining RHC ships. Hopefully that helps.

Failed the check to get the boat from my friend. Maybe I got him too hurt in the bar when he caught on fire. I'd better go smooth over that relationship so it doesn't worsen. So we are left with the other options.

I say we ride there on a passenger ship each of us in appropriate lodging for our covers. For our trip home though, we commission the RHC cutter Audacious to meet us at our departure port. This ensures we travel there as anonymously as possible but have a reliable ride home.

That's compared to a:
It's our best best. Do we have Favor 3+modifiers to call it in? We have plenty of time but need it for a long duration. If we do as Mourn recommended and take private transportation over to Beaumont to maintain our cover then we could lessen the duration to only a few days and keep the favor to a minimum. I recommend that course of action: Take private transportation via passenger ship to Beaumont (wait the 10 days there-magic dead zone) and then the six days by rail to Vendricce. Have the ship there the morning of the train's arrival (16 Winter) and ready to bail us out if necessary (make a quick departure). This plan does mean we have no ability to signal the ship from the train. Much of the rail line is along the water and if we had a chartered ship, which looks less likely now, that would have been handy. I second Mourn's plan with the change in ship, "The Khalundurrin".
