The motor that Patriot heard is one of the two man ATV teams that patrol the island. How the team is approached will determine how the team will react, within certain parameters. If they see anyone but another ATV team, they will shoot at them. If they don't see anyone, they won't hear anyone over the sound of their ATV.

Crusader attempted to move stealthfully, but failed. She realized a bit late that she had failed and decided the best course of action is to deal with it the tactical way you deal with any gunman, you run at them. It is the last thing a gunman expects, to be charged, and it can catch them off guard, making them miss or freeze up all together. When she is close enough she leaped, attempting to get on the roof and engage anone who might be there.

09:22, Today: Crusader rolled 15 using 1d20+5.  Leap attack (to get on top of ATV).

09:22, Today: Crusader rolled 7 using 1d20+2.  initiative.

09:20, Today: Crusader rolled 91 using 1d100.  /72% prowl, being all sneaky and stuff.

There is no top on these ATV's, however, leaping on it is a worthy choice.

The driver of the ATV is visibly shaken by the appearance of Crusader. So much so that he slams on the brakes and shouts "¡jueputa!"[Secret to group Spanish: (son of a bitch)]
The passenger fumbles with his rifle, dropping it to the floorboard as the brakes are slammed, and fortunately doesn't shoot himself as he retrieves it.
[Private to Chimp Man Z: Crusader runs 2½ faster than Chimp Man Z. Besides, Z was noticing the small colony of Geoffroy's spider monkeys on the island. It is, probably, of note that only spider and capuchin monkeys from South America have prehensile tails. OH, and one of Z's powers is to control from three to twelve of these creatures.]

Seeing the troupe of monkeys, CMZ stops in his run of the oncoming ATV.  When he does, several of the tiny primates stop what they are doing and move through the trees to stop and look at him.  He cocks his head quizzically at them, only to see them mimic his action.  When he waves at them, it is like watching eight miniature reflections of himself as they mimic him again.
Would you little fellas like to help me out?  Wight little heads nod in the affirmative.  We're going to go play with the humans here, chase them off your island.  Would you like that?  Again, eight little heads nod in the affirmative.  CMZ smiles.  Then let's go play, he says, then begins his run once again.  Strangely, the eight little monkeys grab sticks of varying thicknesses, and take to the trees to follow the simian-like hero.

19:24, Today: Chimp Man Z rolled 8 using 3d4.  Control monkeys.

[Private to GM: 50 experience points to Chimp Man Z for creatively expressing the use of his power]

Using her hard won advantage, Crusader draws and throws an ax at the rifleman. Her accuracy seemed on point, so she brought her fist around to connect with the face of the driver, then she grabbed and swung him like a club at the passenger.

Crusader easily incapacitates the rifleman, knocks out the driver, then uses the driver to knock the rifleman from the ATV, leaving both on the ground.

Justicar does not deviate in the slightest for the ATV; continuing with the mission objectives ~ he heads directly for the Lift/Shack at a pace all the non flying members on his team can keep up with... be it solo if need be.

Crusader was always supposed to be the loose element of Team Havok... but honestly, Hikari expected CMZ to be the one more dedicated to the sticking to the plan then himself.. but such is life.  Again he makes no comment as the more mature members ~ do as they will.  But even if the Team Havok scatters to the four winds Justicar was not deviating from the mission planned objectives... he only hoped Patriot would support his efforts and stick to the plan.

While Crusader is dealing with the ATV team back near the beach, Chimp Man Z is ranging a bit ahead of JUSTICAR and Patriot (who are pacing each other, neither coming close to their top speed). [Private to not Chimp Man Z; not Crusader: Due to this, and their enhanced technological senses, JUSTICAR and Patriot hear the second ATV, coming from the direction of the small shack, before Chimp Man Z or Crusader.]
The spider monkeys seem to get agitated, but continue to mimic Chimp Man Z's mannerisms and direction.

Justicar noting the approaching ATV Team gives CMZ the forewarning...

[Private to group LESPradio: +"Heads up CMZ ~ your on deck.  ATV Team heading our direction from the Shack Lift. ETA from your forward position, on point 45 sec.  Likely same complement as Crusaders ATV Team.  Neutralize at your discretion."+]

At the same time Justicar targets the ATV well within his range locking his radar on the target and tracking weapons...

01:00, Today: JUSTICAR rolled 57 using 1d100.  Justicar Read Sensory Instruments (67%). – [roll=1643173257.8518.355584]

With a tight burst communication he will feed his tracking and targeting telemetry to Patriot so he can also lock any weapons system he has on the approaching target.

But he speaks to Patriot as he's close in earshot, "Target locked but only fire if CMZ needs assistance.. let him handle it.  I want NO 'Blue Fire'..!"

Crusader took the lanyard IDs and their weapons. She retrieved her own weapon as well, then she used her ziptie handcuffs to bind the both hand and foot hogtie style. Lastly she commandeered their vehicle. She used their map to navigate to her team. She left the guards behind to what fate the jungle had for them.

Chimp Man Z, and his entourage, get visibility of the ATV coming towards them. The driver is similar to the first crew, just your average mercenary. The passenger appears a cut above, not only having a cleaner appearance but also actively scanning around the vehicle. Even so, he fails to notice Chimp Man Z or his followers.

[Private to Chimp Man Z: You have the element of surprise. This automatically gives you, and your clan, the initiative and removes your target's chance to automatically parry.]

CMZmakes for quite a sight, swinging through the trees with this small tree trunk clasped in his prehensile feet and surrounded by a small troupe of spidermonkeys.  He has the monkeys stop before the oncoming ATV while he moves to position himself to drop behind it.  When the patrol vehicle gets twenty feet from their position, the monkeys begin to pelt the guards with sticks, stones, and feces, forcing them to stop.  When that happens, that is when CMZ drops behind them to take a swing at them with the small tree trunk.

20:21, Today: Chimp Man Z rolled 9 using 1d20+3.  Swing, Batter, Batter, Batter...
Can he hit both at once?  How much damage?

The monkeys begin their assault, and as the driver slams on the brakes simultaneously to reaching for his rifle, the passenger yells "DON'T STOP YOU MORON!"
Unfortunately for them, the driver doesn't listen. Chimp Man Z shows the driver that his passenger was correct by slamming a tree into the two of them.

OOC: The fifteen foot long tree that Chimp Man Z harvested for his club is a magnolia (they're indigenous to the Caribbean islands). It weighs about 35 pounds per foot in length. This gives it a weight of 525 pounds. This sort of club does damage at 1d6 per 100 pounds or fraction thereof, plus PS damage. So the tree does 6d6 + 1d4 + PS bonus, split between the two men on the ATV. That looks to be around thirty points of damage, so each target takes around fifteen. Swinging the tree as a club uses two attacks, Chimp Man Z has two more attacks this round.

After the initial blow lands, the two in the ATV react in different ways. The driver uses the butt of his rifle to bounce off the big stick. It allows him to remain in place in the ATV, but with a broken rifle. His action involves 'flooring it' as the ATV starts to zip away.

The passenger in the ATV, grizzled and obviously older, expertly bounces off the tree trunk and uses the momentum imparted to roll away from Chimp Man Z and the ATV. He brings his rifle to his shoulder as he yells at the driver, "idiot! Use the weapon as it's designed, you moron."
Sighting towards Chimp Man Z and watching the ATV roll away, he says, "you're Chimp Man Z. They're not payin' me enough for this."

Justicar has a myriad of sensors that can perceive via thermal imaging, sound tracking, Radar scans Etc. the conflict between CMZ and the Force Patrol ATV team.  When the Veteran begins angling his rifle to take aim on CMZ; Hikari slightly adjusts his course of approach to line up a shot so no tree cover obstructs his line of fire... and his left shoulder weapon arm is deployed aiming the laser at the longarm in the Veteran's two handed grip {the gun easy to discern being colder than the man's thermal image} and the laser targeting system locks onto the target.

Hikari fires two pulses to disable/fuse the weapon's internal mechanics in the rifle receiver and melt the barrel...

CMZ stands up from his deep-knee fighting stance, letting the tip of the tree trunk drop to the ground.  His muscles are still tense, and he can bring the club-tree in an instant.
Are they paying you enough to keep their secrets?  Might be able to cut a deal.
