Re: To the Moathouse

Seeing the spider is dead, Velox looks about for more enemies or for any sign of former prey. His mind is racing with thoughts of the poor Aspirant...

OOC: 08:56, Today: Velox rolled 14 using 1d20.  Spot.

Apparently way more focused after the brief combat, Albrecht looks around as well. "That went better than expected," he admitted.

10:06, Today: Albrecht Delmorn rolled 25 using 1d20+5.  Spot.

Re: To the Moathouse

While searching you find amidst the rubbish 71 cp and 38 sp, and an ivory box about the size of a large book.

You do not find evidence of the Aspirant. If she perished it was not by the Spider you think but something else.

Albrecht will attempt to open the box, assuming it has a lid of some sort.

You open the lid but there appears to be nothing inside. Still the ivory box is ornate, it probably has some value.

In reply to DM (msg # 167):

While Albrecht examines the box, Velox looks about the area trying to figure out where they should head next.

OOC: any additional details avout the area?

"I wish this box had a lock, or perhaps if I had one, I could store our community gold in it. Oh well. When we get back to town, we can try to find its owner, or sell it if we can't," he commented, slipping the box and the coins into his pack with the rest of their gold. He joined Velox looking around the rest of the room.

Re: To the Moathouse

The tower is in ruins, the upper floors collapsed long ago. If there was an egress from here to the rest of the moathouse other than the door you just took it has long been covered in rubble.

This might make a nice place to hide out and rest if you can't get out of the moathouse entirely. After all if the bandits are here they probably know about the spider or they'd have used this spot to watch folks coming up the path you took. As such they probably wouldn't look for intruders here.

"Shall we continue? I was stung, but not badly, and the venom was ineffective thankfully," he asked the others, informing them about his injury.

Velox nods, "Yes we should carry on. Would you care for a healing touch? I can help you now far more easily than I can should you be stung a few more times."

"It's up to you, but I suppose we might as well go ahead and do it. There's no point risking further injuries when you can heal me now," Albrecht responded before continuing to look about the moathouse once the healing was taken care of.

Velox nodded in agreement and prayed briefly. A second later a wash of bright energy emerged as he touched Albrecht and the man was healed.

"We should move on now." He said as he pushed forward

OOC: That should be good. Let's keep on keeping on!
20:00, Today: Velox rolled 9 using 1d8+2.  CLW.

Re: To the Moathouse

It's the only direction you see that you could go.

I'll update more when I get home or tomorrow, stuck at work this morning can't really check the map but pretty sure other than going back over the drawbridge and circling the ruins it's the only way in from this vantage :)

Re: To the Moathouse

This staircase leads to the house portion of the fortress. A careful examination of these steps reveals that some traffic (human, animal, and perhaps otherwise) comes this way. The doors at the head of the stairs are broken—one flat on the floor, the other sundered.

Albrecht turns to the others, and in hushed tones he asks them, "Are any of you skilled as stealth? There might be bandits in there." If he had to, he would try, but he wasn't the best at it.

Re: To the Moathouse

Elmo nods and moves through the doorway with his axe ready at hand and moving all about. After a brief moment he motions you into the once great hall. This was once a great audience chamber, as shown by the tattered banners and tapestries on the walls, destroyed furniture, and heaps of rotting cloth thrown into corners. Once richly appointed, it has been thoroughly searched, sacked, and despoiled. Leaves and dirt cover the floor, and cobwebs hang from walls and the ceiling above. Looking up, you see that pieces of beams and chunks of stone poke through, indicating that the upper stories of the place are totally destroyed and likely to be impassable to anything larger than a rat. In the middle of the western wall and southern wall are hallways, there is a door in the NE corner of the north wall.

Elmo staying quiet points to the three directions that you can go as if asking which way he should go first. He seems to have sobered up in a hurry, perhaps he isn't the town drunk folks think he is.
