Hikari returns to his fabrication of test materials for the laser refracting armor, getting into a discussion with his father,
Karl, about a more efficient fabrication process with the lab resources.
Hikari agrees and they both work to rearrange some of the equipment in the Workshop for easier faster materials fabrication and testing. As usual
Hikari continues his personal policy of no weapons testing in dock near any civilians that could even remotely be affected and materials testing of the kind needed will need laser weapons fire, but the research is not that far along yet.
He notes at some point his mother
Yumiyo is present watching
Hikari and
Karl from the armored observation booth at the lab's entrance, she makes no comment an smiles at them as they work on the research project.
The lab is almost reconfigured for rapid production of the laser resistant armor test material series... when
Hikari is informed by
K-Star, via his
telemental crown of the arrival of the
Star Sentinel in Center City airspace. Then proceeds to inundate him with flight performance telemetry and diagnostics of the Proto-type Trans-Atmospheric Hypersonic Spacecraft.
K-Sea begins routing communications from the Center City Flight control Tower at the International Airport demanding to know quote
'What the HELL is THAT.. and why is it suddenly in Center City Airspace?'
Hikari speaks to the flight controller on duty and informs him the submitted flight plan from Texas. To which the Flight officer is incredulous that the flight took only a little over an hour and demanded the aircraft remain in the general air landing que for a runway to be assigned.
Hikari let the flight officer know the craft was VTOL and was being used by the LESP for a mission and put him in contact with LESP Officers. The air craft would be slowing to under 50mph for landing out in the Center City Bay for a quick refuel and pick up at the docks as
Hikari filled the next flight plan for Arizona.
He gave his apologies for the misunderstanding noting to the flight control officer that his flight plan had taken into account all other scheduled flight incoming and out going in the estimated time of the
Star Sentinel's arrival.
With that
Hikari excused himself from
Karl nodding for him to continue the research as the LESP now had a mission. Donning the
Justicar-Polymer, he exited the lab to the deck to find the
K-Sea had already launched the
Sea Sentinel from the docks making its way out to the bay.
Karl and
Yumiyo followed watching the skies from the deck of the
Sea Sentinel with
Justicar as shortly the shape of the sleek
Valkyrie XB-70A styled, now designated the
2XS-72A Star Sentinel aircraft came into view on its powerful VToL thrusters...
The 185'ft length matte black underside of the hyper-sonic plane's re-entry shield was in stark contrast to it's slightly silvery metallic blue top surface coloring. It Dwarfed the 100'ft long
Sea Sentinel Yacht casting a shadow over the sea-going craft. The skin of the
Star Sentinel shimmered with heat emission from the still cooling hull of its mach 5+ flight to Center City... causing steam to form in the sea breeze over the pleasure yacht.
Justicar extend his wings and took flight toward the spacecraft as the forward bomb-bays now used as rapid entry/exit airlock to the craft opened in its belly for his entry. The white padded interior though cramped was a marvel of efficient space use. Making his way to the cockpit the pilot's 'seat' retracted into the floor as
Justicar stooped slightly and securing docking arms extended from the floor attaching to the suit in builtin ports to hold him fast in acceleration gimbals at a mostly seated position.
Hikari was sorting through the flight recording telemetry interfacing
K3 with
K-Star sophant AI's to get a record of any engine performance issues or errors the robotic flight recorded on the flight.. of course there were some issues but
K-Star had not noted any red flag system failures and was already dealing with the five amber system alerts that did occur.. 2 of which already resolved.
K3 and
K-Star concurred with
K-Sea that the
Star Sentinel was within acceptable flight worthy tolerances for a simple rapid transport to Arizona as long as combat was avoided.
Hikari took their advice and gave his approval to continue operation and begin refueling operation.

Taking flight control
Hikari directed the spacecraft some 1,000 feet distance from the
Sea Sentinel and set the
Star Sentinel down gently in the water, opening her fuel scoops and routing the sea water for desalination and filters of the purification plant that would split the water into Oxygen and Hydrogen with superconductive elements into the fuel tanks to fuel the flight and HEPLaR engines. Though he was not ready to test the HEPLaRs as yet.. certainly not near a populated area... fusion rockets have radioactive exhaust. The tanks were only a little under half full but this was all part of the testing process of the spacecraft's functions.
