Yes. The person doing the coding will select what they see as the best fit, so a rogue might be a warrior, or a female might be a male. Sometimes you just need to do a bit of a search to find it.

Re: Portrait Submission

I appreciate the flood of responses.

I searched through each of the categories twice just to be sure. Perhaps I'm simply blind, but I don't see it. Here's a link to what I'm using now, keeping in mind that what I had sent in was a headshot.

Re: Portrait Submission

I don't see that portrait going back to uploads from October of 2019.

Maybe it got filtered because it's too much of a body shot and not face? Normally we just crop those pretty tight and they end up looking kind of like garbage, but Morgan can speak more to that. But yeah, I don't see anything like that going back like a year. As far as what I've uploaded, I mean.

Yeah, it's not one I remember seeing, either. I also just checked the inbox and don't see an email from you or any emails including that image, just FYI.

Re: Portrait Submission

Is there any way to confirm that a submission has been received and is in the process somewhere? I recall that the last time I sent in a portrait it got lost in the shuffle and I'm a little worried about this one.

Re: Portrait Submission

You can ask here and we can have a look to see if it's getting processed. You'll see examples of this above in this very thread going back a fairly long way.

Re: Portrait Submission

Warrax seems to be encountering some difficulty getting the most recent batch of submissions uploaded. We'll be sure to let you know here with an update once they've made it to the gallery.

Re: Portrait Submission

Our process is a little longer than it used to be; I apologize for the delay, and will update everyone when the latest round have made it in where they should be. For those of you waiting, I've got 27 portraits queued for upload, so if you've been waiting a while and are wondering... odds are, it's waiting to go up, so just hang tight and we'll keep you posted.

Re: Portrait Submission

We're having some troubles with the process post-server move, so we're a little back-logged at the moment.  We're building up a backlog so that when the uploads are good to go, we'll be able to plough through them. Submissions are continuing as normal because we can do all the prep work in the meantime.

Re: Portrait Submission

November and December are up. There's a problem in the Male Rugged section with a ghost portrait which will be resolved when we are able to get the January and February portraits up.

Can we get a list of what categories were added to?  I made a submission, but it's not where I expected it to go and I'm not up for searching every single category...

Re: Portrait Submission

With apologies to everyone who got excited at seeing this thread ping red, a question about the dreaded tags: I see portraits are going up without them, but will any submitted tags be kept on hand for folks adding them later?

The relevance is that whilst I have notes on which tribe folk belong to, Google is a dubious help backsearching images for players/allowing people who aren't me to easily use historical portraits accurately & respectfully off the shelf rather than 'eh, right continent'-generically. If not, is there anything that could be done user-side to help, like putting info in file names? It strikes me this'd be useful for old military uniforms, too, as they can be confusing.

Also, I had a thought on Boogs' missing portrait since I was checking the rules and a portrait in colour just squeaked under this: might it have got auto-rejected for being over 5kb as a 100x100 piece? Unless it's turned up by now and is queued/somewhere I haven't seen, that is.

I can answer this part: Submissions are not rejected based on file size, because I generally edit them, myself, and get them to that size anyway. No one is required to actually edit their own portraits down to a 100 x 100 pixel JPEG that's 5kb or less; that's just what they have to be at the end, when they go into the gallery. So, if someone sends us a 1920 x 1080 PNG, that's still a valid submission and we get those all the time. Don't ever worry if you can't quite manage to force it down to that 5kb file size, send it in anyway!
