Re: V: Into the Catacombs

There is just more rock overhead.

On the other side of the trap is another room nearly identical to the one the group started in.  There are three storage areas on the East side of the room.  The first one is crammed full of crates and boxes.  The second one is similar, but there are slightly fewer boxes.  The last one contains a well.  The hall continues South on the other side of the room.

Re: V: Into the Catacombs

"I'm sorry I can't do more," Rebeccah replies, seeming a bit stunned at what she had already done.  She tears off strips from the hem of her dress and binds up what wounds remain.

She stays near the back of the group with her bow ready just in case.  Hopefully there weren't any more traps to worry about, but she wasn't taking any chances.

Re: V: Into the Catacombs

In reply to Rebeccah (msg # 48):

Smiles to Rebecca, Rebecca, you did great.  We have to enjoy the gifts our goddess gives us.

Turns to Jory,  Please Check out the well, be careful Lam assess the group and asks Daniv and Melisana please cover Jory.

Looks at the second room, Sal, Edward and Tath, would you mind checking out the one with Less crates and boxes. pointing it out

Then turns and points to the first room crammed with boxes and crates  Einlan, Gunnar and Kerkrin Can you three please check out the first room here but take your time sifting through them as it is a mess.

Rebecca with your bow and Leozaren stay with me in the center of the three rooms to cover everyone in each room and watch the hallway too.  I hate spreading us out so, but us three here should be able to help react to any threat before the others so be on the look out. ,

Deniv moves with his torch to help light the area for those opening crates, but he wonders about the well.  All of the dust is making his throat feel dry enough to cough up dust balls.

After dusting himself off a little Tath joined the others "Thank you Rebeccah and Lam for the healing, and everyone else. You could have just left me and continued on, so I am grateful."

He then went to check out the crates along with Sal and Edward. Keeping a watchful eye out for any other traps or nasty surprises.

As the group spreads out and searches Lam also quietly says to Tath but loud enough the whole group can hear, We wold not leave another of our group members behind nor give up on them so fear not Tath, I wold not have left you without giving all I had to rescue you.

AS he surveys the rooms and hallways Keep a sharp eye and ear group, this place is only just starting with us and time is against us.

Rebeccah parks herself against the wall where she has a view of all the supply areas at once.  She has an arrow ready on her bow just in case.  "Careful with those boxes.  I don't think I can heal anymore, and my dress is getting short enough already."

Re: V: Into the Catacombs

Deniv looks up from watching and assisting the others looking through the boxes and crates.  Hey!  Improper!  Very rude!
He goes back to helping, shaking his head.  He may find himself in the position of acting like a thief or a grave robber, but that does not mean one has to lack manners.  Courtesy, propriety, and respect are valuable commodities when operating a tavern, even when it comes to those with whom you are familiar.  Of course, the quality and state of their current clothing leaves a lot to be desired.  But that is no excuse in his mind fir such comments.

Re: V: Into the Catacombs

In reply to Einlian (msg # 61):

Lam chuckles at Rebeccahs comment, I too wish for our group to not have to continue to have you hem away your clothing, ducks his head, not that you are not um but well you see, loosing your clothing is not a favorable thing to happen and um

then at Sals comment, Sal, careful with your jests for Rebeccah would have to start hemming your own cloths or worse, mine so best be careful my friend with your injury occurrences

then chuckles in thought of course Sal our goddesses laws is such that I can be your healer and lay my hands on you instead and smiles at Sal then turns and continues watching the group.

Then following the jesting with Einlian and Sal, Sal, I think a fine red gown with frills and long sleeves will suite you best especially if you want to be bandaged all the time.  Plus I'll have you be point man instead of Jory which will help that out and grins, but I will still Lay my hands on you for your healing so no worries there. and grins again

Thinking there is more then one way to keep this group together and survive this ordeal so a little tactful reactions instead of a hard line one should steer the groups course better too and the more we can jest and have fun the better we all will be.

Looking over to Rebeccah, green would suite you fine and ... um then turns and continues watching for trouble

Re: V: Into the Catacombs

The first cubby is crammed packed pretty tightly.  Some of them seemed to have been forced into position.  So far, none of the boxes hold anything useful.  If they held anything, they had long rotted to unidentifiable rubbish.

As Sal, Edward and Tath begin to search through the second supply, a loud squeak is all the warning they get as some rats the size of dogs swarm out and attack to defend their nest.

18:51, Today: Man in Black rolled 6 using 1d6.  surprise?

The well is dark and deep, but the sound of rushing water can be heard echoing up the shaft.  An old bucket sits nearby, but the rope has long since rotted away.

(The party seems to have honed their reflexes from their ordeal and react before the rats can attack. I believe there is three, but I don't have the book right now.)

Re: V: Into the Catacombs

Rebeccah chuckles at Sal's humor as she lays a hand on Daniv's shoulder.  "It's ok, Daniv.  The darker the circumstances, the darker the humor.  I think we could all use a good laugh."

"I prefer blue," she says, gesturing towards her dress.  Not only was it torn short well above her knees, it was also covered in mud, blood, and dirt.  "But I wouldn't blame you for not being able to tell.  Though to be honest, I really don't want to wear anything found down here in a tomb."

She jumps in surprise as the rats appear.  Her first arrow flies wildly off course, but her second at least hits close.  (At least it looks like a miss.)

11:08, Today: Rebeccah rolled 13 using 1d20.  attack.

Attempting to stay hidden, and flank a rat, or get behind it.  from the side, or rear he will unleash the might of his trusty dagger, or he wont.

Unsure what to do for the best, leave the two he is with to help against the rats or stop and wait, Einlian decides on the latter, watching in case more appear.

You got this, we are hear if need us. Too many cooks as my mum used to say. Remembering his mum at a time like this, he hit a box with his fist, smashing the side of the unmoving, offending box.

Re: V: Into the Catacombs

(13 just gets in there for Rebeccah.  Rolled damage.)

Rebeccah's 2nd shot is right on target.  Her arrow skewers a large rat, killing it instantly.

Sal quietly creeps up on the rats.

Lam rushes in to engage the rats.  He swings away at one of them, shaving off a few hairs.

Tath runs his target through with the spear, killing it.

Daniv fires his bow, but his arrows all miss the mark.

Edward swings clumsily with his club.

Kerkrin uses his heavy crossbow, pinning a rat to a crate.  It squirms in vain as it dies.

A rat snaps at Edward, but he is able to keep out of reach.

The last rat ducks under Sal's knife attack and clamps down on his leg, piercing deep.  (-3 HP)

The heroes maintain the initiative and continue their attacks.

(Leozaren never had stats.  He died of exposure before the temple.  You still have Edward (druid) and Kerkrin (Cleric) to command.)

Dagger out, angry as Hell, he swings at the mangy beast.
