Portrait links broken
Hi everybody,

Haven't used RPOL in a while, love the new responsive site!
I noticed that all the portrait links seem to be broken. Is that a known issue or something that's probably local and/or temporary?

Should be temporary. Happens sometimes.  A refresh should fix it for you.

Ah, just noticed the portraits don't work on the Brave browser, but do work on Firefox.

Hmm, interesting. They should work just fine, it's a fairly simple image reference link.

Yeah.  I just tried Brave myself. Portraits are buggered all the way through, including browsing the gallery. Shields Down and it still doesn't work properly. It's probably some more specific security setting blocking the traffic sending the images.

jase might know better, but that's my guess.

EDIT: Sidebar, if you're looking at the gallery and you do "Open Image in New Tab," then you can successfully see the image, so it's not that the link is broken. The browser probably just doesn't enjoy the embedded link, so if you can track that setting down in the browser's config, then you should be able to make it work for you, in theory.

Yeah, I noticed this with my new computer, actually, when I tried Brave on the advice of a friend. Also the amazon link on the bottom left corner of the main page doesn't load but the site keeps trying to load it and it lags a little because of it?

There is another thread around here somewhere talking about the exact same issue. It appears that some browsers won't load "mixed security content", and RPoL images are not encrypted.

There should be a list of exceptions in the browser settings to which you can add RPoL.net, and it will allow the images to load without encryption.

Brave seems to have issues with the Portrait galleries because, while the site itself is uses https links, the galleries don't.  Brave can be adjusted to cope with this, as described in this thread: link to a message in another game
