The Religious Tome
Written in the Native Faerun Mystical Language the book describes the steps necessary to petition those beings attempting to gain divine status in the Faerun pantheon system for assistance in matters that only powerful divine beings can help with. These steps include how to determine which Divine Domains to petition for the problem at hand, the sacrifices necessary to call such a being, even the way to set up the church so these beings are drawn to the location.

This book is useful only in calling beings bound by the divine ascension rule set found in Faerun and would be little use in contacting beings in other Reality Shards.

This book uses the ancient way for non powered mortals to contact these divine beings so the bigger the ordeal the larger the sacrifice necessary to empower it.

Pg 88 of Dragons and Gods goes into more detail on how divine beings gain power and use it, this would be a Faerun bastardization of mortals accessing those Diefic Powers for their own desires.


Reading over the Tome takes 4 hours to get through all of the religious intonations to get to what actually is happening.

To the group.  "We have five days of downtime.  We know of a city of ghosts not far from here, also that beholder creature that the signs were warning of in the crevasse about a day from here back toward the old gas station we came through our first time here.  Or we can just wait."

After we get Bree I still have two people in the wind if we can at all rescue them. I was just tryingto think of things we can do while we wait for the ships engines to recharge."

The Beholder
  • It floats in the air due to some supernatural means.
  • It has a beam of Anti Magic that emanates from its large main eye.
  • It's eye stalks can shoot beams of mystical energy that can damage things, from a jolt that scares children (1 S.D.C.) to a beam that demolishes body armor (6D6 M.D.C.).
  • The beams from the eye stalks also can be imbued with spells.
    • The eye stalks can combine their blast, up to 3 on one target.
    • The eye stalks can combine to cast higher level spells; 2 for up to level 6 spells, 3 for up to level 9 spell.
    • The older the Beholder the higher the level of spell that can be cast from a single eye stalk but it starts at level 3.
  • Magic Strength starts at 20.
  • It doesn't suffer from multiple opponent penalties.
  • It doesn't suffer from under direct fire rules.



In Combat it can:
  • Attack with 1 eye stalk vs 10 opponents at the same time on the same action.
  • Cast spells with 1 eye stalk vs 10 opponents at the same time.
  • Or any combo, max 3 per opponent, that it wants.
  • Has anywhere from 5 to 8 attacks per round.

Before the team leaves the camp, Roland will attempt to summon a greater elemental.

He will also cast the healing spell for Wren.

Roland willingly gives PPE to the ghost every day, 12 or so per day I believe it says?  What sorts of skills does she have?  She is our friend after all...

As we are bound by the rules of Faerune, Roland will not be wearing his armor so as not to take the penalty on casting, just a normal travelling clothes with and Holocaust cloak.

Are we still in the HP/SDC conversion?

If we are, then Roland wears no armor, only his Holocaust Cloak and one of his Hartigal shield belts.

Shotgun, Long rifle, dual phase knives, shield (shelly carries it), and his Rune sword and talismans.

Shelly also is given the molokai blades (knives).

The Crew is M.D.C. if they are M.D.C. on Rifts Earth, the S.D.C. / H.P. conversion was only when the crew was on the Shifter Dimension.

The Beautiful Ghost consumes I.S.P.
She has no applicable skill set.

See Invisible: There are hundreds of Entities in and around the dig site.
Sense D Spells / T Spells: There are dozens of spells activating within sensing range but no clear reason why or by whom.
Sense Rifts: There are dozens of rifts opening and closing in the dig site.

There is a poisonous gas in the air (non lethal, hallucinogenic).

There are radio signals within range, they are automated musical / drama broadcasts emanating from radio stations somewhere in the city. Nothing has been detected that is connected to a government, corporation, or military.


Traveling for 2 hours the crew comes across the mile wide crack in the ground that is Chardalyn Region 11, inside of this crack is the ruins of city that was built up around this unnatural earthen formation. The team finds themselves on the ruins of a bridge across the crack and down into the city, the bridge is only usable as a reference point for navigating.

Here the crew comes across pictures of warning about a local hazard that should be reported to the authorities immediately, the aberration known as the Beholder. As the city has been long abandoned by any significant governmental presence there is no one to report the sighting too.


There is an crashed star fighter 300 ft down into the dig site. It is over a year old and there is no sign of the pilot.
