4D War - Chapter 007

The Basics
As GM I will assume the following:
  1. Talking with teammates is a private communication.
  2. Talking is considered in American unless the language group is used.
  3. All personal equipment is on the character until otherwise posted.
  4. The game is broken up into chapters and scenes for tracking purposes
  5. Carried monies are considered trade-able widgets / precious metals / etc in Rifts earth wealth terms.
  6. Unless otherwise posted and all that is happening in the thread is discussions when an entity decides to travel somewhere I will give some time for other entities to say differently before moving on to the next active moment in the game. All characters that didn't go elsewhere are assumed to have traveled with the leading entity.

While they are negotiating with the Captain, Matsumoto tries to connect with the AbM network to get eyes on the squad and share his ID with them as their new Taichu, and get thier IDs as his new buka.

The AbM Contingent

The team is currently offline and unable to share any information. When Matsumoto gets within rage of his unique psychic power they will activate and share their information.

Unless another agency comes across the package and triggers the self defense response, but this has not happened.

"Sarge, I'm not completely up to speed on how long ot takes to be able to set up a return teleport, but would it be possible to get to Center and get the General and his people to thr CCW embassy and then get back to where this ship is berthed? Skill Use

Garra is tired but slowly recovering, the curse she is suffering from is taxing.
Wren is dealing with the constantly changing the environments the best he can, he is happy to be alive.
The Silhouette Squad is recovering from their ordeal on the prison planet.
The former T.G.E. prisoners are alive and keeping quiet, a couple believe the escape is a trick by the T.G.E. to break their will even more so they stick to their prison conditioning as a survival tactic.


4 days later ...

The Spelljammer ship drops out of FTL and makes her way to Neo Raider City, the largest port on the chaotic criminal planet. Paying the appropriate payments to land he places down in his normal spot, Bay 11, and concludes the contract set up by the Mistress.

With the contract done the Captain is no longer on the hook to cast the spells every day to keep Wren alive.

Handing over the down payment will keep the Captain on retainer until the crew conjures up the rest of the credits or the time expires. He will browse his contacts for possible jobs while his team performs minor maintenance and servicing that can only be done planet side in a maintenance bay.

When touched down, Matsumoto begins pinging for the location of the other AbMs and attempts to determine the best strategic location for them to have been deployed. If possible he broadcasts the closest thing to a Hold Position order he can.

Finding the Guntai

1000 KM from any community Matsumoto finds the drop pod containing his Guntai. As he approaches the IFF verifies that Matsumoto is the proper person and the pod unfolds to deploy his formation. The last thing he needs to do is apply his own genetic material to the Gunso creation Vat to begin the process of growing the neural tissue that will become Matsumoto's second in command. The robotic forces stand ready to follow his orders immediately.

The Gunso will take 3D4*30 hours to grow in the Creation Vat (Matsumoto makes the roll)

It is a Mechaniod Cyborg without access to the Mechaniod psychic powers nor the mechaniod power supply, it hasn't earned the right to utilize those abilities. Since the Gunso's abilities are sealed it can live utilizing a nuclear power supply.

Scanning the planet

To complete the mission his Shogun requested Matsumoto needs to gain real time data on the planet he is on.
This will require the following skill rolls:
  • Perception
  • Intelligence
  • Sensory Equipment
  • Electronic Counter Measures

Roll each skill 1x per day, it takes 20 hours of continuous work to perform all of the skills listed. Only the listed skills will be used to correlate data towards this strike mission. After the first 10 scans Matsumoto will be able to ascertain how long the total planetary scan will take. Completing the planetary scan will give Matsumoto a list of targets that full-fill his criteria.

Scanning the planet

In the distance, Matsumoto receives a visual confirmation of the guntai. They are arranged in a modified Saku formation, protecting the drop pod containing the vat. The only sound is their flags and banners whipping in the warm, dry air.

As he approaches, all members lower their weapons and bow in acknowledgement. Matsumoto bows in return.

The Spinsters stay adjacent to the vat and the Hunters, hawks on shoulders, a little further away. The Berserkers reform into two columns leading to the entrance of the drop pod.

As he walks through the columns, the Spinsters bow slightly and disengage from the vat. Matsumoto raises his hand to the console and extends his bionic jack spike. It is inserted into the port and a small portion of his nanites carrying the needed cellular material.

The process takes several minutes to complete.

After he disengages and the growth process begins, the Hunters and Spinsters begin the ceremony in which he becomes a Sashimono-- a banner-- of the AbM empire.

After a long process of meditation and purification, his armor begins being replaced and upgraded one at a time. His do, kabuto, and mempo are modified to reflect his new role. The color scheme now matches that of his faction, primarily reds and golds.

At the end of the day, when the process is complete, the five emerge from the drop pod. The Tetsuo no Tsume-- Iron Claw-- has been formed.

The first stage of his duty is to survey Davros. He issues his orders and begins.

The Gunso will take 210 hours to produce.

GM Note

Splitting the party more than 30 hours kills the solo character.
Those involved in the 4D war all know this.

The crew is currently on their shuttle, in the shuttle bay of the Spelljamming ship they hired, on the moon of Davros IV, in Neo Raider City.

To paraphrase: "You will never find a more wretched hive of scum and villainy. You must be cautious"

Casualties of the 4D War

The crew has to make a save vs Magic. This is a 4D effect that uses the Save vs Magic to resist. The crew is affected by this event.
The crew has to make a save vs Insanity. This is a 4D effect that uses the Save vs Insanity to resist. The crew is affected by this event.

All minion NPC's not on Guam or under direct PC controlled will be killed off at the end of 30 days.

Ma'at contract is under review and has been removed from the group along with her minions (When she is capable of rejoining the crew again her character will show up then).


Solidarity Station crumbles a little more...


Wiping away the crumbling shards of reality Ma'at and her crew are gone but Ja-Hon the Promethan is now standing in the shuttle bay while the team discusses what to do next. The 4D war has risen to the point that going off alone will get that individual agent erased.

Ja-Hon has always been with the group, as far as all the minions will tell their masters, their memories of Ma'at replaced with interactions with Ja-Hon. Ja-Hon has the worker card for a possible agent for Solidarity Station +0 like the rest of the Supernaturally powerful crew (the PCs), he has chatted with 0013, gone through the Solidarity Station Medical Exam, and seen the Maelstrom Maker trying to break through the bay doors of the Crew's bunker on Solidarity Station - this last bit a result of the recent success from the -0 team.

Like many major 4D events reality deals while those that observe may not.

"Ok, we picked up most of Sarge's team, Matsumoto has his team.  So, we just need to finish dropping the general and his crew off, then go pick up the three of my crew still in the wind, Shelly who's still on Faerun, Baer who is at Nominal point in Thundercloud and Carnage on Center. We also still need to pickup Bree for Sarge and is there anyone else out there we still need to grab?" Roland asks the group before Appraising Ja_Hon then nods in welcome.  "We'll let you know as soon as we can Captain." Roland says as the Captain departs.


Roland will always cast at least one Purge other on Wren in the morning or at night.  Whichever one Sarge wants to split with.

Ja-Hon is slow to respond, trying to get his bearings on the situation. He knows that the universe needs him to be here at this time an place. He joined the crew, but has yet to get to know them. The one named "Sarge" addressed him, he contemplates his answer and replies. "Sarge, I will walk this path with you to the best of my ability. The universe is a vast place, to be lost in time and space would test the crew to their fullest, recovering them expediently would spare them from staring too long into that abyss."

Ja-Hon (1st Stage Promethean) stands 8ft tall, weighing in a almost 400 lbs. When in a casual setting he will dress in simple robes, shirt-optional. His body shows wear like old-granite, polished, worn down by wind. When he speaks to you, he often seems to be looking through you. During downtime, he is often found writing in a large book he carries chained to his belt.

Trip to Voria, Day 01

The Mechaniod Contingent understands that the targets that Matsumoto has designated is not to be attacked until Matsumoto says so or they are attacked.

The Mechaniod Contingent will be on standby mode until reactivated by Matsumoto or they are attacked.


The ship dives into FTL, coming out 24 hours later at a space station relay point for independent travelers. After the Captain of the ship makes way with resupplies and miscellaneous side cargo a fleet of Intruders drop into the system and begin wiping out everything in the area. The ship is able to jump out before shields fail.


When the Captain had to make the emergency jump out one of the space station workers was stuck on the bridge and is currently in the ships medical bay being treated for minor wounds and the shock of everything being destroyed.

Sarge offers healing to any wounded in the jump.. and spends the ship loosing the one attack action to sense for temporal anamolies... Intruders are bad news. at first he was walking around in his fatigues., but he tells the Sillhouettes to  be ready .. and armor up..and stay ready... during the 8 days on the ship he will tell Aramis to do his thing...that shadowman can find something crooked in a straight line.. so if he does he wants him to let him know..Sarge also takes a look around the ship .. just to see if he notices anything, in civilized space, the old skills come back online, and he doesnt rely on his powers, just observation and alot of years being a really bad man for money...

Matsumoto offers repair assistance to the Captain. The karakuri (spinsters) are superb technicians and specialize in repair and maintenance.

He also scans the ship to see if there are any outgoing signals that the invaders may be using to track us. He reviews the sensor footage to see of the invaders can be identified as a specific threat.

Roland will inspect the ship, see invisible, see aura Injured worker, mage senses following the attack, and also telepathy on the injured worker as we're getting him to the med bay just to read his surface thoughts immediately following the attack.  If he's frazzled, it'll tell us if he's really a dock worker or not.  If he's controlled and has his wits about him, it might mean he's hiding something.

He'll also offer healing for anyone who needs it.

Trip to Voria, Day 2

One of the soldiers working for the Spellgjamming Captain drops over dead near the crew. With the crews medical skills they attempted to perform emergency medical care for the downed member but it is all for naught, the crew member died of natural causes. Between the M.O.M. and Juicer Implants along with Yellowjacket Genetic Alteration the crew member just reached the end of their life cycle and died.

Trip to Voria, Day 03

The spelljamming ship comes across a minor swap meet gathering area for entry level smugglers. The survivor from the destroyed space station catches a ride with another ship.
A bunch of minor trading happens in the area (RUE Coalition Type Items) while the captain works the rumor ville.


This trade location is SDC HP creatures so they dont allow high powered creatures to board their ships.

The blastdoors open up to a compact 5 person flight deck, 2 smaller circular divots on the floor and 1 larger  circular divot in the middle of the deck. There is a robed figure floating in the middle of the larger divot. These divots are the interaction sections for the TW Jump Device.

GM Note: If it wasn't for the station anyone attempting to use this location to teleport would be torn asunder by the manic dimensional energies.
GM Note: A 4D item is being use to keep the Rift Stable, it was only detectable when it is being used to contain the Rift for use.

The Magic of the Sensor / Navigator Caster Plate expands Roland's senses 100x and across dimensions he feels his familiar emotions and see through her eyes.

He also attempts to see through Shelly's senses to see what kind of condition she's in/where she is.

Once inside of the church the insides are marked with several divine symbols. A blood covered alter with a recent sacrifice - a young virgin from the local children. The Symbol for Destruction glows brightest on the alter while the other symbols glow slightly. Looking at the symbols (The Crew is immune to Mental Affects of a lesser 4D nature) and know that the power calls to Roland and the crew, but they are immune to the compulsion like they are immune to the boons given to them when they cross over and assume the divine portfolios.

The Gateway opens

The Presence of Multiple Ja-Hon's with heavy weapons soothed the gathered crowds
Roland's charm helped gather the people efficiently.


The crowd gathers and forms up the best they can.
Sarge completes the casting of the spell and the gateway opens up, nearby the shimmering barrier of Caer Bolon can be seen nearby.



There are two layers to the Caer the outer layer is nothing more than a barren parking lot while the inner layer of the city is protected by a field similar to that of protection circle: superior, allowing only mortals to cross over but not causing supernaturals to flee looking at the barrier.

There are beings moving around the inner layer of the city, but it is murky and hard to pick up details.

The Radio Chatter is generic stuff one would hear with their radio turned on traveling 21 century earth.


Reviewing the people that was gathered the crew was able to transit 420 people away from the coastline. The rest were left behind and are unreachable now.

The city is obscure to Roland, he's hoping Shelly or one of the others knows more simply because taking them from the slavers and sending them to a city that's just as bad wouldn't sit real well with him....but time and resources are limited...and here is, at least for now, better than where they were.

The Religious Tome

Written in the Native Faerun Mystical Language the book describes the steps necessary to petition those beings attempting to gain divine status in the Faerun pantheon system for assistance in matters that only powerful divine beings can help with. These steps include how to determine which Divine Domains to petition for the problem at hand, the sacrifices necessary to call such a being, even the way to set up the church so these beings are drawn to the location.

This book is useful only in calling beings bound by the divine ascension rule set found in Faerun and would be little use in contacting beings in other Reality Shards.

This book uses the ancient way for non powered mortals to contact these divine beings so the bigger the ordeal the larger the sacrifice necessary to empower it.

Pg 88 of Dragons and Gods goes into more detail on how divine beings gain power and use it, this would be a Faerun bastardization of mortals accessing those Diefic Powers for their own desires.


Reading over the Tome takes 4 hours to get through all of the religious intonations to get to what actually is happening.

  • It floats in the air due to some supernatural means.
  • It has a beam of Anti Magic that emanates from its large main eye.
  • It's eye stalks can shoot beams of mystical energy that can damage things, from a jolt that scares children (1 S.D.C.) to a beam that demolishes body armor (6D6 M.D.C.).
  • The beams from the eye stalks also can be imbued with spells.
    • The eye stalks can combine their blast, up to 3 on one target.
    • The eye stalks can combine to cast higher level spells; 2 for up to level 6 spells, 3 for up to level 9 spell.
    • The older the Beholder the higher the level of spell that can be cast from a single eye stalk but it starts at level 3.
  • Magic Strength starts at 20.
  • It doesn't suffer from multiple opponent penalties.
  • It doesn't suffer from under direct fire rules.



In Combat it can:
  • Attack with 1 eye stalk vs 10 opponents at the same time on the same action.
  • Cast spells with 1 eye stalk vs 10 opponents at the same time.
  • Or any combo, max 3 per opponent, that it wants.

Before the team leaves the camp, Roland will attempt to summon a greater elemental.

He will also cast the healing spell for Wren.

Roland willingly gives PPE to the ghost every day, 12 or so per day I believe it says?  What sorts of skills does she have?  She is our friend after all...

As we are bound by the rules of Faerune, Roland will not be wearing his armor so as not to take the penalty on casting, just a normal travelling clothes with and Holocaust cloak.

Are we still in the HP/SDC conversion?

If we are, then Roland wears no armor, only his Holocaust Cloak and one of his Hartigal shield belts.

Shotgun, Long rifle, dual phase knives, shield (shelly carries it), and his Rune sword and talismans.

Shelly also is given the molokai blades (knives).

The Crew is M.D.C. if they are M.D.C. on Rifts Earth, the S.D.C. / H.P. conversion was only when the crew was on the Shifter Dimension.

The Beautiful Ghost consumes I.S.P.
She has no applicable skill set.

See Invisible: There are hundreds of Entities in and around the dig site.
Sense D Spells / T Spells: There are dozens of spells activating within sensing range but no clear reason why or by whom.
Sense Rifts: There are dozens of rifts opening and closing in the dig site.

There is a poisonous gas in the air (non lethal, hallucinogenic).

There are radio signals within range, they are automated musical / drama broadcasts emanating from radio stations somewhere in the city. Nothing has been detected that is connected to a government, corporation, or military.


Traveling for 2 hours the crew comes across the mile wide crack in the ground that is Chardalyn Region 11, inside of this crack is the ruins of city that was built up around this unnatural earthen formation. The team finds themselves on the ruins of a bridge across the crack and down into the city, the bridge is only usable as a reference point for navigating.

Here the crew comes across pictures of warning about a local hazard that should be reported to the authorities immediately, the aberration known as the Beholder. As the city has been long abandoned by any significant governmental presence there is no one to report the sighting too.


There is an crashed star fighter 300 ft down into the dig site. It is over a year old and there is no sign of the pilot.

Sarge drops down to a lower level to begin the search for the Beholder, his crew touching down moment later. The Shadow Beast merge into the shadows and dissapear, only detectable by Shadow Sense.

Roland drifts down to the lower level with Shelly at his side. The Beautiful Ghost, following the bearer of her fetter, touches down in the real world near the group, her form taking a corporeal presence away from the other entities.

Ja'hon steps through reality and joins the team.

Taking some time to track down one of the closer radio signals they find it emanating from an old corporate security tower that has be knocked down and repaired multiple times since the fall of the dig site. A T.W. self charging power source is attached to the simplistic transmission terminal repeating the same basic message about the hazards of the location over and over again. With the T.W. devices capabilities as long as it doesn't suffer a direct strike by the massive maelstroms that tend to erupt in the Endless Wastes it should last forever.

The crew finds nothing of note at the Corporate Security tower and move on searching for the Beholder.

"This place seems like a security building..hmm lets look around for an Armory.. many hands light work. this will be Zero point. the place we meet back up in if we get separated, ported, whatever.. or radios can hear the broadcast and our senses can pick up the  signature .. so as a group we look around .. see if we can find a building schematic whatever .. floor by floor, whatever .. now.. we are not going to give this op more than 3 days.. we all have Sustain on, but we will still need rest..so lets take a look see, then move on to find Target Prime.. defenses first on contact..

Skill Use

Intelligence:
Information found in the security towers remaining files reveal mining practices and corporate oversight similar to Austin Nevada circa 1863. No need to go into specifics this is just the flavor text of what is found for the records found. Important records were kept on paper that was treated with a variation of the ironwood spell turning the papers into 1 M.D.C. neigh indestructible perma copies, a weird development for a super magic society.
  • Building layouts would be familiar to those born in the 20th Rifts Earth Century.
  • The buildings are comprised of a very early hi capacity material (M.D.C. but not double digits).
  • Language & Literacy: Faerun is similar to Trade Six. A character with Trade Six, after a week of study (10 hour days), would gain for free Faerun at the base level. A character with Faerun can do the same to gain Trade Six.
  • The territory that dig site falls belongs to is named Imaskar. The newspapers left behind in the ruins talk about how the Council of Seven were attempting to deal with the blight brought over from D-Bee interlopers.
  • The papers talk of the Council of Seven debating breaking the ban of Necromancy to compete with the production capabilities of the neighboring country of Thay. So far a majority couldn't be made so the ban remains(The split was: no necromancy, necromancy on only illegals, necromancy on all bodies). The arguments posted would be typical for those pushing their agenda.
  • House Ilphemon, one of the seven and most that deal with military and diplomatic encroachments by Thay, show off the specs of their new staves and wands.
  • The dig site security tower is set up similar to modern cop precincts, but with racks for staves and wands all areas searched by the team were empty.
  • There are no samples of the currency but there are picture representations showing the fantasy trope standard of copper silver and gold for those needing help paying bail.


So far the only things that stands out on sensor scans are is the presence of the non lethal gas.

The team searches for 2 more hours in an attempt to find sign of the Beholder but with no avail, only ruined buildings and eroding infrastructure remain. Gathering themselves they make their preparations to drop down to level -02.

  • The Beautiful Ghost applauds the groups pantomime of the battle for Shinra Station, the reference means nothing to the group because she is a ghost speaking nonsensical fragments from her previous life.

  • The Shadeling floats near Sarge.
  • All Summoned Shadow Beast have been killed.

The Rune Items on the Duergar are Diabolic Evil and will only work for someone that survives the rune item bonding process. When touched the character hears the eternal tortured screams of the spirit bound inside of the item. This torture process to the spirit inside was done on purpose. That is all that will be found out above the items without using them.

The Flickering of the Rifts that are forming near the crew are in line with the will of Ao and the Rules set up by the dimensional shard they all reside in. For the purposes of the 4D games meta ruleset a dimensional shard is a unique 4D construct set up to do something and contains an entire megaversal widget all to itself. Finding and entering these Shards are extremely hard for normies.


Shelly guides the team out of the city pit and back to the ship with a combination of skill and generally pleasing countenance, when it became problematic with the closeness of the Entities the Beautiful Ghost broke free of her succor and helped out. Outside of the cityscape it is a straight shot to the ship with a general feeling of Divine Impending Doom hounding the teams trail. Stepping aboard the ship the team feels the impending divine doom dissipate. With that presence gone the team is reinvigorated by a short rest and Roland has recovered to 1 M.D.C. regeneration of super power juice and body damage begins as normal from this point onward.

Note: During the 'Escape' to the ship the crew was under the Shard Rules related to overlapping domains needing to be resolved so the transition of time became meaningless.

The team accounts for the dead and the wounded then decides to what to do next.

You guys are an awesome team!" he says with a wry smile nodding to everyone.  Then he sighs.  "I'm going to have to come up with some tactics.  That dude had a hard on for me. Anyway, glad you all are in one piece..."Roland tails off after seeing the downed team mate.  "I can probably do something about that if you want?   He shrugs and turns to sarge as he poses the question.  "Otherwise, your turn. The PDA

On the surface the P.D.A. is a P.S.E. 7000 + P.S.E. 7500 + P.S.E. 8500 all in one (Pg 104 Three Galaxies describes the P.S.E.). The P.D.A. has 1 of all the applicable modules installed at double the normal range. Psychic scans by non mechaniods reveal the connection to the A.B.M. The Spell Breath of Life

The magics' course through Porthos's body but the skeletal hand of Kelemvor, Faerun God of the dead prevents the completions of the spell.
Elemental beings can't be brought back buy lessor spells.
The proper tithe was not made.

Kelemvor briefly states [Language unknown: "Artus ithe ur san e thotheion ck st te ent comatithieve it tiowerpro a aint somainons. Witwe al e ershissan oselhi fi inpl n listr Ouholl Comtedhat omwil ourdinthi tha, vennc eveareeraast er evell llceil ar korrom'ingsan."] as the spell fades.

The group knows that the scroll created by Miracle is considered the Faerun Miracle spell when the scroll is read off a party member, not their minion, to have the God deal with the other God.


To bring back Porthos:
  • Use a scroll with a spell that has Resurrect in the name provided by a god.
  • Use a player cast spell with Resurrect in the name and pay 25 million monies.
  • Goto the Fugue Plane, take Porthos soul out of Faerun, cast spells outside of Faerun with normal results.



To use the Ley Line Resurrection Spell the spell still must be cast upon a Ley Line.

Roland leans back after the message is sent then looks at Sarge and sighs heavily.  "Sorry Sarge, looks like we're going to have to do it the hard way and use your scroll.  Any insight you can give us about this plane through your knowledge and experience before I go to have a talk with Shelly to see if she can help me learn more about this plane before I piss off another god?" 


Roland will be physically healed within an hour.  He used 190ppe in the fight and trying to heal Sarge's pack mate.

That leaves him with 470ppe.

Taking stock of his belongings he learns all of his scrolls and talismans were destroyed in the fight.  Only his TW equipment still functions.

"Matsumoto, what do you make of that pda you're studying?  Anything useful to us like, what gods here hold what abilities?  Specifically the ones related to us since we're new here?"

After the 24 hours of rest the magic items that were turned off via Dispel Magic are now active. The search has taken 6 hours.


2000 miles to the east of the landing site the crew finds the tip of a Obelisk that is the local equivalent of a Stone Pyramid. The caretaker of the site is a Spellweaver and it allows the crew to perform their magics more out of curiosity of how the teams magics work.
  • The Spellweaver is carrying a 4D item, it is a brick that mimics the material of the Obelisk. The Brick works without the Obelisk but the Obelisk doesn't work without the brick.
  • The Spellweaver is a item bearer not a 4D agent.
  • The Spellweaver is aware that the team is connected to 4D events but not in what fashion.
  • The Spellweaver is unable to comprehend the 4D war, 4D agents, or 4D agenda.

The Spell is cast

Over the spot where the scroll was invoked a micro crack in reality is formed. Known within the circles of those that travel between the worlds on the regular as a "Fracture" it is an indication of the undoing of a segment of reality, an unmaking which erases all connected to that realm.

If one knew the magics needed to collect the sparkling bits of reality that tumble from the event horizon of the micro rift they could make a fortune. 1 gram is worth 20 Billion monies.

Failing magical attempts to mess with these microrifts are deadly.

Note:
Fractures are 4D events that are greater than Solidarity Station.
The first attempt to mess with the Fracture causes 1000 M.D.C. damage that is un-heal-able.

Porthos is harrowed from his ordeal, only time can heal those mental wounds.
The crew returns to the shuttle bidding farewell to the spellweaver. It curiously looks on as the party flies away then gets to work isolating the Fracture point with powerful magic and technological defenses.

It takes an hour to return to where the Spelljammer ship is parked.

/ooc for the talismans, were they completely destroyed or was only the magic destroyed so we might re-use the same trinkets to make new talismans?

As long as Roland is able cast an elemental spell to summon a phantom, he can offer Sarge a fairly renewable ppe source of 450 ppe every minute or so(450 is 70% of his max).

Using the 4th level spell Phantom, Roland can siphon 70% of the phantom's magic to himself.  It takes 12 casts, effectively 45-60 seconds, considering, cast, siphon, thank the elemental and then dismiss the spell) to refill his ppe.

In the mean time, Roland busies himself with the Training and care of Wren.

Ok, for crafting etc...

If Roland is able to summon the elementals and share in their ppe as described, and Sarge has the spell energy sphere to hold all the ppe (Unless there would be another way to do it?), within an hour everything could be done.  If any of the otherse, Here's looking at you Matsumoto and Ja'hon, then it will take just a little longer.  If he cannot share in their ppe as he has before entering this dimension, then it will take longer.  We won't know until we try.  So, roland would start slow with one elemental (Level 4 spell PHantom), thank it for it's time and energy, then dismiss it (Using the spell, not the summons ability).

With as much skill as luck the crew reaches the boarders of the Spire within the first day of travel.  The fog falls away at 100 Km from the Ivory Spire, sensor systems lose count of the myriad of vessels on the ground and in the air moving around the clear sky made by the Essence of the Spire. Moments after clearing the fog small paper writs manifest in front of the mortals on the ship, giving them clearance to leave the dimension without being torn apart. Those writs will take (2D4) days to show for the P.C.'s.

If there is an item with a price in a rifts book it is for sale at +25% book price.
Items from the Three Galaxies are also *10 listed price.
NPC services prices (i.e.: hookers, bodyguards, information) can be found in the Blackmarket book and the Northern Gun books.

The protective zone inside of the spire is at Altess technological expertise and Stormspire level of Mystical accessibility. If you chose to just sit out your time waiting for the writ to manifest then nothing will happen.

The Primordial Chaos
The Promordial Chaos is a dimension in the megaversal cosmology located at the far reaches of the elemental planes where the elements dissolved into a single mix of colliding energies. It is the fundamental plane within which were contained all of the former elemental planes and energy planes, as well as crossover points to other esoteric shards.

A tempestuous sea of ever-changing terrain and clashing elements, with stability only enforced in isolated locations, the Primordial Chaos is rumored to be ruled over, at least in name if not fact, by the sleeping Primals and is the opposite of it's megaversal counterpart the Sea of Souls.

In spite of its chaotic and dangerous landscape, most parts of the Primordial Chaos is relatively easy to travel through, or at least as much as most other planes.

"In the event we traverse the elemental planes toward the Primordial, I've gathered info on the planes.  Additionally, I've arranged for my missing teammates to be recovered and brought here to spire.  I expect them here in about a week or so barring any problems. The information of each plane also contains a neutral settlement site for a shifter to make a safe teleport to..."


Elemental Plane: Air
The Elemental Plane of Air was filled essentially completely with air but had various impurities that tended to form pockets or bubbles in the otherwise pure atmosphere. Gaseous bubbles included clouds of every type, fog, steam, mist, smoke, poisonous clouds and acidic vapors; also the rare intrusion of elemental fire which is flame without fuel. Liquid impurities were usually water or water-based and tended to form floating spheres when not buffeted or frozen by the winds. Solid matter could be found here, from dust, ash, salt, or sand, to chunks of earth approaching the size of a large asteroid. The larger chunks were often brought into the plane by intelligent beings and were very likely to be inhabited or formerly inhabited. As described by the Great Wheel model, a traveler with a guide could approach the boundaries with the para- and quasi-elemental planes: where the whiff of smoke eventually became hot, thick, and choking, or the tang of ozone soon lead to heavy storms with arcs of lightning in all directions, or the temperature dropped until flakes of snow, crystals of ice, and lumps of hail finally became a wall of ice, or the light faded to gray and the air thinned out until there was nothing.

Elemental Plane: Earth
The Elemental Plane of Earth was an infinite expanse of solid matter pockmarked by bubbles of other elements and riddled with fissures and tunnels created by burrowing creatures or the occasional small mining operation. Ensconced in a few of these pockets were trading outposts and the rare hidden wizard fortress.[18] Solid does not imply stationary: the substances of this plane were constantly moving in a slow, grinding motion punctuated by earthquakes from small tremors to massively violent upheavals. Open spaces were gradually filled by the relentless shifting (or marauding earth elementals) unless action was taken to prevent it. Air could be found in scattered pockets but unbreathable gasses were also present—unprepared travelers lucky enough to arrive in a cavern might slowly asphyxiate while the unlucky quickly suffocated by being buried alive. Other pockets of magma, water, ooze, dust, or ash were particularly dangerous for miners if they accidentally breached one of these. No light existed in the Plane of Earth except for rare luminous gems buried in the crushing darkness. Travelers able to pass through stone were effectively blind unless they used magic such as a ring of x-ray vision, or until their eyes reached an open space where night vision could operate or a source of light could be produced. Hearing was actually enhanced while encased in earth, to the point where travelers could detect any movement through the rock within a certain radius of their position.

Elemental Plane: Fire
Arriving on the Plane of Fire was like stepping into the flaming maw of an ancient red dragon; if one didn't have protection or immunity from temperatures high enough to melt stone then death was swift. The following discussion assumes a visitor and all their clothing and gear had this capability and either did not need to breathe or could compensate for a superheated, often toxic atmosphere that could immolate one from the inside. In general, the more fluid the elemental fire, the hotter it was and the more damage it did to unprotected material. Unlike the other three elemental planes, the Plane of Fire had normal gravity and a landscape, although most of the "ground" was made primarily of loosely packed elemental fire and felt like walking in a swamp of hot coals. The rivers and oceans were filled with a more liquid version of the same stuff and swimming worked normally as a mode of transportation. Non-native flying creatures found the atmosphere thin and therefore did not have their usual speed or maneuverability. Visibility was hampered by the smoke coming off the flames engulfing, but not consuming, nearly every solid, liquid, or gas (and creature) on the plane. What one could see was usually distorted by heat ripples. Geographic features such as hills, mountains, and cliffs did not have a geologic lifespan because even the more solid areas slowly moved like a subterranean magma flow as seen on the Prime Material Plane. Permanent physical structures were very rare.

Elemental Plane: Water
There was no deep or shallow, no dark depths nor wavy surface, just an endless ocean that felt as if you were submerged several feet (say a couple meters) in any body of water on the Prime Material Plane. There was no sun, yet the water itself seemed to glow dimly with a bluish green luminescence. Volumes of water at any temperature and salinity could be found if you knew where to look or had a guide. The Great Wheel cosmology model explained this by the proximity to the para- and quasi-elemental planes: water became cold and formed icebergs as you neared the Plane of Ice; water became brackish as you approached the Plane of Salt; water became silty and slimy as you neared the Plane of Ooze; water started to boil as you approached the Plane of Steam. The World Tree cosmology described this plane as having all varieties of water constantly in motion, influenced by currents and tides. Life that depended on particular conditions flowed along with their preferred environment or suffered the consequences. Impurities such as bubbles of air, chunks of earth, and even short-lived balls of fire could be found floating about due to elemental vortices or the workings of powerful beings. Habitats and settlements typically formed near sources of food and shelter, or near portals and vortices to facilitate trade.

Going to Discord is a one way trip and no information gets out. The location looks like an idyllic location filled with floating tropical jungles. Portal have never opened up to any sign of civilization.

Just needs supplies.  I just don't know how much material it takes to make more rounds, it's never been quantified.).

Gateway to the Primordial Chaos

The portal that formes is the cleanest you have experienced, as natural as an eye opening. No rough dimensional tearing, no extraneous energy splashes, just a yawning in reality.

The hellscape of nothingness and everything on the other side is a bit daunting to deal with. One of the Battle cruisers turn around and goes the other way.
(The team will find out that this is the 18 attempt by that battle cruiser crew to try and enter the portal)


The following rolls will be required for Dimensional travel:

Roland will make his rounds to everyone, including Sarge. 
(/ooc based on the chart).  Roland will hand them out or leave the equipment by their respective sleeping areas.


"Sarge,  Wren's disease we cannot heal without Divine intervention as it's beyond our abilities to otherwise heal.  Garra was actively cursed through a divine call and cannot be healed by any means other than bed rest.  Attempting any healing, due to the nature of the curse, not only hurts her further but also damages the healer however much she would have been healed.  I'm not a priest so I sought answers with the clergy of the Patron of my Order.  They pointed me right back to you.  According to them, you are the highest ranking priest of the most powerful god in the Temple of Light that anyone at the spire knows of.  We need all the help we can get if we are going to survive and figure out how to save Solidarity station and keep the universe from imploding, or whatever is going to happen.  They are also important to me and, with Wren, I think at least, to you a little.  I asked you once before, if you'd use your abilities to heal them.  You said you'd think about it.  I'm asking again if you would.  If you are not willing to do so, then it means that I will have to figure something else out."

The Spelljamming mage can teleport the crew down to the battlezone, limited to 10 people.
Sarge may utilize whichever teleportation options his powers allow.
The Crew may attempt to pilot their shuttle down if they want.

The crew lands in the middle of a Anti-Ley Line Triangle, pg 208 of the new Atlantis book describes what an anti ley line is.


The smell of Ozone and charred flesh fill your senses.
The air is thick with heat and humidity.

This isn't a warzone, this is a hunting ground. No lines of safety just bits of territory carved out by whomever is stronger.

The echo of the religious chanting from the devout to Jeb son of Job make this hunk of reality solidly in their favor. This explains why defensive towers are able to function up to 1 mile out of the chunk of turf.

The team lands in an long abandoned free clinic, stripped of supplies and splattered with the gore of the folk trying to hold out and help out. Callousness won out in the time of despair and these medical care workers paid the price.

Sarge has a general sense of where to go, a 'That way' kind of feeling.

The Radios are filled with the Religious chatter of Jeb son of Job.
The local surveillance / public announcement speakers are filled of imagery of Jeb son of Job sermons.
The holo projections are of Jeb son of Job iconography.

Negative Snowflake - Hour 3

Sarge locks onto his feeling of where Bree is at, guiding his way through the battlefields and debris, along the way only garbage and gore has been found. Rounding a corner of a recently leveled set of buildings the team comes across a transport evacuating a gathering of people being swarmed by a random assortment of supernatural predators. With a pop to reality the transport jumps away leaving a void for the primordial chaos to rush in. This energy clashes against the divine sanctuary the religious intonations of the worshippers of Jeb son of Job are attempting to establish. The detonation of energies would have killed other beings, but the teams attachment to a 4D patron prevents them from being erased (other beings like animals and supernatural predators in view of the team were erased from reality). With the erasure of the creatures housing the populace the once ruined government building that was the main point of contentions is reformed to new, or newish before the attack began. The Building says [Language unknown: "Ntenceing Fifonomiut onthe Ouhi-ilommo Koraverat"]. Bree's trail lays deeper into the frakus.

Ja'Hon recognizes the transport, it belongs to the group "Eclipse Margins" who was pivotal to rescue scenarios that were deemed lost causes during the war on Center. Promethean Scuttlebutt also has it that they are the reason why Center still is in the hands of the Promethean Elders.


Group Rolls:

    • The Player Characters are immune to lesser 4D effects, the minions are not.

  • The people at the pill box are all high level, high ppe, high isp, no aberrations, they have various levels of wounds

The spell is cast with no complications.


The crew's travels through the cities firing lines and defensive patrols to reach a small piecemeal pillbox overlooking a gathering of small recon vehicles, these vehicles are not from the golden age of mankind. The people bunkered down in the area are a mixture of D-Bee from across the Three Galaxies from a variety of known and unknown governments.

Sarge finds Bree sitting with a group of wounded individuals playing a game  of Dabo while singing raunchy bar songs.

She passes her frosted Root Beer over to one of the other players and walks over to Sarge. Her expression conveys relief that everyone appears to be in one piece. Bree's eyes portray confusion that the team has not been drawn to the Corrupted Allamaraine entrance deeper in the city, but then her body language changes, she remembers that the crew is powerful supernaturals with a 4D patron so other effects would be ineffective against them. She waves goodbye to the gathered people and joins up on Sarge's side.

The team, when they decide to leave, will need to meet the spelljammer ship somewhere since the crew can't lock back on to the ship and teleport there. When the crew decides to go they will need to designate a location for the spelljammer to meet them at when you finally decide to leave.

Sarge enacts the hour ritual that will teleport them home.. and spends the 500 ppe that it takes to dimensionally portal them back to Davros and then have the Spelljammer meet us there with the rest of the crew and the shuttle.

Back to Davros

The portal opens to the Davros IV crossroads 3 miles from Neo Raider City and the standard radio chatter from before blaring over the open waves. The crew exist the Primordial Chaos with no lingering issues. Near the crossroads a local Rhino Buffalo herder is tending to his flock when the crew arrives. The Rhino Buffalos briefly react to the open doorway but go back to eating the nearby flora.

It is a calm day on Davros IV.

The message left with the Captain of the Spelljamming ship was to meet at Neo Raider City since it was the easiest place to get but the crew will have to wait 8 days until the ship can make it to Davros IV, but if the crew wants they can head out to Duskwater on their own. Duskwater is 18,119 miles away from Neo Raider City.


  1. The crew can just camp out until the spelljammer shows up. 5D12 each die rolled separately twice a day while at the campsite.
  2. There is no roll to make it to the gates of Neo Raider City. It is 1000 a person a day to stay. 5D12 each die rolled separately each day while waiting at the city.
  3. The crew can hire transport to Duskwater 5D12 each die rolled separately to before talking to a possible pilot.
