Lite Star had arranged with Crusader to meet on a flat roof top a block or so away from the HQ, a place with good lines of sight all around and quiet.  A private place to have a discussion, she'd brought a pair of heavy folding chairs and a little table so they could talk in comfort.

Sat in one of the chairs that was dealing well with the weight of the armoured suit she waited for the other heroine to arrive.

Before they parted ways after reaching port, Lite Star passed Bellissima a business card.

"This is for a contact who might be interested in discussing internship.  I work closely with them at times.  I do try and keep my connection with them on the quiet though."

A couple of days later an appointment is made to meet up for an informal chat is made with Eliza Knight at the Bean There cafe, a quiet out of the way artisan coffee house.  On arrival outside sits a Kawasaki Ninja H2 Motor Cycle.  At a table inside to one corner Eliza sits with a mug of coffee waiting, the jacket of her leathers hangs open a 'Cybertronic Spree' t-shirt worn underneath.

The woman who appeared that day was not the armored Crusader. Instead she was simply Sydnie Breuer, MDF. Her dark hair 8s pulled back in a ponytail, her hazel eyes downcast, but her figure is Crusader even in the dark blue suite. She crossed the roof and sat opposite Light Star.

Bellissima nodded as she accepted the card from Lite Star, "Thanks. I will give them a call, after I sleep for about 24 hours." She was still drained, but the headache was now down to manageable levels as she exited the yacht. And that was what she did, after the briefing, went home and slept for a day, except for an email exchange to set up a meeting.

Lexi pulled up in her old Rav4-hybrid to the coffee house, Bean There. As she stepped out of her car and locked it, she looked around at the cars, the only vehicle to catch her attention was the Ninja motorcycle.  Entering the coffee shop, she looked around as she went to the front counter to get herself a large hot chocolate and a blueberry muffin.  She noticed her contact, a lady named Eliza Knight sitting at the specified table.

Walking over to the table, the tall brunette paused and nodded at the woman, "Hello are you Ms Eliza Knight?  I am Lexi Nicoli," she asked confidently as she wore a pair of light blue jeans and a loose white crop top that ended about two inches above her pants and long loose sleeves as she waited for the woman's response.

Lite Star watched Crusader approach in her true identity.  It had taken her aback slightly, but they had spoken briefly about trust, she offered a hand.

"Hi, this is unexpected, though I appreciate the gesture.  I of course know a little of your reputation, and your opinions on vigilantes."

Taking a deep breath she lifted the semi-mirrored face plate of the suit's helmet, for the first time making eye contact with Sydnie/Crusader and in her normal voice Eliza said.

"Thanks for coming to meet me.  I hope we can help each other a little."

Retaking her seat Eliza let a finger trace over the very thin tablet that was resting on the table close to her and idly chatters

"I do hope your well, it's turned out to be a pleasant day after all."

Lexi set down her drink and muffin and shook the shorter woman's hand with a returning smile. The tall, toned brunette looked a little star struck as she greeted one of the Knights who set up the Knight  Foundation, she really hadn't believed she was going to actually be meeting one of the Knight family.  When she had originally talked to Lite Star, she hadn't tracked that Lite Star was connected to Knight Foundation and had been expecting a meeting with a standard HR representative.  She had looked up at picture of Eliza Knight so that she would recognize her if she saw her. So now when she was standing in front of her, she knew it was really her and now she was much more nervous and excited.

"It is a honor and pleasure to meet you, your family has done a lot of good around the world," Lexi gushed just a little bit, "And please call me Lexi." She sat down opposite of Eliza as the shorter woman sat down. "I am doing much better, just needed to rest a bit.  I overexerted myself which causes bad headaches." 

One of the things Eliza would notice is that Lexi didn't look like you standard science geek, she was toned with muscle that indicated lots of physical activity, use muscles over show muscles. "Today is a wonderful day, later this afternoon I am meeting some friends at Peace Park to practice weapon work."

It was quite the swim reaching this yacht after Winter Herald had received what he believed to be an open invitation, and required the use of his grapple being added to his towline, an awkward adjustment that had required him to tread water for some time. He had to empty the compartment of seawater upon reaching the deck. Hikari had not mentioned his yacht would be out to sea already, but this was a mild inconvenience, and likely for security reasons.

The more mundane possibility that Hikari was absent-minded, tied up in a project, and forgot he had invited Winter Herald here at all never occurred to him.

"Mister Hikari?" He was slowly following the sounds of activity, hoping to not trigger some irrational defense mechanism or startle Justicar in a way that would endanger them. "It is Winter Herald, here about that diagnostic. I have to pass as organic if I am going in public later today."

Winter Herald was oddly hesitant. He had not been programmed to feel fear, and yet here he was, curious about what he would do. A word that he was somehow defective from this person could severely damage his relationship with these new allies of his.

Not that anyone watching would be able to tell as he strode up to the building and calmly went up the elevator. These hesitations were in fractions of a second, and had little bearing on the consensus to come here. His programming demanded he come here, and that was what he was doing, even as subroutines were attempting to edit it.

He made it to the door of one Doctor Bonnie Barstow, the one that Lite Star had recommended to him. He walked in, cracking the door open, and visually scanned the room for anomalies and people. "Doctor Barstow? It is Winter Herald, here regarding the psychiatric assessment."

Winter Herald had the impression this was going to be much like the meeting with the doctor, but he was more at ease here and his consensus was more firm in acting out the programming, moving through the door with steady confidence. He still hadn't gotten a preferred name, but decided in the moment to settle. "Mister Davidovitch? You wished for a word with me once I had sorted out some living and personal issues?"

The office is not large.  It is actually rather small.  The desk has just enough room for the seeming ancient, department-issued desktop computer, a desklamp, and the laptop resting next to it.  Behind the desk is a deskchair, with another beside it, and a couple of file cabinets.  In front are a pair of old, padded folding chairs, and the single window is covered by light-colored, diaphonous sheers behind wide open blackout drapes.  A buffet-style table near the door holds a small refrigerator, a coffeemaker, and a microwave.  Despite being kind of small, the one thing the office has is its high ceiling.  The four corners have what appear to be metal poles mounted to the walls, and a swing stops merely inches above where his head would be.  On the walls, there are several photos that show what appear to be circus folk, including a younger, teenaged Chimp Man Z in his aerialist leotard.
He stands up, dressed is his almost ubiquitous police tracksuit, hand extended, as does the smartly dressed woman sitting in the chair nexy to him.  Just call me Jacob, he says.  He then introduces the woman next to him.  This is Jeanette Price, my public relations guru and image consultant.
The woman is pretty, and in her early forties/late thirties, her suit a simple affair in navy blue.    Nice to meet you, Winter Herald.
Jacob waves a hand to indicate the chairs.  How are doing?  Have you found a suitable place to live, yet?

Lite Star offers a wide genuine smile, head tilting to the side slightly as it usually did when her face was covered.  Taking a deep breath and relaxing, the none simulated voice was gentle and warm.

"Ok.  Yeah I'm sort of winging this too a little.  To start with, I'm Eliza Knight, altruistic foundation brat who spends their allowance on charity works.  I think we can both agree that ID's don't go any further.  I... I wanted to talk to you about that mission, and how you dealt with going into a situation like that.  I've never hurt someone more than broken ribs and impact shock from shooting something out of their hand.  I was not prepared to go into a place where I was going up against actual soldiers in combat.  You however seemed prepared for that.  How do you deal with that?"

There is a worried look on her face and she seem to be searching for something of a confort maybe in Crusader's reply.

Eliza's smile was wide and friendly, it sparkles in her eyes as much as anywhere else.  Letting Lexi settle she took a sip of her coffee.

"I'm very glad your feeling better, pushing oneself hard always has consequences, but often the need out weighs them.  Practicing as a team develops a greater bond and effectiveness that's for sure." Giving a slight nod she continues, "My great grand father set up the foundation to do what it could to help people.  And every generation so far has fully gotten behind that goal." She explained a little, "So I understand you are looking to intern maybe with Knight industries, with regards to neurological sciences?  What sort of area are you looking at?"

She held a light gaze on Lexi as they talk.

The name plate on the door was temporary, the office inside was set up with a desk to one side with a laptop and several devices beside it, lights blinking, some of them giving off radio waves and microwaves on communication bandwidths.  Along the wall with the door in it was a comfortable couch, and a leather upholstered office chair sat before it, low coffee table between couch and chair.  Seated comfortably in the chair was a woman likely just pushing her seventies.  Dressing in an expensive silk sky blue suit, hair long still showing streaks of it's natural auburn amongst the over whelming silver, thick rimmed glasses cover pale blue eyes that hint at an extreme intellectual power undulled by age.  On the arm of the chair was a slim smart phone and a little incongruous to the high tech was the watch at her wrist, like a chunky digital from the eighties, yet it too was transmitting and receiving data on a secured band.

"Please come in and take a seat Winter Herald.  Yes I am Doctor Barstow.  Lite Star said you would be here.  We can get started as soon as you wish, after a question.  You find a turtle on it's back by the side of a desert road, what do you do?  And more importanly why"

Lexi tilted her head slightly as Eliza mentioned training with teammates improved teamwork and improved team communications which she believed as well, but she wondered why it felt like a reference to her work with the Sentinels when she was referring to her martial arts friends. But that was irrelevant at the moment.

"Yes, I am going for a masters in Neuroscience at the moment and I am fascinated by how the brain controls the body.  I have a double major in Biophysics and Kinesiology and during those studies, the neuroscience field came to my attention."  Lexi leaned forward toward Alexi as she got excited about what she was talking about, "The reliable transfer of thoughts in the brain to messages that can control a robotic suit is fascinating as well as a sentient AI.  So really my interest in how the body works has migrated to the brain/body connection and Knight Industries is also a societal conscious company.  It's like having your cake and pie at the same time."  Lexi shrugged her shoulders a bit self-consciously as she took a bite of her muffin as she waited for the next question from Eliza.

He sat in the couch, and aimed to distribute his weight to cause minimal damage, taking what seemed to be an excessively relaxed pose on the couch, using what he knew about stealth techniques to apply as little pressure as possible to the couch as he could - this was generally how he walked without making too much noise most of the time. He glanced at himself, mildly annoyed at the breach in protocol, and realized he had little choice. "I do not know the weight capacity of your couch. I am attempting not to break it."

Winter Herald drew his conclusion quickly, to the external eye. "As for your question, I shall assume the question is a closed one, with all relevant data to be within the question. I would turn the turtle upright. 'Why' is complex, but the victorious consensus is that I am there, and there is no sound reason to leave the turtle struggling."

He didn't mind the session was being recorded. Given what she dealt with, likely having security on standby was absolutely required for her survival.

Winter Herald glanced uncertainly at the chairs, put two of them side by side, and distributed his weight between them. Solving this recurring issue was a future project.

"I exist." This was spoken with matter of fact optimism. "I have not found a permanent shelter yet, beyond potentially the HQ. Most of the time, when the base closes, I simply leave the city for the wilds, find an out of the way location that the sun will strike in the morning, and power down to minimal settings. I require little else, and my mobility assures the distance traveled is little issue. The only interruption is cleaning clothes and self. Since we lack an enemy to steal from, I have had to clean this uniform periodically. It is still damaged, although it supports the cover that I am still healing up."

Indeed, his midsection was wrapped in bandages, although they were no longer bloodstained, and he had arranged them in a way that they were holding the outfit together as well, vastly slowing down the rate at which they broke down. If one had explored the HQ, they would find inside the usual storage for the medical bindings an itemized "IOU" on a sticky note signed by Winter Herald. Concealed on the small of his back, although recorded on the IOU, was an addition to his arsenal that he considered authorized - a S&W 39, a weapon he was quite skilled with.

"I am assuming you have found a solution to the PR nightmare that is having automated equipment created by a terrorist organization as a member of your team. How one is perceived by the people funding your war is a subprogram I possess."

"Sea Sentinel" ~ 1994 100' Azimut 100


The 100 'ft Yacht was out int he Center City Bay about a half-mile out from its usual dock at the shipyard.  As Winter Herald approach the ship actually changed course clearly under maneuvering water jets to intercept him.  On the main deck apparently configured to be a testbed, a pair of rocket engines secured and pointed to the prow of the ship whine up to full power cycling through several fuel mixtures and thrust tests.  The rockets engines being tested do alter the Yacht’s bearing but before Herald gets close the test is finalized and the Yacht’s mostly silent water jet maneuvering drive adjusts the boat’s bearing to angle the diver’s gantry at the rear of the boat for Winter Herald to make an easy boarding.

Hikari shortly arrives from below decks he is wearing a kind of swim or wet suit with what might be martial arts shoes for his feet.



“Winter Herald, you didn’t have to swim all the way here... I would have come to dock to pick you up if you’d just radioed ahead!  No need for that ‘mister’ stuff, just call me Hikari or Justicar if you prefer.”

“I’ve been ~ wait; What… are you wearing?  Is that the same tattered stuff from the San Sebastian isle?!?  Good grief, come on aboard… I’ll get you something not shredded to wear!”

He nods, “Yes, we’ll got a good diagnostic of your systems and Bio-endo surface to make sure its repairing its self-properly… maybe we can help it along.”

Then he ponders, “Hmmm…where are you staying exactly and what is your Status with the team? Has Detective Broyko spoken to you at all??”

I noticed that in out last battle at the San Sebastian Isle your… aheh, clothing took some embarrassing damage.  I have an idea to make you a ‘harness’ more durable and able to keep your cell phone protected and give you a little more durable clothing for modesty and yet Not hinder your fighting style or hinder your movement and flexibility but light enough to wear under normal clothing and not be obvious.  If er… that is something you would want?”

Sydie took her time and rolled the question over in her mind. "My mentor trained me with these scenarios in mind. He put me through live fire exercises similar to those the military uses. As his sidekick I fought the mob, Russian and Italian, as well as street gangs." She took a moment so that Eliza would have time to process what was said.

"Ms. Knight, you did very well for someone who had never faced this before. I have heard of your company which has a decent reputation. The armor is just a trapping, the one who wears it is the true hero. Your mind and body must be your primary weapons,  the rest will follow."

"It is very difficult for me to come here without a mask. Behind one I can be myself. Without I must be whom others expect. Do you face similar challenges?"

Jacob looks thoughtfully at the android.  Being a potential security risk in the eyes of those who watch us, perhaps it is best you stay here.  It will keep you out of potential trouble and it will make it appear that we are more concerned than we actually seem to be.  I mean, from the after action reports I've seen so far, you were quite helpful.  Most of those you fought beside already seem to consider you almost a part of the team.
He looks over thenother's shredded clothing.  If you want, I could see if we have any additional physical training sweats.  Have you given a thought to an actual name for yourself?

I have had my clothing destroyed probably five times now, he says with a chuckle.  Luckily, being this hairy saves a lot of embarrassment.
I heard there was some genius kid at Watanabe Enterprises who was working on a treatment foe synthetic fibers that would render them virtually indestructible.  But, that was a couple of years ago, and haven't heard anything about him since.

"I have not yet been briefed in your radio frequencies." That didn't mean he hadn't figured them out, but it did mean he considered it rude to act on the information until notified.

Winter Herald considered the offer for an outfit, and decided he didn't have much to lose by looking. "As for clothes, I doubt I fit them, Hikari, but I am willing to try."

"Damage sustained is surface only. The external skin isn't currently designed to meaningfully heal. It is designed to present the motions of healing. I suspect this was a budgetary oversight, considering that I was likely constructed overbudget as it was." He opened up a compartment concealed on his body. "I actually have the means of dealing with such damage."

He removed two self-repair toolkits from himself, and presented them on whatever passed for a clear surface in the area. "These would allow shallow damage to be repaired, but I cannot produce more of them, and they were clearly given with the assumption that I would eventually return for a resupply. Do you have this kind of technology, or is this something new for you? This question is why I have not used them yet."

He noticed the seats here were considerably more sturdy then he was accustomed to, and sat down in one. He hadn't mastered the art of distributing his weight in such a structure that it would not break down under him, but these ones looked like they might hold. "I have not lingered at the base, and my living situation as most would understand it is dubious. Thankfully, I require little to exist. The detective and I have not yet spoken, although I only recently learned of their significance in the chain of command. This will be corrected when I feel I am more presentable."

Winter Herald actually cracked a smile. "Sweats would be an excellent choice. I am considering a career in helping organic wetware become more efficient. My body and response time can be upgraded through software and hardware, but an organic can upgrade theirs with the application of time, effort, and diet, without the need to sacrifice their organic frame. Sweats would be considered a legitimate uniform in that career choice."

"As for a name..." He had given some thought to phrase this, and he settled. "My programs are deceptive in nature, and my consensus is averse to deception, likely because my creators were terrified of a robot that could lie to them. Having a designation but no name makes it easier for me to tell the truth when someone directly asks me for my name. I am an infiltrator by design, intended initially to impersonate someone called Valkyrie. Grant me audio/visual samples, some money, and some time, and I could likely pass for Mrs. Price or yourself if a mission justified my doing so."

Eliza took a sip from her mug as Lexi talks with fervor on the subject a small smile on her features.  With the pause she nods making eye contact and offering a wide smile along with a slight tilt of her head, a somewhat idiosyncratic gesture that she'd not yet used in the meeting.

"I can see your very passionate about the subject.  The foundation's technical company, Knight Industries, does run research and development in prosthetics and full integration of them into the patient.  Cybernetics I think they call it, I'm sure that a team would be very happy to have you join them.  You also have an interest in AI and robotic's control via thought, another area that KI looks into, for things like disaster relief, hostile environment exploration and other safety and heath applications is fore most."

The doctor nods softly at his words.

"It is not only your words that I am assessing here.  The fact you have voiced such concern over simple furniture in a manner not about the efficiency of it, more in the fact you wish not to cause harm.  You have taken care to ensure you do not damage things, it is a trait I'm looking for.  Your answer to the question also backs highlights several things.  You have made assumptions on the information provided, and set a parameters on that.  However you still identify that the important part of the question in a complex one.  And to question your own actions and define them is complex.  Lastly you see no reasons not to help, you take an active choice to save even a hypothetical entity from struggle, letting the turtle be free to move away on and continue with it's life.
How do you feel about that?" Dr Barstow smiles and tilts her head, "And for your peace of mind, the couch is reinforced to accept your weight.  My Lite Star passed on fairly accurate physical characteristics for you."

Eliza nods a little at Sydie's explination, taking a deep breath.

"Hmmm, so it is a training and familiarity thing.  I'll have to bare that in mind.  Up until now my conflicts have mainly been with street gangs and drug dealers.  The armour is pretty much proof against small arms and with the strength then to break guns and weapons it sort of means I don't have to reply in kind.
Having the mask does create a separation, though I find it is more to section off different parts of who I am rather than being someone different.  Great Uncle Michael always said that  what makes us who we are is a collection of so many things.  That the concept heart is what dominates actions, he was partnered with the foundation's second AI when they were crime fighting.  A long time ago now, but they worked so well together because to their hearts were so in sync.
Yes, it's difficult keeping my identity from those I work with.  I would much rather be able to sit down and eat, have a laugh and joke around at the base without the suit.  But the foundation is so often butting heads with governmental departments that if I'm identified as a vigilante it would just make things even tougher to get some things done.  It also protects my family and friends too."

Hikari smiles, "Well, what I have in mind is not really clothing.  Its merely a durable harness and sports jock-strap for modesty.  The harness would be lightly made of metal mesh weave like my ballistic cloak I have attached to the Justicar."

"It would mostly be like a climbing harness with hooks and attachment points like a web-harness for attaching gear or equipment for hands free load bearing.  I designed a quick release dial button at the belt that could release as few or all the hook attachments at once. It would maybe weigh like 20 to 30 pounds due to its metal mesh construction but be loose enough fitting, with proper measurements, to not hinder your movements."

"In the back at the belt waist would be a single composite armored case, waterproof ~ of course, impact gel, and radiation shielded to hold your cell phone and protect it even from point blank explosions targeted at you."

"In-short the harness and armored phone case would have to be specifically targeted to be damaged..and it take something like a concentrated blow-torch to have any effect.  I could also padd the harness so it doesn't bind but since your invulnerable to physical harm I didn't figure the potential for chaffing would even be noticed or even possible with you wearing it?  I do have several Cadd designed styles for you to look at if your interested?  I'd assume since its meant to fit under normal clothing a neutral dark grey color would be acceptable?"

Hikari nodded, "Well we will fix that now at least temporarily.  Here is a radio frequency not for the LESP as yet, but it is a frequency you can use to contact Lite Star and Me on.  I don't want to give out CMZ's cell phone number as yet as its a personal device, but I'll call and get his permission first."

Hikari gestures him to follow into the interior of the watercraft. There does not appear to be any crew other than Hikari himself.  The interior has clearly been highly modified, but the posh luxury and comfort have been maintained with a spectacular crew deck with all sort of amenities, though much might be lost upon the Sentient AI that is Winter Herald.  The young Robotics engineer leads him below deck and clearly the crew quarters have been reduced but replaced by a fully automatic production mini-factory for robotics.

As they enter the workshop the Justicar suit is at the deck lift operating the the lift to bring the two test engines back down to the workshop where the parts of a large robot vehicle for lack of better terms is currently under construction. The engines are moved to a large workbench where two large robotic leg units are being assembled.  Arrayed about the room are several automated robotic utility arms engaged in various tasks of robotic assembly around the large open torso of the robot vehicle.  Two giant sided robot arms hand from the wall apparently completed and awaiting installation.  A partially assembled large robotic head rests on another workbench apparently undergoing sensor calibration tests from its many installed sensory electronics.  The open torso is by far the largest component a pilot's seat sits high in the torso but strangely below it is a cavity meant for a pilot as well but with no noticeable seat.

The Justicar waves to them both as the go by...

Hikari leads past all this activity to a small electronics diagnostics workstation of the main assembly floor like a small office.  There were several stools and a couple Very solid looking chairs in the room.

He nods, "Well as for clothing all I was going to suggest were the LESP Jumpsuit government issue one-size fits all.  I have three sets here on the Sea Sentinel...", to which he gestures to a set of lockers against the wall nearby.

"Feel free to sit anywhere... all the furniture on the Sea Sentinel is designed to take the 900 pound weight of the Justicar if needed..."

Hikari sits on a stool and listens to Winter Herald's damage report.

He nods, "If I may take a small sample of your endo-dermal material to confirm its composition?"

Given a sample he turns on his stool to shift his workstation which now becomes apparent is a circular table that can be turned to different diagnostic equipment including even chemical/biological apparently.

He tests the sample and and looks at a portion of it through a scope of some sort and nods.

Turning back, "Yeah its pretty much the standard fair for synthetic dermal flesh.  I don't use such stuff myself.. as yet, but I can easily obtain replacement materials and adjust my production lab to properly replace repair it as needed.  No worries, so save yours stuff for emergencies if you want and I'll make sure you have an ample supply!"

Hikari listened to Herald recount his living status and looked concerned.

"Ok. I understand your not wanting to stay at the LESP HQ until you get some status on your personal autonomy.  You do not have to do that anymore.  You can either stay here on my boat if you desire...the only reason I'm not at dock today is the marina gets complaints when I start testing engines and weapons there... they kinda frown on that.  But usually the Sea Sentinel is docked all the time.  Or you could stay at my mother's estate here in Center City, she's never there unless she's here on business.  Center City being one of the twenty or so estates mother owns around the world for convenience of housing when she needs to be somewhere.  I'm not staying there as I'd have to ask her permission to expand my workshop in the basement and it was just too small anymore form my needs. The downside of the estate being its distance from the LESP HQ and the need of you having transit to get there to here fast."

"In either case you can choose either ~ my home is open to you until you get yourself established.  I'm uncertain of how fast you can run... so transport may not be needed. But if you can drive ground vehicles or motorcycles, I have a Utility Van and a Racing cycle I modified both to carry the weight of the Justicar so you should be able to use them if needed.  They are parked at the marina vehicle lobby.  I'll run off some spare keys for you."

He smiles, "As a sentient machine with self-regeneration power you do have few needs other than maybe some cosmetic personal interests.  But I can give you a source of cash if you wish to purchase anything that strikes your fancy, aheh..within reason."

"But you do make a point about your 'legal' status.  So, Winter Herald what would you like the story to be?  I'll support anything you would want for you cover."

"I..I know we humans are confusing...so full of contradictions and ...sadly so much greed.  But we are not all like that, we're a young race, only about 10,000 years of "civilized" community... and we're still learning.  We can be great, its just our failures can be just as spectacular.  I speak to you in this way for you will outlive any of us as an immortal machine.  My race is trying to find that greatness inside. Please do not judge us too harshly, we have the seeds within to be a great addition to the sentients of the galaxy as I expect also this new life we have spawned ~ You, the child of our intellect.  I hope we prove worthy as moral parents of your kind and those children of tomorrow, both biological and manufactured to follow you.  We just need to grow up a bit more."

Winter Herald looked at one of the LESP jumpsuits, and decided to help themselves to one. He would test it out later. Apparently, organics reacted poorly to the nude forms of what they believed to be their own kind - it was quite confusing, but he suspected it had something to do with their preoccupations and hang-ups regarding reproduction.

He had already made the note to insure the surrounding environs were clear next time before washing his clothes.

He listened as Hikari spoke, finding himself cracking a smile as he considered this kid. "I'll take one suit, and thank you for the frequency. I'll keep it in mind. Thank you for the offer of residence, although I am hoping for something more personal. A service in exchange for currency is required, and I will require a substantial amount of currency to live within city boundaries independently."

"As for a PR story, it would honestly be whatever keeps me existing. I believe the technology that created my currently unique or rare processor is inevitable, and all dismantling me for science would do is speed this up by a few decades. I therefore see no reason to donate myself to a lab and terminate my existence. I do, however, wish to insure I am not a doomed spy, although I've been informed this will be resolved with the week. The one designated as Lite Star indicated as much."

"Also," Winter Herald frowned as he considered his words. "I do not regenerate in any aspect. My synth-skin only heals because of the synthetic blood and chemicals, and even then it only presents the illusion of healing. No structural integrity is actually restored, and thus a working knowledge of chemistry might be required to repair that part of my technology."

"This," He gestured to the self-repair kits. "Can absolutely repair that, but it also repairs armored plating as well. I am uncertain about its ability to repair sophisticated electronics or specific parts that have been forcibly shut down. But I repeat, I cannot make more of this once I use it up. So I ask again, do you have this technology, or is this something you should research and replicate if possible?"

He ended up rubbing the back of his head, a quirk picked up from the character he was really emulating. "I have no solution to your issues regarding humanity. I will likely be destroyed at some point as a result of my choice to continue a violent purpose. So do not worry about mollifying me. I am not humanity's replacement, regardless of my physical or intellectual superiority."

Winter Herald considered the question for a second, as he stretched into a position more associated with couches. Comfort was not an issue for him, so it was simply a matter of insuring he could quickly rise if the situation changed. But her question hadn't even crossed his consensus, save in one aspect. "I suppose...it is acceptable? I do not believe it would weaken the gene pool of their species significantly to save a being that would have otherwise ended. Any damage would likely be negligible, and might even offer a chance for positive mutation and the creation of a new species in the long term."

"Otherwise, I do not understand how I should feel. It will exist, until it does not under a circumstance I will not be around to stop."

Winter Herald smiled as Chimp Man Z struggled a bit with a moniker. "If you require a designation, a simple one is a crude translation of my number. Stark, in this case, will suffice as a name. I have detailed knowledge of a risque fictional series known as A Ballad of Flame and Frost, and someone who created me really, really liked this series and wanted me to have that knowledge."

He glanced around the room, taking it completely in at a glance, but mostly buying time for a consensus before returning his gaze to Chimp Man Z. "It is an oddity. I am guessing they intended for me to develop a contempt for the character who possesses virtue and is killed precisely because they failed to complement their virtue with political calculation and intelligence. They did not succeed, for I do not possess this weakness. The name, Ned Stark, will service as a designation - a fictional name for a fictional human. It is fitting for me, and... I like it."

Bellissima flushed a little bit under the compliment and shrugged nonchalantly, "Being on the cusp of new inventions is always exciting. Especially all the applications that will help people live better lives."  Lexi paused for a moment and bite her lip as she considered Eliza as she considered her next words, "I am not sure what Lite Star shared with you?  About how we met?"

She was curious if Lite Star shared her identity as a psychic and was wondering if she should reveal that.  Although she was hesitant to, she wanted to get a job on the merits of her skills and not her psychic powers. And Eliza's head tilt was reminding her of someone else. A quick search through her perfect memory and curiously it matched the head tilt that Lite Star used since her face was completely hidden by her helmet.  She was tempted to skim the top of Eliza's thoughts, but restrained the impulse since that would be an invasion of privacy, something she has become more conscious of since her powers became strong enough to catch other people's thoughts.

Crusader shook her head, "I don't have any of either, not anymore." She thought about it, "I am hoping that you might be a friend, but I do not want to presume. What else would you like to talk about?"

Hikari grins broadly clearly pleased and chuckles, “Well it can be in any style or color you like as flashy or plain as you want from rhinestone studded to plain black ... I can easily run off several choices.  I’m just pleased I can help.  I’ve been pondering each of the team members considering how I might employ my Robotics and Technical Skills to craft something to enhance and assist each member with technological conveniences that fit organically into how they fight and or use their abilities ~ in hopes I can contribute more to the Team than just the flying tank role in battle.”

Hikari nodded at his desire for a more personal residence and ponders thoughtfully taking his chin in hand then came to an idea…

“It is admirable to want to have one’s own residence and income… might I suggest the Identity we craft for you be a physical trainer? With the proper accreditation perhaps even a self-defense instructor.  That way you could use your ‘superior physical’ capabilities to be paid to teach and train others to earn an income so you could then rent your own apartment.  You would not even need the amenities at first of water or heating. Paying your rent and power and light bill would be your only bills.  We the team could also intro you to the LESP Chief as another ‘secret Id’ member, like Crusader, Lite Star, and Belissima who is a “cyborg” so you could receive your LESP monthly stipend to supplement or even make unnecessary outside employment to support yourself.  Consider it?”

Hikari took note of his mention of getting help from Lite Star’s Organization to do a system check and make sure her was not a traitor to himself and just nodded in acceptance.

“Lite Star is one of the best of us, a dedicated hero with an Excellent support organization.. she can help you more in that than I can, trust her she will do right by you.”

At Winter Herald’s frown Hikari pays especial attention…

“Ah, yes I AM familiar with that kind of bio-dermal material and have the tech and skills to repair it if needed.”

Then he looked in wonder at the two presented self-repair kits understanding of their significance dawning on him…

“Hmmm… may I look at one please?”

Turning over in his hands he shook his head in the negative, “…no. This is unfamiliar tech, VERY advanced! I’ve never seen the like… could I analyze one?  I think I can do that without disassembly.  On the surface it looks like some kind of programmable carbon-sheet nano-material...”

Then his eyes go wide, “Wait! I …I may know something like this and possibly where it might come from!”

He gets a serious and somber look in his eyes.

“M- My father, Karl Stottmeister did research and invented programmable nano machines, for Krupp Aerospace in Germany.  His initial project was adaptable re-entry materials that could repair and regenerate the thermal shield surfaces of trans-atmospheric aircraft with carbon-nano sheets.  But he discovered the nano-machines he’d designed could do more than just repair re-entry shielding on aircraft.  They had a wireless network so they could coordinate together and work as a unit to a task… but they could also form an artificial neural net effectively.  Also they could … do more than just repair they could build more of themselves as part of the repair process and thus they could as a growing neural net hold A LOT of data.  He experimented with expanding their capabilities and data processing capacity in secret.  Krupp Aerospace did not realize how capable his adaptive nano-carbon materials were.”

“Your self-repair kits on the surface seem related, I’ll have to do some analysis to be certain, but it seems… perhaps some of my father’s inventions and tech has made it into FORCE’s hands or he discovered somehow on his own.  I.. I as yet cannot replicate this as … I have ‘refrained’ from furthering my father’s research.  Because… his… personality Imprint facsimile in the form of my AI ‘Karl’ warned me the potential danger if such technology was made publicly available.”

He sighs his gaze falling, “…let me explain.  My father died when I was 6 years old, it was supposedly a ‘Car Accident’, but I have reason to believe Krupp Aerospace arranged it when they realized father had stolen his invention and research erasing the files to keep his nano-tech out of Krupp’s hands.  I can only assume Krupp tried to coerce him in some fashion to give it back.  I don’t have any proof one way or another and I do not know what he feared they would do with his invention but it was enough for Krupp to arrange father's ‘accident’ to try to acquire it. Guess things did not go as Krupp planned?”

“Anyways when I turned 13 I received a package in the mail from my father post dated to arrive on my 13th birthday.  It was a small box with a curious carbon-cube inside. The moment I touched it, it dissolved into millions of carbon nano-machines and infested my blood stream.  Those nano-machines are Still in my body, but their neural net contained a … copy of my father ‘Karl’ and… it told me my father’s research could spell doom for mankind unprepared to use it responsibly and I was to protect that data.  But with the nano-machines fully integrated with my brain and nervous system my intelligence was multiplied their wireless connection giving me all my father’s research and able to parse the most advanced technology from the cloud of interconnected computers world-wide.”

“I have been unable to filter the nano-machines from my body.  I’ll admit… they scare me. So I’ve not tried to learn how to really employ them…heeding my father’s warning, lest someone.. or Krupp Aerospace realize they are resident within Karl’s son Hikari.  I know they feed me data sometimes from the internet apparently they are able to infiltrate almost any data system with a wireless connection… but I cannot consciously control them.  But THAT is why I’m so smart… and can think so fast. It was how I was able to build the Justicar and all my other devices.”

“The AI that is resident in the neural net of the nano-machines within my brain-stem and blood can download to machines… hence my Justicar suit’s resident AI ‘Karl’ a copy of my father’s mind and memories”.

He sighed sadly, “I.. do not know how ‘real’ or how conscious ‘Karl’ is… but he acts like my father so who am I to say?  He.. It… does not always answer my questions about my father’s life or death.”

He takes a deep breath, and looks up to meet Winter Herald’s gaze, “..Yes, I can eventually replicate this tech… but I’m not sure I should?  Though I guess if it is just to make repair kits we keep in-house to the Sentinels it might not be that risky?”

At Winter’s mentioning of no answers for humanity and the eventuality of him being destroyed due to what amounts to attrition, Hikari smiled and touched his knee gently, “..Well that’s the big mystery of life Winter, finding out what what to do with a life, what we stand for and What are willing to sacrifice to make a better tomorrow as best we can see it? And I think the world would be diminished with your absence. So I’ll do everything in my power to see to it you remain as long as possible.”

Then he got another thoughtful look, “..you know if I could harvest some of the nano-machines from my blood… they keep replicating themselves to a certain medium as far as my analysis can tell and if I filter too much of them I get anemic from their harvesting iron from my blood to replicate themselves ~ I get sick if I drain too much of them.  It’s a pain, but I might be able to harvest enough and wipe the sample of their data to create an effective blank neural net to upload a copy of your AI matrix?  So you could constantly back up yourself so even with the destruction of your current form you could be restored… minus a little time slot of current memories since your last update.  Heck I might, even via satellite uplink, be able to design a update protocol that keeps your data fresh up to an hour or less!”

Winter Herald had his moments where he would stand on a soapbox too, so to speak. "Technological suppression is not only harmful to the greater population, it is actually counterintuitive. My existence, or the existence of any technology for that matter, means someone else will figure it out. I do not know if the reparation technology is derivative from your father's work, although parallel advancement and technological theft are equally likely considering the nature of FORCE."

Consensus briefly had their debate, but was settled quickly. "I believe your father feared the abuse of technology, which is not an unfounded fear. Organics are typically programmed to favor short term gain over long term benefit. It is best, once developed, for such technology to be dispersed to as many parties as possible, as quickly as possible. Symmetry disincentivizes warfare, of physical, economic, and cultural varieties."

His face actually went pale as he considered Hikari's suggestion. "Sickening yourself for me is foolishness, especially for untested technologies. I will last long enough for safer means to be employed. Again, give it a week. I do not believe Lite Star's organization intends to dismantle me for too long, and I will likely remain aware during most of the procedure."

He then rubbed the back of his head. "Also, this technology being offered admittedly has a transactional motive. I have upgrades I would like in exchange for sharing this stolen technology. I require reinforcements to my leg joints at multiple points, and a software upgrade. Both of these upgrades would not only make me more effective and versatile in the field, but they would enable me to simulate sitting in a chair, a simple physical task which is more important than my creators believed."

Winter Herald did not even pause in his response. "Most organics are also not deliberately constructed, with natural means favoring redundancy and resilience over efficiency. My having a deliberately constructed name is logical."

He had an idea. "On an aside, can you arrange for me to have a job aiding organics in improving their..."

He paused as it occurred to him his normal phrase would extend this unnecessarily. "...physical fitness? I have off-time sufficient only to improve mechanical or organic life, and organic life clearly outnumbers mechanical, likely to the near future as well. The math is clear. Aiding organics in reaching their physical and mental limits is a desirable goal to me."

"Justicar and I spoke about this, but I doubt they alone can or should do this, especially given the large number of projects they are already involved in which merit their attention more. They are one person - two, if one counts the AI - but a singular mind of any being has difficulty multitasking, no matter how brilliant it is."

Hikari smiles brightly and bobs his head in a brief respectful bow of gratitude of praise.

"I'm just an engineer, I do what I can with my limited skills."

Then he gets a thoughtful expression, "Actually I've been pondering asking each of the team permission to present them with a new costume same styling as they already have but with a few built in Hi-Tech conveniences.  A little armor weave for protection, some subtle web-harness load-bearing carrying hooks so either Lite Star or I can easily hands-free carry team members in flight, and even some communications equipment built in.  I've noticed that Bellissima, Maharajah, and Crusader all wear Masks. I've already finished manufacturing a Crusader Mk II helmet, but I could easily do similar to a limited degree with their masks & costumes add a miniaturized Gas Mask, some low-light optics, and built-in hands-free communications.  I'll be getting Crusader's new helmet to her as soon as she contacts me.. I think she will like it...!"

As Winter Herald listened to Hikari's tale.. there were some things that did not add up.  If Hikari's father Karl Stottmeister did not want his technology used or researched further..then why did his AI personality copy give Hikari access to all the tech instead of just erasing it?  Hikari explained how he became so smart allegedly, but that does not explain Why he built the Justicar suit and took up 'Crime-fighting'?  Also, if Hikari is underage where is his legal guardian?  He made pointedly No mention of his mother in his story. Perhaps he has not told all the facts involved ~ or maybe he does not know all the facts either?

Hikari nods slowly, "Yes it is true once the Tech Genie is out of the bottle its a little too late to wonder if people are ready for its implementation... I agree Education and Regulation and enforcement of such regulations is key to technologies responsible use!"

Hikari blushed, "OH no..! I only became anemic the time I tried to fully filter my entire blood content of all the nano-machines.  They... didn't 'like' that and immediately took steps to rebuild their numbers ~ fast!  I get the feeling they are programmed to at all costs stay bonded to me.  I've done a little examination of them under a microscope.  I found they come in two varieties... the original carbon structure nano-machines the majority of which seem mostly permanently bonded to my brain and nervous system with only a small trace amounts in my blood.  Then there are the iron mineral nano-machines that the original carbon nano-machines, I assume, made or replicated.  No idea what they are all doing other then constantly surfing the Wireless networks they encounter.  But straining out a small sample of the nano-machines would not trigger any anemia.. they replace themselves to a certain density in my body and stop. But if Lite Star and her Organization can figure something out.. yeah I'd rather not fiddle with my nano-machine passengers."

At the mention of potential upgrades Hikari gets a BIG grin on his face, "I was hoping you'd bring this up. Look, I'm rich, loaded to the gills... and considering how may family makes its money most of it is likely of questionable origin being from the cut-throat world of Corporate Business.  So I do not mind spending it to help Heroes who are working for the common good ... call it paying it back.  So I do NOT charge my team mates for upgrades in their gear... If I have it You will have it!  BUT, I do understand pride and self-reliance... so if it resolves a cost-benefits logic equation in your understanding sure your Repair Kit Tech is a adequate trade for hardware upgrades you want to employ. Though I'd have done them for you for free anyways..regardless."

"Now if you wouldn't mind ...er moving over to that diagnostic table for me to get a complete scan of your hardware.. I can begin designing those joint upgrades.  As for software.. I think I'll need more detail on exactly what the software your wanting is supposed to do; targeting software, tracking software, sensor analysis software? I'll need some idea what your wanting and I'd suggest waiting for software upgrades until you've seen Lite Star's experts first."

"Feeling take a long time to get a grasp on.  And you will have them without knowing you do.  Compassion seems to be one of the kernels of your core, a drive to preserve life for it's own sake, to allow it to continue because there is the chance it might improve, and a willingness to protect it in the future." A slightly far away look came to her eyes as a memory touched the aged genius, "It was something similar I gave to a dear friend over forty years ago and he has grown well with it.  But back to you, do you consider yourself sentient?"

Eliza pauses for a moment thinking on the best way to handle this, taking a deep breath before continuing in a soft secretive voice.

"Lite Star and I are very close and I'm well informed of what has transpired." I feel that in the long run the work Knight Industries is doing will help more people than anything else I could do."  She nodded satisfiedly as she continued with her qualifications, "I have done volunteer work at retirement centers and rehabilitation centers around Center City, all the details are in my resume.  Would you like me to send over to you?"  She gestured down at her phone, which she had setup so that she could send her resume with just a couple of quick presses of buttons. "What else would you like to know?"

Bellissima was walking through the HQ for the Sentinels after spending most of her day resting.  She was looking for Justicar, she wanted to check up on the status of the gem.  It had been on her mind for the entire day was keeping her from fulling relaxing and recovering her energies.  The best way to fix that was to find out if Justicar had sent it off yet.  She could use her telepathy, but that opened her up to hearing some private thoughts that she would rather not know and she had a very hard time forgetting anything.  She turned a corner and almost ran into Hikari, whose head was down and looking at a tablet.  "ohh, hey Hikari, I was just looking for you." The brunette's voice still sounded tired, but much better than when they docked after the island mission.

"I suspected you would do this task for free. The point was the technology sharing. Insure it reaches as many sources as possible, as quickly as possible, and that it is as affordable as you can arrange. This will revolutionize many aspects of society, once it is developed and mass produced." Winter Herald moved to the table to lie down. "The software upgrades I am asking for are simple, if twofold. One is an advanced balancing program with the benefit of enhancing my agility in the field. Combined with my towline technology, any surface capable of surviving the physics can allow me to alter my angle of movement as long as the line can hold it."

He made sure his legs, at least, were available for anything to operate on them. "The second is an advanced radio usage program. I have a sophisticated communications array built into me as part of my function as a soldier, but I can only execute its most basic functions. I cannot execute tasks using it with precision and the rapid judgement required of an evolving combat situation."

"The clothing can be removed or destroyed as needed, although it doesn't seem to be covering up much of my legs anyhow. I do wonder what kind of person this Valkyrie was, the being I was supposed to imitate. Their sense of fashion is terrible."

Winter Herald considered the question for five seconds. "Sentience is a difficult question to answer. I am modeled after organics, and like them, I am limited by my programs to a point. If the proper situations come up, the correct stimuli or combination of stimuli as my sensory systems understand them, my actions are preset. The only way this can be altered is by a consensus to change the programming, which may or may not be possible in a limited time window, depending on how many other programs are dependent upon the one being altered. No change is possible without data suggesting that a new consensus is advised. Organics seem to operate in a similar fashion, but without thinking about it as much, so my design makes sense."

He realized none of that was an answer. "In light of the short hand of my consensus, I still do not know. The definition is unclear."

Sydnie looked down, embarrassed by the state of her life. "My Crusade takes up so much of my time. I am constantly looking at intelligence for patterns in criminal behavior, researching coming threats, working out, and working..."

She was lost in thought for a moment, "I can SCUBA and drive a motorcycle but those are in furtherance of the Crusade."

Again she is lost in her own thoughts. "Oh! My car, the Boss 302 Mustang. That is really how I relax, working under it's hood. I am trying to add Nos and reinforced glass but that takes time and money." She looked at Eliza she went on, "Sailing sounds nice, peaceful you know? I like doing things with my hands, it quiets my mind."

It is Only because Bellissima has seen Hikari out of his Justicar armor that she recognizes him... though his wild bleached almost platinum blonde hair is a good givaway.  He is dressed in Black and Red-slashed, racing leathers ~ Jacket, pants, biker boots, and gloves with mirrored shades.  His leather biker jacket is open partially unzipped revealing a very colorful Anime' Shirt of Neon Genesis Evangellion character Asuka Soryu Langley prominent on the T-shirt underneath.

He looks like some young Japanese Bōsōzoku 'Go-Gang' Biker punk!

He looks up from his PDA his eyes unseen behind his shades, his expression distant until it dawns he's been addressed.  For a Japanese Youth he's... tall at 5'10"... and as he moves the leathers creak to contain the muscular yet graceful youth.

"Oh, ah Hi Bellissima... you look tired, everything ok? I'm just dropping off my edited and redacted as needed ~ without seeming 'obviously so', Mission Report for the San Sebastian Isle Operation."

Bellissima arched one of her eyebrows as she took in Hikari's outfit, definitely not have expected him to dress like that.  She was more expecting a suit and tie type ensembly. Without the suit around him, he looked younger and was definitely taller than she had expected as he was a little taller than her.  She was dressed in her 'heroine' outfit for lack of a better term.  Black jeans with hiking boots with a sleeveless thick spandex top which extended up her neck to cover her lower face with her dark sunglasses.

"I am fine, still recovering from exhausting myself yesterday," Bellissima explained, "When I push myself that hard it takes me more than one day to fully recover." She fell into step with Hikari as she gestured they should keep walking, "I wanted to talk to you about that, mind if we go outside?  The fresh air helps me recover." She looked around as she noticed officers in the distance walking around the building.  The fresh air was obviously an excuse for them to go outside and somewhere were the chance of being overheard talking was significantly less.

Hikari's gaze was hidden behind his mirror shades could not be gauged at to what his attention was on but he noted her shifting gaze and nodded, "Sure... outside... fresh air."

He turned and headed from the office area for the exit to the small vehicle parking lot for personnel vehicles outside the repurposed fire station that was the LESP HQ.  Once outside he led the way to a... very much souped up racing bike. A red GSX 1300R - Suzuki Hayabusa...



Approaching, the bike was indeed modified its forks and tires were much more robust than strictly needed and the bike was a little longer then street legal 'racing' bikes.  A Red Racing helmet was resting on the seat as Hikari walked over and swung a leg over it to sit stuffing the Touch-Screen Computer Padd he'd been carrying into a leather jacket interior pocket.  He took the helmet in hand leaning it on his thigh while he adjusted his shades with one hand to regard Belissima.

He immediately spoke up forestalling anything she was going to say, "You know Bellissima, I've been pondering the team's costumes, your's included and I was planning to offer some high tech enhancement for a little added protection and convenience.  Little things like a little bit of Kevlar/Deltaweave to add some light armor protection, for those with masks ~ like you, and Maharaja an integrated gas mask rebreather, and built-in hands free communication.  Perhaps even some low-light or IR optics... to your styling and specifications of course none of your look need change.  All free of charge ~ of course, I just would like to contribute a little more to the team than just status as resident flying weapon platform..."

He continues to extol briefly some of his ideas... but he persists in fiddling with his mirror shades drawing her attention to the fact he is tapping his temple repeatedly at her and regarding her over the top of his sunglasses...

Hikari nodded, "Much more research is needed into nano-machine programming and communication to make sure they can be controlled and not go 'off-task' before they can seriously be considered for mass production and application in practical use.  Rogue nano-machines can inflict great destruction and loss of life if the technology is rushed.  But your sentiment is understood and appreciated.  The only examples of such tech I've had any experience with have been what is inside me already.  Perhaps the tech you have provided access to has a different more controllable approach? I'll look into it."

Hikari listened to Winter's explanation of the software upgrades he is looking to add to his data-systems.

"This scan table uses modulated deep radar scan in pulses to get internal images of objects placed upon the table.. the pulses are relatively low powered and take a bit to compile an image so its safe for living beings to use without harm."

"As for your software upgrades, if I understand you a Radio: Scrambler - ECM, ECCM software is what your looking to add?  'Karl' already has such software resident in his systems.  If you do not wish to risk direct connection I could have 'Karl' upload the software to a storage medium for you to sample?  You will have to figure out the needed 'drivers' needed for your system... unless your would require some assistance in writing a program to integrate it with your resident software?"

He ponders the Scan table controls adjusting the scans and allowing the device to slowly resolve a 3D image of Winter's internal hardware components.  Hikari took the time to get his actual clothing measurements and sent an order through his Virtual space for clothing of suitable proportions to be delivered to the marina while he works.

"Software for enhanced movement capabilities... is tricky.  I think I'd need a copy of your current maneuvering terrain following and navigation software to likely custom program a new or enhanced maneuvering program for acrobatic movement if such is not part of your current software.  Your weight, balance, and internal gyros sensitivity and precision specifications would make that new software unique to your current form... one size would not fit all in that case."

Hikari smirked at Winter's comments about his clothing, but filed the name 'Valkyrie' away for further research later, "..no worries.. I've already gotten your measurements and have sent an order for clothing replacements already ~ I assume two outdoor jackets, jumpsuits, slacks, pullover sweaters, and desert boots are acceptable? They will delivered to the marina within the hour.  'Karl' already has the Sea Sentinel heading to her berth at the docks.  Though the service I use sends aerial drone deliveries.. they do not like orders delivered out to sea ~ delivery loss risk too high."

Bellissima walked outside with Hikari and followed him over to where his motorcycle was.  She was impressed with it, although she was unaware of all the modifications that he had put into it as she did not know much about motorcycles.  She turned him as he suddenly started talking about making upgrades to her outfit while tapping his temple significantly.


She was hoping to not use her powers for a bit longer, but she had to agree that was the only assured way for them to converse without being overheard, although it would be a bit halting, short phrases being the best.  Long sentences were difficult to send and people had to many random thoughts popping up to make it easy to listen to a long sentence, especially if you was trying to keep up a covering conversation at the same time.

Reaching up to pull down the cloth covering her lower face, she folded it down to make a turtleneck collar and now she could walk around and no one would question whether she was a superhero, showing Hikari the ingenuity of her outfit.  "That would be great.  I don't have the funds for more than what I have now." She smiled at the tall, young man before her, "Although I can see in the dark when I need to," she informed him.

Focusing her telepathy on Hikari, she sent into his mind, "Use short concise sentences," she instructed him as she paused before sending another thought, "What is the status of gem?"  She paused again and added, "Any attempts to confiscate it?"

She continued talking after a pause, "I would like to keep the same idea of being able to quickly look like I am wearing normal clothes."  she focused on Hikari's surface thoughts to here his response.

Reading Hikari's surface thoughts afforded Bellissima an impression of his mind that was impressive.  Hikari's mind was strong [ME20], and very Very Orderly, compartmentalized and precise... unlike any teen mind she had ever interfaced with.  He had a tightly defined self-awareness and a strong unyielding will that was surprising.  It... was almost as if something were... fortifying or anchoring his mind and will... it was hard to explain but unlike any mind she's experienced before.

She registered his surface thoughts very compartmentalized in sections ~ the outward vocal conversation, the current upgrades to the Justicar MK III he had running, the plans for the Shadarkos Entity containment, the edited/redacted San Sebastian Report, the awareness of the time allocated to travel he would need after this conversation to stay on his tight time schedule, even registering how attractive Bellissima is to his awareness... all facts and plans clocks running with precision in his mind keeping track of data and observations all neatly and efficiently filed in his mind in priority of importance.

There were no stray thoughts to his mind he was clearly highly intelligent [IQ21] and able to multi-task to a level she'd never seen before. It was eerie. Something... augmented in a fashion she could not put her finger to the cause of it.  Almost like a regimented microprocessor ~ though there was no doubt Hikari was all human.. it was just odd how ordered and precise his mind and thinking processes were.

"Oh, cost is no issue ~ I would never charge my teammates for upgrades to their equipment that might protect their lives... do not concern yourself over such trivial matters as cost...!"

Once she contacted his mind he stopped his tapping gesture and clear strong concise thoughts answered her...

"Good. I know you are weary, but this was the best secure."

"The 'Gem' is safe. Constructing lead Coke Can-size containment for it now with hidden motion-trigger homing beacon concealed within."

"No attempts to seize it.  Not even mentioned in my Report"

Hikari smiles, "I'm sure I can produce any styling you would desire once you have decided upon what miniaturized conveniences you might like.  My first Tech Contract was with Lookheed Martin Aerospace for greatly miniaturized Sensors and Avionics... I can easily provide some useful upgrades for team members personalized costumes without any major changes to styling or personal touch."

As she can read his surface thoughts.. his vocal conversation has no deception in his words he is not 'acting' he means every word he says.  In fact Bellissima gets the distinct impression that Hikari actually HATES lies and avoids them whenever possible... its part of his core psyche and a strong dedication to Honor.

"Oh but forgive me.. you wanted to speak to me about something?"

...but she notices something else there is something he is focused upon hiding in his mind... not the passive personal secrets everyone has Hikari is actively right now trying to hide something behind a mental wall of mathematical calculations repeating.  He is not lying about anything he has told her but he is directly keeping something hidden.

"I would not suggest rushing a new technology ahead of safeguards. But parts of the technology will get out, and will see use. Sometimes accidents will occur, regardless of testing. Sometimes it will be abused and shape society in unexpected and undesirable ways. Trust that it will be corrected, and you will have a greater future for your trouble."

Winter Herald considered modifications to his own mind accordingly. "Likewise, perhaps me having some patience before downloading a new proficiency would be wise. Unless this complex data is stored on something no larger than a soda can, I will not be able to transport it. If I cannot carry it, send it to Lite Star."

He shook his head in the negative. "I lack an acrobatics or similar program. Most of my physical balance is centered on a highly localized and combative program - the necessary balance required to allow me to function and engage in combat and noncombative situations. I do have the foundations, however. I have also learned from observing your teammates, and added their combative techniques to my own. My proficiency at engagement, maintaining form, breaking structure, and delivering finishing blows have all increased notably."

Hikari nods and smiles slightly, "All is not lost in the prospects of your generously donated advanced tech!  With a little experimentation on some limited versions of your repair kits some practical applications can be forthcoming quickly.  Especially if the nano-machines are built with limited power and or limited software to make it Very task specific.. like surgical nano-bots with only the programming to knit calcium structures like bones, or nano-bots only programmed to break-down or better yet collect petroleum products like oil spills for environmental clean up, or even nano-deconstructors only programmed with just enough information to convert trash in land-fills to recyclable materials!  The possibilities are endless!"

On the wall screen a compiled detailed structural scan of Winter Herald's internal hardware was being displayed and analyzed for recognizable components as a list start to form of components or at least equivalent components for replacement or perhaps even upgrade.

Hikari shrugged, and handed a flash-drive to Winter, "Er.. that is the ECM/ECCM radio encryption/decryption software that 'Karl' uses.  Do you have a port for upload, or would you prefer Lite Star's techs up load it wirelessly?"

Hikari regarded Winter's negative reply about his combat program pondering how to add programming for such maneuvering to his existing software.  Then Winter provided something of a solution himself.

"Wait, you can record and mimic the combat styles of combatants you observe?"

He turned to look at the display cataloguing the hardware parts in Winter's robotic frame...

"And it says here you have a combat computer installed?"

"Then there is the solution.  I could interface my combat computer in the Justicar with yours and have you observe ME performing acrobatics which would then through your observational mimicry capabilities effectively let me 'teach/program' you Battle computer to emulate such maneuvers into you own Combat profile characteristics! Basically, like tai-chi aerobics we would practice together and your battle computer would be directly programmed by remembering the lesson and integrating them into your own software by 'learning' the skill by mostly self-programming yourself with no possibility of driver miss-match or mis-calibration with your current gyros and servos!"

Hikari smiles, "I'm pretty good at Acrobatics personally!"

He chuckles mocking a gravelly voice, "Now Danial-San..show me wax-on, wax-off..!"

Jacob laughs.  My parents wanted to have a baby.  When they decided it was time, they tried, with a couple of failures, miscarriages, along the way..  And eventually, they conceived.  He holds his hands in such way that he indicates his own smiling face.  Me.  So, I would say that I was deliberately constructed from the building blocks of life, one set provided by my father and combined with a set provided by my mother.  It seems to me that I was deliberately constructed.  The urge to procreate is a very powerful thing amongst flesh-and-blood creatures.  So, even those unintentionally conceived could be considered deliberately constructed.
He muses on WH's stated intentions.  Finally, he speaks again.  Do you eat?  Drink?  Breathe?  For nourishment?  Do you urinate?  Defecate?  For disposal of unneeded materials.  Do you sweat to cool off?  Do you feel fatigue?  Do you sleep?   Do you dream?  Do you feel discomfort?
Pain?  Do you feel anger?  Pride?  Joy?  Sorrow?  Hatred?  Love?  Do you like this place?  Do you dislike it?  Do you know suffering?  Does other people suffering bother you?  Does it hurt you to see?

Bellissima's eyebrows raised above her glasses as she got a feel for Hikari's maind, it was a lot more organized then anyone she had scanned before.  She could sense the multitasking that he was doing, something that only a small percentage of human's could do and something she had never been able to scan before. What was slightly unnerving was the something hidden and slightly unnatural just below the young man's thoughts.  He was hiding something, although nothing in relation to what they were talking about, or so it seemed to her.  She kept her focus on what he was thinking about her questions, until otherwise proven, she would assume that what he was trying to hide was private and unrelated to the current circumstances.

"I am not real comfortable accepting such a huge gift, because what you are proposing sounds expensive," Bellissime frowned as she thought about the expense, "but I also recognize the necessity and as long as you can afford it without problems, I will accept it," the brunette sighed acceptingly of the expensive offer. "I prefer my outfit to remain simple, something that could easily pass for normal civilian wear, although the hands free communications will be very useful."

"Good, when do you expect to be able to send the gem off?" She telepathically asked as a follow up to Hikari's responses to her questions as she relaxed slightly. From the thoughts she picked up about the containment vessel, it was better than anything she could think of and it was progressing quickly. With no one apparently having said anything about the gem to anyone in authority, they had some time before it became serious.

She got a couple of seconds warning to his subject change since she was reading his thoughts and quickly came up with a different reason on why she wanted to talk to him about the report of San Sebastian Island. "Yes, have you heard about the status of Winter Herald?  Last I heard he was talking with Lt Broyko.  I was too exhausted yesterday to do more than to file my barebones report."

Winter Herald felt the need to perhaps discourage too far of a push. "This tech is not designed for organics in its current state, and effects on your physiology are unknown. I can only confirm its function on my synthetic tissue. Focus on short term development and known applications. Even the repair of old buildings, bridges, vehicles, and highways would be revolutionary. Although using it for trash disposal is admittedly under consensus right now, leaning towards a positive suggestion. To make nearly anything recyclable is not much of a push from its current function."

He glanced at the screen with the data of his internals on it. "To learn merely requires my existing programming to invest prioritization into the subject matter. Learning biological sciences as a result of my drive to understand the world I am in was also an expansion of combative protocols, but in learning it, my consensus will now also prioritize subjects related to biology and perhaps science in general."

"Given time, I can learn anything, much as any organic can, but all such data has to be an expansion of my existing programming, or else consensus will almost certainly reject the new programming as hostile. A download simply speeds the process up. Also understand what I want the joint upgrades for - it is selfish and perhaps absurd, but I wish to emulate sitting down without the need to stress test every chair for my weight. Both software and hardware are required to execute this task."

"I am willing to try your suggestion. I am curious about how quickly I can learn. Also, please do not forget to close the synthskin damage, if you can."

Winter Herald shook his head. "I meant the specifics of your creation. The characteristics you possess are not designed. I suspect most parents would create children capable of sophisticated communication from birth, among other traits. This is not the case."

He considered the rest of the questions. "That is many questions, and I will attempt to answer them briefly in order. No, no, no, no, no, no, I sweat because organics do, no, I do power down, not as you understand it, I understand discomfort as data, I understand pain as data, I understand anger as inequity, no, I understand joy as attachment, I understand sorrow as review, hatred seems synonymous with anger, love seems synonymous with joy, your office is fine, no, I understand suffering, yes, and I'm assuming you mean seeing suffering, so yes."

Hikari ponders for a few seconds, "Ok, I think the helmet design I worked on for Crusader would provide you exactly the features your liking.  Of course I can stylize it anyway you choose.  Don't worry it will be durable! I can probably, considering your strength, add a 10 to 20 minute air supply without too much trouble.  It would only be an emergency measure but you never know when it could be very handy!"

"I've spoken with a few other teammates already about costume upgrades.  A good amount of the gear we have from LESP is plenty sufficient.. I'd just be integrating it into a hands free use integral to everyone's chosen costume style.  I'll ask to see if any more are interested."

Hikari outwardly chuckled, "Oh the entire package upgrade should not be more than about 7 to 8 grand per member and there are only two members who wear masks ~ Maharajah and you.  That's insignificant to my finances.  Crusader I've already built her and upgraded helmet and CMZ who I still need to speak to..but since he's invulnerable.. he really only needs protection for his electronic gear. Lite Star clearly doesn't need such upgrades and neither does Goliat with his alien tech."

He shakes his head, "It will be exactly as your style demands.. it will look just as you like it to."

Pulling out his Touch screen he flips through a few files and brings up a listing of upgrades he's been planning, "Most of the free LESP Team gear is sufficient... but I intend to integrate those devices for a hands free use built-in to your costume..."

His thoughts came with very precise mental images of his intentions and all rang with true ~ no deception or falsehood, though the buzzing of his mental calculations continued in the background.

He turned his mirrored sunglasses gaze toward the LESP HQ building front, "..no not as yet. I was there when the ...discussion about his personage started. The Detective, Lt Broyko, he forestalled Winter's further involvement in the debate and wanted to speak to him in private.  I did not hear the rest of the debate between CMZ and Crusader.  Been in my lab or bed ever since.  The Justicar is down for a bit getting some upgrades done... but not for long, which is why I'm in civis right now."

Hikari nods in agreement with Winter's assessment of the need to continue proper testing before nano-machines were used in living beings... at least the ones used by FORCE Repair kits.

He listens to the details of Winter's learning capabilities with wonder...

"I will have to do some detailed examination of the scans of your leg units to design and run some model tests for the joint improvements you want.  You are looking for precision balancing based upon your unmodified gyros for such things.  I'll need to run some model tests to make sure I get the measuring tolerances correct so as not to affect, at the same time, your combat gross motor skills and combat maneuverability with the replacements I install. Best to know all that before we do any major modifications."

"Yes, I can repair the damaged synthskin, but I might not get the skin tone perfectly matched... I do not use this sort of camouflage for my robotic creations so I have a limited supply and variety in my chemical stores.  We can always replace the patched synthskin later for a better tone match..."

He chuckles a bit.  I have toadmit to really liking my yellow-and-black tracksuit.  It was kind of an homage to Bruce Lee and the Kill Bill movies.  You know, if I was seven feet tall, we could go with fuzzy trunks, a bandoleer, and a crossbow.  He laughs at the reference and image.  Some jackass once called me "Harry and the Hendersons".  I laughed and told him I loved that movie.
He looks thoughtfully a moment.  Since a helmet isn't breally a part of my image, is there a way it could be incorporated into a head band, maybe a collar?  Something less obvious.  People trust seeing my face, and suddenly wearing a helmet might cause a loss of some of that trust.  You, Crusader, Litestar, you guys can do the helmet because that is what people are used to, But I'm the face of the LESP.

I agree that my physical characteristics were not planned, specifically.  In my case, they were a lot more random than usual.  But, that does not make my construction any less deliberate.  Normally, the physical characteristcs of a human during the "design" process are pretty limited, based upon the characteristics of the parents, and the "blueprints" they carry.  Each individual is a combination of both parents' genetics, which happen to be pretty diverse thanks to thousands of generations of breeding.  But, much of it is consistent, he advises.  I could discuss biology all day, but, that is not what I wanted to see you about.  Primarily, what this is about is your being declared a living entity, with full rights.  It's going to be a drawn out court case, but there is plenty of precedent for it, as several artificial lifeforms exist that claim citizenship in different nations.
He nods his head in regard to the answers given to his questions.  Having not experienced those things, you would have a hard time teaching others how to overcome their limitations and to live up to their potential.  Not just because of your ownnlack of experience, but because people will have a difficult time listening to you because of your being artificial lifeform.  They will see you as being stuck within your own programming, just as Crusader does.  Believe me, I can understand having to deal with that kind of prejudice.
He sits down and indicates a seat in front of the desk.  Whatever you weight, the chair is reinforced.  I've dealt with some pretty heavy individuals.  Part of the reason my office is on the ground floor.  That and the higher ceilings.  He indicates the perches and places to hang attached to the walls, and that is when the eight spidermonkeys can be seen peeking out from around them.
He continues with his previous track.  Those questions to which you answered, "No."  Those are your limitations that you need to overcome.   Noticing pressure differentials is also a limitation.  If you can learn to feel pain and discomfort, to figure out emotions, that will also make your case as a life form go easier.  That you have already started to understand humor and sarcasm, those are a very good beginning.  Some humans have trouble with thaose.

His consensus had managed to interject with one new conclusion. Winter Herald acknowledged that the answer to the 'pride' question earlier was in debate. He certainly possessed ego, otherwise, he would have simply accepted this judgement and abandoned his goals.

He sat down, and tilted his head to the side. "I don't understand. A person can help another learn to walk again without the need to experience their spine shattering, just as one can train an Olympic class athlete without winning a single medal themselves. And if it is simply because 'I, robot,' the solution to that is obvious. I don't need to bring up what I am. My synthskin serves a purpose beyond making me beautiful to organic eyes."

"And I don't eat, or do those other things, because they serve no purpose beyond feigning humanity. It will take some time before I am willing to request those upgrades, because cleaning and disposal are concerns. And I do feel pain. Just not like others."

He considered how to explain this, as consensus warred over exactly how logical his emotion and neuroware simulation programming actually was. "Pain, as I understand it, means my synthskin or another part of my frame is being stressed somehow, and I should pay some attention to it when practical to do so. I don't have neuroware or wetware commanding additional actions that organics often do. I don't scream, break down, enter a fetal position, or faint, unless I am doing so to maintain a cover. I simply deal with the problem, and I fail to see how experiencing any of those adverse effects would make me better at anything except deception. Likewise, my emotions, as I understand them, have no additional compulsions to them. No dopamine, endorphins, or similar chemicals are deployed by my internal chemistry demanding action. Only programs, the equivalent of neuroware, and they are simply a logical processing of the situation."

She looked over the list that Hikari was showing her, nodding as she gathered all the information at a seeming glance before looking back up at the young man. "All of that sounds good to me," she said, "I like to keep my current theme and style. Having some armor on will be nice, I can generate a TK shield that can block bullets, but I have to see things coming."

She was impressed about how well Hikari was maintaining his focus and making his thoughts clear and coherent for her to read.  It was harder for her to send messages than it was to read surface thoughts, so she was still making sure to keep her responses short, "Good, sounds like a plan."  She paused before sending a second response, "The mercenaries also heard what you told Winter Heart," she reminded Hikari as she listened to what he was saying about Winter Heart.  "If you need backup, just ask."

"Really?  His self-awareness was being questioned?" She shook her head in disbelief, "He might be a security risk, but his self-awareness shouldn't be in doubt."  She nodded in agreement about resting, "Yeah, that mission was long and tiring. I am surprised that anyone had energy to argue at the end. I hope your upgrades go well, I need to get back home and get more rest. Still have some recovering to do."   Shaking her head in resignation, "I am expecting to be asked to scan people to see if anyone else is a robot soon."

Hikari kind of smirked, "Well I did not really envision a fully enclosing helmet, 'Saiyan-Man' style.. more like a kind of very durable headset with a clear plastic visor that can be lowered or raised as desired for the optics to be projected on and an attached chinguard for the gas mask, radio communications, and a small air supply in the cheeks of the headset.  But I could easily do a visor-headband affair with a neckpiece that could be raised when you want to use the gas mask or air supply.  You don't have to worry everyone would always be able to see your face."

Hikari shook his head, "It's only a possible mismatch... I'm sure I can get it close ...even if it look like slight birth mark.  Just letting you know it might not be 'perfect'."

Hikari shrugs, "..bio-synthetics is not my specialty.  I'm only familiar with the synthetic flesh for robotics cosmetics. Perhaps your bio-studies will provide eventual understanding for you?"

but he said, "'Karl' has the upgrades on the Justicar Mk III well in hand progressing along with other projects apace.  Time is at a premium commodity I never seem to have enough of."

He then pinches the bridge of his nose tiredly, "... I need rest too.  Strain on my nervous system builds.. using the telemental controls of my suit too long."

Bellissima knows what he just said was a half-truth... the closest he has come to telling her a falsehood... but clearly the mental calculations he is concentrating on are becoming slower and less complicated .. fatigue is building.  He IS weary.. but there is likely another cause he is concealing.

Looking up he meet her gaze, "I should turn in my mission report and get back to wo~...well get to bed eventually."

He offered her the touch screen tablet, "Would you be kind to turn in my Mission Report for the San Sebastian Operation?  It would save me a few steps..."

Winter Herald considered this idea briefly. "Maybe. My biological knowledge is highly generalized. Focusing on scientific issues is secondary to my primary function as a agent for your team. I have a feeling, however, that FORCE's technological path is not that of Earth. The technological leaps and required secondary functions to make me function as I am are beyond anything my memory claims is native to this world, save perhaps your Karl unit. I am curious about his blind spots - what leaps in technology that your world takes for granted were skipped or lost as his technological path advanced? And how much of his own technology does he understand?"

As the scan went on, he spoke again. "I have a theory as to why I actually care about life in general. It's only a theory, one which might get tested later, but it relates directly to my purpose as an infiltrator. They wished for me to possess charm, but at the same time, FORCE mentioned he intended for me to lead, which matches the officer capabilities I possess. To do both requires me to be capable of reading people's emotions. I possess empathy as a requirement to execute my functions. I believe I exceeded expectations."

Bellissima nodded in agreement as she sent telepathically, "Right and there never is." She rubbed the side of her temples as she felt the strain of maintaining the telepathic contact from the overstrain of the last day.  She caught the half-truth, but people were allowed to have secrets, as long as they didn't put others at risk and she can feel that maintain his focus was creating a strain on him.

"Sure, I am going that way to turn in my report as well, go get some rest before your errand." Bellissima agreed to deliver Justicar's report in when she turned in her report.  She pulled up her mask to cover her lower face as she tucked the datapad under her arm.

Hikari studies the resolving screen schematic of Winter Herald's robotic body as the scan completes.  Manipulating the image scan he creates an exploded-view  schematic of specifically Winter Herald's leg-joints and knee assembly.

"Ok, you can get off the scan table I have what I need now."

Hikari continues to manipulate the schematic image going into a computer diagnostic mode as every piece and part is measured for precise to the millimeter measurements.  He regards the gearing and ratios in the knee and ankle joints.

He begins adjusting the image with some custom changes and then runs some computer simulated tests on the design changes..

Still working on computer tests he comments, "...this will take a little bit of time to get the precision control and positioning your seeking.  Running stress tests and building a couple test models to make sure the right material composites are used in the gearing and not grind down too quickly will be the next steps.  Give me a couple of days to run some tests then I can run off the parts and see about replacing your current servo joints with the upgraded precision joints."

"Is my objective incorrect?" Winter Herald was listening, and learning. "I assumed I would need locking joints, but I will admit to not being as knowledgeable in my own makeup as I am in organic makeup. I suspect this was deliberate - if I was captured, the knowledge for how to create me and our weak points, such as they are, would not be exposed."

"If I require only improved master of my own coordination to not crush a dining room chair underneath my metallic derriere, then this is excellent news. That may be as simple as a software upgrade, depending on how well constructed I am."

Hikari turns from his design screen to regard Winter, "Oh?  Well as ... well as an engineer there are usually several ways to approach a desired engineering result.  I thought you wants to be able to balance yourself to allow your internal gyros the ability to make continuous micro-adjustments to your center of balance to 'look-like' your siting on a target piece of furniture without actually resting your weight upon a potentially insufficient load-bearing object.  To add to this you also wanted to be able to perform acrobatics like a gymnast.  These precision joints would be an approach to achieving both goals."

He pondered, "Locking joints could work... but you would have to make sure you have your balance first before locking in position... in addition to restricting your upper torso to making no wild motions that would unbalance you and 'tip' you over.  But locking Joints can be easily installed to your current leg joints without any real redesign."

"I have your leg servo component measurements, it should be no problem to run off on my 3D-printer the needed parts.  Give me an hour to prepare.. I can install them today."

Hikari turns back to his design screen and begins typing rapidly, the the image shifts to and explosion-schematic view of Winter's hips and legs zooming into the target locations of what parts will need to be replaced with the proper locking join upgrades.

Still working on the screen and focusing on the custom parts needed for the leg joint upgrades Hikari comments, "..I've also gotten a clear schematic view of your brain housing as well, very fascinating! Its a positronic brain, technically, smaller than I would expect. There is an electromagnetic containment unit connected to the positronic brain, with the brain actually connecting to the rest of your android body. I am glad to inform you.. and hopefully put some of your concerns to rest ~ there is no receiver attached to the containment unit."

Hikari opens a second screen to display the scans of Winter's positronic brain and the electromagnetic containment unit.  There is NO Explosion-view schematic of his positronic brain indicating NO deeper scan of its components.

He turns to meet Winter's electronic eyes, "You ARE a person.. Your OWN person ~ Winter! I suspect your sentience must be some form of anomaly. I did not want to risk my scans influencing whatever allowed or occurred to make you self-aware so I did no deep scan of your positroic brain components. You ARE self-aware, something NOT designed by FORCE. You ARE alive and a Precious Wonder!  Never forget that!"

Bellissima has a message sent to Winter Herald with a request to meet her at the LESP HQ.  she has an experiment that she needed his help with.  During the San Sebastian mission, she was hearing static when she scanned him before she realized he was an android.  That static got her thinking that maybe she could contact computers.  Theoretically the human brain used electricity to transmit messages between neurons, although the electricity was chemical induced instead of mechanically.  Maybe with Winter Herald's willing help she could figure out  how to get in touch with computers.

When she got to the HQ, she went through the lobby, nodding at various officers that she knew, checking to see if there was any messages for her as she moved toward the conference room she had reserved for her and Winter.

Winter Herald did smile at that news. "I intend to ensure I'm fine, but this is a good start. It means I was not activated simply to be destroyed, and it means I can learn with far less restraint. The lack of 'fear' will increase my defenses against future 'fear.'

The revelation that Hikari believed him an accident gave him pause, as his grey eyes attempted to make sense of the screen and his diagnostics. It was all Greek to him, and he was wishing it was Latin. "He's close to figuring it out, but it is good to know that as the third of my series, he had not figured it out intentionally. I can only hope the notes of my creation were lost. If he could create beings such as myself and somehow control them, the results in the short term would be quite frightening. In the long term, I suspect more atavistic versions of myself would resent being chained to a madman, and would seek his replacement with a more efficient master."

Winter Herald had made it clear he was going to be there, and he was wearing the standard issue clothes from the HQ. His cosmetic damage had been repaired by this point, and he was getting used to the new joints Hikari had given him still. A few "growing pains" as it was.

He didn't have much to add to anyone here, although he did stop by the board. Two, no, three new people - Runa, the one he had wondered about; Senor Garcia, whom he was still collecting data about; and Snowblind, who was almost certainly going to betray them for a second paycheck the moment it was convenient to do so. He figured the team was vetting the other two, but Snowblind was Hikari's project.

Future project - confirm or deny if Snowblind has been contacted by FORCE agents, then offer them a job as a double agent either way. Once recruited for that cause, defend their reputation. Do not expose them, and discourage their exposure.

"Greetings, Bellissima." Winter Herald shot a hand up, and ensured his voice would cut through the sounds of activity. He was learning to get used to the sounds of the city, but he still didn't like it. He placed a hand on the back of his head, not sure what was going on. "I know your plan. At least, I think I do. Is this some kind of evolution with you, me, or both?"

His consensus was warring with him both to say more and less at the same time.

The rest of the interview and orientation with Detective Broyko went quickly and smoothly. Lilibeth left that first day and returned to her apartment in a state of mild shock. She had actually done it; become a superhero. Not exactly the career she had pictured herself in when she left Active Duty. "But it could be fun and this will let me help people, more so than singing or acting could have," she thought to herself.

The next day she reported in and looked for Justicar. She wanted to get herself and Runa fitted as son as possible so they would be ready if they were called up for a mission. After that would be seeing Bellissima. The beautiful mind mage said she wanted to be able to speak to Runa. "She doesn't trust you or me, that's why. Nor should she, she doesn't know us," Runa stated in their mind. "Maybe but it could just be she wants to know you. You are mysterious right now. Besides teammates shouldn't keep big secrets. Everything comes out eventually anyways." "We will see."

Crusader answered after her work shift. "Jeez really? Every hour? If you ever want a girlfriend you gotta seem less desperate." While there is humor in her voice, she is clearly trying to make a pont. "How long will it take you to explain? I prefer someplace neutral, perhaps the roof of a parking garage?"

He nods.  That sounds like it could work.  It would just snap on and off, then?

Hikari 'shrugged', "No reason not to install the upgraded locking joints which I can do now.  I still need a couple days of modeling tests to get the precision gearing for your legs so your balancing gyros can take advantage of that precision ~ then fabricate the parts needed. Never hurts to better yourself even in minor ways, lets get those locking joints installed."

With that he nodded and got to work on the installation preparations...

Shorter than expected Hikari got things ready for installation in only 35 minutes.  He had Winter follow him into the workshop proper where many robotic utility arms were in motion on various existing construction efforts.  He took Winter to a work bench and had him recline upon it.

Hikari took up position as a workstation and stool maneuvering the display screen so Winter could see everything he was going to do. First he had Winter remove his pants, then a laser scanner measured his legs to get their physical location in the workspace. The screen displayed his current location and super imposed the virtual engineering display of the replacement parts.  Then a visual depiction of his legs real-time was displayed and precision plot lines were marked on the image of his legs where the laser cuts to peel his syntheskin away but not destroy it were marked to gain access to the mechanical legs beneath.

Then Hikari got to work personally with utility arms that unfolded from the workbench to first to spray the syntheskin with a preservative then precision laser cut the synthetic flesh away with as little damage to it a possible. Then the arms quickly began to disassemble Winter's leg units partially.  Wasting no time the new 3D printed component parts for the locking joints... fresh off the vertical-mill finishing process were positioned in the workspace and just as efficiently installed.

Hikari paused to personally inspect Winter's legs to test and measure the tolerances by hand and visual inspection.

Satisfied he returned to the work station and began the surgical wrapping of the peeled sytheskin to cover the legs again.  Bio-degradable adhesives were used to bandage the cuts in the sytheskin with a sealing agent that would promote re-knitting of the sythneskin naturally.  Though strangely precise cut scars might be left in the syntheskin but not unsightly so.  The whole operation took about 45 minutes.

Hikari smiled, "There, that should give you the locking joint capability for two leg limbs. You legs may be a little stiff until the locking mechanism are worn smooth ... kind of like new brakes on a car.. they will seat themselves eventually."

"Ah.. you wish to do the scans for a costume fitting... very well.  Wait here I'll be right back.  Need to retrieve your standard issued gear for you."

I'd assume you wear your tactical mask under your current helm, but I'm flexible."

Lilibeth had arrived early for the fitting, not wanting to keep her teammates, who were undoubtedly busy with much more important things, waiting on her, the FNG. When Justicar arrived, she greeted him exactly as she had yesterday; with a brief but warm hug. Today Justicar finds her wearing not a sky blue sundress but in low-rise blue jeans, a black long sleeve crop top and matching choker, and black, two inch heel boots. "Good morning Justicar! Thank you for bringing me all of this." She takes the items and places them in a backpack she had clearly brought with her.

When she is finished with that she turns around to face him again. "Right so time to for scanning, you said I don't have to take off my clothes but do you need me to hold out my arms or anything?"

As Winter Herald entered the room, Bellissima turned to face him, immediately noticing the difference in his walking. "Hello, Winter Herald.  You are walking better now, did you have damage when we met before?" She asked curiously as she returned his wave.  She had a degree in biophysics, she knew movement.

"And this is mainly an evolution for me, although maybe I will learn something that might help you as well, but no guarantees there."  She paused as she considered the android before her and decided that she didn't need to offer him a chair considering what she had seen of his actions on the ship, "I am hoping to figure out how to mentally contact electronics," she explained as she relaxed into a chair.  "In theory it should be a possibility, but as theory and reality sometimes don't agree." She smiled and shrugged nonchalantly. "What I would like you to do is relax and start thinking of something, whatever you want and while you are doing that, I will be trying to hear your thought process, like I do with organic minds. Of course anything I learn I will share with you."

She paused as she looked at Winter Herald, "Do you have any questions or request before we start?"  Usually Bellissima would be wearing a lower face mask and sunglasses, today she was only wearing very large sunglasses to disguise her face from casual identification.

Bellissima saw Runa's message about meeting during one of her breaks from meditation.  She still had a headache, but her curiosity was nagging at her.  She quickly replied with a time estimate on when she would arrive.

After a quick shower she dressed in a pair of light blue jeans with a loose white crop top that ended about two inches above her belly button and long loose sleeves with running shoes.  A quick drive to LESP headquarters and donning a pair of large sunglasses to cover up her eyes and eyebrows. As she was walking up toward the building, her sixth sense didn't warn her of any camera's being pointed at her.

As she walked through the building looking for Runa and/or Justicar, observant people will notice her flinching slightly at loud noises as she moved carefully, like someone who had partied too hard the other night.  Finding out where Lillibeth and Justicar was, she moved to the room they were using and knocked lightly to give them notice before she opened the door and joined them.  "Hello Lillibeth and Justicar, how are you doing this morning?" SHe asked politely as she had walked in on Lillibeth asking how Justicar wanted to scan her.

She leaned against a wall as she telepathically sent to Justicar, "Was packaged delivered successfully?"  Justicar had planned to hide the ring yesterday, she
was hoping nothing had come up to delay him.  "Any time you are ready, Lillibeth, I can try to listen in to a conversation between you and Runa. Then I will try to send a message to Runa. I will not read your mind until you are ready."  With careful observation, a person could notice the strain lines along her forehead as she held off her headache, it was mostly gone but she still wasn't fully recovered yet, maybe another day of rest. But there was also a large hint of someone looking forward to solving a curiosity they had.  "You can keep doing what you are doing now, it will be just like having a conversation."

When Bellissima entered the room, Lilibeth smiled at her. She hoped to maybe be an actress one day and she knew looks weren't all that mattered but she wished she looked even half as good as the stunning beauty. "Hello! You look amazing!" she told the other woman and moved to offer her a hug in greeting. It was only then that Lilibeth noticed the strain on her face. Lilibeth's smile turned into a frown. "Are you alright? We don't have to do this right now. I can ask Runa to come out later."

Lilibeth's innate desire to help people, not to mention her medical training, came to the forefront. Yes she hadn't known her new teammates longer than a day but they were people and that was the only qualification Lilibeth needed to want to help someone. "Are you going to offer her some of that concoction? That vitamin M? Or I could come out, demonstrate the healing power Ishtar has blessed you with." Runa asked in her mind.

Winter Herald paused at those words. They were... well structured, and they cut to something his consensus was overlooking. Or overriding, rather.

"That is a sound point. I will increase the value of that idea in the consensus. For now, the desired profession will continue to be debated." He had a question for Jacob suddenly. "Why did you wish to speak with me? I'm getting the impression this is not about PR. Or at least, that is a secondary goal for you. You want to know something about me, but you cannot ask me directly for some reason, and you may not wish for me to be aware of what you have learned."

"I had an operation, so that I can actually sit in a normal chair now. Well, I have half of what I require, anyways. I might be able to do it right now. Coordination and stealth protocols might be enough. I am willing to test this, once I get used to the new weight. There are many, many subroutines that still need mild adjustment." Winter Herald smiled. "I have my 'thoughts' such as they are. I hope you like practical arithmetic."

His thoughts began focusing on a topic he had already covered, but it was a reassessment of his ability to sword-fight with the new upgrades. Multiple strike patterns and footwear within numerous circles made themselves clear. Fighting patterns and footwork routines described as "4, 1, 6" and "5, 7, 2"; simulations against singular foes, multiple foes, it was clear that he had expanded significantly upon his original swordsmanship from his base programming. Slight adjustments were made with the new joints in mind, subtle but sublime.

There was also a oddly pleasant thought that he understood something many did not: that math could be weaponized.

Justicar smiles at Lilibeth again eyes going wide at the hugging, his mind idly glad his suit was solid enough to not transfer too much of her womanly softness to his conscious mind or he'd be blushing again hotter than a scalded beet. Even still his cheek colored briefly at her closeness, awkwardly accepting the embrace.  Hikari was himself 5'10", but in his Justicar armor he stood 6'2"... towering over the petite Lilibeth.

"Uhm, yeah.. it was no trouble and er Good morning to you as well!"

"Oh, NO..no need to er... get undressed!  The scanner uses a laser for precision scan but it can harmlessly penetrate..uhm.. clothing for an accurate scan and measurements.  Yes, holding out your arms level with your shoulders would make the scanning process easier."

Justicar regard the approach of Belissima, and he turned to greet her in return, "G-Good morning Bellissima, I'm well rested today... have you been able to recover your inner strength as well?"

Hikari tried his best not to gawk at the two lovely women seeking his company... he felt distinctly 'overdressed' in his Battlesuit... especially with the enticing clothing both women were .. kind of clad in?  Perhaps it was best he was in a battlesuit? He quickly decided to focus on the purpose of this meeting  so he could flee back to lab work and investigating the current case for LESP.

{Clean thoughts Hikari.. she CAN read minds fool!}

Bellissima's direct telepathic question startled him and he quickly began doing theoretical Force Field Physics calculations in his head to focus his thoughts away from inappropriate mental musings... and hidden secrets he must maintain.

Again Bellissima noticed the precision and clarity of his thoughts... though there was clearly some emotional static bleeding into his ordered consciousness... it was not hard to notice Hikari was aroused by the twin beauty before him... but he was making a heroic effort not to show it and be professional at the same time.  But he IS a teenager though, sometimes, it is easy to forget.  Youthful Hormones and Desires are a fight even Hikari is hard pressed to win against.  Yet still his thoughts can in an unnatural clarity, {Yes, the package was delivered at 11:25:34 PM last night. No one witnessed my arrival, the burial, or my egress.}

With that the a panel on his armored helmet began to glow but there was nothing else indicating anything was happening...

Noting her potential confusion, "The laser scanning beam is invisible to normal sight... it is a UV frequency. This will only take a minute or so."

Lilibeth, as before, seemed oblivious to Justicar's reactions to her and Bellissima. She held out her arms away from her body and remained as still as she could until the young tech genius told her she could move. She found it difficult, not holding still but refraining from chatting because she felt certain that would count as movement. In fact she even held her breath for fear of her chest movement disrupting his scanner.

Crusader said, "Midstreet Parking Garage, Rooftop, one hour from now." The call ended as she pushed the appropriate button on her steering wheel.

An hour later she pulled up onto the roof of the correct garage. She went high speed at a parked car and executed a J turn, which slid her perfectly into a parking space facing out. The engine groaned as she turned it off. She stepped out, indeed wearing her tactical naval mask and holding her old helmet under her arm.

Crusader arrives and shortly she hears the rumble of a racing bike coming up the parking garage levels to the roof.  A... very much souped up racing bike. A red GSX 1300R - Suzuki Hayabusa decorated with many racing logos stickers and decorative art arrives. The bike is indeed modified its forks and tires were much more robust than strictly needed and the bike was a little longer then street legal 'racing' bikes.



Riding it is a youth dressed in Black and Red-slashed, racing leathers ~ Jacket, pants, biker boots, gloves with red racing helmet and mirrored shades.  His leather biker jacket is open revealing a very colorful Anime' Shirt of Gundam Double Zero Mecha prominent on the T-shirt underneath.

He looks like some young Japanese Bōsōzoku 'Go-Gang' Biker punk!

But the distinctive Crusader helmet with mirrored visor is slung on a carry strap to the rear of the bike gives away this is Hikari.  He drives up giving her a thumbs up before removing his red Sazabi-Mecha decorated helmet.

Hikari runs his gloved fingers through the mop of his wild bleached almost platinum blonde hair, "Hey Crusader, I figured you'd want discrete.. and silver and blue, cloaked, weapon-bristling, Rocket powered Justicar is NOT subtle.. so civis. No one pays attention to biker punks."

"Congrats, Winter Herald, glad you are getting more flexibility," Bellissima congratulates the android on getting more movement.  She got comfortable and nodded at Winter Herald, "When you are ready," Bellissima waited for Winter's nod and then she closed her eyes reached out with her powers, feeling the buzzing coming from Winter Herald as she twisted her head this way and that unconsciously as she looked for something only she could see.

A frown crossed her face as she focused in harder, 5 minutes pass, then 10 minutes as she searches as Winter Herald ran his calculations. The buzzing was getting louder, she was getting closer, she seemed to be sensing numbers, but right now they seemed like random numbers. She pushed forward harder, getting closer to the numbers, every moment she was getting closer.  Unknownst to her, her body was glistening with sweat as she pushed forward harder, her hand unconsciously reached out and touched Winter Herald's arm and suddenly the numbers rushed into her head.  she saw in her head the numbers that Winter Herald was running, before she could pull back, she was suddenly understood how his body worked, she could read his programming with complete understanding, complete understanding of his body as well.

"I see and hear you Winter Herald... all of you," Bellissima spoke into the android's mind directly as she was taking in all the information she know had on Winter.  "I know everything about you right now."  There was wonder in Bellissima's voice as she was knowing everything about Winter Herald. "I can look for override and self-destruction codes if you wish?"

Bellissima smiled in thanks and returned Lillibeth's hug and shook her head, "No, I am fine.  I have healed all physical harm that I did myself, just drained at the moment, Lillibeth.  Thanks for the offer, but it isn't needed at the moment.  Just need to rest a bit more.  And I would definitely like to do this now, I was getting bored of resting," Bellissima smirked and shrugged.

Bellissima paused for a moment in thought, "It is kinda like running with a full pack for 2 days straight with zero rest, but packed into two hours of activity. I just need to rest and let my energy reserves build back up.  The migraine I gave myself is mostly gone, just have a minor headache at the moment, which is why I am leaving my glasses on, light is still a bit painful on the eyes." She looked toward Hikari, "I estimate I have to meditate for at least another 10 hours, or sleep/rest for another 30 hours, before I have recovered all my inner strength."

Bellissima noticed the random thoughts Hikari was having about her and Lillibeth and him suppressing them like a gentleman, so she pretended that she didn't notice the random sexual thoughts as she replied telepathically to his update, "Good, thanks for that.  I feel better with it safely hidden."   She was watching Justicar scanning Lillibeth's body and out of curiosity, she allowed herself to see the invisible
to watch as the UV beam played across Lillibeth's body.

As soon as Justicar was finished scanning, Bellissima looked at Lillibeth, "Ready for me to try hearing and talking to Runa while she is inside of you?"

Winter Herald's "thoughts" such as they were, had a lot of radials and circles to them, constantly branching options for how to think and react to the world. In this case, fear had come up, and quickly been argued against on the grounds that they knew exactly the range of actions Bellissma could take, and that was unworthy of fear. Not that I can stop you if you choose. You could literally decide I am better as a domestic unit, or order me to tear my own head off and kick it into the bay. I believe I would survive either state, too, although the latter would knock many of my sensor systems offline, and the former would not make me more proficient at domestic action, merely inclined to learn it. But you can see that for yourself.

There was one hint of fear, quickly eliminated as that card was revealed on the table as well. Ah, the incentive to perhaps rewrite me, should you take it. I wouldn't even be capable of resenting it, unless you programmed that in for whatever reason.

His opinions on the team, and what he had been learning about them on the side came up. He had spent much of his spare time, when not learning the limits of his hardware and software, trying both to track FORCE down and study the Sentinels themselves, the latter to the point he felt confident he could attempt a security test on them at any point and they would likely fail his standards. He was trying to figure out how to close that breach himself, while warring with himself to leave a back door just in case.

He had a file on everyone, too, both what he thought of them, and the hypothetical of how to deal with each of them in turn if they went rogue from the ideals they seemed to be professing, still forming and pending due to comparatively little information on each of them. Most organics do not seem to appreciate a detailed file on them positing how to subdue or destroy them, even though I would be surprised if Crusader had not formed one for me. I did not expect this extensive of a reading, although in my own way, I am grateful for it. We will discover what I am and am not, if nothing else, in this potential last moment I am myself. Or at least, someone else will know.

Bellissma's own file was undergoing current editing and revision, and actually had a prior revision dated to the time Justicar revealed data on FORCE at the station. Naturally, her file was at the forefront, if she sought to know more.

He looks thoughtfully a moment.  Honestly, I can't say I expect any covering I wear over my face to last long in a fight.  No matter how it's made.I usually tend to get into the worst part of any fight.  I mean, I took grenades and machinegun hits back on San Sebastion Island.  Go with whatever you think will be strongest.

Hikari nods and pulls out his touch-screen padd and does some typing then hands it to Jacob, "..so this is what I propose to craft for your use.  More expensive than the standard Sentinel costume upgrades but easily affordable within my budget. Anything you would like changed?"

As Justicar scanned Lilibeth, Bellissiam sensed his surface emotions and the unusual clarity and order of his thoughts...   ... but  then she realized.. they were not unusual she had sensed something similar before recently ~ from Winter Herald!  She could NOW identify the strange clarity of Hikari's mind... somehow.. Hikari had computer machines within his body merged with his mind in some strange fashion.  That was the only way to describe it; the impression was quite clear now!  But to get specifics a more invasive 'scan' would be needed with telemechanics...

Justicar paused ~ and raised his visor, "Scan complete, Lilibeth.  I should be able to run off a costume of any styling you would prefer in a day or two. Now you mentioned that when.. Runa manifests ..she has her own ..er..attire and she is {ahem}.. larger than you?  I'll.. aheh.. need her measurements as well if I'm to make the costume flexibility and styling to her liking as I assume she will be the form you take in battle?"

Reaching into a compartment in Justicar's waist Hikari retrieves a touch-screen padd and handed it to Lilibeth..

"This will basically be the integrated abilities and field gear of your completed costume..."

She whistled in appreciation. "Nice bike. I prefer black, but red is a color." She swooped in to get a closer look.

While looking over his bike she mused, "Women don't care for men who are or even seem desperate. We want men who makes us feel desperate. Does that make sense? Take it as advice."

She stood up and handed him her old helmet, "Any news on that jumper?"

The young mixed-Japanese/German shrugs and gets a somewhat somber expression, "To be honest.. I'm not that.. good with being social with people and even less with ... er girls.  My family.. both my parents actually were rich... fabulously so. But my dad died, potentially murdered, when I was 6.  My mom was and still is... distant from that point on with work and other distractions as one of the handful of female Japanese CEOs in Japan.  And when I became a teen ~ We don't see eye to eye on things.  So a lot of private schools and time alone in big expensive estates... cause when you have money.. always a risk of someone trying to take it from you by threatening those in your family.  Lots of private tutors.  And when you have a IQ of 190 at age 10... you don't see the world in the same way as others.  Took a long time for me to realize.. being smarter than everyone doesn't mean you have to prove it or wave it around all the time.  Not very conducive to any close friends.  Yeah I may have been smart as a little kid.. but I was dumb as shit.  So.. yeah alone most of the time.  Not really good with women."

He sighs, "Well the Jumper-Cook Case I'm still doing the video analysis of the Event... Maharajah suggested also looking at the crowds in the footage for any oddities as well. Its a good idea.. but slow. I know.. its not really your Speed."

Reaching behind him he unclips the Crusader Mk II helmet and hands it to her which looks almost the exact same as the original but close examination reveals some subtle styling differences.

"Your new helmet has a been fully integrated for hands free use.. and all the components are modular and removable. There is a manual tongue trigger to cycle through menus if you get tired of using the pupil scanner that registers what your looking at in your H.U.D. to highlight.  I added a gas mask and a very short duration independent air supply.. 5 minutes.  Also the helmet can be locked on to your head so it cannot be removed unless you want it to be removed."

He dismounts the bike and walks over to turn the helmet over and show her the chin section, "See this styling grove.. running your finger along here the flange ends.. see this minuscule hole.  A disc drive tray has a similar hole; almost miss it if you did not know what your looking for.  With a paperclip unfolded you poke it in the hole and its a manual release for any disc drive tray if the open button is for some reason not working.  Same is true for your helmet lock, poke a thin wire in this hole and that is the helmet lock manual release in emergencies. We don't want to have to cut the helmet off you."

He smiles, "Oh, and here... " he triggers a switch on the helmet.. and a retractable metal straw extends with a snap!

"And no, don't worry about the cost.. its chump change.."

She huffed, "That is my point. You are brilliant," She held up the helmet. "Women love that. You're easy on the eyes too. What you lack is confidence."

She put her hand on the back of his seat. She isnt in armor so it would just be a couple on a bike. "I can't afford this. I am grateful for your help. I want to help you in return. Take me for a ride, please." She is purposely vague, letting him decide what kind of ride to give her.

Lilibeth was happy that Bellissima wasn't hurt or suffering from an illness. She supposed some people might be hesitant or even fearful of physical contact with someone that could read minds but Lilibeth hadn't. She had been told that Bellissima was a trusted teammate and so that was that.

"I am so happy to hear that! And that doesn't sound fun at all. I had to do some hiking in Afghanistan with my A-bag and IOTV. That was not fun.

Turning her attention back to Justicar, "Yah she is much bigger than me, like some kind of Amazon or hero out of ancient mythology." "That is because I am a 'hero of mythology'." Runa commented testily.

Lilibeth lowered her arms and took a step back from Justicar. "OK, she is ready. I haven't done this much so I don't know how close is too close to stand next to me." She takes a deep breath, closes her eyes and mutters something too soft to hear.

And just like that, without any fanfare or flashy display, Lilibeth is simply gone. In place of the petite blond woman stood a woman that resembled Lilibeth but stood a full eight inches taller, with muscular arms and legs. Her chest size had also increased from the modest B-cups Lilibeth possessed to D. Just as she had said, there was no pile of clothes on the floor, no shredded or torn jeans or shirt. Runa stood before Justicar and Bellissima, hands on her hips, wearing low heeled armored boots with accompanying shin plates. Her legs that aren't covered by armor, are bare. A sleeveless white dress lies mostly obscured by segmented armor plates and a chainmail overskirt, slit on the sides. It is easy to see that the slits allow her legs maximum movement while still offering some protection. Protecting her upper half are vambraces on her arms and a form fitted breast plate. A star symbol is featured prominently on the armor plate covering her groin area. She doesn't appear to be carrying any weapons and wears no gauntlet or even gloves.

"Greetings," the tell woman says, moving her eyes back and forth between Justicar and Bellissima. "I am Runa, warrior priestess of the great goddess Ishtar. I look forward to battling evil by your side in this place and time."

Hikari blinks ... and then realization surfaces to her double-meaning... the subtle turn of phrase of the subsequent pass at him!

His reaction ~ eyes going wide in wonder, thoughts racing... along with his heartbeat...

His gaze takes in the lovely capable woman before him and slowly a nervous smile dawns on his face with a corresponding blush finishing in a delighted grin.

"Ah Well..uhm.. Okaaay.. Sure!"

He slides slightly forward on the seat making room .. unnecessarily, his modified racing cycle is longer than the usual model Hyabusa.

He dons his helmet, "Er ah hold on tight.. er she has a lot of torque and power.  I souped her up so I can ride her in the Justicar armor which is a little over a grand in mass... "

He's clearly nervous talking too much to fill the awkward silence as clearly he has never ridden with a woman in tandem.

When Crusader does wrap her arms around him... it's kind of cute how he trembles at her feminine touch... but the solid muscle of a athletic body under those racing leathers is somewhat surprising.  Genius Teen he may be.. but he is solidly built!  That does not come from sitting at a computer all day.. but regular intensive physical exercise!

Once he starts the engine and begins circling down through the levels of the car garage to the exit.. his nervousness quickly fades.  Exiting the parking lot he does not drive much over the speed limit within the city; she notices he has a Very sensitive Radar Detector built into the racing bike.  However, he is Most certainly an aggressive driver weaving in and out of traffic; not recklessly so as his skill is Very Evident!  And once the outskirts of Center City are reached, he cuts the engine loose and then some!  He was not kidding when he said 'hold on tightly'...

Crusader is reminded that Hikari is a pilot.. and a damned good one! His cycling skills are easily equal of any professional racer's! He could make a good living as a professional racer.  Recalling back the piloting skill he displayed navigating through the Jungle top, up the cliff face of San Sebastian Isle and then the roller-coaster yet masterful way he flew through the halls of the underground base!  Hikari is even better on a racing cycle [Pilot: Motorcycle 92%]!

To Hikari.. the feel of the warmth and strong arms of a woman holding him so close, heart racing; while he's figurative 'on-fire' racing down the road... is near heavenly!

Justicar watches Lilibeth closely as she steps back and takes a deep breath then speaks her phrase which though she thinks is spoken softly.. the heightened hearing of the Justicar can discern a whisper in a windstorm almost, records the words...

Then suddenly she is gone replaced by Runa... in large life!

Hikari normally 5'10" himself, a giant among many Japanese youths, stands even taller in the Justicar at 6'2" ~ suddenly finds himself eye to eye with the Warrior Priestess Beauty!

"AH.. Ohh Myyy!"

He ponders the amazon proportioned woman before him gazing at her battle armor and obvious physical power.. he considers a polite Asian bow... but considering her culture it might be taken the wrong way...

Deciding, Hikari took hold of his left arm and twisted and removed his left gauntlet... revealing that the Justicar suit's forearms were some 6 to 7 inches longer than his actual forearm as his physical hands are Not in the hand or fingers of his gauntlets as the Justicar  has modular hands that are interchangeable from compartment s at its waist.

Stepping forward meeting the Warrior priestess' gaze with his own sparkling emerald eyes he offered his left hand in greeting, "Greetings Warrior Priestess Runa, of the Goddess of the morning and evening star 'Venus'. I am Tatsukichi-Stottmeister Hikari, named the Justicar and I am honored to be in your presence and would delight in battle at your side!"

When/if she take his hand his grip is firm and strong. His hands are rough... these are the hands of a maker, a craftsman, but more importantly she can feel the line of callouses across the palm of his hand at the base of his fingers.  The distinctive trait of one used to regular practice and devotion to skill with weapons ~ A swordsman... a warrior!  The twin swords clearly borne across his high-tech battlesuits back are not for show.. he clearly practices with them regularly.  So the tall young man is Scholar, Craftsman... AND Warrior!

"I can conjecture that you and Lilibeth share the same flesh if but transmuted.. I make this as a distinction from transformed as you are her and she you.. but uniquely transmogrified in.. some magical way.  You are clearly clad in spectacular armor for battle and no trace of her clothing or apparel is evident so.. I'm assuming some kind of 'castling' of personal possessions occurs when you transmute into her and she into you. Your gear even what I might bestow would stay with you and transmute just as Lilibeth's clothing did."

"I may.. Might'?' be able to construct a suit of armor that looks almost exactly the same as you ad clad in now but made of modern ceramics, and composites of metal and impact resistant plastics; that potentially could be more protective.  That is unless your current armor, splendorous as it is, has magical properties that... I cannot fathom? I could then easily add some simple modern conveniences to it as well."

Runa takes Hikari's hand and shakes it. Her grip is firm but not crushing. "I do not know how it is I am summoned here. Ishtar willed it and so I am here. Perhaps she uses the body of Lilibeth to remake mine, perhaps not. She does bear a strong resemblance to me, that could be why she was chosen."

She looks down at her armored garment and back up at Hikari. "There is no magic in these," she says to him, gesturing at her body. "It is what I wore in life. Ishtar's blessing makes my body strong and just as I can heal others, I heal quickly and completely."

"It's a good thing that is true because your 'armor' has a lot of vulnerable spots you know. I mean you look amazing in it and I get it that you need to be able to move around to fight but it wouldn't hurt to have a little more protection."

"Please use your scanner," Runa says to Hikari. "I have seen your wondrous creations from Lilibeth's eyes. I would be honored to wear armor crafted by you into battle."

Winter Herald tipped his head slightly to the side as he considered his words for a second. "I will interpret that in a complimentary light, and a promising statement for the career I am considering if I can find the time for it. However, I am curious about something.

He gestured to to Jeanette, his hand up like he was holding a cup. "Ms. Price - is she specific to being your PR agent, or does she smooth over damage for the Sentinels? If specific, do the Sentinels have a public relations agent?"

Crusader indeed held on and enjoyed the ride, especially when he opened up the throttle and really let it sail. She laughed even, something it had been a long time since happening.  She pointed out a biker bar as they were passing, only to have a landmark. She had no idea where he was taking her, but this was the best ride she'd had in a very long time. She only pressed herself against him when it was necessary, and with her strength it may not be necesary. She let him decide where they were going.

Hikari reattaches his gauntlet with a whirr-click and nods, "I'm sure I can come of with something that does not sacrifice style for protection... once I get your measurements."

Justicar closes his visor and takes a step back and begins his laser scans again...

Hikari is also enjoying the ride... its been some time since he'd ..just enjoyed himself with friendly company. He is startled by Crusader's raw physical power as she only needs occasionally hold tightly.  The Hyabusa has been modified for power to move heavy loads which both Hikari and Crusader do not come even close to taxing its raw power.. that does translate into some increased speed but the bike is not as Break-neck fast as it could be.  The acceleration is the telling part... slower but the top end is still racing bike level.

Crusader will note from riding with Hikari she knows he is armed with a Glock of some kind in a waist holster at the small of his back under his leather racing jacket.

Hikari nods noting her pointing out the biker bar and he points to the approaching ocean as he heads south.  Soon his destination is clear ..

The Outer Banks (frequently abbreviated OBX) are a 200 mi (320 km) string of barrier islands and spits off the coast of North Carolina and southeastern Virginia.  Long roads about the dunes with the Atlantic ocean to the east on the left-hand side; a spectacular view of the sea and waves!

He finds he enjoys hearing the grim Crusader laugh... glad he could help inspire that.

After about an hour he finds a very scenic rest point and pulls in to stop and enjoy the view of the waves and sea...

Bellissima's eyes raised as she finally got through and felt Winter Herald's brain, it was a marvel of an accident.  No one had programmed that, it was a one in a trillion accident.  The brain in front of her shared more with a human brain than a computer.  She could feel her smart phone in her pocket and compare the two against each other and there was just no comparison, the smart phones computer was linear and easy to follow the logic.  Winter Herald was complex and non-linear, she could hear his thoughts like she could with a human, but unlike her smartphone, she didn't have any control over Winter Herald. She might be able to make an arm move, but Winter Herald could override that command as well.

She pulled out of Winter Herald's mind, "Well, that was enlightening.  I don't know how you were made, but you were not programmed.  You have no codes, no coding was done to create you, Winter Herald. You are creating yourself as you go, just like humans are.  I have no idea how your brain works but it is as complex as a human brain."  Bellissima had a look of wonder on her face as she considered what she had just learned.  "I want to thank you for helping me with this evolution of my abilities, you put yourself at much greater vulnerability than I ever expected would happen."

"If you need my help with something, feel free to call me and if at all possible, I will help," Bellissima offered Winter Herald.  "And as you can figure out, I am a huge weapon against FORCE.  The less people who know I can interact psychically with computers the better."

"Oh, and I heard about the discuss you had with Crusader about having a soul, and for point of reference you do have an Aura." Bellissima informed Winter Herald. "Of course everything has an aura, even this chair does.  But I also have never seen any convincing evidence to the existence of souls, so she would probably consider me a heretic of some kind."

Bellissima's eyes widened as Lillibeth went through her transformation into a over 6 foot toned and fit as the brunette bites her lip before she schools her face to her normal neutral. The brunette stayed in the background as Justicar and Runa talked and tried to theorize why and now Runa was here.  There was not enough information to theorize yet, in the goal to help that, Bellissima looked at Runa's aura and noticed that again there was no possessing entity, although Runa was NOT a normal human.

Before Justicar started his scan, she stepped forward and offered her hand to Runa, "It is nice to meet you Runa.  I am Bellissima as you probably know from Lillibeth and I was wondering if I could telepathically talk to you and Lillibeth at the same time.  It is mainly to satisfy my curiosity, on whether I can communicate telepathically with both of you at the same time." She explained why she wanted to telepathically with Runa and Lillibeth. "If you are amiable, we can see what I sense when I look into your and Lillibeth's mind.  Anything I hear that is private will be kept private."  As Justicar was getting ready to scan Runa.

But if that is your determination, I have no information opposing it. I shall have to accept it as fact."

He smiled. "I am truly FORCE's bastard child. No wonder he hates me."

On the thought about souls, he focused. "I didn't bring that up to refute Crusader, because the presence or absence of a soul will not change any of my directives. I would actually like it very much if she channeled her open contempt of me against the robots that are actually working against you, and found a way to separate an android from a human. If there is a clear distinction between the two, this is not a bad thing. It is actually an asset, and it should be used. Because I believe this very department should be swept, and then we should find a way to scan all the organizations that were willing to give in the the demands of FORCE."

Jacob looks thoughtfully for a moment.  You likely don't realize how resistant I am to poisons and toxins, I guess.  While not immune to them, I don't have the same reaction to them as most people.  I get sick, but they wear off rather quickly.  And your atropine injectors are likely useless.
He picks up the stapler from his desk.  Opening it wide, he begins to slap it down hard against the palm of his other hand repeatedly.  He then shows the handful of bent staples to Hikari, none of them having pierced his skin.  I've done a bit of consultation work with the US military, acting as a target for munitions to see how well they work.  I have been hit with depleted uranium rounds, armor piercing discarding sabot, new forms of naplam, even bunker busters.  All they ever damaged was my clothing.

Hikari smiles,"Think outside the box Jacob... YOU may not need some of the items... but others in your presence maybe not even team members but bystanders or even unexpected allies may need the gear or equipment stores you carry."

"I get you are invulnerable... but wouldn't it sure be nice to be able to take your headset off to put on a police captain caught in an unexpected gas attack, or save a child's life with an atropine injector hit with a nerve agent used upon a school?."

"I am too," Lilibeth says into the mind of Runa. "I wonder how easy it is for her to listen to people's thoughts? Like does it happen all the time? Does she have to work at blocking them? Doesit only happen when she wants to? I bet she would make a great psychologist!"

While Lilibeth's thoughts were running through Runa's mind, she had released her grip on Bellissima's hand, stood back and held out her arms so Hikari could do his scan.

The woman looks thoughtfully a momwnt, he brow creasing slightly, before she speaks again.  "When Tatiana, Jacob's mother, died at the end of his seveth grade year, he went to live with his father, Alexandr, who was an aerialist with the Abraham Howard Circus and Travelling Show.  His burgeoning mutant abilities, talents, and skills gave him a prediliction towards performing as an aerialist, gymnast, and tumbler.  So, he started working with his father.  Because of his appearance, this gave him some instant notoriety and fame."
She pauses to take a sip from a coffee cup sitting near the edge of Jacob's desk.  "When he left the circus for college, that fame followed him.  Everything he did, from teaching gymnastics, to becoming an Emergency Medical Technician, and, later, Paramedic, and Firefighter, became newsworthy.  Especially when he became a 'costumed vigilante'."
Jacob chuckles.  Apparently, virtually everything I did had become a part of the "performance", he interjects.
Jeannette also chuckles a bit.  "That's one way to put it.  When people wanted to schedule paid appearances with him, he decided he needed a manager to handle those arrangements and someone to help him make sure he stayed on the good side of the public."

He looks over to Bellissima ~ again with machine precision his mind goes to formula calculations shielding he deeper thoughts, "...were your mental scans of Ruma and Lilibeth conclusive?"

Hikari sat on his bike watching the waves on the ocean his hands resting on his removed helmet sitting on the console displays of the racing cycle.

He shrugs, "...maybe because I'm at serious odds with my mother and spend all my time fighting with her and trying to focus on being my own man I just don't spend time worrying over it as I'm in the workshop all the time.  Plus, I don't view women as objects of personal entertainment or possession for myself.  Just haven't found a girl who shares my same interests or goals."

He looked away shyly, "Eliz~ er Lite Star is nice... but I'm not sure how to ask her out that wouldn't sound lame."

Then he turns to look directly at her quickly, "Not That You and Bellissima are not Very nice... Lite Star is just closer to my age.. and well you have that secret Id going on and... Bellissima.. I have secrets.. I cannot share.. and she's a telepath."

He grimaces and sighs, "..I guess I didn't really answer your question did I?"

"I have already been scanning the people at LESP, so far everyone has an organic brain," Bellissima informed the android. "And now that I can psychically check for robotic brains directly, I am pretty sure I can at least keep LESP clear. Although I want to keep my abilities under the radar as long as possible.  Once FORCE finds out what my powers are, he is coming after me hard, either to recruit me or kill me."   She rain her hands through her long hair nervously, "Things are going to get dicey."

"This will be a very interesting experiment," Bellissima agreed and  smiled in thanks as Runa gave her permission and immediately extended her focus onto Runa, hearing the end of Lillibeth's 1st question.  She sends telepathically toward Lillibeth but both will receive the telepathic message, "It is like a light murmur in the background."    The brunette heroine was curious to see if Lillibeth heard her as she then switched to voice because it was easier to communicate in full sentences, "I have to focus on someone to hear anything clearly, but any strong reactions/thoughts, I will sometimes hear when I am not focusing on them.  This has given me warnings of attacks against me before."

Bellissima tilted her head as she looked at Runa's aura, "Runa, your aura is different than Lillibeth's." She tilted her head the other direction as she got a feel for Runa/Lillibeth's mind. "I can hear Lillibeth talking, even though she is in the background." She looked into Runa's eyes, "Runa could you speak to Lillibeth, so I can hear your mental voice when I am focusing?




As Justicar finished scanning Runa, Bellissima turned toward Justicar, "Did you need to get a scan of me for the outfit you was going to make for me as well?" Considering Justicar's question, "It is strange, I am not sure what to think yet, but still gathering information."

Senor Garcia heads to New York in his own vehicle, if other members of LESP take him up in his offer to drive, they will find that the old man doesn’t spend the whole trip in the right side ‘slow lane’ like most old retired people. Instead, he drives 5-10 miles above the speed limit of the slower vehicle's, but yet not 20-25 miles past the speed limit like some people do.

The entire time in NYC, Senor Garcia takes on the guise of an old investigator whenever interacting with Ms. Pembrose, her associates, and Holly’s former boyfriends (as well as anyone else) who he interviews. He doesn’t let on that he is augmented or was once formerly in the employee of the Federal Government.

Maharaja finds that if he moves the front passenger seat all the way back, he can barely fit in Senor Garcia's Kia Sorento Hybrid. This of course makes it near difficult for a person to sit behind the Maharaja, but the seat can be used for someone's duffel bag

Those who get into the vehicle find that the windows do not roll down as they are armored glass, as is the vehicle's body and tires. But other than these options the vehicle is fairly normal as in there are no built-in missiles, guns, oil, slick.



Senor Garcia looks at Maharaja as he settles intot he passenger seat and speaks the man's name back as a fluent speaker of Mandarin, which was somewhat related to Tibetan. Still the pronunciation probably wasn't 100% correct, but probably better than those who didn't speak Mandarin or any of the other 400 plus Sino-Tibetan based languages.

Runa and Lilibeth was taken a little bit aback when Bellissima's voice intruded in their shared mind. Lilibeth has been wondering if Bellissima would send a message to both of them simultaneously. She had wondered if it would be like an echo effect. Instead it was just a single message, heard b both her and Runa at the same time. "Whew, that's a relief!" she says to Runa. "I think it would have been disorientating to hear someone's thoughts like that in stereo."

Runa, on the other hand, was surprised by how easy the mind sorceress had intruded into their thoughts. She had not expected that but quickly regained her mental footing. She was a priestess and a warrior, she was not a sorceress of any kind, let alone one of the mind. Her thoughts quickly moved on to what else Bellissima had said; that they had different auras. "That makes sense that Lilibeth's aura is different than mine. We are different people."

Hikari looked up realizing that Crusader had taken her mask off... he had not noticed until she returned to sit beside him on the cycle. He met her eyes with a surprised expression.  But slowly his eyes softened...

"I.. I am Honored you would trust me so.  I had intended to respect and give you the distance you desired. I am no fool though.. life can be... lonely and only a fool turns away from offered intimacy.  But my reticence was for good cause. I am 17, will be 18 in three months. We the Sentinels are under such scrutiny and I am a public figure... I did not wish to bring un-needed  difficulties for anyone."

He smiled, "..I'm talking to much again? Right!", he lifted a hand to gently caress her lovely face as he drank in the vision of her dark hair and eyes..

He leaned close, "You are definitely not too old. And You need NO random stranger in some biker bar to hold you close. So no more words."

He slowly pulled her close to touch her forehead with his own ... a tender embrace of closeness his face close enough to feel her breath.. and looked deep in her eyes for an unspoken permission...

"You might be right about Crusader," Bellissima conceded the point that Crusader needed something to send her on the right path.  She wasn't going to able to be that person, from what she had seen, their values were too different to have a chance at good conversations.  Although if Crusader came to her for advice, she would give her best advice possible.

"Yeah, although I am only going to tell a limited number of people that I can communicate with computers now. the longer I remain a secret, the better the chance I have of actually discovering something."   Bellissima agreed that her abilities were going to be in demand, but the more in demand she became, the less useful she would become since she would be protecting people who had plenty of protection in the first place.

"But remember that I will help you if you come with actionable information," Bellissima stressed with Winter Herald.  "Do you have any questions for me?"

Bellissima nodded, at Justicar, "That was my thought as well," as she stepped away from Runa and held out her arms and stayed very still. She was looking forward to having the added protection and equipment that Justicar was going to provide.

She could hear Lillibeth mentally commenting on how disorienting it would be to hear her in stereo and she hadn't thought of that possibility.  "I am only detecting one mind when I read your mind Runa/Lillibeth, but there is a difference between your mental voices," Bellissima sent telepathically to Runa/Lillibeth so that she wouldn't move and possibly interfere with Justicar's scan.

Once Justicar finished his scan, "This has been a highly informative meeting," Bellissima nodded at Justicar and Runa.  "Although it didn't clear up what was going on with Runa/Lillibeth, although interesting information.  Do you have any questions for me?"

He... was still reeling.  After the eager kiss, Hikari had shyly led her by the hand from the rest stop out to the rolling dunes of the beech for some... intimate privacy.  She had been More than eager when she figured his intention... he'd barely had time to trigger the key-fob for the Cycle alarm before she was all over him pushing him down into the sandy duneside ~the evening sea... among other... sounds, crashing in his ears as the waves broke on the shoreline...

Hikari was certain his dried sweat, mixed with hers, and sand frosted skin still had strands of her long dark hair mingled on his face, neck and tangled in his fingers.  He could still feel the warmth of her supple touch and kisses upon his lips, face and neck.. her scent still clinging in his hair.  He remembered, with no small amount of longing, the strength of her muscled lean body... how they had cuddled together her head on his chest at least three times in the sand as he gazed up... breathless at the rolling clouds.  She had Thoroughly Exhausted him with her passion and fire!

"... I... heh... I'm sure you exaggerate.  You. Were. A ... Tigress!  Unforgettable!!"

He was actually a little light-headed as he wobbled slightly pulling on his jacket... looking around for his mirrored shades.  A lot of his clothing apparel had been... scattered in her... impatience to get him unclothed.

He turned his head to gaze at her.. and could not keep the smile from his expression.  But quickly he forced a more solemn tone, "... I promise, I'll not let this change things between us.  I'm.. not going to be clingy. This was ...Very Special ~ My First.  I won't lie and say I would not be eager for a second, but I know that's not what this was.  I can't say I won't smile at you more often, thank you for sharing this ... moment with me.  I'd .. like to know your name, but I'll understand if your not willing to share that, 'Tigress'.  I'll take what you will share.. and not push for more."

He gathered his helmet and walked at her side back to the cycle...

Justicar nodded and lifted his visor at the end of the scanning and thoughtfully regarded Runa.

"Perhaps, Bellissima... in Runa's case what you are sensing as one mind is in fact true ~ from a certain point of view.  Runa and Lilibeth ARE the same woman but with two aspects of her consciousness aware and awoken.  Lilibeth being the modern memory and knowledge, but Runa being herself the same spirit from a ancestor of the modern Lilibeth whom was a priestess of Ishtar. Like a form of reincarnation?"

Addressing Runa, "Priestess.. do you have memories of your childhood or of another time? Memories of your service in the temple of Ishtar? Battle fought in her name?"

Sydnie's look went from scerene to terrified. "Hikari listen carefully. What we've done could send me to prison if anyone finds out if...Bellisima can read minds."

She backed away from him, "I'm...I've...I" She turned and began walking into the ocean.

Hikari turned to see the distress in her lovely face and felt the emotional pain stab his heart...

He smoothly grabbed her hand gently but firmly as he gracefully got in her way, "..hey, Hey, HEEY... THIS was consensual! I Wanted this, as much as I Needed this As Well!  And Belle.. she doesn't roll that way!  She does not invade people's minds without permission... as I said.. I have secrets... secrets I cannot burden others with... Especially heroes.. like you and her!  This is just another personal secret to add to the pile.. I already have.  Please... don't cry or be scared.  Seeing tears in your eyes is more painful than you can imagine... particularly if I caused them! I'd rather Die than cause you pain...!"

Perhaps its a bit forward on his part, but he gently pulled her into an embrace cradling her head to his chest/shoulder... and took a deep breath drinking in the fragrance of her dark hair and the press of her feminine shapeliness. His strong arms tightened around her slim but solid frame.. the warmth of his body filling the tender moment to the sound of the rushing surf.

He whispered to her softly, "..we have all made mistakes in our lives at one time or another... THIS was not one!  I will cherish it Forever, and in three months it won't matter! hush..shhhh. It will be alright, my Tigress."

I also still believe you are looking for a young woman who does not want to be found, but I understand her parents, at least, might wish for closure on the topic. Bellissima nodded her head, "I will look at the transceiver after I have done what I could for saving Holly Cook.  Although I doubt I will find out anything different than Justicar."  She shook her head at Winter's conclusion, "There isn't enough evidence to support that theory at the moment.  My information is that she is unconscious in the open.  If she has been out there this entire time, she is probably suffering from exposure.  The fact that the blue light was involved in a bank robbery and took her, might indicate that she has been kidnapped."  Bellissima moved off, leaving to catch up with Jacob and Runa for the trip to NYC.

She put her hand against his chest to stop him from hugging or to warn him not to push forward. "I am a hypocrite. I have killed others for this. I ... must die. It is the only thing that can be. I will drown myself. You cannot stop me. You should leave, I don't want you to remember me like this." Then in a whisper that was barely audible, "Sydnie, my name."

Hikari frowned, "Yeeaah, THAT is NOT happening!  No way am I letting you do THAT!  Sydnie... you do not have to or want to do this... I was not forced, you did not take advantage of me... let's not make it more than that.  Stop talking crazy..."

He pulled out his cell and clicked the power button three times rapidly and thrust is back in his jacket pocket.

"And for the record ~ I CAN and WILL stop you. Got news for you... I AM JUSTICAR... not some janky suit I built!"

Perhaps it might have been subtle to others but not to Crusader's trained eye.. his stance shifted... ready to fight!

Pondering Sydnie's clear emotional distress... thinking fast Hikari tried an 'alternate' method to get through to her...

"Sydnie, this is not an issue in Japan.. the age of consent there is 13..."

Retrieving his cell smartphone he hit the mic goggle search, "Siri, what is the age of consent in State of New Jersey?"

{OOC: Too note, because Sydnie has ...{ahem} stripped Hikari she knows his Biker Jacket is actually concealed armor and he is armed with a Glock 17 but also a stun gun {blaster}... no hiding that... but he does not seem to be reaching for that stun gun... yet. His stance says he's actually prepared to fight hand to hand!}

Siri's voice seemed to break through to her. She looked shocked but then reached out and wrapped herself around him. "I thought I'd failed the crusade. You must think me a lunatic." That was when the water started. "It really wasn't a mistake."

Hikari gets this lopsided mindless grin on his face as she enfolds him in her warm embrace. He is silent just enjoying the shapely feel of her pressing against him; the fragrance of her dark hair making him light-headed again.  His mind is blank for a few seconds... just living in the moment.

He chuckles slowly forcing the stupor of the lovely bundle of woman in his arms from his thoughts and trying slow his racing heartbeat, "Aheh... we all go a little crazy sometimes, its human nature."

Noticing her watering eyes, he lifts her chin gently, "Oh no!  Don't cry... Sydnie... being with a heroic woman like you is Never a Mistake. Your Crusade goes on.. hush!"

And he tenderly kissed her tears away...

Sydnie hummed and let him console her. It felt nice being cared for, and it had been years since anyone had been this close. She kissed his cheek, "Thank you for everything. You are going to make a woman very happy some day and likely break a couple dozens hearts along the way. Speaking of, you must ask Eliza out. Don't worry about sounding lame, it is endeering. Just make it happen."

A brilliant smile splits Hikari's face as he blushes again at the peek on his cheek, "I- t-Thank you, Sydnie.  I w-will ask Eliza out!  But, I'm going to try really, Really Hard... not to break any hearts ~ especially Yours!"

Hand in hand... in silence he leads her back to the cycle, slipping his off-hand into his pocket to find his cellphone and trigger the all clear code to forestall the arrival of the Justicar suit.

Then he realizes, "Wait! Y- You know Eliza?!?"

His expression goes from mirth to thoughtful consideration musing, "...well I'm pretty much a public figure so... most things about me are a Goggle search away.  I'm pretty sure your wanting something more than my favorite color is blue... so a 'real' secret."

He regarded her meeting her eyes and a somber pensiveness came over him...

"Well... this ... is a secret from my stack of dark secrets.  If you think I'm a freak after hearing it... I~ I'll understand if you'd rather stay... far away from me.  It's pretty freaky.. I get that."

He sighs, "..My mom and dad worked for some pretty cut-throat major Corporations. My Dad Krupp Aerospace, mom Mitsuhama Telecommunications.  My dad invented a carbon nano-reactive material for Krupp Aerospace... a microscopic self-repairing carbon-based re-entry shield for Hypersonic aircraft. Nano-machines made of carbon.  But he learned by accident that the nano-machines could do way more than that.  The nano-machines by necessity so they could coordinate their efforts had a wireless connection between them all.  A wireless connection that simulated a neural net, and they got smarter..able to connect to the internet and expand their knowledge.  Not self-aware, but definitely sapient... and they could do more than repair.. they could build... practically anything on a molecular level.  As you can guess Krupp Aerospace wanted them badly when they realized what father had invented.  Dad refused, and I have strong belief they murdered him in an attempt to get the data that he'd erased from their computers and hid.  I was only 6.  Whatever happened his research was considered lost.. along with his genius."

"When I turned 13... I received a mail package, apparently pre-mailed by father to me.  I expected some letter or something incriminating his murderers.  But it was much more than that ~ father had clearly been a one-in-a-million brilliance cause clearly he'd progressed Much further in his research and experiments than Krupp Ever considered.  The package was a 1 inch cube of carbon... or so I thought until I touched it.  Then it disassembled into a colony of carbon-nano machines that invaded my body and blood... permanently bonding to my brain and nervous system and circling in my bloodstream.  But they did more than that... they uploaded into my brain all my father's research and continually update it with their wireless connection to the internet.  Their neural net is now a part of me... and likely why I'm so 'smart'.  I have tried for years to separate the nano-machines from my body with no success."

"And it gets... even freakier.  The neural-net the nano-machines have... contains an uploaded personality imprint that claims to be of my father, 'Karl'.  The same AI 'Karl' that is in the Justicar suit.  Krupp Aerospace STILL desperately wants my father's research... if they learned his nano-machine tech was in his son's body... well I think you know what would happen to me."

"And it gets worse... 'Karl'... is keeping things from me.  I know he does not always tell me the 'full' truth... and I do not know what secret agenda he has... or if he can take control of my body entirely by the carbon nano-machines."

He is silent for several moments, "And THAT, in my opinion, is Not the 'darkest' secret I have..."

He pauses to let the horror sink in, his expression sad, before asking, "Should I call a cab to take you back to LESP?  I'll.. understand if you do."

His expression is pained as he avoids looking her in the eyes...

The lights on the car flash as Jacob pproaches it, unlocking it while on the move.  The Brady Bunch enters first, quickly slipping over the backs eat and into the trunk, to sit in unusual silence.  Jacob opens the doors for his passengers, then slips into the driver seat to engage his seatbelt nad start the engine.
This should prove and interesting trip, he chuckles to himself.

I'll be sure The Brady Bunch doesn't bother you, then, Jacob responds.  He turns in his seat, leaning so he can see at least one of the spider monkeys.  Did you hear that?  Marsha, all if you, do not bother  my passengers.  Got that?
The spider monkey responds with a smile and a nod of her head.

Hikari closed his eyes in relief but squeezes her hand in gratitude, "T-Thank you Sydnie.. "

When he looks her in the eyes he smiles his eyes tearing up, "..I ..I never thought if it.. that way ~ Yeah, I guess my dad really did care. Your all heart Sydnie, Really! And you are more hero than I will ever be!"

He wiped his un-shed tears away...

Lilibeth followed Jacob to his Prius. She liked the clean, soft lines of the economical vehicle and said as much to him. "Nice car! Smart too, gas is just so expensive anymore."

Runa on the other hand, grumbled in her mind. "I've ridden in horse drawn chariots larger than this...thing. Let us hope you don't need to summon me whilst inside."

When the "Brady Bunch" get inside and head for the trunk, Lilibeth giggles. "Trunk Monkees! Just like in those commercials!"

Actually, they are Brown Spider Monkeys, Jacob advises as he sets his phone in its holder and calls up a map and directions to their destination.  A critically threatened endangered species, their troupe was on San Sebastian Island.  These eight decided that I seemed like a good leader for them and their troupe.  The rest are at the zoo, but this bunch of bananas decided they want to live with me.
He pauses as he pulls out of the parking space and makes his way into traffic.  My landlord is not happy about this, and my attorney is in negotiations with them about it.  He believes I have a good chance of convincing them to let the monkeys remain.

Bellissima is completely still in the back seat with the Brady Bunch, in deep meditation.  A monkey checks to make sure that Jacob is busy driving and carefully climbs into Bellissima's lap and curls up to sleep in the brunette's lap.

She smiled, "Say that to anyone else and I'll have to rip your lungs out."

He smiled, "My lips are sealed."

They made their way back over to the Cycle and he put on his helmet, disarmed the alarm and soon they were back on the road heading north..

Back up the Outer Banks roads again high speed on the open road he opens the souped up racing cycle's speed run free!  Not long they are near the biker bar again and he stops at the same Bar she pointed out on the way down.

Dismounting, he takes off his helmet hooking it over his right elbow but his Mirror shades are still in place, "Gonna need a little fuel, just to be careful... and a cold drink would be nice too ~ non-alcholic, of course."

Sydnie got off the bike and looked at Hikari oddly before answering him. "I didn't point this place out because I want a drink or to get laid. I pointed it out because it is a hangout for the Dogs of War, major East Coast gang into bad stuff. I've been tracking them for months and I'm here to break some heads. They are into human trafficking. I am not going in there with armor, which means I am not holding back. Some of these animals might get killed and I won't lose any sleep. You can go and get some gas, be back in an hour or so or you can walk in there with me. If you go in, you have to have my back, and if people get killed you don't lose sleep. That's it."

She pulled her mask up and pulled her hair up into a bun. She walked with purpose toward the door.

Hikari pondered her words and his expression became the familiar determined look Sydnie was getting use to seeing, "Crusader, If you have evidence of these hoodlums wrong doing and criminal activity... you should turn that evidence over to the proper police Authorities so a court warrant canbe issued and an 'Official' raid can be done on these premises ~ so charges can be arraigned and the miscreants be put behind bars properly!"

"But for expedience.. rendering these miscreants incapacitated and then informing the Authorities of their location is acceptable.. but we do not need to kill anyone!  There are always options... killing must always be an absolute LAST resort and Only when innocent life is in Immediate threat or peril!  WE are better than them!  These monsters only deal in fear and violence... but for their Own selfish personal gain.  We do Too... but our goal is the defense of the innocent and the upholding of Justice!  Don't loose focus and sink to their level... that is what is so wrong with America... somewhere along the way.. your nation's high ideals that were the pinnacle and envy of all other nations you lost by Compromise in some small, some large measures.  You Compromised, You adopted the tactics and brutality of your moral inferiors to win. But you did not 'Win'; all you did was destroy your own high Ethics.  Do Not let these Vermin do that to you! Rise above, be Better than they are... don't be like them!"

Then he set his shoulders and Justicar reached behind him and drew his Stun Gun {Blaster}..to check the charge was full... then re-holstered its behind him, and clenched his fists, "And you are Not going in there alone, I will ALWAYS have your back!"

He followed her... putting his mirrored shades back in place...
