Hello Jean,

It seems that you and I are the only ones logging in recently.  I do hope that some of the others do return.

Looking forward in seeing what all New Orleans has in store for us.

Having never been to New Orleans, I will have a lot to research in order to build up his backstory.

Just a heads up, some new members are being added.  I am getting them set up and then the story will jump back in.

This may be a dumb question... but is killing a mortal considered an immoral act that could cause me to lose what little humanity I have left?  (I thought it might be a good idea to ask this question before feeding...)

People are friends, not cattle! Source your blood from healthy, free-range alternatives.

In reply to Suel Cummins (msg # 12):

It all depends on your current humanity.  The lower it is the less killing will affect you.  However also the more inhuman you are and the harder for you to integrate with any society.  10 Humanity, you will find even feeding off humans off putting.  5 humanity, You are ok with killing kine when you need to, but but it would still be better to take only a little from each.  (Safer too).  1 humanity, humans are food, and the fastest was to the blood is to rip out their heart.  Who needs people, or TV, or forks.  The beast is in control, and it needs not these things.  (Ok, not really but you get the idea).

I'm getting the feeling I should try to let my prey live, unless they're really in need of being killed.

In reply to Suel Cummins (msg # 17):

Killing also draws attention from the mortals.  Police get involved (even if the bodies are disappearing, people are going missing.)  Some of those are really good at their jobs, and some are are even clued in to your world.  Anything that draw attention like that is a danger to the masquerade and that is a tradition you don;t want to break.  So...  be careful..
