Changing character's tags in The Cast

I've seen in some games, when looking at The Cast section, players and NPCs are tagged with a semal ldescription (e.g. Elven Mage) instead of just Player or NPC.

Could please some of you tell me how is this done?

It's a GM-only level setting.

In the GM Menu, you'll want to check out "Edit Character Tags" -- that's where you'll find it.

ok...not sure if   this is what you meant?..If you go to the Character  sheet

you see 'character Information" to the left of  your  PC's  Portrait

Biography  PT 1

Biography pt2

you can put  somehting in...my  people use it  for rank  and 'class"  in my space game

other  use it fro  race  and such in other games

You can add/change by using 'change Biography'... next post made  will show those   notations under the   PC's portrait

In reply to donsr (msg # 3):

Nope, that's Bio and players can fill that in themselves.  patchwolf has the right of it.

Tag, as shows on the cast list and elsewhere is set by the GM - it defaults to access level (GM, player etc), but can be overwritten with anything else eg a military rank, a faction.

As patchwolf said, GM link to change it is on the GM Menu under Edit Character Tags.   :>

Bio is the little bit that shows up next to your portrait, when you make posts. =)

To be fair, so does the Tag.  It's just for most of the games, that tag is simply "player" -- after the millionth time seeing player, you kind of stop seeing it.

For DnD games, I love using the tags to denote race/class; it makes it easy when reading the cast list to know who's playing what, rather than relying on memory.

Yeah?the Bio is  the big thing. for me, i never looked at the  GM thing, i let the players handle  their  Bio 'tags"

someplayers    use , Rank, Position, class, race  whatever..others have  some neat little comment that pertains to them..its a good thing to use, Not  enough folks use it.

Using Tags for Race/Class also frees up valuable real estate in the Bio lines for things like HP, AC, Saves, Conditions, etc.

Is it possible to change a NPC tag and not have the character pop up in the player cast list?

The character is designated NPC only if those letters are in the tag.

You can, however, have the tag say something like 'NPC - Temporary' and they'll stay in the NPC portion of the cast list. Or at least they used to, the last time I did something like that.

when i have a player  who says  RL is going to take them away, and that player seems  really into the game...i give them about  2-3  months..if they don't get in contact. I  turn the  PC to my  control and they drop  down to the NPC  list...if the player  comes  back, i just assign  them the PC back..keeps the CS   the same as well.

after  a while, i will delete the character , unless ..as a NPC..they have  fit into the  flow...( of course..they can always die, no one is immune to that)
