Chinilaya - Electrostatic Cannon

Although not as quiet as Captain Justice's flying, the mercenaries with Colonel Flagg are definitely professional as they approach the cannon with little noise. Between this and Chimp Man Z's howler monkeys, the group easily approaches the electrostatic cannon without alerting the half dozen soldiers around the unit. The soldiers are grouped equally around the unit, facing out towards the jungle, with varying degrees of attention. Three of the men (oddly all three on the north side) are standing and staring out at the jungle. Two of the three men (those to the west) are squatting, the most southern of the men is drinking from an aluminum water bottle. At the east, the man not standing is prone and aiming his AK-47 at something in the jungle.

As they approach the electro-static cannon, Colonel Flagg speaks, "We should be coordinated when we get there, I'll want my men to follow Chimp Man Z in. Smohk says there are six soldiers guarding the thing, so when we reach the unit, my men and I will take the northern most three. We'll leave the other two to you."
"After the soldiers are subdued, I've got a quantity of C4 that should handle the cannon. We'll find a power coupling and destroy it, that should put the machine out of order long enough for the Gemini to dock."

Captain Justice flies low through the forest with the group trying to be stealthy as he can be.

And once the group approaches the cannon, he looks and considers a plan of attack.
"In that case. I can take care of the two to the west And Chimp Man Z can take care of the one with the AK-47 out. The signal to go in will be Chimp Man Z going in. Does that sound reasonable?"

Actually, I have an idea as to way to make it work a bit better.  CMZ moves to where the howler monkeys seem to waiting patiently.  He kneels down and aeems to talk to them quietly for a minute or so, then they head into the trees.
When he comes back, he smiles, showing his sharp teeth.  There's going to be some extra distraction.
He turns and begins moving towards the the side with the prone guard.

The howler monkey attack worked like a charm. When the soldiers reacted it was obvious they had never before faced incoming fire of that sort. The soldiers were so distracted by the howlers they didn't notice the real attack till it was too late.

CMZ just walks calmly towards his target, letting the "sniper" fire at him all he wants.  As he moves in closer, he smiles at the hapless man, his tail swaying lazily behind him.
Suddenly, the nine-foot long tail lashes out, wrapping around the sniper's neck, and CMZ steps closer.  [Language unknown: Ugh M tin fiwi st, caal ver m esit.  Us nce as hi dinthashe, roera ngtith innt, ingch ortol e isse il.]

At the signal of the howler monkeys, Captain Justice rushes the two in the west.
Speeding low to the ground near his top speed, he is in melee in a blink of the eye. The squatting men have their heads easily within kicking hight. So he performs a roundhouse kick on one.

Then he lets them raise to their feet.
The one he didn't kick rises uo first.
Captain Justice then proceeds to beat the first to rise senseless with a jab,cross and hook.

The other one finally gets up as his parter goes down. At which point Captain Justice simply barrels the man down a pins him with shear mass and muscle.

Hey, Doodle, CMZ says so his smartphone can hear him as the former sniper runs off into the jungle, turn on Bluetooth and connect to all Bluetooth devices in range.
He reaches down to pick up the man's dropped rifle, and proceeds to bend the barrel until it is crimped in the middle.
Hey, Doodle, play Born to be Wild, by Steppenwolf.  A sthe requested music begins to play through the speakers of any paired devices, CMZ begins to climb up the side of the electrostatic cannon.

As Chimp Man Z exults and Captain Justice holds down the prisoners, a slight noise is heard from the jungle to the west. The slight noise is immediately followed by a fusillade. Chimp Man Z hears a familiar voice ordering the soldiers to 'fire at will'.
The bullets tear through Chimp Man Z's clothes and bounce off the man, himself. Captain Justice is behind the cannon, and none of the fired rounds come close to hitting him. One of the men Captain Justice is sitting on shouts [Language unknown: "STIILLLIN HEOFOM! IOESFO T OLHEON!"]
Mr. Magnum reveals himself at the edge of the jungle and responds, "IT'S MY BOMB AND I'LL BLOW IT IF I WANT TO" before raising his weapon and firing. Colonel Flagg and his squad dived for cover when the shooting started, but the five begin to return fire just as some of the covering plates are BLOWN off the electrostatic cannon by a small internal explosion.

Colonel Flagg looks at Captain Justice and says, "Idiots. They re-purposed their nuke to power the cannon. If that thing goes off, we're all history."
He switches weapons, slinging his rifle to his back he limbers a pair of SMG's before commanding the mercs. "You two, on the ends slip out and try to flank them. I'll make it seem like nobody stopped firing."
As the two men execute his orders, the colonel starts firing short burst from his SMG's to make it appear the same number of weapons are firing.

Captain Justice flies to where the plates where blown off in an internal explosion. He looks in to see if he can identify the nuke.

As Captain Justice approaches, he notices the men that had been watching the cannon are now crying and have wet themselves. Inside the cannon, there are wires from a flattened sphere that takes up most of the space in the lower base, to what look surprisingly like PC motherboards clustered just below the cannon proper. There are red LED's along the outermost circumference that are flashing in a manner that suggests a single light circling the unit. As he arrives and looks at disk, a second light begins to chase the first on around the device.
Mr. Magnum focuses his fire on keeping the mercenaries heads down, allowing his men to target Chimp Man Z. He ignores the firing of the mercenaries, allowing his force field to absorb the damage. He shouts back at Chimp Man Z, "you know, you sound like a monkey I knew, once!"

Calling on his collage years for electrical engineer, Captain Justice analysts the electronics for the nuclear bomb. Looking for something he can do to save the people in the area.

OOC:
I'll roll Electrical Engineer to figure out how the electronics of the bomb work and see if there is something I can pull out to disable it.

08:33, Today: Captain Justice rolled 25 using 1d100 with rolls of 25.  Electrical Engineer roll to understand the nuke's electronics . –

My Electrical Engineer is at 65%

If there is nothing I can pull out to disable it, can I pull the whole bomb out without causing it to explode?

Yeah, well, you look like a jackass I once chased off.  He sniff the air.  You kinda smell like one, too.
CMZ begins walking straight towards the men firing at him.  This time, instead of hitting soft skin and hair then falling to the ground with all their energy gone, the bullets now ricochet freely off his nearly rock-hard muscles and endanger anyone who might get close to him.  Such as Mr Magnum's men.....

Captain Justice figures out he can disconnect a single power cable and remove the source (which is, in fact, a bomb). One of the mercenaries suddenly opines, "that there is your basic air burst weapon; it's designed to blow planes around. If'n that sucker blows here, we're all toast."
Firing at Chimp Man Z and slowly destroying his vulnerable clothing, Mr. Magnum strides forward. His face is scarlet and expresses nothing but anger as he shouts "FINE! MONKEY GOT A SHAVE! I'M STILL GONNA CAP YOUR #$$!"

Captain Justice disconnects the power cable from the bomb. Then he picks up the bomb and starts flying straight up as gast as he can. Determining that distance from the ground in the best way to prevent needless deaths. And future deaths from radioactive fallout.

After tossing a few shots his way, the colonel continues, "Harris is still using that force field. While he's got that going we're wasting ammo on him. Let's see how well you guys were listening. SQUAD! FOCUS SECONDARIES!"

As Chimp Man Z runs up to Mr. Magnum most of the men with the major begin to retreat. Major Harris tosses away the machine gun he was using and pulls a small detonator from a pocket. Grinning he tosses the detonator out in front of his men and says, "If anything happens to that, the bomb your friend is running off with explodes. I'm betting that would even take out you, mutie! So, what you gonna do, punch me or protect that button?"
"And you bunch of wusses can stop shooting at my freakin' cannon and push that button. The one that manages to do so gets to live."

As Chimp Man Z stalks forward, Mr. Magnum leaps up to a tree branch that happens to be five feet above his head. Catching the branch in one hand, he hooks his knees over the branch and fires his energy pistol while he hangs upside down. The energy beam hits the tree and punches through causing an explosion of splinter flying from the hole on the other side of the trunk. This display is enough and the formerly fleeing soldiers turn back and rush to reach the button.
