More like the Avengers than the Watchmen.. they were ALWAYS Vigilantes... the Avengers have official sanction to act ~ in fact if you follow the Movies.. it was S.h.i.e.l.d. Director Nick Fury that put them together.

Sorry, I'll stop now.  My comment was more tongue-in-cheek, playing off of the sentry aspect of the word, sentinel, more than anything else.  I mean obviously, we don't have anyone here that can rival Dr. Manhattan (like, the Man of Steel, another true mega-hero level hero, if there ever was one).

Honestly, I am fine with the name 'Sentinels', I just want to make sure that part of our mandate/agenda isn't going to be to try and wipe out all mutantkind ... :D  The guy bring us together isn't named Trask, is he?

However, perhaps you DO bring up some interesting points.  The game assumes everyone has a normal 9 to 5 job as heroes they work... but that s not near enough to fund a truly efficient and professional Superteam.. which for now I'm tentatively calling Project: SENTINELS, sanctioned by Center City as the Center City Sentinels.

But as we all know...municipal governments are tight-fisted about state or even city budgets... they will only provide the most minimum funding for a Special Law Enforcement Branch of the police department... many on their Police Funding Commision will be really reluctant to take much money for funding a team of... metahuman law enforcers.

So.. short translation...we are going to want to fund our operations to some extent.

Thinking ahead may serve us well... I think most character will have an income, but we may want to pools some of our available funds to set some details about our base of operations and some of its capabilities we have purchased.  Last I counted we have three? Hardware Specialists... Forgemaster [super-inventor?], Lite Star [Robotics], and Justicar [Robotics] {me}... we definitely do not want to be funded by Trask-like racists.  So it may fall to us three to save a way a little of our remaining budget to looking to setting up our HQ and resources available. There ARE rules for building super team HQ's in the game but I can't find them right now...

Ah Crap.  Found the Secret Base 'Rules'... but they are in The Rifter 37#, p.35... and NOTHING in The Rifter is really "official".

So yeah... we'll just have to figure it out for ourselves.

wow..it's almost a flash back..decades and decades ago I was in a superhero campaign we called Project: Hero :)

I do like the name Sentinels.  As SSOGM stated we can draw pay as law enforcement agents.  Some rules of making organizations are present in Ninjas and Superspies, and several other books.  A note on Lite Star, Eliza actually still works for the organization that created the suit, and law enforcement is their remit.  So makes perfect sense to have Lite Star sign up with LESP to give official credentials for what she would be doing anyway.  Though due to the nature of the organization I don't think they will be able to do much to help out Justicar with repairs and the like, unless it is a big favour asked.
On the other hand Eliza is well paid and would be happy to contribute to funds of the team in one way or another.

Oh I totally agree we should accept and use ANY HQ or additional resources the 'Official' LESP will grant us use of!!!

However, ALL us American's understand... policies change with administration.. and administrations have agendas.  We might have a great local police-law enforcement relationship now... but all it takes is a change to a "Different-minded" Governor, police chief, city mayor or even state legislature... and our 'Heroic' supportive status...could EASILY be either revoked and or end up us being deployed as Stormtroopers against the public good will and freedom.

So... a progressively forward thinking team of superpowered Weapons of mass destruction... need to take precautions and have a backup plan.  Our own bases, our own resources secured and prepared so with or without fickle government support we can continue to do the heroic thing, when local law enforcement can't or is deployed in direct opposition to the policy of protecting the public safety and freedom.

I've been waiting to see if anyone wanted to be called The Equity Federation and build themselves The Edifice of Equity.

I'll freely admit that while rolling up Tyger (as a supersoldier) that Miss America and American Maid/Made (the World's Most Patriotic Domestic™!) did come to mind as monikers.  Especially when she rolled up 'invulnerable shield' as a potential weapon.  Just saying...

You could call yourself Nemeses.
Perhaps build your base and name it Nemeses Manor.
Of course, then you would be required to yell "Nemeses muster!" every time a fight started.

Another point for notes to make on your character sheets, powers can be nullified. If you have a power that gives you an extreme boost to a characteristic, you need to have noted what the characteristic would be without the power.

I see Chimp Man Z as kind of the conscience of the team.  He is an entertainer, his job being to make people smile and laugh.  He has additional training as a paramedic and in  firefighting.  So, I see his whole thing as saving as many lives as possible in situations.  Being invulnerable, he is going to literally be putting himself between the bad guys and the public in general.
He has already faced prejudice for being an obvious mutant, and a little for being Jewish, so, he is going to show some grace under those circumstances
However, he will not deal well if he faces corruption in the department.

Man, filling character sheet is hard. But I am satisfied that I've managed to create an all around crafter guy. Obviously best way to fight using this character is beating other people with a wood sword.

The Tick is a very good taste btw. I am glad I am playing with people familiar with that.

Yup, the Tick was Awesome..both the live action and the animated series!  Both had me on the floor my sides killing me with laughter!

If I were to describe Hikari... he is a Futurist.  He firmly believes that all mankind's troubles can be solved with Science and the MORAL application of Technological Innovations from our Intellect!  It's why GOD created us with Intelligence, He Expects us to USE IT!  Hikari is Stridently opposed to the technological pollution of our Earth as it is Totally unnecessary in his opinion.  Those who don't think so are Sloppy and just plain GREEDY and should be opposed at EVERY TURN!!!

Be careful, some of us are really irritated by any Tick that isn't Patrick Warburton. Besides, those were the finest antennae I've ever seen outside of animation.
Actually, I was just looking at Powers Unlimited 2 and realized that Arthur is definitely in the Super Invention category.

We're almost ready to go. The location is Center City, and we've established that all involved will be a part of LESP. Let's assume there's some sort of office space that all use and begin with everyone gathered there.
