So character sheets are up and should be editable.  I borrowed the character sheet from your game Soulsight cause it was soo good :) Hope you don't mind.  Soulsight is playing Bobcat.

We have some interesting characters so far. I like them all.  Here's what we have so far from my uinderstanbing. It will also  give you as players a better idea of whom you're dealing with.

Harbringer: Prophet with extraordinary powers of divination and aura reading.

Rapier: And ex navy seal weapon specialist who watched his whole unit get blown up by a nuke while he survived for some strange reason.  Finds out he has certain immunities he didn't know he had and that radiation from the attack actually triggered a series of mutations inside that lead to a better understanding and enlightenment.

Starfall: A university student studying astro physics stumbles across a breakthrough discovery and does a top secret and daring experiment on himself, fearing their destruction of their facility from nuclear attack. The experiment is a success and he gains a strange power of altering his body into void material.  But his experiment was unauthorized and he is hunted down by the US government and  their drones.

Zero: A mutant so cold that someone in contact with him for long periods of time might die.  He is cold all the time and can't turn off his power.  People even being around him become uncomfortably cold.

Bobcat: A mutant panther who calls himself Bobcat.  He lives in rocky mountainous regions and has recently been spotted in the mountains of Northern Ontario. He is a superb natural scout who operates best at night.

Just a suggestion: I had a cat who looked like a little panther who I named Pumma.  That would be an OK name for a mutant panther too ;)

Is this standard character generation? Are we using powers unlimited?

What about the character creation thread? I can't seenthat any more, and there was some information I'm looking for there.
Word of warning.  I got a 3 for PB on the diceroller, so Harbinger is horrific to look upon.  Deadpool would be handsome compared to this guy.  He is a veteran of Operation Desert Storm, a former MP.  Three failed marriages, many people thought he was a kook because he kept talking about an apocalypse and was busy preparing for it; however, he was considered harmless.  He is the equivalent of a Military Specialist because of all the time he spent prepping, learning, honing himself.  And, he will tell you the apocalypse hasn't come.  Yet.

Oh, something I forgot.  Kevin Siembied forgets two very important skills in his basic military skill programs.  Two kills that are taught to the modern soldier.  Land Navigation, because you can't fight a battle when can't get there and because every soldier want to be able to get home.  And... First Aid, because it makes surviving war easier when you and your buddies have the skill to stabilize the injured and the ying.  I propose these be added asa a house rule.

20:54, Today: Starfall rolled 3 using 3d6.  IQ.
20:54, Today: Starfall rolled 11 using 3d6.  ME.
20:54, Today: Starfall rolled 14 using 3d6.  MA.
20:54, Today: Starfall rolled 11 using 3d6.  PS.
20:54, Today: Starfall rolled 12 using 3d6.  PP.
20:53, Today: Starfall rolled 17 using 3d6.  PE.
-20:54, Today: Starfall rolled 2 using 1d6.  PE bonus die.
20:53, Today: Starfall rolled 9 using 3d6.  PB.
20:53, Today: Starfall rolled 4 using 3d6.  Spd.

AH yeah, he gets to change that IQ in with PE.....so he can be a college student instead of a mental vegetable.

Oh yeah, baby he can run like the wind! Totally makes sense that 3 PE and 4 Spd....more like roll down hill in his wheel chair.

BTW, GM, my character sheet isn't editable, yet.

Harbinger may have known Rapier before the wars; if he did he knew a truly terrible piece of scum. He joined the military (and kept re-upping) just to be able to kill people legally. Probably committed numerous minor war crimes, though always in such a way that it couldn't be pinned on him or that, somehow he wouldn't ever get punished.

I think it would be fun to know each other from before; the question is, have you met him since his enlightenment?

Once you figure out what his other powers are, I hope you start laughing as well.

The story that he was attempting to augment himself goes SO WELL with those rolls.

One of the powers gives +1d6PE and I rolled a 1 on that as well! HAH!

I have a rules question about character gen as well; if we get the same skill twice, like from two different skill programs or something, is there any benefit? Do we just get the better of the two scholastic bonuses and forget the other replication of the skill?

Starfall: maybe you shoudl switch MA and IQ instead of PE and IQ; sure, a little less intelligent, but an unlikable prick scientist works better than a supernaturally tough experiment with a PE of like 5 total.

Rapier: You sheet is now editable sorry

I honestly don't know I was wondering that myself in Soulsight's game.  Like HAnd to Hand.  If you get basic from like police training and then martial arts from somewhere else do they stack?

We are using powers unlimited yes.  All editions why not.

The main book actually says about that.  Page 45.  Duplicate skills are ignored, if you have different bonuses from the sources use whichever is better.  If you have more than one hand to hand skill you have to just pick one.

No.  Official rules state that you can't trade them either.  However, there is precedent for it if you look at Special Training:  Secret Operative.  Now, Law Enforcement and Basic Military both give you Hand to Hand:  Basic.  Since Expert costs two skill selections, then they can "stack". However, you get more benefit if you turn one into Boxing or Wrestling instead.  Taking Basic Military, Law Enforcement, and Espionage (like I did) pretty much begs you to take Boxing and Wrestling.  Law Enforcement gives a skill slot that offers the choice of Intelligence, Streetwise, or Surveilance Systems/Tailing.  It also has Radio:  Nasic, a duplicate skill from Basic Military. My plan is to replace thw duplucate with Surveillance, and take Streetwise, since Intelligence is given by Espionage.

Item #10 on pg 45 of HU 2nd,

If a skill duplicates, take the highest bonus is taken and the other is ignored.

I personally hate it because to be a Medical Doctor you have to take the Science Program, which comes with Chemistry....but the Medical Doctor Program also comes with....Chemistry and everything else that is a pre-req for being and MD except advanced math.
Most GM's I know, for that specific example let players choose Chemistry: Analytical or Pharmacological (different source book) as the Chem that comes with Medical Doctor.

I am kinda fond, at this point, of those rolls. The ultra low stats are....MEah, but gives me a good basis for an interesting story. I am reminded of the movie Unbreakable with Bruce Willis and Samuel L Jackson. ;-)
