Gear: Equipment

The following items of supplies are listed in In Darkest Warrens

Armour (+2 wounds while worn, 300gc)  Aristocrat clothes (30gc)  Commoner clothes (5gc)   Hardy Boots (2gc)  Backpack (1gc)  Field rations (4gc, 3 days worth)  Ink (2gc)  Cloak (7gc)  Flint and steel (3gc)  50’ rope (3gc)  Grappling hook (15gc)
Water flask (5gc)  Tent (10gc)  Bedroll (4gc)  Blank book (5gc)  Chalk (1gc)  Healing Potion (30 gc, heals 1 wound)  Thieves tools (20gc)  Winter gear (25gc)  Melee weapon (15gc)  Ranged weapon (15gc)  Arrows/bolts/darts x 10 (2gc)

Characters start with 1 d6 x10 gold coins for buying gear.

Additions from Adventurer's Guide:

Weapon ranges:  ● Sling  20ft (15gc)  ● Throwing dagger  30ft (17gc)  ● Shortbow  60ft (25gc)  ● Longbow  100ft (45gc)

Advanced armour: There are three  types of armour  head, body and shield.   ● Head  100gc (+1 wound while  worn.)  ● Body  300gc (+2 wounds while  worn.)  ● Shield  100gc (+1 wound while  wound.)

In Nezrak's World, all NPC characters (and potentially PC characters) are automatically issued two weapons, one being a melee weapon and the other a ranged weapon, plus whatever "ammo" is suitable, and in most cases commoner clothes, hardy boots, and an appropriate cloak (see separate Cloak Code). (Halflings normally do not wear hardy boots as they have naturally tough furry feet as per Tolkien; some Dragonkin may choose not to wear boots to leave the retractable claws on their feet free, though higher-ranking ones normally wear boots in public.)  Mages and priests/priestesses have healing potions, rogues who are thieves (not all are --many are merchants, tavern-keepers or miscellaneous adventurers) have thief tools, ropes and grappling hooks. Some assassins and treasure hunters also have these three items; rogues, rangers and warriors who are seafaring merchants, sea-reavers, or corsairs have ropes and grappling hooks but not thief tools. A few innkeepers (rogues) are issued rations to resell.

Armor is expensive compared to other goods (as can be seen above) and rare in this world. The only characters automatically issued armor are Nezrak's Dragonriders on his side and the High King's Guard in the Free Isles, plus a few high-ranking aristocrats on each side. NPC aristocrats on both sides are issued aristocratic clothes instead of common clothes; these are also rare.

The advanced armor described in Adventurer's Guide is virtually unknown in this world. Magical armor and weapons are rare but might be found by adventuring parties (in small qualities) (See the Magnificent Artifacts supplement and comment on magical weapons in the original In Darkest Warrens).

Camping/exploring  gear (tents, backpacks, rations, water flasks, etc.) are not issued automatically to characters and must be bought before plunging into the wilderness. Many encounters in this world can be towns where this gear is not needed.
