Version 1.6.50

Minor:
  • Converted the stickylist script to PHP.
  • Added automatic scrollbar to stickylist when it's needed.
  • Blocked a small plethora of disposable email services.  Whilst these are great services they are just too prone to misuse.
  • Fixed rMail link on the main menu not being red when there is new rMail.
  • Removed more ways for GMs to (incorrectly) give a standard player a character labelled as a GM.
  • Fixed incorrect game information being displayed from game searches.
  • Using the [quote] or [reply] links in a private thread no longer loses the recipients.
  • Added some basic email and password guidance to the signup page.
  • Prettied up internal links to game (still not as nice as before, but it's the best we can do).
  • Fixed a security flaw which would allow a user to post to the wrong group.
  • Fixed a coding bug that would allow a user to post to a forum they were banned in (by manipulating the URL).
  • Added the FrameWerk system to the dice roller.
  • Added the Full Light, Full Steam system to the dice roller.
  • Fixed, added and enhanced some site moderation routines.
  • Fixed terms of use link on the login screen.

Please post any problems with the new version to this thread or via rMail.

Re: Version 1.6.50

I've noticed that while using the stickylist, the "refresh" checkbox and time to wait pull down both reset to their default values after one interval.

I'm using Firefox 3.0, Windows XP, in case it makes any difference.

Ah, seems someone beat me to asking about that exact issue.

Re: Version 1.6.50

I'm also using Firefox 3.0 and Windows XP, and mine isn't doing that, so it isn't the browser itself.

Re: Version 1.6.50

Mine's doing it too.  Same browser, but installed on Vista.

I'm checking Opera and Flock to see if it happens there too.  I'll edit this if those do it too.

edit: Fifteen minutes later, and all three of Firefox, Flock and Opera's pop up sticky lists reverted back to the default settings.

Re: Version 1.6.50

Please try now.

I'm not quite sure why PHP didn't like the url before, but it seems to be better now.

(I also fixed the alphabetical sorting while I was there.)

Re: Version 1.6.50

I use IE 6.0.whatever on both XP Pro, XP Media, & Vista. What I have noticed is that, before the latest update, everytime I went to the main page, whether thru clicking a link or hitting the "Back" button, it would refresh the page. Since the update, however, when I go "Back" (which is my primary method of navigation), it does not. Not sure if this is a bug or not, but thought I might mention it. Thank you.

Re: Version 1.6.50

Same with me, and I didn't even notice til you pointed it out!

Personally, I preferred when it refreshed, but if that can't be changed, it's no biggie.  I hit f5 a lot anyway.

Re: Version 1.6.50

I saw it come in with the last version.  It's consistent with the way that other browsers behave, and it probably reduces the server load (it's not as if all of those refreshes are needed).

Re: Version 1.6.50

A couple of hours ago I didn't have any "Preview" and "Post Message" -buttons on the compose-page. Had worked before, and works again. Any changes made in the meantime or a local error on my computer?

Re: Version 1.6.50

No changes made, as far as I know, so likely some glitch in your connection.

Re: Version 1.6.50

I just noticed one thing. As I've understood it, RPoL takes the computer's time zone and displays posting times and dates based automatically on that. Interesting bit is, at least where I'm at, the timestamps do not match my local time. Does anyone else have a problem with that, or is it just a glitch on my end?

Weird, to me, the site's clock is three hours behind.

Re: Version 1.6.50

The obvious question: have you checked that the Time Zone (not just the clock) on your machine is set right?  Since the time stamps on RPoL get all their information from that, that should be the first place to look.

Re: Version 1.6.50

I'll just have to do what I've been postponing for a month or so. I need to get my pute formatted and a new OS installed. Super cure for everything...

And no, the time zone is there. If it's a javascript feature, I've had other bugs on RPoL and some other sites with javascript features.

*sigh*

Re: Version 1.6.50

It's not javascript.  Your browser tells RPoL what timezone your computer is in and times are adjusted for your display according to what your browser is telling RPoL based on what timezone your OS believes it's in.

Re: Version 1.6.50

hey I'm on my wii (which uses opera) and when I hit B+up (refresh) on the main page, the search for games box opens up.
Doesn't do anything different, but it just opens itself.  Thought you might like to know.

EDIT: does same thing when I press on screen refresh button, but not any other way I can think of to load the page. (like the amazing rpol logo button)
