Known Kindred residents.

The Elders:
Lawrence Clark:  The Ventrue Primogen is one of the older Kindred in New Orleans his embrace possibly going back to the 1800s.  Despite that he is well modernized and seem to be able to take advantage of modern day constructs at ease.   His early history is not well known, but he is believed to be from England, and his sire one of the old European Ventrue elders.  He made his way to the states around the beginning of world war II, first to the northeast, and then later moving south to the Carolinas, and finally to settle in New Orleans.  With him he brought a lot of old English Money, and has used that to fund several successful endeavors.
He owns, through several shell companies the New Orleans Tribune as well as the Times Picayune and TP Street.   In addition, he owns several local affiliate tv and radio stations.  He uses these businesses not only for profit, but to help drive public perception relating to Kindred activity.  He assures stories that he doesn’t want believed get printed in TP Street, a well-known tabloid magazine which is read more for entertainment, rather than actual news, and legitimate stories get printed in the tribune.  Using this strategy and reinforcing it with shows on his local tv and radio stations he is effective at steering the public’s perception of what is true and what is nonsense.  This make him a valuable resource for the prince and the masquerade in general.
Lawrence is a ruthless businessman willing to crush opponents anyway possible, and personally he is known for his aloof manner, not building personal relationships, with very few exceptions.  While he is generally polite, it is clear he respects the social standing among the kindred and expects other to as well.
Lawrence has been seen in public in the company of Dalia, the Toreador Primogen, and his progeny, the Ventrue Malcolm Marsday.  He is seen from time to time with kine at social events, where it is appropriate for a businessman to make appearances.  There is talk that he may have some romantic connection back in London, but no one has been able to find any evidence.

Known Kindred residents.

Dalia Dark: Dalia Desjardin, primogen of the Toreador was born in France in 1867. Much is known about her history, as you will discover.  Dalia’s mother was a famously beautiful French opera singer Marie Desjardin, her father was unknown. Her mother gave her up so that way she could continue with her career and avoid scandal.  Dalia was adopted by a young couple who could not have children of their own, or so it was thought.  In truth, she was adopted by the Madame of a high-class brothel which specialized in beautiful women.  She was chosen because of her mother’s great beauty.  She was raised by a hired nurse with several other children.  She was groomed from an early age into being a perfect companion.  Most of what was taught was way of maintaining her looks, accentuating her beauty and how to please men.  She did learn way of seduction as well, of making idle conversation to keep the customer interested and to appear more knowledgeable than she was.  She learned to listen and to alter her behavior to fit that of the customer.  When Dalia was 14, the Madame she had come to see as her mother died and the brothel was taken over by a woman who was not so scrupulous.  The new owner cared little for the girls and made little restrictions on how their patrons treated them as long as “their looks were not marred”.  The next 4 years was hell for Dalia and many of the other women at the brothel “mysteriously” disappeared.
The brothel’s reputation drew interest from the Toreador Vaughn LaBlac.  He visited often as it was a safe place for him to feed and many of the women were true visions of beauty.  Over the last few years though, he saw their mistreatment taking its toll.  The women were haggard and many has turned to drink of other substances to get through the day.  He had decided that the place was losing its appeal for him, and indeed was becoming less safe, as he never knew what might be in the blood of one of his companions.  Before he left though he made an offer to Dalia, who at the time was the most beautiful of all the workers.  He promised to free her from the brothel, but the price was high.  He explained to her that he intended to embrace her, and all that entailed.  Dalia agreed and they left together.  The thugs who worked for the place tried to stop him from taking her, to their own misfortune.
Dalia traveled with Vaughn for a little less than a year, but he grew tired of her. They parted ways and Dalia returned to the brothel that she grew up in.  She took revenge for her years of mistreatment.  The details are not well known, however there are stories of the madam being stripped naked, tied to a horse and dragged behind as it ran through town.  The patrons suffered worse fates.
Dalia’s early history is well known, due to the fact that she wants it to be known.  She wishes her enemies to know that she retaliates against those who do harm to her, as evidenced by the following additional story of her past.  Dalia never forgave her mother for discarding her, and several years after she had been embraced she encountered her mother at one of her performances.  Th twenty years since her birth time had not been kind to her mother.  Once a well-known beauty, years of travel, smoking and long nights had taken their toll, and if had affected Marie deeply.  A very vain woman, she tried to hide her age with cosmetics, and dressing much below her age, but all knew the truth.  It was a common topic of conversation and the social circles of high society, that she was making a fool of herself.  She was a joke to most of the community and often people would say she should concentrate on her talent rather than her looks.  Dalia found her at one of her shows but her mother did not know who she was.  Dalia spoke with her for some time, pretending to be a fan and then when about to leave, slashed her mother across the throat, cutting into her vocal cords.  She then held her mother so she could see nothing but the mirror and explained that the face she saw in the mirror, old, wrinkled, and discolored will be the face that she will look on for all eternity.  She embraced her mother while forcing her to watch the act in the mirror, and while her throat was still damaged.  She then took Marie with her.  Marie lives in New Orleans, her once exceptional voice now reduced to a whisper and her once great beauty, faded and lost.  A living example of Dalia’s vengeance.
Today, Dalia owns the Lamp Light, on Bourbon street.  A strip club, where she will occasionally perform.  She owns several brothels across the city as well and manages one of the most notorious Krewes in the city.  One thing she learned from her early days was that men tell secrets to their lovers, even temporary lovers, and because of that she has gathered lots of information on important figures in the city.  She uses this knowledge sparingly as to not reveal the source, but she has incredible influence, especially among the mortal officials of the city.
Dalia is a very pleasant woman as long as you do not get on her bad side. She is a voracious learner, and asks questions about all kinds of subjects.  Since she was kept ignorant while young, she sees knowledge as a source of power and makes an effort to learn at every opportunity.  She also delights in the fact that people can be manipulated by an attractive woman and delights in putting that to the test, especially among younger Kindred.
She is very friendly with Lawrence, and they have even entered into several business arrangements.  She also is very close to Jeffrey Kobe.  She has a cordial relationship with most of the other kindred in the city.  She does not like Uncle Larell or his anarchs as they cause chaos and create situations which she does not have much control over.  She has a deep hatred for Archibald Meeks, and is not afraid to show it.  From what the hatred stems, is unknown, but they both seem content with avoiding each other.  Her closet allies are Marie, despite their past, and her progeny Justin, a painter who is completely devoted to her.

Known Kindred residents.

Lazarus Walker: The Tremere Primogen is a charismatic figure with a large following of Kine and Kindred alike.  He is the leader of the Scions of the Inner Eye, a group of magic users that are typically regarded as a cult group.  It members are made up of kine mages, and several Kindred Tremere.  The group is fanatically loyal to Lazarus, and work toward a single goal.  Becoming a member of his inner circle where advanced magic is taught.  Most regular members don’t realize that the inner circle member are all Kindred.
Lazarus was born around the early 1900s and like most kindred little is known of his past.  He has said before his embrace that he spent his time learning magic from all over the world.  He was a powerful human mage before he turned.  When the Tremere embraced him or who his sire is unknown, but people are sure it is not the Prince.  Lazarus is a powerful Tremere mastering several paths of blood magic.  He draws people to the followers of the inner eye by promising them power and greater control over their lives through the use of magic.  Some very influential citizens are members.  This is not the first time that he has led a cult.  Twice before he has been the head of a similar group, but each time when kine authorities had discovered some of his follower’s more heinous acts, he had to act and dissolve the group.  This essentially meant all members committed suicide and Lazarus picked up and moved to a new city.
Lazarus is a very charismatic person, as he would need to be, to get so many people to follow him.  It helps his magical skills are real also.  He makes a good first impression and is quick to offer a kind word or assistance where needed.  This allows him to cultivate many friends in the city who would never believe that the Followers of the Inner Eye are anything more than a fraternity, like the Knights of Columbus.  He has an easy manner which people feel comfortable with and easily open up to.  That combined with his good looks and his vampire abilities make it easy for him to gain people’s trust.
Lazarus seems to genuinely get along with most of the other Kindred.  He does not like Uncle Larell, but if that is personal reasons, or just because the rest of the Kindred mostly feel the same, is unknown.  He is not fond of Lawrence and his current closeness to the Prince.  He feels that Tremere should be first among the clans as they share a clan with the Prince, and resents the fact that Lawrence is held in higher regard.  He is polite enough though to not openly cause problems with the Ventrue and to work at increasing his own clan’s prestige.

Known Kindred residents.

Uncle Larell:  Uncle Larell is the oldest Brujah and by default leads the clan.  He was Born around the turn of the 19th century and worked for the mob in Chicago.  By the time he was 25 he was a well-known bootlegger, and strongman for Johnny Torrio.  It is the one piece of his history he ensures everyone knows about.  At 27 he was considered too much of a risk as a black man, by the family and he was driven to the marina in a bag tied down with rocks to be dumped into Lake Michigan.  It was just by chance that a Brujah happened to be in the area, and thought it would be fun to free him, embrace him and his assailant and force them fight each other, the winner getting to go free.  Unfortunately, that Brujah underestimated how much blood it took to embrace the two kine, and when Larell managed to beat his opponent with a tire iron, he turned on his sire and did the same.  Thus, his unlife started with violence and that is how he lived most of it.
Today Larell goes by Uncle Larell and has other to do most of his work for him.  He learned the best way to enjoy life was to let other people work for rewards which he would just take.  He took over a local gang, who was using some abandoned building in the flood ravaged south side of the Big Easy.  He renamed them the Gotti Boys and set himself up as some type of mystic wise man who guides the gang.  Over his 110 years he has learned a thing or two and he finds running a group of local thugs easy. Especially since he has no serious goals other than to enjoy himself.

Uncle Larell is a typical violent thug, though he is a bit smarter than many give him credit for.  His abrupt manner and monosyllabic vocabulary causes people to underestimate him. When he acts, it is quick and with everything he has.  He is ruthless and vicious, not only wishing to end the conflict, but to inflict as much pain, humiliation and damage as ha can as an example to others.
He has very little friends among the older Kindred, but a decent following among the younger less organized.  They look at him as taking a stand against the establishment, regardless of who gets hurt in the process.  While the other Kindred boss usually speak ill of him, most of them see him as a necessary evil, an attack dog they can use when needed, though it’s a balance between his usefulness and his danger to the masquerade.  Many of his progeny have been killed as message for him to toe the line, but he replaces them easily enough.  He has been known to work with the Nosferatu from time to tame and visiting Gangrel sometimes fill the ranks of his gang, though they usually do not stay long.  He also has a good relationship with The Accountant who takes care of the business parts of the drug trade that the gang is involved in.

The Accountant:  The Malkavian boss is a mystery.  His past is unknown and he doesn’t talk about himself ever.  He seems to have some type of connection with the Brujah or Uncle Larell, as he manages all the financial dealing the Brujah are involved with, from drug money, to protection rackets, to prostitution.  However, his loyalty is not a given, as he has sided against the Brujah in primogen councils.  If it weren’t for the fact that the accountant is so good at what he does Uncle Larell would have probably ended the relationship a long time ago.  (Unless there is more to that then is known publicly).  No one is even sure how old the Malk is but he is definitely very powerful.  So powerful in fact that no one in the city seems to have any idea where is haven is.  He seems to appear and disappear at will and randomly across the city.
He is very quiet and businesslike and takes no part in small talk or even conversation.  He offers his services, varied as they might be to anyone willing to pay his price.  His interactions are kept strictly to business.
The accountant’s only ally seems to be his strange relationship with Uncle Larell.    He has no other connection with the other kindred, though some of them may have worked together in the past.

Known Kindred residents.

Davon: Davon is a local and was born here in Louisiana back before the city industrialized.  It is not sure how old he is, but he said he remembers the day when New Orleans was surrounded by plantations.  Davon is a Cajun, who’s family are straight from Canada, and he says he has a little native thrown in the mix for fun.  His family were farmers trying to make their lives on land that wasn’t owned by the big plantation owners.  As a young buy, he used to love taking big flat bottom boats out into the bayou to be alone.  When he grew older he used to have a job taking rich city people out into the swamps on tours to see gators and other wildlife. He hated it, as his customers always treated him and his folk like they weren’t worth anything, just a step up from the blacks working the fields.  During one of his trip out alone, he met his sire Ahote.  Ahote lived out in the bayou with several other Gangrel.  They had more native then gypsy in their blood, and would sleep under the dark brackish water during the day.  Ahote recognized in Davon a sadness and a need to make his own destiny and embraced him.  For a few year Davon lived with the Gangrel there but wanderlust called to him, so he traveled for many years.  He came back to New Orleans to settle for a while.
Davon played a big part in establishing the peace between the Kindred and the Rougarou.  When New Orleans started expanding into land the lupines called home, they retaliated and targeted kindred who has been helping in the process or development.  Davon got involved and worked with kindred to declare large areas of the swamps natural wetland protected from development.  That satisfied the lupines and they agreed to stay out of the cities.  That peace has held until today and because of it, the Gangrel are well respected in New Orleans, and by the Rougarou.
Davon is a pleasant person to speak to, and unlike most of the other kindred, this pleasantness seems to be no act at all.  He simply seems to enjoy his life.  His philosophy is to let bygone be bygones and as long as no one tried to cause him harm, he does the same.
This attitude endears him to the younger kindred who don’t see him as a representation of the establishment.    He even gets along with Uncle Larell.  Some of the older Kindred distrust him, such as Lawrence and Dalia, as they feel he is hiding some ulterior motive.  Lazarus doesn’t care for his carefree attitude and sees him a risk to the Kindred.  Of all the other Clan bosses, he seems to be very good friend with Meeks.  He is one of the few that seems to have no trouble being around the Nosferatu, and they spend a fair amount of time together.

Known Kindred residents.

Archibald Meeks: Another mysterious Kindred leads the Nosferatu.  Archibald is most likely one of the oldest Kindred in the city, or he has gotten powerful in other ways.  Nothing is known about the Nosferatu’s past.  He has been in New Orleans longer than any of the other Kindred but was in Torpor for a long time.  He arose as Malfeader came to power and the other Nosferatu in the city were nervous.  Whether they found a way to waken the elder, of if he somehow senses the distress is not known, but one day he awoke and simply sat down at the primogen council.  No one questioned him.
Like most Nosferatu, Meeks is a loner by necessity.  His disfigurement is particularly unsettling as the right side of his face looks like it has been exposed to some caustic.  The flesh is puckers and burned and the white of his jawbone can be seen through it.  His right arm end in a stump and appears burned.  He has a prosthetic though he rarely wears it.  When he does have to pay a social visit he usually covers his face with a tarnished silver mask, and wears a deep cowl.  He walks with a slight limp as if one of his feet were extremely heavy.  His looks make most people uncomfortable and they do not spend time with him, Davon being the exception.  He and the Gangrel have a rare friendship.
