Edited posts-- old versions

I notice that RPol keeps track of when posts are edited... And even how much-- "punctuation," "slightly edited," etc., and the date...

...I don't suppose there's a way for a GM to see what a post said before it was edited?

I ask because I foolishly edited a post and accidentally "taped over" some things I didn't mean to get rid of...

I won't be surprised if the answer is no, but it doesn't hurt to ask, right...?

If you still have the browser open that you used, you might be able to back up to it.

What Lone Paladin said.  I tend, when I'm working very long posts, to paste them into a text editor every so often.

What Lone Paladin said was smart, but I already tried it, and it didn't exactly work, because I didn't realize I'd made the mistake fast enough in the first place.

But what you're talking about SORT of helped, Horus-- I realized right before bed last night (but after I'd turned the computer off for the evening) that I should check wordcounter.net, the word counter I often use online, to see if I'd stuck the text there to help work with it, as I often do, because wordcounter.net saves things forever... UNTIL you come back and paste over the last thing.

And it helped a lot-- I didn't get back everything I wanted, but I was lucky enough to get some of it-- at least half of it, maybe a bit more than half, I think.

So... yay! I'm better off than I was going to have been otherwise!

I'm pleased I was of some small service.  Pastebin is a service I've used from time to time for the same purpose.  (Free).

Well I most often drop things in WordCounter because it strips html and stuff off.

Also, I don't have to sign into WordCounter, just go, drop, edit or whatever, fast
